EZ-Link Card: Tap, Pay and Travel Around Singapore

Author's Profile Picture
EZ-Link Card

Getting around Singapore is easy with an EZ-Link Card. Instead of preparing cash or buying a ticket for every journey, you can simply tap your card when taking the MRT, LRT or public bus. The card can also be used for payments at many participating shops, restaurants and other merchants across Singapore.

❤️ Pro Tip: When planning your Singapore trip, consider booking flights to Singapore and Singapore hotels early, especially during weekends, school holidays and popular travel periods.

What Is an EZ-Link Card?

What Is an EZ-Link Card?

The EZ-Link Card is a rechargeable contactless stored-value card used mainly for public transport in Singapore. You add money to the card and the correct fare is deducted whenever you travel.

You can use an EZ-Link Card for Singapore’s MRT, LRT and public bus network. EZ-Link and SimplyGo EZ-Link cards are also accepted at many participating retail merchants across Singapore.

For travelers, the main advantage is convenience. You do not need to calculate the fare before every MRT or bus journey. Just make sure the card has enough value and use the same card when tapping in and out.

✈️ Pro Tip: If you are planning a Singapore trip soon, check flights to Singapore early so you have more choices for travel dates and flight times.

Using an EZ-Link Card on Singapore public transport is simple.

For MRT and LRT:

  1. Tap your EZ-Link Card at the fare gate when entering the station.
  2. Take the train to your destination.
  3. Tap the same card again when leaving the station.
  4. The correct distance-based fare will be deducted automatically.

For public buses:

  3. The fare will be calculated based on the distance travelled.

Always use the same card for both entry and exit, or when boarding and alighting from a bus.

How to Top Up an EZ-Link Card

How to Top Up an EZ-Link Card

You can add more stored value to your EZ-Link Card when your balance starts running low.

Common top-up locations include:

  • SimplyGo Ticket Offices
  • Ticketing Service Centres
  • MRT ticketing machines
  • Self-service ticketing kiosks
  • Selected convenience stores

Supported ticketing kiosks may accept cash, local bank cards and selected foreign-issued payment cards.

Foreign-issued Mastercard, Visa and JCB cards may also be accepted for stored-value top-ups at supported machines. However, additional convenience fees may apply.

For most tourists, topping up at an MRT station is one of the easiest options.

Can Tourists Use the SimplyGo App?

Can Tourists Use the SimplyGo App?

The SimplyGo app provides services such as checking card details, balances and transaction history.

However, some SimplyGo account features require a Singapore mobile number or local identity verification.

Travelers using a foreign mobile number may still be able to use selected guest features, such as scanning a compatible card to check its details.

For most short-term visitors, checking and topping up an EZ-Link Card at an MRT ticketing machine may be easier than creating a full SimplyGo account.

EZ-Link Card vs Singapore Tourist Pass

Do not confuse a regular EZ-Link Card with the Singapore Tourist Pass.

A regular EZ-Link Card deducts money from your stored balance each time you travel.

The Singapore Tourist Pass provides unlimited eligible MRT, LRT and basic public bus rides during its validity period.

Which One Should You Choose?

Choose a regular EZ-Link Card if you:

  • Prefer to pay only for the rides you actually take
  • Are staying in Singapore for several days
  • Do not expect to use public transport many times every day
  • Want a reusable transport card

Consider the Singapore Tourist Pass if you:

  • Plan to take many MRT and bus rides each day
  • Are sightseeing intensively
  • Prefer unlimited eligible public transport rides for a fixed period
🎡 Singapore Tip: Count how many MRT and bus journeys you expect to take each day before buying a Tourist Pass. If you only plan a few rides, a regular EZ-Link Card may cost less.

The room was decent, comparable to a mid-range hotel like Ji Hotel or Atour in China. For the price in Singapore, it was alright. The service, however, was just okay, not particularly warm. When I arrived, no one helped with my luggage from the car, and when I mentioned I was in a hurry to check out, the front desk staff was unhurried and quite perfunctory. Interestingly, they were exceptionally enthusiastic with English-speaking foreigners. Perhaps many Chinese tourists stay here at this price point, leading to a noticeable difference in service attitude. I wouldn't have stayed here if my wife and kids hadn't changed their plans and returned to China unexpectedly.

This hotel was the best one our family of three stayed at during our trip to Singapore. Since mid-July is my husband's and my wedding anniversary, I noted it on the booking. The hotel was incredibly thoughtful! Because of a typhoon, I only booked the night before. When we checked in, not only was the room decorated, but there were also cute drawings on the mirror and a lovely little card. When we returned to the hotel after exploring, there was even a row of mini cakes on the table! We were truly touched. Plus, there were many staff members who spoke Chinese and were willing to communicate in Chinese, unlike some of the later hotels where staff clearly understood Chinese but wouldn't use it. Their hotel is also very clean and beautiful! The pool is spotless and the gym has a great selection of equipment. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Singapore!

My stay at Marina Bay Sands Singapore was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it! The hotel's location is excellent, directly connected to a mall, and within walking distance of famous attractions like Gardens by the Bay and Merlion Park, making getting around incredibly convenient. Check-in was efficient, and the staff were warm and professional, providing attentive service throughout, truly reflecting a five-star hotel experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a modern design and immaculate cleanliness. The bed was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a wonderfully comfortable night's sleep. What truly impressed me most was the room's view – whether it was the city skyline or the Marina Bay night view, both were absolutely stunning. The hotel's infinity pool definitely lives up to its reputation; the views are unforgettable and it's an absolute must-visit spot when in Singapore. The breakfast spread was extensive, with a great variety of both Western and Asian options, all of which tasted delicious. Overall, everything from the environment and facilities to the service was impeccable. It was a very enjoyable and memorable stay. If I ever visit Singapore again, I will definitely choose this hotel, and I'll be recommending it to all my friends and family!

I was quite anxious before my trip, worried about bad service or a poor room. However, as soon as I entered the lobby, someone immediately came to help with my luggage without any differential treatment, which instantly put me at ease. I had booked two months in advance, and at check-in, the front desk even specifically mentioned the requests I made in my booking email and assigned the room accordingly – truly excellent! The room was very clean and spacious; even with two 26-inch suitcases open, there was still plenty of room. The bedding didn't feel damp or anything, and I slept very comfortably until morning. The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to several popular attractions nearby. Downstairs, there are plenty of dining options, and the metro and bus lines are also very convenient. I've already recommended it to friends, and if I visit Singapore again, I'll definitely choose this hotel.

The location is excellent, less than a five-minute walk from the City Hall MRT station (green line). The front desk was very nice and gave me a room in the South Tower facing the inner pool (the other side has Marina Bay views but only on high floors). Downstairs, Funan Mall offers convenient dining and shopping. Nearby attractions such as Merlion Park, Fort Canning Park, and Clarke Quay are all within walking distance. Even Chinatown is a feasible walk if you're up for it. The room was spacious enough, but some of the facilities had issues. The showerhead in the shower cubicle wasn't working, so I could only use the rain shower. I didn't bother asking the hotel to fix it. The hotel breakfast was unremarkable, quite average, and very crowded. Not worth it.

The front desk didn't have any Chinese-speaking staff, but their English was quite standard. The room size was spacious and not cramped. A minor inconvenience was the lack of outlets next to the bedside tables; instead, they were on the side without one. I tried the pool, and the only downside is that you might feel like an animal in a zoo, observed by people in the surrounding high-rise buildings. Breakfast had very limited options and wasn't tasty, which was a definite negative. However, overall, the good outweighs the bad. To summarize, the room size is good, the location is convenient, the service is fine, and the facilities are decent.

They couldn’t do enough for you, if you needed anything you just had to ask, everyone was so friendly, it really made our stay in Singapore wonderful, we’d definitely like to return, not only to Singapore but the hotel too. The bonus was the pool and the food options by the pool, again, the staff there were great. First off, the location is excellent; it's right by the subway exit, which is super convenient. The Marina Bay night view is also stunning. However, there are no fireworks, no fireworks, no fireworks! What online sources say about seeing fireworks is inaccurate; you can't see them at all. On the night I stayed, it was a National Day fireworks rehearsal, and all I could hear were the sounds, but I couldn't see anything. Regarding hotel service, they claim to have Chinese-speaking staff, but it's very difficult to find them. Most don't speak Chinese and won't help you find someone who does. It's basically a situation where they speak a lot, and I don't understand, and what I say they don't quite get either. Aside from completing the check-in, I didn't really grasp a lot of what they said. However, perhaps because my registration included my son and daughter, when we entered the room, we found they had already thoughtfully added an extra bed for free, which made sleeping quite comfortable and was a great touch.

My stay at Studio M Hotel Singapore was a mixed experience that balanced comfort with a frustrating service encounter. On the positive side, the rooms are thoughtfully designed and stand out from typical city hotels. The loft-style layout gives a sense of space that feels both modern and functional, especially for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the overall aesthetic had a sleek, contemporary vibe that makes it appealing for both business and leisure travelers. The location is also a strong advantage. Situated along the Singapore River, it offers easy access to dining spots and is within reasonable distance of key areas like Clarke Quay. It’s convenient enough without being right in the middle of the noise, which I appreciated. However, the experience was let down by the lack of flexibility from the front desk staff. During check-in, I did not have my IC or passport on hand, and while I understand the need for verification, the handling of the situation felt unnecessarily rigid. There was little effort to explore alternative solutions or offer reassurance, which made the process more stressful than it needed to be. In a hospitality setting, a bit of understanding and problem-solving goes a long way, and this was noticeably lacking. That said, once past the check-in issue, the rest of the stay was relatively smooth. The facilities were decent, and housekeeping maintained a good standard throughout. Overall, Studio M delivers well on comfort, design, and location, but the service experience—particularly at the front desk—could benefit from a more guest-centric approach. It’s a great place to stay if everything goes according to plan, but if you run into any hiccups, be prepared for a by-the-book response rather than a flexible one.

Facilities: All essential amenities are provided, including disposable toiletries, towels, bath towels, a hairdryer, and even a mini-fridge and an iron (though I didn't use it). The second floor offers a private space with power outlets and a desk. It's compact but sufficient; a 20-inch suitcase can be laid out on the desk, and downstairs, two 24-inch suitcases can easily be opened simultaneously. The bathroom has drinkable tap water. Cleanliness: Very clean, no insects or anything of the sort. Environment: I'm really satisfied. The hallway is very quiet, and the soundproofing is excellent; you can't hear any noise during resting hours. The air conditioning is powerful. Service: The room includes complimentary snacks, tea bags, and coffee, but beverages are extra. Every morning when I left, I’d encounter the housekeeping staff, with whom I could communicate using simple English. The front desk service is great, and they offer free luggage storage. Security is also excellent; you need to use your room key card to access your designated floor. From 3 PM to 6 PM, there's complimentary ice cream. Although breakfast isn't included, there are breakfast spots on the first floor and downstairs at the hotel opposite the All Seasons building, as well as in the mall across from the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Transportation is also very convenient! The MRT and bus stops are incredibly close, and Dhoby Ghaut is an interchange for three MRT lines. Bus 36, which goes directly to the airport, is also nearby (just make sure you're going in the right direction). One more important thing! Fort Canning Park is nearby, and the famous 'tree tunnel' photo spot is right downstairs from the All Seasons building! It's very easy to find, so if you arrive early, you can go take your photos right away. All in all, my trip to Singapore was made even better because of this hotel.☺️

Right next to Wild Wild Wet, my kids, who weren't very enthusiastic at first, became super excited once they saw the facilities. Being able to get to the ocean quickly and encountering wildlife we don't usually see was also a plus. We had trouble because there was no tissue or drinking water (though you can buy it at the shop), and while there's nothing that can be done about it, I was surprised by how ants appeared out of nowhere. The hotel's location is good, close to both the subway and bus stops. Overall, it was also quite clean, though it was a bit disappointing that no complimentary bottled water was provided. This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars. If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds. The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. This hotel in Singapore sees a lot of foot traffic. The doorman at the entrance, who was quite elderly, told me to push my luggage up the ramp myself instead of offering to help, even though I'm a woman. However, I saw him assist other foreign guests with their luggage multiple times, which made me wonder if I was overthinking it. This is an older hotel, and the family room was surprisingly spacious for Singapore standards! The facilities are quite dated, but still clean and tidy. While it couldn't escape the typical musty smell you find in Singapore hotels, overall, it offers good value for money. The bathroom definitely felt old, reminiscent of an older 3-star hotel in China. I'd recommend bringing your own towels. They do provide disposable slippers and toothbrushes. The location is convenient, with a bus stop right outside.

Front desk can be contradicting in their communication. Came to the front desk to check in and was given option to wait for another 45 mins for a corner room on. Higher floor which I requested as I prefer quiet room to sleep in. So I waited and came back more than 45 mins later and a different front desk attended to me and gave me another room instead. Didn’t inform me if the previous room mentioned to me is ready or not or it’s been given away to another guest instead. Instead only asked me if I’m alright with a room that is not at the corner. I had to say okay cos I was areadly very tired of the waiting. Not appreciative of being asked to wait then come back and no more corner room as promised earlier with no explanation given either. It can be chaotic at the front desk as they have to attend to mostly guest wanting to collect their baggage versus those who is checking in. The number of check in computers doesn’t work as I go through the steps and there is no one around to help when I’m stuck either. But the room is great though. Very small but the interior is designed such that everything is hidden behind the wall or drawers to make use of the tight space. The view from the bathroom is priceless although one needs to draw the curtain up and down when going to the bathroom. One downside is when your next door neighbor uses the hairdryer or draws the curtain, you can hear it clearly. Other than that, sleep was good as I use a silicone ear plug. Didn’t get to have a chance to use the robot delivery sadly. Shoutout to the dining staff at 10th floor entrance when I was loitering outside out of curiousity to take a look. He was very friendly and welcoming even though it’s later in the evening. And also to the bespectacled lady staff who came into my room to top up my lotion. A warm hearty and friendly staff who lightens up my day.

The room was nice and the surrounding area was very quiet! I stayed for several days, and on some of those days, my neighbors were Indian or Malaysian families with kids who made a lot of noise late into the night and started up again very early in the morning. However, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the room design was sensible, making it look very tidy. Overall, it was a good check-in experience, though the check-out time of 12 PM was strictly enforced!

This is definitely bang for the buck than other hotels in Singapore. The location is not that far from bus stations and Kallang station MRT. Since I love walking, it was not really a big deal for me to walk for 10mins or less. It is also located in Geylang, so it’s very quiet. My mom and I were able to sleep well. Amenities is spot on, very clean and secured. Even the front desk staff were very helpful during our stay. Would definitely consider staying here again if we visit Singapore in the future. Facilities: Comprehensive, with a pool and a gym. Cleanliness: Spotless and tidy. Environment: Small yet exquisite, its greatest asset being cleanliness and neatness. Service: Excellent! I emailed the hotel with a request, and they met it perfectly! Very satisfied. Convenient for getting around. It seems coffee at the hotel might be chargeable; you can inquire at the front desk for details. The hotel requires a deposit. I recommend exchanging more Singapore dollars, just in case.

I stayed here because I had an early flight the next morning. The location is perfect, as I could do some last-minute shopping at Jewel and prepare for my departure. It felt like a significantly upgraded capsule hotel bed, though I've never actually stayed in a capsule hotel before. However, the room was tiny. Once I opened my large suitcase, there was barely any space to move around. The shower only had a half-glass door, so if you took a vigorous shower, the floor near the toilet would get soaked. The water pressure was also incredibly weak. Shampoo and body wash were provided, but there was no conditioner. There were two USB ports for phone charging, but neither of them worked. I managed to charge my phone using an adapter I brought from Japan, but it was slow charging due to the weak current. It took about 5 hours to fully charge. I had some time before hotel check-in, so I stopped by the Priority Pass lounge at Jewel to charge my phone, which was a much more comfortable experience. The showers there were also much more luxurious. As soon as I entered the room, I found the pink lighting to be distasteful, like a love hotel. You could switch it off, but I couldn't relax at all in a pink room. The bed was plush and comfortable though, which was a plus.

lyf Funan Singapore boasts an unbeatable location. The hotel is situated entirely within Funan Mall, with seamless underground access to City Hall MRT station, just a three to four-minute walk away, protected from the elements. Merlion Park, Marina Bay, Clarke Quay, and Fort Canning Park are all within walking distance, making returns after a day of sightseeing effortless. Downstairs, you'll find restaurants and supermarkets, covering all your dining and shopping needs. The convenience for getting around is top-notch. The hotel's service is gentle and attentive. The 24-hour front desk staff (including a helpful lady who speaks Chinese) are warm and enthusiastic. Check-in is efficient and smooth, and they patiently answer questions about directions and attractions. Luggage storage and various other requests are handled with care and discretion. The overall facilities are modern and well-equipped, with a simple yet contemporary design. The rooms are clean and tidy, feeling very much like a home away from home. Public areas include a spacious lounge, a shared kitchen, a self-service laundry and drying room, and a gym, making it comfortable for extended stays. The high-speed WiFi is stable throughout, and the rooms are fully equipped, balancing trendy design with practical experience. Having visited Singapore multiple times, I always choose to stay here. The excellent location, attentive service, and comprehensive amenities make the entire trip exceptionally worry-free and comfortable.

The hotel's location is convenient, connected to a shopping mall, allowing direct access to Marina Square via an escalator from the hotel's passage. After reaching the mall, turn right and walk straight to the end to find a bridge to Suntec City. The lobby is beautiful, and the room is clean and spacious, though it doesn't have a bathtub. The night view is stunning; the photo was taken from the 7th floor. The swimming pool is 1.2 meters deep and the water quality is clean. There's a wide variety of breakfast options, and the food tastes good. This hotel is very popular, so elevator wait times can be a bit longer, and they tend to be crowded. Outpost Hotel Review (200 words) For my trip to Sentosa, Singapore, I stayed at The Outpost Hotel. The location was incredibly convenient, just a short walk to the monorail, making it easy to get to Universal Studios, the beaches, and other attractions. There's also a shuttle service for convenient access to the city center. The hotel's black and white colonial design is stunning, and the rooms are clean and tidy with comfortable bedding, providing a great rest after a long day. The biggest highlight is the adults-only infinity pool with its expansive views – watching the sunset from there in the evening was incredibly atmospheric. The peaceful, kid-free environment truly enhanced the resort feel. The front desk staff were attentive and check-in was efficient, and the breakfast was exquisite and plentiful. The only minor drawback was that finding the lobby entrance was a bit tricky for a first-time guest. Overall, the comfort and ambiance are top-notch, making it perfect for travelers seeking a quiet retreat while still being able to easily explore. It's a high-quality hotel on Sentosa.

The location is excellent! It's within a 10-minute walk to Fort Canning Park, Merlion Park, Old Hill Street Police Station, the Art Museum, and Jumbo Seafood. When I was choosing a hotel, I wanted something clean and tidy, close to the attractions. The front desk staff were very friendly during check-in and check-out, and some even spoke a little Chinese, which made me feel very comfortable. After checking in, the room facilities were quite new, and the room size was also acceptable. It was consistent with the online pictures. Up to this point, my impression of this hotel was very good! Now, about breakfast. There wasn't much variety, and on the second morning around 10 AM, it wasn't even peak dining time. The ”lady with straight bangs” who was seating people, and who had a Chinese appearance, I don't quite understand why, despite there being several empty tables in the main dining area close to the food stations, she refused to seat us there. Instead, she insisted on seating us in a corner conference room, which made getting food very inconvenient! The tables were dirty and hadn't been wiped. During our meal, many servers kept coming in to put away cutlery! I'm not sure if the ”lady with straight bangs” was being discriminatory or what her intention was. For future guests, I'd suggest you boldly request not to sit in the conference room!!

Revisiting Singapore after ten years, I still chose to stay at the same hotel, letting my kids relive their 'embryonic' experience, haha! The location is superb; major landmarks are within walking distance, and there are three subway lines right outside the door. Getting to a concert is a breeze – blue line to yellow line, and I was there in half an hour. The airport is also convenient, blue line to green line, about 45 minutes. It's close to Chinatown, with endless food options. The hotel has been well-maintained over the past decade; the facilities are still quite new. The rooms are as eco-friendly and clean as ever, though after ten years, it does lack a bit of modern tech – no bidet, no smart home system. The main gimmick is the mechanical robotic arm at the self-service breakfast. The room size is average, not particularly large. The window faces the Singapore Attorney-General's Chambers, with its twin towers of a similar architectural style. The infinity pool on the 5th floor was already picture-perfect ten years ago. The service is good, very responsive to requests, and increasingly friendly towards Chinese tourists. However, it still falls short compared to Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong or Aranya in China. It's more business-oriented, with no special arrangements for families with children. The Lime restaurant's buffet breakfast is quite average. It's really not worth paying an extra S$23 for children when you can get authentic Nanyang breakfast at Ya Kun or Toast Box nearby. I must commend the amenities: a full set of Appelles essential oil skincare and haircare products – they smell and feel great. There's also Bacha drip coffee, TWG tea, and a capsule coffee machine.

My daughter absolutely loved this hotel (the garden pool was a huge hit!). It truly lives up to its 'hidden oasis' vibe; even though it's right in the middle of Orchard Road, it feels so peaceful and secluded – a true urban sanctuary. Every detail in the hotel shows thoughtful design and care. The staff are incredibly friendly, and all the guests are polite and considerate. Immy, the floor attendant, was especially wonderful! She was warm and gentle, and even helped my son find his wireless earbuds that had fallen under the bed. Orchard Road's hidden urban oasis! 🌴 The location is absolutely fantastic, just a few minutes' walk to ION and Ngee Ann City, making shopping, dining, and exploring super convenient. The hotel has just been renovated, and the rooms are quite spacious by Singapore standards, with incredibly comfortable bedding. The garden wing's lush pool area creates a wonderful ambiance, offering a tranquil escape in the midst of the bustling city – perfect for both business and leisure. My top choice for a five-star hotel on Orchard Road! All facilities are brand new, the bathroom features Balmain amenities, and it comes with both a bathtub and a separate shower. Our original booking was for a deluxe garden room, but even before entering, the door was already very damp. Inside, there was a musty smell, and a lot of mold around the sink. Later, my husband went to the toilet and said there were many bugs... So he rushed to the front desk to report it... Afterward, they moved us to a larger room! But our family of three still felt a bit shaken... Although the lobby and pool are quite beautiful, we still won't be staying here again... We didn't even receive a complimentary greeting for our anniversary celebration... We had the highest expectations for this hotel, but it turned out to be the least satisfactory stay during our 9 days in Singapore, and the service was just mediocre! Facilities: Quite comprehensive. Everything is well-appointed and exquisite. Slippers, laundry bags, razors, combs, toiletries, and soap are all of excellent quality. The shampoo bottle dispenser was a bit stiff. The bathtub was large. The direct drinking water tap was very convenient, and you can take the cups out, so you don't need to buy extra water. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. The glass cups had a slight odor. Environment: What you see is what you get, and it looks even better in person. The bed not being against the wall and facing the balcony view was a unique touch. The bathroom has no door, and the wooden sliding door for the toilet was stuck and wouldn't move, which should be noted. Service: The front desk staff and operators were flawless, and the Mandarin service was a commendable bonus! Room delivery service was fast! The housekeepers were also excellent. However, there was a dark-skinned male server at Prego who seemed unfriendly and had a stern expression. Breakfast was abundant, and the taste was good.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, nestled in the Orchard Road shopping district. It's incredibly convenient for getting around, shopping, and visiting Marina Bay, being very close to Newton MRT station and major malls. The location is definitely a huge plus. The hotel itself is a historic building over a hundred years old, exuding a strong vintage charm. However, it also has clear drawbacks: the in-room facilities are a bit dated. The bathroom fixtures, appliances, and light switches all show their age, and the modern amenities don't match those of newer hotels in the same price range. Some equipment also shows minor signs of wear and tear during use. Thankfully, the service completely makes up for the hardware shortcomings. All staff members are warm and attentive. The doormen and front desk staff are responsive, and most employees can communicate fluently in Chinese. Services like luggage storage and in-room requests are handled thoughtfully and efficiently, with no perfunctory or negligent attitudes throughout our stay. Can You Refund an EZ-Link Card?

Refund rules depend on the type of EZ-Link Card you are using.

For eligible traditional EZ-Link cards, the remaining stored value may be refundable through selected ticketing service locations.

SimplyGo EZ-Link refunds may follow a different process and can require additional processing time or local banking arrangements.

For overseas visitors, this may not always be convenient.

To avoid leaving too much unused value on the card, add smaller amounts toward the end of your Singapore trip.

How Long Is an EZ-Link Card Valid?

An EZ-Link Card is generally valid for several years, with many cards having a validity period of around five years.

The exact expiry date can vary depending on the card type and when it was issued.

If you plan to return to Singapore before your card expires, you can keep the card and use it again during your next visit.

❤ Pro Tip: Stay connected during your Singapore trip with a Singapore eSIM. Mobile data is useful for checking MRT routes, bus arrival times, maps and attraction bookings while exploring the city.

Tips for Using an EZ-Link Card in Singapore

  • Keep your EZ-Link Card separate from other contactless cards when tapping. This prevents the fare reader from detecting the wrong card.
  • Always use the same card when entering and leaving an MRT station.
  • For public buses, remember to tap when boarding and tap again before getting off.
  • Check your balance regularly, especially before longer journeys.
  • Avoid adding too much money near the end of your Singapore trip if you do not plan to return soon.
  • If your card is still valid and you expect to visit Singapore again, keep it for your next trip.
