"The room itself was excellent – clean, tidy, and definitely felt like a mid-to-high-end property. We were pleasantly surprised with two unique flower cakes upon check-in, which was a lovely touch. Overall, it offered great value for money.
Service: However, the front desk service was extremely disappointing. As a frequent business traveler, I'm used to staying in hotels, and the contrast here was stark. There were two women and one man on duty. Their communication during check-in was stiff and rigid. While one woman was processing our request, the other two were chatting and laughing loudly amongst themselves, completely ignoring us. Such unprofessional front desk staff truly do not live up to the hotel's otherwise high standards and pleasant environment."

"This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at this year. There's a night market right next door, but the double-glazed windows completely block out any noise when closed. The front desk even provided soundproof earplugs, though I didn't end up needing them. There's also a coffee shop on the ground floor, and we got a 'buy one get one free' deal upon check-in, which was a lovely bonus. My friend and I each enjoyed a cup. All the hotel staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!"

The hotel's location was incredibly convenient, being very close to the Old Street and Cuihu Lake, which saved a lot of sightseeing time. I even asked the front desk for travel recommendations, which they thoughtfully compiled and sent to me. I've truly fallen in love with this city and hope to return to experience its charm in different seasons. 🤗🤗🤗🥰"

"This hotel is located near the department store and Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway in Nanping Pedestrian Street. The room is equipped with a separate toilet and shower. The breakfast was varied and tasty. I like the Asian corner with some congee and Chinese dumpling soup. The coffee was great and the selections of fruits and pastry were a great choice. Highly recommend!"

There were two receptionists, one is very polite and helpful providing a very pleasant service. however, the other is completely opposite, being unhelpful, provides bare minimum in answer and seems that any query is a bother to her. So training to upskilled to the latter is required.
The accommodation is a motel style that is close to the Tangzixiang metro and walking distance to the kunming old town . Very convenient for travellers who just need a bed and a shower to rest.

"Hygiene: The hotel is brand new, spotlessly clean, and free from any unpleasant odors.
Environment: The view from our window was superb, overlooking distant fields and villages. The morning breeze was wonderfully cool and refreshing. We even heard the neighbor's geese, which added a unique, charming touch to the atmosphere.

AAnonymous UserI booked this hotel on Ctrip because my child had a very early international flight the next day. It's about a 17-18 minute drive from the airport, and honestly, the free airport shuttle service was the main draw.
The shuttle van arrived promptly for my son's early morning flight. However, there were numerous steps from the hotel entrance down to where the van was parked. With all our luggage, my son and his father really struggled to lift the bags up the steps and into the vehicle.
In the afternoon, we checked out, as our flight from Kunming was later that evening. I appreciate the hotel's complimentary late check-out until 2 PM. We were told the shuttle would pick us up at the back entrance. To our surprise, there were no steps there, making us wonder why the morning shuttle had parked at the front, forcing us to lug our heavy bags up all those stairs! It was just a few steps from the back door to the van. As my husband opened the trunk (it was a van) to load our two bags, the driver suddenly snapped at us, yelling, 'Can you hurry up?! What are you dawdling for?! I have another pickup! Move it!' His tone and impatient demeanor made it seem like we owed him money; he gave us such a sour look, as if taking us was a huge favor. What kind of service is that, yelling at guests to rush?
To make matters worse, at the airport, he dropped us off at the arrival level parking lot, right next to where he was picking up new guests. We had to push our luggage (and I was limping due to a leg injury, so walking was difficult) across a massive parking lot to find the airport entrance, and then drag our bags floor by floor to reach the departure level. The driver could easily have dropped us directly at the departure level first, then proceeded to the arrival pick-up zone!
Your hotel, located just a few kilometers from the airport, relies on transit passengers who value convenience and, most importantly, your free airport shuttle service. The room rate should inherently cover the cost of this shuttle. The airport transfer service is an integral part of your hotel's offerings. So why is it that your front desk staff are consistently friendly and helpful, yet your shuttle drivers are all uniformly rude and unpleasant, barely offering a civil word or a polite expression, acting as if transporting guests is an enormous inconvenience? If the van could have parked at the back entrance where there are no steps, why did the morning driver deliberately stop at the front? And why are the drivers so aggressive once they pick up guests? If they're so unwilling to do their job, they shouldn't be in this profession. Who would ever choose to stay at an airport hotel with such appalling shuttle service? Avoid this place at all costs! Glaring fiercely in the rearview mirror with a murderous look – what kind of service industry professional behaves like that?

GGuest UserThis is my second stay at Ji Hotel. I feel that half the price here is just for the location. Honestly, if you have other options, I'd suggest paying a bit more for a hotel with more character. Both twin rooms face the street, and the soundproofing at night was quite poor. Another odd design choice was a step right outside the guest elevator on the fourth floor, which is a very strange layout. I also don't quite understand Ji Hotel's room categorization or listing logic. For instance, refrigerators aren't standard; only rooms explicitly marked in the description have one. What's worse, the other double room we booked had no windows at all. This crucial detail isn't highlighted in the room title/description; instead, it's discreetly buried in an icon. Then, upon arrival, you're told you need to pay extra if you want to upgrade to a room with a window. Other chains, like Hanting or Atour, are much more transparent. Whether a room has an inner window or no window at all, it's clearly stated upfront, often even displayed prominently. Some even install a 'false window' inside the room to improve the sense of comfort. There's also no need to bother with breakfast at the hotel. You can easily walk to a local chain near Cuihu Lake for their flaky buns (破酥包) and mixed rice noodles (拌饵丝). After all, the location is really the only redeeming quality of this place.

((o^∀^o)ViVinuanxinThis hotel is perfect for early morning flights, located directly on the 2nd floor of the terminal building. From the hotel, you can take an elevator straight up to the 3rd floor, which is the departures level. It's incredibly convenient, especially if you have an early flight the next day. The room was exactly as advertised in the pictures – clean and well-maintained. After checking in, you have the option to drop off your luggage for check-in at 9:30 PM, which makes for a much smoother and stress-free boarding process the following morning. The only minor drawback is that the price is a bit on the higher side, but it's completely understandable given the unparalleled convenience of being located right inside the terminal. The service was excellent. Knowing I was traveling with a child and had an early flight, they specifically reminded me about the early wake-up time. They also realized we wouldn't have time for breakfast, so they thoughtfully provided us with cartons of Telunsu milk and flower pastries to take with us. My schedule was tight, so I didn't get a chance to take photos of the hotel, but let me share some beautiful scenery from my trip to Southeast Yunnan! Yunnan truly boasts stunning mountains and waters, and it's definitely a place I'll visit again. I'll certainly choose the Ji Hotel (Airport Terminal) again next time.

GGuest UserBorn in 1999, I've always had a special affinity for turn-of-the-millennium architecture. These grand, classic structures, embodying bold visions of the future, also exude a 'dreamcore'-like surreal atmosphere that perfectly aligned with all my childhood aspirations for big cities.
The Kunming Grand Park Hotel also opened its doors in 1999. While its facilities might show the passage of time, it still retains an old-world elegance and style. I particularly enjoyed the slow-moving, retro-decorated elevator; each ride felt like a brief journey through time. Walking through the corridors, it was as if time had gently receded, transporting me back to the atmosphere of the early 2000s.
I often found myself standing by the window, gazing out at the city's evolving skyline in the distance. I couldn't help but wonder: What would the person who stayed in this very room twenty years ago have been like? Did they also stand by this same window, gazing at the sky and street views of their time, filled with anticipation or uncertainty about the future? It felt as if a thin membrane of time separated us, invisible to each other, yet sharing the exact same view in that moment.
I loved it here so much; it felt like opening a window to another time. Yet, as night fell, the clearer that atmosphere from the past became, the more it evoked a gentle melancholy—like a grand, yet now untouchable, old dream. And precisely for this reason, I know I will certainly return.

GGlenysMFairyland Shangpin Hotel in Kunming, is a really nice hotel, in a terrific location….. but as the extra bit in title mentions, is in a pedestrian street, therefore if you have a mountain of luggage, or mobility issues, or toddlers & babies to carry, you might want to think twice about booking here or in any other hotel in the pedestrian streets in the neighbourhood. It’s one of the fabulous features of the area, but you do need to be aware that vehicles are not allowed in this area….. AND …. the only way into the hotel is via a flight of stairs.
My Grab driver from the airport dropped me off where his gps directed him to, but it meant an overly long walk lugging my bag through crowds of tourists on a stinking hot Sunday arv on cobbled streets (obviously not designed when wheeled suitcases were invented!). I discovered the next day that Wuyi Rd subway station is really close to the hotel… less than a 5 minute walk away. Turn left outside the hotel entrance. Turn right at the corner (150m away), and one of the entrances to the subway is just along there on the right. When I looked it up, it turns out it takes half the time to & from the airport as it does by car and costs next to nothing, so I caught it to the airport (just 1 easy transfer along the way), and was really glad I did. It’s a pity the hotel doesn’t include that important info in its listing!
The hotel’s Reception & dining room staff are all super friendly and nice, and my room was really lovely, with a great shower, power points that my Australian hair straightener and phone chargers plugged straight into, and a big window that opens and which overlooks rooftops, alleyways, cafes, high-rises and lots more. There’s also a window beside every lift entrance, so you can all the locals dancing in the public square, which is just fabulous!
There is a laundry for guest use on the same floor as the breakfast room, but every time I checked, both machines were in use, so I wouldn’t count on getting any washing done if you’re only staying for a couple of days.
Loved wandering around the cobbled streets (from right outside the hotel), day & night. Lots to see & do. Lots of colour, lots of people (including all the locals folk dancing together in the square), lots of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. Highly recommend Fairyland Shangpin Hotel to those who are ok with walking (& pulling luggage) over cobblestones, and up & down stairs to and from the hotels entrances (one to the front door, and a second entrance near the lift). It’s worth it! ☺️

The staff provided exceptional service, always accommodating and ready to assist. However, the rooms do not have air conditioning. While Yunnan nights are generally cool, and the hotel kindly provided two fans, those who are sensitive to heat might still find themselves waking up warm. It's something to keep in mind.

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.

GGuest UserThe hotel is newly renovated, the room is very comfortable, there is a snack street downstairs, it is convenient, the hotel service is very good, and it is also very close to the high-speed rail. Relatively speaking, it is comfortable to stay and the experience is good. You can choose this hotel if you are transiting nearby!

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.
2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
