"I accidentally misplaced a laundry bag while doing my laundry. It was a souvenir I'd brought from my previous hotel and something I was quite fond of. The staff offered to check the security cameras for me, but I told them it wasn't worth the hassle for something of such little value. To my surprise, they called me that afternoon to inform me they had found the laundry bag – what a wonderful surprise! The hotel's service was outstanding, and the breakfast restaurant had a lovely ambiance. Photos included!"

"Minimalist approach by the hotel needs improvement, the towels are little old and best replaced, the toiletry is basic and needs to be replenished with more without asking
There were two receptionists, one is very polite and helpful providing a very pleasant service. however, the other is completely opposite, being unhelpful, provides bare minimum in answer and seems that any query is a bother to her. So training to upskilled to the latter is required.
The accommodation is a motel style that is close to the Tangzixiang metro and walking distance to the kunming old town . Very convenient for travellers who just need a bed and a shower to rest.

"Holiday Inn Kunming City Centre – this place is truly a luxurious hideaway in the urban jungle! The location is absolutely unbeatable, placing you right in the heart of Kunming the moment you step out. Shopping, dining, and sightseeing attractions are all within easy walking distance; it's so convenient, my navigation app felt completely redundant.
The room was so spacious it felt like there was a VIP lane just for my luggage. The bed was so incredibly soft, it could turn anyone into a 'Sleeping Beauty' (though I was most likely roused by the morning sun). The bathroom boasted water pressure strong enough to almost surf, turning a simple shower into a mini-vacation by Dian Lake. But the absolute highlight was breakfast: freshly prepared Cross-Bridge Noodles and Flower Pastries, and even the soy milk carried that unique Yunnan sweetness. I nearly turned the hotel into my personal canteen!
The gentleman at the front desk had a smile as bright and inviting as Kunming's weather. Upon check-out, he even surprised me with a packet of Pu'er tea as a thoughtful souvenir. This gesture alone instantly made me a loyal fan! Next time I'm in Kunming, my feet will undoubtedly find their way back here automatically. "This was our second hotel in Kunming. Compared to the dazzling variety of unique guesthouses, an established star-rated hotel often doesn't stand out as much. My husband even echoed my thoughts, saying, 'Let's just go with this one.' At first, I felt that paying over 600 RMB here didn't quite offer the same value or 'Instagrammable' charm as a 500+ RMB guesthouse, and it lacked anything truly special. However, for business travelers or anyone needing a truly good night's sleep, it's an excellent choice. The double-glazed windows provide superb soundproofing, and the hotel's service, bedding, and attention to detail are all quite commendable. I wouldn't recommend it for a leisure trip, though, as there isn't much to explore in the nearby old streets. For hotel visuals, it's best to check their official photos, as I only took a couple of quick snaps."

GGuest UserThis is my second stay at Ji Hotel. I feel that half the price here is just for the location. Honestly, if you have other options, I'd suggest paying a bit more for a hotel with more character. Both twin rooms face the street, and the soundproofing at night was quite poor. Another odd design choice was a step right outside the guest elevator on the fourth floor, which is a very strange layout. I also don't quite understand Ji Hotel's room categorization or listing logic. For instance, refrigerators aren't standard; only rooms explicitly marked in the description have one. What's worse, the other double room we booked had no windows at all. This crucial detail isn't highlighted in the room title/description; instead, it's discreetly buried in an icon. Then, upon arrival, you're told you need to pay extra if you want to upgrade to a room with a window. Other chains, like Hanting or Atour, are much more transparent. Whether a room has an inner window or no window at all, it's clearly stated upfront, often even displayed prominently. Some even install a 'false window' inside the room to improve the sense of comfort. There's also no need to bother with breakfast at the hotel. You can easily walk to a local chain near Cuihu Lake for their flaky buns (破酥包) and mixed rice noodles (拌饵丝). After all, the location is really the only redeeming quality of this place.

AAnonymous UserI booked this hotel on Ctrip because my child had a very early international flight the next day. It's about a 17-18 minute drive from the airport, and honestly, the free airport shuttle service was the main draw.
The shuttle van arrived promptly for my son's early morning flight. However, there were numerous steps from the hotel entrance down to where the van was parked. With all our luggage, my son and his father really struggled to lift the bags up the steps and into the vehicle.
In the afternoon, we checked out, as our flight from Kunming was later that evening. I appreciate the hotel's complimentary late check-out until 2 PM. We were told the shuttle would pick us up at the back entrance. To our surprise, there were no steps there, making us wonder why the morning shuttle had parked at the front, forcing us to lug our heavy bags up all those stairs! It was just a few steps from the back door to the van. As my husband opened the trunk (it was a van) to load our two bags, the driver suddenly snapped at us, yelling, 'Can you hurry up?! What are you dawdling for?! I have another pickup! Move it!' His tone and impatient demeanor made it seem like we owed him money; he gave us such a sour look, as if taking us was a huge favor. What kind of service is that, yelling at guests to rush?
To make matters worse, at the airport, he dropped us off at the arrival level parking lot, right next to where he was picking up new guests. We had to push our luggage (and I was limping due to a leg injury, so walking was difficult) across a massive parking lot to find the airport entrance, and then drag our bags floor by floor to reach the departure level. The driver could easily have dropped us directly at the departure level first, then proceeded to the arrival pick-up zone!
Your hotel, located just a few kilometers from the airport, relies on transit passengers who value convenience and, most importantly, your free airport shuttle service. The room rate should inherently cover the cost of this shuttle. The airport transfer service is an integral part of your hotel's offerings. So why is it that your front desk staff are consistently friendly and helpful, yet your shuttle drivers are all uniformly rude and unpleasant, barely offering a civil word or a polite expression, acting as if transporting guests is an enormous inconvenience? If the van could have parked at the back entrance where there are no steps, why did the morning driver deliberately stop at the front? And why are the drivers so aggressive once they pick up guests? If they're so unwilling to do their job, they shouldn't be in this profession. Who would ever choose to stay at an airport hotel with such appalling shuttle service? Avoid this place at all costs! Glaring fiercely in the rearview mirror with a murderous look – what kind of service industry professional behaves like that?

From the hotel, you can take an elevator straight up to the 3rd floor, which is the departures level. It's incredibly convenient, especially if you have an early flight the next day. The room was exactly as advertised in the pictures – clean and well-maintained. After checking in, you have the option to drop off your luggage for check-in at 9:30 PM, which makes for a much smoother and stress-free boarding process the following morning. The only minor drawback is that the price is a bit on the higher side, but it's completely understandable given the unparalleled convenience of being located right inside the terminal. The service was excellent. Knowing I was traveling with a child and had an early flight, they specifically reminded me about the early wake-up time. They also realized we wouldn't have time for breakfast, so they thoughtfully provided us with cartons of Telunsu milk and flower pastries to take with us. My schedule was tight, so I didn't get a chance to take photos of the hotel, but let me share some beautiful scenery from my trip to Southeast Yunnan! Yunnan truly boasts stunning mountains and waters, and it's definitely a place I'll visit again. I'll certainly choose the Ji Hotel (Airport Terminal) again next time.

MMalaysia Solo TravellerWe only stayed one night in Kunming, arriving late and leaving early for a day tour—so it was a quick stop. That said, the host was responsive to our questions even at midnight, which i really appreciated.
What stood out was the thoughtful room layout. We booked a double bed and a single bed, and since we’re siblings, the way the space was partitioned gave us a good sense of privacy. It made the short stay comfortable.
Didn’t get to explore much else, but for a night’s rest, it was a pleasant experience.

GGuest UserIt is a short stay so not using a lot of hotel facilities. Only used the hotel swimming pool which is good. Breakfast choices are full of varieties with Western and Chinese styles.
I was most impressed by the service of hotel. As I had issues checking in our flight, Sally, the front desk manager, helped me a lot by calling the airline. She also helped me to get a cab as the cab driver had gone to a wrong entrance. The service of hotel is very good.

The staff provided exceptional service, always accommodating and ready to assist. However, the rooms do not have air conditioning. While Yunnan nights are generally cool, and the hotel kindly provided two fans, those who are sensitive to heat might still find themselves waking up warm. It's something to keep in mind.

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.

This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
