Overall Impression Our stay provided a generally pleasant experience, highlighted by the generous hospitality of the team and an exceptionally convenient location. While a few aspects of the room ambiance could be slightly enhanced, the property offers wonderful convenience for travelers exploring the area. Service & Hospitality The hotel staff were exceptionally accommodating throughout our stay. Upon our arrival, the team thoughtfully offered us a complimentary room upgrade to accommodations with windows. Furthermore, when we requested a late check-out, the staff graciously facilitated our request without any hesitation, which made our departure delightfully stress-free. Room & Amenities The room was impressively spacious, impeccably clean, and maintained to a very neat standard. The amenities provided met all our practical needs for a comfortable stay. While the room leaned towards a somewhat dim atmosphere—partly because the windows were either tinted or positioned facing an adjacent wall—the overall cleanliness and generous layout made for a restful retreat. Location & Accessibility The property truly shines in its location. It fully delivers on its promise of proximity to major local attractions and is just a short stroll away from the Nanping Pedestrian Street, making daily sight-seeing and dining remarkably effortless

Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a King Executive Room, which was spacious and comfortable. The hygiene was excellent, and the shower was great. The service at this long-standing hotel was top-notch; they even thoughtfully stored our valuables in an inner room when we checked our luggage. The hotel's location is extremely convenient. There's a mall downstairs with many affordable luxury brands. It's a short taxi ride to Kunming Station, and within walking distance of Cuihu Park and Kunming Old Street, which we simply walked to. There are plenty of dining options nearby; even when we arrived late, we found delicious beef pancakes and rice noodles downstairs.

Overall, the service was good and the staff were helpful. The bed was also comfortable and everything was fine during our stay. The biggest issue for me was the bathroom design. There is no proper barrier between the shower area and the rest of the bathroom, so the floor gets very wet after showering. I actually slipped and fell once because of the wet floor, so I think this is something the hotel should improve for guests’ safety. On the positive side, the hotel is located right in the heart of the city, so it’s very convenient and close to many places. For Muslim travellers, it’s also very easy to find halal food as there are plenty of halal restaurants around the area. One thing to note is that DiDi usually drops passengers at Four Seasons, and from there you need to walk around 200 metres to reach the hotel. Not a big issue, but good to know in advance. Overall, the location is excellent and very convenient, but I hope the hotel can improve the bathroom design to make it safer for guests.

Overall, we had a very comfortable stay here. The hotel was clean and the location was great — conveniently located around the centre of most of the tourist attractions, so getting around was really easy. The bed was comfortable, although it was a little small for 4 people. Breakfast was good with plenty of options to choose from. One small thing to note is that the reception is on Level 7, so you’ll need to head up there for check-in. I also liked the laundry setup! You can actually check the TV in your room to see how many washing machines and dryers are available, which was surprisingly useful 😂 The hotel also gave us a complimentary 2-hour late check-out, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a clean and convenient place to stay with some thoughtful touches!

Location: Great location right on Nanping Road, with several bubble tea shops downstairs and close to the pedestrian street, making it super convenient for late-night snacks. Hygiene: Decent, though there seemed to be some mold on the ceiling and similar areas. Facilities: The curtains had a slight flaw, but everything else was fine. A tip: check the weather forecast before booking the starry sky room; the sound of rain can be so loud it's impossible to sleep. Service: Excellent.

Such a lovely place to stay in Kunming. The staff speak English, and the location is perfect, everything is easily accessible, from the lake to Kunming Old Street, Nanping Pedestrian Street, and even a local fresh market nearby. What I really loved is that it’s a mix of both Chinese and international travelers. If you’re traveling solo, you’ll probably make friends here in no time. I was genuinely surprised to see people of all age groups just hanging out and having a great time together. One small thing to note, there’s no elevator. So if you’re carrying heavy luggage, getting to the top floor can be a bit of a task. Smoking in allowed in the common area, a warning is that you will be passive smoking. My favorite part has to be their cafe and restaurant. After a long day, it was so comforting to not worry about finding food outside. They’re open until 11 pm, and the food is genuinely good. Morning coffee was sorted too. I already miss my favorite Oreo drink, both mocha and chocolate milk, please share the recipe😭. We only stayed here on our arrival and departure days, but ended up eating at their cozy restaurant most of the time. They also have some nice vegetarian options. If I ever come back, I would definitely stay here again. I absolutely loved the place, the vibe, and the people. I was also really curious about the story behind the owner after reading the little note in the menu, but couldn’t find more about it. Wishing you good health and happiness.🌷

What can I say about this hotel? I stay here every time I come to Kunming, so it's safe to say it's true love. First, the location is unbeatable. It's right across from the Yunnan Provincial Library, just a short walk to Cuihu Lake, and surrounded by plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options. It's a real gem. Second, the value for money is outstanding. For this location, cleanliness, and comfort, you'd easily pay hundreds more in other cities. Here, it's a quiet oasis in the bustling city, all for under 500 yuan. Thumbs up! Third, the breakfast is quite substantial. Also worth mentioning, the bread from the hotel's pastry shop is delicious 😋 and not too sweet.

Staying at 'The Cat's Horizon' hotel for my trip was an excellent choice! The natural wood design and warm lighting create a very relaxing atmosphere. It's right in the city center, just a few minutes' walk to Kunming Old Street, Nanping Pedestrian Street, and Xiangyun Food City. The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. The best part was their zero-pressure mattress – it really was incredibly comfortable for sleeping. It was fantastic to grab some snacks and just chat together. Highly recommended, 10 out of 10!

I felt quite comfortable during my stay, no disappointments whatsoever. The room was meticulously cleaned, making it very relaxing to settle in, and all the daily essentials were well-stocked. My honest review of my stay at the Orange Crystal Hotel (Kunming Nanping Pedestrian Street): 1. **Convenient Location, but Very Unfriendly for Self-Driving/Chartered Cars** The hotel's location is indeed very convenient, close to Nanping Pedestrian Street, making it easy to get around and shop. However, since vehicles cannot directly enter the pedestrian street, it's extremely inconvenient for guests with large luggage. While the hotel has an underground parking lot, chartered 7-seater vehicles like ours generally cannot drive directly into it. We had to get off a short distance from the hotel and drag all our luggage there. If you're a foreign tourist or traveling by chartered car, I recommend confirming whether your vehicle can directly reach the hotel before booking. 2. **Good Service Attitude, but Overall Slow Response Time** The hotel staff generally have a friendly attitude. I particularly want to thank a few female staff members who helped us carry our heavy luggage down the stairs to where our chartered car could park – I'm truly grateful. However, the hotel's response time for guest requests for item delivery or assistance was noticeably slow, with generally long waiting times. I'm not sure if it was due to understaffing at the time, but I believe the stay experience would be significantly improved if they could strengthen staff allocation and response efficiency. 3. **”Four-Star Hotel” vs. Actual Experience – A Significant Discrepancy** This was the most disappointing aspect of our stay. The hotel is labeled as four-star, but if you expect it to meet the standards of a typical four-star hotel, there's a noticeable gap in the overall facilities and environment. The rooms, corridors, and some public areas appear quite dated, and there's a somewhat strong musty smell in the hotel. Although the hotel information states that it has been renovated in recent years, you can still feel the traces of many old facilities during your actual stay. Plus, the room rate isn't cheap. So, if you're choosing based on **”four-star hotel standards,”** my friends and I would both advise lowering your expectations a bit, otherwise, you might experience significant disappointment upon arrival. **Overall:** Location is the hotel's biggest advantage, and the staff's attitude is good, but there's room for improvement in terms of transportation convenience, service response speed, and the overall condition of the hotel facilities. Especially for foreign tourists, those with large luggage, or travelers with chartered cars, I recommend confirming the actual drop-off/pick-up situation and luggage handling before booking.
