ESIM FOR VIETNAM

Arriving in Vietnam, I don’t want to deal with expensive roaming or finding a SIM card after a long flight. With an eSIM, I can go online the moment I land, open Google Maps, message family, and book a Grab without any hassle. It’s simple, fast, and just makes the whole trip easier.

❤️Pro Tip: When planning your visit, consider booking flights to Vietnam and Vietnam hotels in advance to secure the best rates.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM card built into your phone, so you don’t need to insert anything physically. You can activate it in minutes, and once you arrive in Vietnam, your data works right away. No need to find a SIM card or deal with setup. It’s a simple way to stay online for maps, messages, and booking rides without paying high roaming fees.

Who Are the Main Telco Operators in Vietnam?

Who Are the Main Telco Operators in Vietnam?

Viettel : Strong signal almost everywhere, even outside cities. If you plan to travel around Vietnam, this is the safest choice. Reliable and easy to use.

MobiFone : Works well in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. Good for daily use like maps and Grab. Best if you stay mostly in city areas.

Vinaphone : Affordable and stable in cities. Can still work outside the city, but not as strong as Viettel. Good middle option.

Vietnamobile : Cheapest option. Fine for city use, but signal may drop in rural areas. Better for short stays in one place.

✈️ Pro Tip: If you are planning a trip soon, look for flights to Vietnam early so you can get better prices and more schedule options.

How to Choose the Best Vietnam eSIM?

Ha Long Bay

Coverage : Vietnam has good signal, but it depends where you go. If you plan to travel outside the city, choose providers like Viettel or MobiFone. They are more stable when you move around.

Usage : If you only use social media, chat, and light maps, 1GB per day is usually enough. If you use maps a lot, watch videos, or upload content, better go for 2GB per day so you don’t suddenly run out.

Pricing : Data in Vietnam is quite cheap. Just check what is included. Some plans look cheap but have limits or slow speed after usage.

Flexibility : Choose a plan that you can easily top up. Sometimes you use more data than expected, so it’s good if you can extend anytime.

Services : Check if hotspot is allowed. This is useful if you share internet. Some plans also work in nearby countries, which is good if you travel around.

My family of three stayed at this hotel during the New Year's Day holiday and were extremely satisfied. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, and the service was prompt (we requested an extra bed, an ice bucket, wine glasses, etc.). The location is superb, right in the heart of Hoan Kiem Lake. The staff were also very professional and enthusiastic. If I get the chance to visit Hanoi again, I will definitely choose this place.

Very attentive. Fast and efficient staff. It was my mom’s birthday and they went above and beyond to make the day special.  The staff are all friendly . When we needed a shower chair for our senior citizen mother, within minutes it came up to our room.  I felt that this small request made us feel extemely special to them.  The door staff are so attentive and chatty. Its a good feel for making us so special.

The location is not too far from the old quarters and quiet close to the Japanese street, it suitable for those prefer a bit more quiet stay yet convenient to get a taxi to travel anywhere. The breakfast is good but not cheap. Even though the building is clearly a bit dated but the facilities are well maintained and staffs are very friendly and helpful.

We had such an amazing stay at Anatole Hotel Hanoi. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and always made the return back to the hotel such a wonderful experience to look forward to each and every time. Special shout out to Clara who greeted us every morning at breakfast! Speaking of breakfast, we loved the spread they offered every morning from Vietnamese cuisine to western they covered it all. The room was very clean and the beds were so comfortable that sometimes I preferred to stay in and enjoy the room rather than go out and explore. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you were to ever consider staying in Hanoi. Everything is within walking distance from here.

The hotel was pretty big compared to neighborhood hotels, of course it was not like Hilton hotel but there was enough space for relaxing in the hotel lobby and guest room was big enough for two people and clean. All staff were very friendly and kind. One day, we were waiting for the ride to Ha Long bay, the staff called to the driver when he arrived instead of us. Breakfast buffet was amazing, a lot of different food there, we ate too much every morning. Overall, I definitely recommend this hotel and i would go again if I have a chance.

This has got to be our all-time favourite hotel stay ever! If we could give higher ratings, we would - especially for service. They treated us exceptionally well, were on hand to take care of our every need, and regularly greeted us like family. It was such a welcoming environment, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and has everything you need. The location is fantastic too, right in the old quarter, convenient to most sights and attractions. We have already booked another stay, and plan to come again in the future. We absolutely love it here, definitely recommend.

The staff at this hotel were exceptionally kind and helpful! I've travelled to more than 30 countries and stayed in loads of hotels. The staff here were the some of the kindest I've ever encountered. We stayed for two nights before traveling around Vietnam and at the end of our trip decided to return to this hotel again because of the nice people who work here. Also, for those looking for a location close to a lot of sites and restaurants, I recommend this one.

It was a really beautiful stay in Hanoi at Parosand hotel. The location is actually fantastic: you need around 30 mins by public bus, or 15 minutes by taxi to get to the city center. Here in the neighbourhood are plenty of nice Vietnamese restaurants. As someone mentioned in the comments, it is far away from the city center - but reality of Hanoi is a bit different from other cities, and if you want to stay in a convenient and not noisy place - it is the best you can choose. Restaurant upstairs offers nice breakfast - please, note, that is a Vietnamese cuisine place - and yes, there is pork, beef, chicken, and other ingredients. Also, rooms are equipped with the kitchen zone, where you can cook yourself. Overall, it was really nice.

Rooms are a bit compact, but that is expected in the Old Quarter. Bed was very comfortable and the room was fine for a short business stay. There is a desk that is ok for short periods of work. The shower leaks water over the bathroom floor and around the toilet. That is probably more the fault of some ***** interior designer hired to do the refurbishment, than it is of the hotel. There is no seal at one end of the shower wall and there is no door on the shower. All very ”modern” but idiotically ineffective. Ask for an extra towel to mop up water after a shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was better than average for an Asian hotel, but really just adequate on an international scale. The hotel is very conveniently located but getting a taxi or Grab to the hotel requires a fair bit of twisting around the Old Quarter. The streets to the hotel are blocked during the night market on weekends.

The staff were super friendly and helpful upon checking in, from explaining the amenities, to the staff assisting us into the room with our luggage. Breakfast was very tasty - different items you can order (chicken pho, beef pho, scrambled eggs, etc) along with fresh seasonal fruit, juices, coffee, toast, congee, ham, bacon, hard boiled eggs, etc. I personally really enjoyed their pho ga (chicken pho) and was eating that every morning we were there. When we decided to check out Halong Bay, the staff was super helpful and sent information via WhatsApp for us to peruse at our convenience and confirm if we wanted to book or not. With it being kind of warm (or we just sweat a lot from all the exploring and eating haha) Vacanza Hotel thankfully offers laundry service. The laundry was estimated to be ready either that night or the next morning, but was ready that night! Washed, dried, and folded. One of the biggest benefits of staying at Vacanza is the location - central in the Old Quarter and close to everything and Grab rides. We would definitely come back and stay here!

This is Hanoi's most historically legendary hotel, originally opening in 1901 as the Grand Metropole Hanoi, and becoming the world's first Sofitel Legend in 2009. I recommend staying in the Historical Wing, specifically a Premium Luxury room facing the garden pool, as they are significantly larger. Outside the hotel, you'll find one of the old quarter's most upscale and popular Instagram hotspots, where beautifully dressed and exquisitely made-up women come to pose for photos with each other or hire photographers to capture their best angles. Nearly all of Hanoi's few remaining luxury boutiques are located on the ground floor of the hotel and along the street leading to the Opera House. Amidst these shops, you'll also spot old buildings and cigarette stalls at alley entrances, creating a truly unique urban landscape.

A stay brushed in gold — beautiful, with a few areas to refine
. Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake is certainly visually striking. The hotel is incredibly photogenic, and while the overall experience was lovely in many ways, it leaned more towards being aesthetically impressive than feeling like a seamless 5-star stay. 📍 Location
The location is quieter and less central than the Old Quarter, which is worth considering if you enjoy being close to major attractions. That said, the lakeside setting created a calm, peaceful atmosphere that we really appreciated. ✨ Highlights
The personalised service from the front desk and door staff was a real highlight. They remembered our names and room number throughout our stay, which felt thoughtful and welcoming. Our room was spacious and the lake view was genuinely beautiful. The gym was clean, updated, and perfectly adequate for a comfortable workout. The buffet breakfast offered a wide range of options and variety. ⚠️ Areas for improvement
There were a few small details that, with a little more attention, could elevate the experience even further. We were provided with an ironing board that wasn’t in working condition and an iron that was missing parts, which caused a slight delay to our plans one morning. A replacement iron was provided, however it was marked and unfortunately left a small stain on one of my garments. The pickleball court was located in a basement area that felt a little unfinished and could benefit from some added care and presentation. The rooftop pool offered lovely skyline views, however the space itself felt quite quiet, with worn lounge chairs and limited ambience. A poolside bar or some soft music could really enhance the atmosphere and make this area more inviting. One evening, an event held above our room resulted in music and drums being audible late into the night, which impacted rest. Better soundproofing could help ensure guest comfort during events. The laundry service was priced at the higher end, and a price list wasn’t provided. While we could have asked in advance, clearer upfront pricing would have made the experience a little smoother. Breakfast service was pleasant, though it felt less interactive compared to other 4- and 5-star hotels we stayed at in Hanoi, where staff were especially proactive in checking in with guests, offering recommendations, and seeking feedback. 🌿 Final thoughts
A very beautiful hotel with warm front-facing staff, spacious rooms, and lovely views. With a little more attention to detail and consistency in service, this property has the potential to offer a truly exceptional luxury experience. A wonderful stay in many ways, with just a few opportunities to shine even brighter.

I booked the room, arrived at the hotel to check-in, and got told that the room I booked, was not available. They moved us to the Splendid Hotel, opposite. It wasn't bad, but it was a massive price difference. Only something I looked into the following morning. I was not happy with that sort of dishonesty. I did not even get compensated. So, I'm not going to advise, nor book this hotel again. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this good hotel

We arrived in Hanoi super early in the morning, and the staff was very helpful on keeping our luggage and even allowed us to check in around 11am. Same budget can find better. Hotel location is in the alley but easy to walk to the main road. The alley is very lively, the whole alley is doing business, if you want to experience local life is also good, but the view from the room depends on everyone's preferences, my room is the roof of someone else's house. There was no towel in the room after check in. It seemed that the hotel had some difficulties. I got the towel very late and the air conditioner was a bit dripping. Breakfast is very simple and it is recommended that you do not need to order extra breakfast. The hotel has to climb the stairs to get there. If there is a large luggage and inconvenient feet, it will be a little trouble. Overall, it’s okay, but the same budget can find better.

I stayed in a mixed room. I, a single girl, was put in a room with 5 guys. There was a razor in the bathroom, the toilet was not flushed, things were scattered around the room. But these are situational things and here it depends on your luck with the neighbors. But the main minus is that there is a bar upstairs of the hostel, neighbors (including from other rooms) drank until the middle of the night. The hostel has poor soundproofing and it was impossible to sleep in such conditions. The next night I moved to another hostel. Pros: + clean bed linen + normal water in the shower + great location in the center + good breakfast. Cons: - noisy, poor soundproofing - don't give a towel - potentially drunk neighbors because of the rooftop bar (but for some, the bar is a plus) If you are a young person and are planning to have fun and drink in Hanoi, then you probably won't find any downsides to this hostel. If you need a good night's sleep, then this is definitely not your option.

It was terrible visit I stayed 2 nights and every single morning they start the construction for renovation or something(I don't know well actually) The problem is that the noise is too loud to sleep with drilling and hammering sound. The manager of the hotel, gave me some options like move to other room or a little more sleep at other room But, the issue was they don't have any will to stop doing that construction If the hotel has any plan for reconstruction or any related plan, then they should have noticed But they did nothing but saying sorry

Staffs were very nice, polite, professional and helpful. Location was great, many nice foods around. Room is big & clean. Except the shower room water does not go down, water will flood out to floor within one minute, and because at night there’s no one at the reception, I couldn’t have a shower at all.

The hotel appears to be in a poor condition and needs major renovation. Rooms are big but you can see that they are not well cleaned. Lighting is also poor and could use more warm lights. Breakfast and service was great!

+ Very nice personnel, good english. Great appliances in the kitchen, very clean and functional, and some have microwave. Good breakfast options. (Washing machine, oven, bread grill, ironing plank...) - sometimes bathtub is a bit old and shower gel single portion is not the best very difficult to open and you only have one for 2. Only one towels for body not for hair. A bit old playgrounds and swimming pool. - some rooms are a bit far from the entry But the location a bit remote and calm, only 5 minutes from good restaurants and activity.

The hotel's location is excellent and it's a beautiful property. We could walk to all the city's attractions, and the breakfast was fantastic. It's an older hotel that's been renovated, so some of the room amenities are a bit dated, which is understandable.

The hotel is located in the middle of Hanoi's tourist Old Quarter and is decorated in French style. For me the hotel had the perfect location. There is nothing negative about the entire hotel! Particularly noteworthy was the incredibly friendly and courteous staff!! I can only warmly recommend this hotel to every visitor to Hanoi and thanks again to the great staff!!

The hotel boasts an excellent location, offering a quiet retreat in the midst of a bustling area, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. The rooms were reasonably clean, though the facilities felt a little dated. The staff were quite friendly. Overall, I'd give it a solid four-star recommendation.

A nice boutique we stayed at for 3 nights in Nov 2024. Staff were extremely friendly and service was great. The manager addressed us by name which was a pretty nice touch. For the price paid, the rooms were good value. The only downside in my opinion was the shower. It takes about 3-5 minutes for the hot water to start and from my experience the water was hotter in the evening/night and not very hot in the morning. Other than that, location was excellent, in the heart of a busy area but from my room I couldn't hear the traffic which was great. Front desk was helpful with food recommendations around the area. Will definitely consider staying here again next time I'm back in Hanoi.

This hotel was a very welcome change and I was extremely happy I moved here. I came to this property after leaving another hotel that was unbearably noisy inside the building. This hotel was quiet, comfortable, and immediately felt more relaxing. The location is excellent. It sits right on the border of the Old Town and the French Quarter, which makes it easy to get almost anywhere on foot. Hoan Kiem Lake is about one block away, and there are plenty of cafés, pharmacies, and convenience stores nearby. It felt much less congested and far easier to walk around in than other parts of the Old Town. The room was very clean and well maintained. The shower had abundant hot water with good water pressure, which made a big difference after long days out. Sound insulation was good, and I slept well. The breakfast buffet on the second floor was excellent. It was well executed, fresh, and abundant, with plenty of choices and good replenishment. Overall, this hotel offered comfort, calm, and convenience in a great location. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who wants easy access to the city without the constant noise and congestion. Huge thanks to Lucas, Danny and Daisy!

The hotel's location is excellent; all the surrounding attractions are within walking distance, and it's very close to the Water Puppet Theatre. Train Street is a bit further out, but Uniqlo and a church are nearby. If you book a day trip, they also offer pick-up and drop-off services. The staff are very friendly and always ready to help with any issues. Breakfast was especially satisfying, with a wide variety of fresh options. The made-to-order menu, particularly the beef pho, was even more delicious than any I've had outside. The daily special soup noodles were also very good. A Grab taxi for six people from the airport cost 360,000 VND. We used the complimentary vouchers at the sky bar for cocktails, but note that a service charge applies.

The hotel might not look big from the outside, but it's surprisingly spacious and full of character within. Its location is absolutely fantastic, right by Hoan Kiem Lake and not far from St. Joseph's Cathedral. The area around it is packed with street food vendors and massage parlors. The rooms aren't huge, but they are incredibly clean and have a charming, antique feel. The staff were all wonderful. We arrived late at night, and as soon as we pulled up, a bellhop came out to help us with our luggage and offered us refreshing drinks and snacks – so thoughtful! What impressed me most was the breakfast on the top floor; everything was delicious, whether it was the pho, spring rolls, or pastries. When we checked out, our car was a short walk away, and a staff member rushed ahead to help us load our bags into the vehicle. It was a truly perfect stay. Highly recommend it – you won't be disappointed!

The hotel contacted me on WhatsApp before our stay to offer tours to other cities since they’re also a travel agency. We didn’t reply, but when we arrived after a long flight, instead of checking us in right away, the staff still tried to sell us some tours. I didn’t really mind, but I was tired and wouldn’t book anything last minute anyway. The elevator is quite slow, and even with it, you still have to go down one flight of stairs to reach your room. As soon as we opened the door, there was a strong unpleasant smell. The staff said it was because they had just cleaned and suggested we leave the door open for several minutes — not ideal when all you want to do is rest. They provide complimentary water, coffee, and tea, and breakfast is included. However, the breakfast spread is the same every day, and the bread is already pre-toasted, so it’s cold by the time you get to the small dining area. If you come down late, there’s usually not much food left. Basic toiletries like towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and shampoo are provided. The bathroom has a bidet, but the shower’s water pressure is quite weak. Note that the hotel is **not accessible by car** — taxis will drop you off nearby, and you’ll have to walk a bit and find your way via Google Maps. The location is very central, just a one-minute walk to St. Joseph’s Cathedral and surrounded by many restaurants, cafés, and spas. It may look a bit sketchy at first, but this seems typical for the Old Quarter area. Soundproofing is poor — you can hear noise from the street and even from the next room. Some balusters on the staircase are coming loose, and there were red hairs in the shower area, which suggests it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. The facilities overall feel quite old. If you’re particular about cleanliness and comfort, this hotel might not meet your expectations. But if you just need a cheap, central place to crash for a night or two, it’s manageable.

Mixed experience with this hotel. First the good things: the location is great, right in between old town and central government buildings, museums etc., the staff are helpful and friendly, there’s a nice bar on the rooftop and a lovely spa too, there’s even a guide of some good restaurants nearby. The not so good: the room we were given had one tiny window (unlike the room pictures on Trip.com) and felt very dark, so we chose to downgrade ourselves to a smaller room with windows on two sides for more light. The walls of the rooms were thin, so we were kept up very late by chatter next door one night then woken up by a screaming child early next morning - not the hotel’s fault, but to be aware. The rooms weren’t that clean (hair hanging off the shower head etc). We were also ridiculously overcharged for a room service item, the staff were very nice and removed it from the bill when we queried, and offered us free breakfast to make up for it, but the breakfast was distinctly not as good (less variety, less fresh, Vietnamese coffee charged extra) as the one we’d had at a similarly priced Saigon hotel the previous days.

Amazing and welcoming staff! Location was great, close to the lake and the night market is right there on the weekends. Location is great. It's smaller than I thought, but it's a nice hotel with a doorman. I can't speak Japanese. English or Vietnamese. The room is clean and has everything you need. The rooftop pool is small but perfect for cooling down a hot body. Bar was not popular. Good view. Breakfast was delicious, but it was a pity that the pho was sold out. I overslept on the day I left and was slapped, but thank you for your kindness.

Attracted by the ancient St. Joseph Catholic Church, so chosen this hotel via trip.com. It is clear and tidy with pleasant staff. Facilities are not so fancy but all functions needed are still available. Convenient location for sightseeing, nice restaurants and local specialties. Most of customers are tourists from France. You can hear the sounds of bells from the Church every day.
