"When I was planning my trip, I saw that this hotel had really high ratings, so I chose it. I didn't expect the room to be surprisingly good! It even had a small walk-in closet which was super convenient for hanging clothes, and there was plenty of space for my friend and I to spread out our luggage on the floor. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🥰🥰 Plus, the front desk staff were incredibly patient and helpful, I loved them! ^o^"

"This is my second stay here, and it's excellent as always. Service: They upgraded us to a VIP room, which was twice the size. My cousin checked in before me; his Chinese isn't great, but the hotel patiently explained breakfast details and other important information to him, and proactively arranged the room upgrade. Thumbs up to the hotel! After we checked out, I left a charging cable behind, and they even contacted us to ask if we needed it back. The attention to detail in their service is impressive! Environment: The location is superb, right next to Pingjiang Road, which is fantastic."

"Beautiful hotel located overlooking the lake. Room size was generous and room was clean. We booked a room meant for triple sharing. After requesting for extra bed for adult, no additional water and toiletries were provided. Also, the shower soap was not replenished and we had to request for it to be topped up. Same with other toiletries like hand soap, shampoo and conditioner which were only filled one eighth of the bottles. It's not what I would have expected from a 5-star hotel."

"Yingjie Hotel is newly renovated, and while there's still a slight new-furniture smell, it's very comfortable to stay in. It's incredibly quiet at night, ensuring a great sleep. The service is excellent, and the breakfast spread is extensive. The garden environment is beautiful, and they offer free garden tours with explanations. We even received a festive gift during the Mid-Autumn Festival! Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth revisiting."

"The room was really quiet, and the hot spring bath had a very Zen-like design – the rocks and water were perfectly balanced. It was also very clean, and you could tell a lot of thought went into the details. Service was prompt, and breakfast was nutritious. 📍 17th-27th Floors, 6th Floor, Tower A, No. 1398 Suzhan Road, Gusu District, Suzhou
★★★★ 9.5 (2,400 reviews)

"Pros: The location is excellent, right by the North Square of Suzhou Station. The room is very spacious, a true 35 square meters, and the king-size room feels like a suite. It even has a washing machine with a dryer, a mini-fridge, and a bathtub. Great value for money. Cons: The facilities are a bit old. The bathroom is small and shows noticeable rust marks, and the walls have signs of aging. There's no air conditioning vent in the bedroom (or at least no air comes out, even though it looks like there is one). While the room temperature stays at 23 degrees Celsius, the lack of air circulation makes it feel a bit stuffy. Being close to the train station, it's a little noisy. There's no master light switch, so turning off all the lights individually is a bit inconvenient. Overall, it's very good value for money and recommended."

The Ritz-Carlton, Suzhou Hotels in Suzhou

The Ritz-Carlton, Suzhou

"My husband and I decided on a spontaneous weekend getaway to Suzhou, eager to indulge in local delicacies, admire the beautiful scenery, and simply relax. Since our main focus was exploring the attractions in Gusu District, we chose the Ritz-Carlton Suzhou, which opened last year. It’s conveniently located near the train station and many popular sights. The Ritz-Carlton Suzhou boasts an excellent location in Gusu District, just outside Changmen Gate, within the Suzhou Hwamall, and next to Suzhou MixC World and H+ Art Museum. It's also adjacent to the Lingering Garden and the Shantang historical and cultural street, truly a perfect blend of history and modernity. From the outside, the hotel entrance looks understated and simple, but once you step inside, the artistic decor at every turn creates an incredibly rich artistic atmosphere. We booked an Executive King Room this time. It featured a super king-size bed in the center, flanked by an elegant and spacious arrangement of a sofa and coffee table. The bathroom was generously sized, with two wash basins – a convenient and thoughtful design – and a separate bathtub and shower area, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. From the large floor-to-ceiling windows, we could admire not only the exquisite architecture of Suzhou gardens but also the vibrant cityscapes. One of the main reasons we booked an executive room was for the executive lounge, which offers five meals a day. From the elegant breakfast in the morning to the light lunch, the delightful afternoon tea (which is perfect for photos!), and the exquisite evening canapés and 'Night of Fine Wines,' everything was fantastic. Ms. Mary from the executive lounge provided exceptional service. As soon as we walked in, she asked, 'Are you sitting at your usual spot?' She was also very diligent in serving food and drinks and clearing empty plates. The executive lounge also incorporates outdoor garden landscapes into its design, highlighting Suzhou's unique character and allowing guests to enjoy delicious food while appreciating the views. The staff at the Ritz-Carlton were incredibly warm and polite. Whenever we encountered them in the corridors, they would greet us warmly and say, 'Welcome back.' After we returned to the hotel from our evening stroll, our turndown service had already been completed, and they had thoughtfully left a handwritten note and welcome fruits, truly making us feel right at home."

Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou Hotels in Suzhou

"This new hotel, located on an island right by Jinji Lake, offers excellent privacy with its beautiful garden landscape. The 55-square-meter rooms are well-designed, and the facilities are new and spotlessly clean. Enjoying the panoramic views of Jinji Lake from the hotel's rooftop lounge area was truly delightful and expansive. However, the price is a bit on the high side. The TV in the room didn't display the welcome message, which was a minor oversight. As for breakfast, it was quite underwhelming – not much variety and the taste was unremarkable, though the service was pretty good."

Xiangxuehai Hotel (Suzhou panmenjingqu)

"We stay here every year during Qingming. This time, the front desk upgraded us to a higher floor room, which had wooden flooring instead of carpet, making it feel very clean. We could also open the windows for ventilation. One of the memory foam pillows was exceptionally comfortable. The shower had great water pressure, but the showerhead was fixed and couldn't be detached. They provided four bottles of water daily, which was a nice touch. Since breakfast wasn't included, we walked to KFC at RT-Mart for breakfast. There were also authentic local breakfast stalls nearby. The century-old noodle shop across the street was very unique and its food was delicious. The hotel's restaurants were incredibly busy; on the same day, there were four weddings, one 10th birthday party, and one 100-day baby celebration, so all the dining rooms were fully booked. However, the hotel's own restaurant is also excellent, and we always make sure to eat there whenever we visit. The food is delicious and good value for money."

"Didn't take photos when I first checked in, so I took these before checking out. This balcony is absolutely breathtaking! The room isn't huge, but having a separate bathtub and toilet is a real luxury. It was perfect for four people. The service was excellent, they answered all our questions. We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is also quite new, and there are plenty of places to explore nearby."

"The hotel has a wonderful ambiance, and all the staff I encountered were incredibly polite. The restaurant server was especially warm and attentive. My 29-month-old son really wanted a banana that he saw at a neighboring table, but the fruit at the buffet had already been changed. I asked a staff member, and to my surprise, they brought one over very quickly! Overall, the attention to detail in their service was evident everywhere. Next time I'm in Suzhou, I definitely have to stay here again! 😄😄"

Garden Hotel SUZHOU ★★★★★
"I stayed at the Nanfang Hotel's Building 8, 'Yingjie,' in Suzhou over the weekend. It was just renovated late last year with a new 'Neo-Chinese' decor. As you enter, to your left is a long, open wardrobe and a luggage rack, which were very convenient. Then there's a separate wet and dry vanity area and a bathtub, with a sliding glass door separating the room from the washroom. The room itself was quite spacious, with a round table and a sofa by the window. Outside, lush rockeries and greenery provided a refreshing view, and being able to open the window for ventilation was especially pleasant this time of year. The toiletries were L'Occitane, and there was even a Pantene hair essence capsule with the hairdryer. As for the bedding, the mattress was on the firmer side, so comfort will vary for different people. What was hard to understand were some of the renovation details. The grout lines in the tiles were sloppily done, a clear departure from what you'd expect in a five-star hotel. This was even more noticeable under the sink drain. I'd suggest the hotel add a trash can there; it would both hide the flaw and be convenient for women to discard small items when using the sink. The breakfast overall was good. I recommend the 'red soup noodles with braised pork,' which had an authentic flavor. The fresh pork pan-fried buns were also surprisingly delicious – slightly sweet and very juicy. The hotel's location truly lives up to its five-star reputation. Situated on Shiquan Street, it's incredibly convenient for getting around. Wangshi Garden is right across from the hotel entrance on Chengqiao Road, so you can visit early to avoid the crowds. Plus, many popular eateries on Shiquan Street don't have queues before noon. The surrounding streets like Fenghuang Street, Wuqueqiao Street, Cuku Alley, Chaiyuan, and the small alleys behind Shiquan Street are also perfect for a city walk. Shiquan Street is bustling, but as soon as you enter the hotel, it becomes wonderfully quiet. If you're tired from exploring, you can return to the hotel to stroll around Jiang Weiguo's former residence or other ancient buildings and rock gardens, and enjoy the peaceful, serene atmosphere. If you want to explore the urban area of Suzhou in a short time, Nanfang Hotel is a five-star recommendation."
