The only downside was that crossing the road felt a bit nerve wracking due to the heavy traffic in the area. The owner was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to help us find the accommodation, which we really appreciated. The room itself was clean, the amenities were decent, and it was nice to relax and watch a few shows on the included projector system."

"Beautiful hotel located overlooking the lake. Room size was generous and room was clean. We booked a room meant for triple sharing. After requesting for extra bed for adult, no additional water and toiletries were provided. Also, the shower soap was not replenished and we had to request for it to be topped up. Same with other toiletries like hand soap, shampoo and conditioner which were only filled one eighth of the bottles. It's not what I would have expected from a 5-star hotel."

"This hotel is really great, and the views are fantastic too. The aesthetics have a beautiful Song Dynasty feel. We stayed in a courtyard room, which was incredibly comfortable. In the mornings, I could sit in the rocking chair, enjoying the scent of the flowers, and at night, I could watch the moon. The hotel breakfast was excellent (I absolutely loved the smoked fish!). The food at Zhuquxuan was also delicious (it truly deserves its Black Pearl rating!). Suzhou weather can be unpredictable. When it rained, instead of sightseeing, it was much nicer to just sit in the hotel bar, enjoying a drink and watching the rain."

Also the breakfast had surprisingly good choices and again great service staff! The view in the breakfast restaurant was absolutely stunning: a full view of Jinji Lake area and parts of Dushu Lake. Oh, and the location was convenient just in front of the hotel entrance there is a subway station! Definitely. We will stay there again on the next trip to Suzhou! Through the huge panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, you can take in the bustling streetscape of Tayuan Road with its constant flow of traffic, and also comfortably admire the stunning sunset over Lion Mountain. The interplay of light and shadow is truly captivating and refreshing. The room itself is spacious and airy, the bedding is soft and comfortable on the skin, and the soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a high-quality resting environment. Breakfast hours are long, and the dining area is comfortable and elegant. Starting the day with a steaming, authentic Suzhou-style noodle soup instantly awakens your taste buds and sets you up for an energetic day. The service team is warm and efficient; Lisa, in particular, was friendly and made us feel very welcome. The Shangri-La Tayuan Road is a trustworthy and perfect choice for a stay, highly recommended!"

"The location was directly at the tourist attraction very convenient. Hotel amenities are great, love the Dyson hair dryer and the hot water dispenser save time to boil. A very warm feeling staying in tte hotel as they will serve evening drink into our room and on the check out day they packed us a small bag of titbits which elevated the whole staying experience that they care for every guest. The staff were very friendly and polite, have to give special credits to 小海 and the 小姐姐 at the front desk whom served us on day 1. Despite my endless questions, they still patiently attended to me. Last but not least the wonderful shuttle service that they provide and the driver gave us good advice. Thumbs up to him!"

"The B&B environment is truly stunning. The whole courtyard is filled with lush greenery and a beautiful flower wall, making every photo a masterpiece. The room is spacious and bright, the bedding is comfortable, and it's very quiet at night, so I slept incredibly well. The owner is very welcoming and even recommended a lot of local delicacies, which was a very thoughtful touch."

"The staff service was absolutely top-notch! They even cared about my safety when I went out, reminding me to be careful with travel agencies. The room was clean and tidy; I just came from a Ji Hotel in Hangzhou, and there was no drop in quality here. They even provided disposable toilet seat covers in the bathroom, which was incredibly thoughtful. I went to a few places and bought some food, and the prices were acceptable. Facilities: Complete. Even when I came back late at night to do laundry, they were still very accommodating."

You can really tell how much thought went into every design detail, perfectly blending with Suzhou's Song dynasty aesthetics – I absolutely loved it 💕 The hotel is right by Jinji Lake. I tried the crab roe noodles at Sumianfang, took some beautiful garden photos they offered, and even got to try out various pillows during my stay. I particularly enjoyed the hotel bar; its design and lighting gave me such an international vibe. The staff were all incredibly patient, responded to messages quickly, and the service was just fantastic! I was lucky enough to get a room upgrade, and I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Suzhou!"
