Hotel near Inside Tongli Ancient Town,Suzhou
A millennium old town, with a world of shared prosperity. I found a peaceful river view homestay in Tongli Ancient Town. Here, time seems to have come to a standstill. In the morning, I pushed open the window and saw the misty river surface rising in front of my eyes. The local grandfather has already started a day of fishing and started a new day with the sound of paddling. The interior of the homestay features a simple Chinese style, and when you open the door, you can see the weeping willows by the river. Here, you can let go of all the distractions and enjoy British afternoon tea to the fullest, feeling the warmth of the sunshine gently brushing your cheeks. The night in Tongli Ancient Town is the most charming, with lanterns of all sizes strung together along the riverbank, as if wearing a red necklace for the river. The restaurants and bars on both sides of the river began to liven up, sitting by the window, watching the night scenery, listening to the singing, as if forgetting all the troubles. The significance of traveling lies not in the destination, but in the scenery along the way. The river view homestay in Tongli Ancient Town made me feel the beauty of "leisurely life like clouds and wild cranes.". I don't know where my next trip will be, but I will always cherish the beautiful memories of this time in Tongli Ancient Town.

"The environment here is lovely: the courtyard boasts a classic Jiangnan garden style and is wonderfully quiet, a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the ancient town. The room was cozy and inviting, with soft bedding and a spotless bathroom – very comfortable. The service was a highlight of our stay, thanks to our amazing butler! They were punctual for both pick-up and drop-off, helped us plan our itinerary in advance, and recommended fantastic local eateries that only residents would know. Any requests we had during our stay were met with incredibly fast responses; they were truly dependable. The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the ancient town's entrance, making it super convenient for sightseeing and dining. Overall, it offers fantastic value for money. Friends visiting Tongli, don't hesitate to book this place!"

Guests may glide along Pingjiang River by gondola, listening to the soft melodies of Pingtan, and experience firsthand the living waterside elegance of a Jiangnan where "upon arriving in Suzhou, you find homes reclining against the tranquil shores."

"The cleanliness here is truly impeccable, no complaints at all. The staff are all very practical and efficient, without being overly formal. I especially want to commend Qiao Yan at the front desk – she handled all my requests promptly, whether it was storing luggage or fetching small items, everything was smooth and hassle-free. The mirrors were spotless, completely free of watermarks, the bedding was fresh and clean, and there wasn't a speck of dust in the corners. The ventilation was excellent. The mattress was just the right firmness, and the soundproofing was surprisingly good; I had a great night's sleep and all the travel fatigue melted away. The location is perfect too; you can just step out and walk to attractions and snack shops without needing a taxi or taking detours. Breakfast replenishment was very frequent, so you could pretty much get whatever you wanted, and the food tasted like home cooking. Overall, it offers great value for money. Staying here in Suzhou is definitely a safe bet."

Overall an enjoyable and relaxing one night stay at this tiny cosy hotel in Zhouzhuang, for our final leg of our 6 days Suzhou trip. We took a didi over to Zhouzhuang, which was faster and cheaper than I expected, just a little over half an hour. The hotel staff called me the day before to arrange for pick-up near the watertown ticket office. Actually I can't speak Mandarin and their English wasn't too good but we ended up chatting on Wechat as Wechat has a built-in translate function in their chat. So, 15 minutes before we arrive, we just had to let them know on Wechat. And the staff is already waiting for us, helped us with the luggage and guided us through the ticket buying process. You do have to pay for the ¥100 RMB ticket to get into the watertown and the ticket is good for 3 days. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the entrance. I picked this hotel because it was right inside the watertown and it had the ancient Chinese interior, although all the amenities are modern, including a robust and high-tech Kohler smart toilets in each bathroom. There is a nice coffee shop inside the hotel and the coffee shop owner is friendly and takes his coffee craft seriously. The hotel gives you 2 free drinks during your stay and the coffee menu is quite extensive. If the hotel rooms are not booked on that day, we are told the hotel opens their doors to coffee customers. The hotel owner is actually younger than I expected so I am impressed she meticulously created this authentic experience and the attention to detail. She was friendly and helpful and was open to accommodating our needs. We booked the entire 2nd floor, which was 3 bedrooms and we had 6 adults in our group. This tiny hotel only has 3 bedrooms so if you booked all 3 rooms, you pretty much get the entire hotel to yourselves which include the first floor which is spacious and comfy. When I visit Zhouzhuang again, I am looking forward to stay here again. It's certainly not cheap, but you do get what you pay for - which is people passionate about hospitality (in a Chinese way) and also a hygiene and staying experience that is certainly up to international standards.

I specifically chose the Kimpton Suzhou Bamboo Grove, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations – highly recommended! The room was spacious and airy, with a simple yet elegant New Chinese decor that felt incredibly premium. The natural lighting throughout the room was excellent, and the floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opened directly onto a private scenic balcony. Stepping inside instantly melted away my travel fatigue. The balcony was furnished with a lounge table and chairs, offering an unobstructed view of the Jiangnan streets and river. In the morning, I'd enjoy a cup of coffee with the sunrise, and in the evening, I'd sit quietly, feeling the evening breeze and watching the sunset – the ambiance was simply perfect, and it was great for photos. The room's cleanliness was impeccable, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the mattress offered just the right amount of support. Toiletries and the minibar were fully stocked, the air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a wonderfully quiet rest. The hotel service was thoughtful and attentive; check-in was efficient, Cherry was quick to respond to any requests, and the breakfast was exquisite, bountiful, and delicious. The private balcony is the biggest highlight of this room type, providing both ventilation and a private little oasis for relaxation, making it ideal for couples on vacation or individuals looking to unwind. For the price, the value for money is outstanding. Next time, I'll definitely book the 'Cool Enjoy Balcony Room' again. I recommend it to anyone who loves scenic views and seeks a relaxed vibe!

Staying at Taowu Lanyuan Hotel near Suzhou's Peach Blossom Dock and Humble Administrator's Garden was an absolute hit, exceeding all my expectations for the guest room experience! The location is truly unbeatable. Nestled within the Tang Bohu Former Residence Cultural Area, it's within walking distance of the Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou Museum, and Beisi Pagoda subway station. Right outside the door is the ancient 'Lotus Market' alley. After exploring the gardens, you can leisurely stroll back to the hotel without the hassle of a taxi. The entire building is a traditional Suzhou-style courtyard with white walls and dark tiles, offering a tranquil retreat amidst the bustle. The courtyard's greenery and water features are exquisite, and stepping into the guest room instantly shuts out the street noise. I stayed in the 'Morning Glow' twin room. Large floor-to-ceiling windows offered a direct view of the courtyard greenery; opening the window revealed a classic Jiangnan scene. The room's new Chinese-style decor is warm and elegant, with ink-wash floral murals, solid wood furniture, and Suzhou-style soft furnishings, exuding ancient charm without feeling oppressive. The whole room is smart-controlled; I could adjust the lighting, curtains, and air conditioning with just my voice – modern amenities are top-notch. The cleanliness was impeccable, with no stains on the floors or bathroom corners. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, with a choice of soft or firm pillows. The soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a quiet, undisturbed sleep until morning. The bathroom was dry-wet separated, hot water was consistent, and the toiletries were high-quality. The accompanying services were very thoughtful. The front desk staff were warm and enthusiastic, proactively helping with sightseeing routes. The free luggage storage and dedicated free parking for self-drivers saved a lot of trouble. Breakfast offered authentic Suzhou flavors, with a complete selection of Suzhou-style noodles, pastries, and congee, all tasting genuinely local. Public areas include a fitness zone and a relaxation tea room, making it very pleasant to sit and enjoy tea in the courtyard after a tiring day of sightseeing. Overall, the hotel perfectly balances Jiangnan garden aesthetics with a comfortable living experience. It's ideal for short trips or couples, and I would definitely choose it again on my next visit to Suzhou. Highly recommended!

If I had to describe this hotel in four words, it would be: “Always Ready to Help.” After checking in, guests are assigned a dedicated WeChat contact, making it easy to communicate any requests or questions directly with the hotel. The customer service manager responds very quickly and genuinely cares about guests’ comfort and overall experience. Any issues, big or small, are handled efficiently, giving you a true sense that guest satisfaction is their top priority. The hotel offers complimentary laundry and drying facilities, a gym, and a modern, stylish design throughout the property. Upon arrival, the staff helped us with our luggage, and after check-in, our bags were delivered directly to our room free of charge. Such thoughtful service made us feel very welcomed. Breakfast mainly consists of Chinese-style dishes, with Suzhou-style noodles being a special highlight. My favorite part of the stay was the complimentary Hanfu experience! There were many beautiful outfits to choose from, and each set could be worn for up to two hours. Guests are even allowed to wear them outside for sightseeing and photos. My mother and I changed into two different Hanfu outfits during our stay, and it was a wonderful experience. A special thank you to the customer service manager for taking such great care of us, for the fruit platter, and for upgrading us to a room with a bathtub. The room was incredibly spacious and very comfortable. Even the television could be adjusted and rotated for better viewing from different angles. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here. The hotel provides disposable hygiene covers for both the toilet seat and bathtub, giving guests extra peace of mind. The entire property has a charming artistic atmosphere, and there is even a cozy reading corner near the laundry room where guests can relax with a book. The location is another major advantage. There are plenty of restaurants and food options right downstairs, making the area lively and convenient. Most attractions are only about 10 minutes away by car, with Didi rides typically costing just RMB 8–10. The high-speed rail station is also within a 15-minute drive. If you have not planned your itinerary yet, the hotel can recommend local tours and travel packages as well. They also provide parcel collection services, carefully storing your deliveries until you arrive to collect them. ANDU Hotel truly puts guest experience first. Highly recommended! 👍

The environment is great, and the facilities are comprehensive. It seems to be an apartment hotel with a history and a good reputation. It's a one-bedroom, one-living room unit with a bathtub. You have to stand in the tub to shower, which I'm not used to – it's a bit narrow and inconvenient. I'm more accustomed to a dedicated shower box. The bedroom and living room are separated by sliding doors. There's no space for nightstands on either side of the large bed, which I also found inconvenient (although you can put things on the headboard). My feet kept hitting the sliding door when getting out of bed, which was annoying. What I did like was the high floor, the view, and the microwave and tableware provided.
