A decent five-star hotel. The room was spacious and even had a balcony, perfect for enjoying the refreshing sea breeze. It's located right in the city center, making it convenient to get anywhere – Cairns itself is quite small, so you can easily walk to most places. A taxi from the airport to the hotel was around 25 AUD.

My stay at the Emporium Hotel was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made me feel instantly welcome. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect — their professionalism and attentiveness truly set this hotel apart. The rooms were beautifully designed, combining modern luxury with absolute comfort. Everything was spotless, and the little touches — from high-quality amenities to thoughtful turndown service — showed the hotel’s commitment to excellence. Dining at the hotel was another highlight. Every meal was beautifully presented and delicious, with service that was both prompt and personable. The concierge team was incredibly helpful, offering great local recommendations and arranging everything seamlessly. What really impressed me most was the superb service. Every interaction felt genuine — the staff clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows in every detail of the guest experience. If you’re looking for a luxurious stay with world-class service and a truly welcoming atmosphere, I can’t recommend the Emporium Hotel highly enough. It’s an experience that exceeds expectations in every way.”

The room itself was generally acceptable, and the balcony view was fantastic. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We found a thumb-sized blood stain on the bedsheet that hadn't been cleaned. We reported it to the front desk, and they assured us it would be handled and that a manager would contact us directly. But nothing ever came of it. We had to call housekeeping again to have someone come and change the sheets. There was never an explanation or an apology, which made it feel like this kind of thing is commonplace and not worth making a fuss over. But from a guest's perspective, this is not a minor issue; it was extremely unpleasant both psychologically and experientially. Housekeeping also consistently missed things; we had to call for everything from towels to toilet paper! This 'five-star' service was incredibly disappointing. To be fair, we are loyal Pullman customers globally, but it seems only the Pullman Cairns has these shortcomings.

The environment here is absolutely impeccable, I must say. The lobby, rooms, pool, and rooftop restaurant are all beautifully decorated. As for the facilities, they're also excellent. Being a new hotel, everything is very modern. However, the bathroom has one major drawback: there's nowhere to put your phone if you're in the toilet area. Cleanliness is very good. Rooms are only cleaned if you notify the front desk daily, and that 'clean room' light doesn't seem to do much. Service, though, was just mediocre. The staff at the rooftop restaurant, in particular, had a terrible attitude, acting completely uninterested. The front desk staff were quite good at check-in, but poor communication during shift changes led to a significant amount of money being unjustly charged to my credit card. I only discovered this because I noticed the unreasonable charges in time. It took involving Trip.com and my bank to resolve it, especially since the charges happened 3 days after I had already left the hotel, with no email notification whatsoever. If I hadn't been vigilant, I wouldn't have known about these losses, as they only appear on the statement – this is truly awful. There's even one charge I'm still unclear about, but it's too late to investigate further. So, when staying at this hotel, you absolutely need to keep a close eye on your bill! This whole ordeal even affected my subsequent vacation, as I spent every day trying to sort this out!

This hotel is centrally located on the esplanade, and this is its main plus. In everything else, in my view, it loses out to the Hilton , to which I moved after a few days. My room smelled to the extent it made me feel unwell. The two swimming pools they boast are a joke. In the first glass pool, you are fully exhibited to everyone on the esplanade, which is why no one swims. In the second one you can't swim if there's anyone else in the pool, it's that narrow. The spa is a private massage joint. I was given a parking spot with no remote the first day, and allowed to park as an exception - their parking is too small to accomidate a hotel of this size. It has no ev charging. The breakfast is nowhere as good as the Hiltons. In any case I fixed all these problems by moving.

Great hotel in an amazing location in Cairns. Close to everything. Hotel is brand new. Only two issues: - The room had a weird smell over the course of my trip (probably due to the air conditioner) - The pool is too small compared to the size of the hotel Other than that, a great stay and can’t recommend enough

The service is simply not too disgusting! I went to check in, and I had to charge a deposit of $100. I didn’t pay much attention. When I swiped the card, I found that they had swiped nearly $500. I asked if my room had been prepaid. Will retreat tomorrow! It doesn't matter so much, I just said very harshly, isn't this your problem? She said, yes yes, I'll give you a drink coupon! It's really funny. I don't want to say, she probably fooled it. Then there is no drinking water in the room. When I checked in, I didn't tell us to take the pot to the elevator. We thought that there was no water, so we took the drink voucher and went to the bar below to get a drink, but when we heard that you wanted to use the drink voucher, we said we were closed. We said that there was no water in the room, so we told us to fetch water by ourselves! What’s even more irritating is the breakfast, we ordered breakfast included, because it is a single breakfast, so a person can only order one drink and one breakfast! I added a few hundred yuan more, just two stuttering! If you want something else, you have to add money! An internet celebrity hotel is an internet celebrity hotel, and it's useless except to take photos of them! Really believe in evil and live here! The breakfast buffet at W is delicious!

I found staying at this hotel at this particular time to be excellent value for money. The location is superb, right behind a casino. It appears to be associated with the Star Hotel group. This hotel is genuinely a historical landmark; I heard it was originally a treasury vault before being converted into a hotel. Both the room's design aesthetic and even the elevators are very unique. A huge plus for me was that when I arrived at 10 AM to drop off my luggage, the front desk staff said our room was ready, allowing us to check in early – what a fantastic surprise! Our room was spacious with high ceilings, and despite its visible history, it was impeccably clean. You could truly call it a work of art, reportedly 200 years old.

GGuest UserThis hotel in Cairns seems relatively new, but it's not great value for money. I booked a sea view room, which was completely unnecessary as it overlooks a murky lagoon that exposes mudflats at low tide. The room was quite spacious, but it had a damp, musty smell. They only provide two bottles of water per day, and they're in glass bottles, which made me seriously suspect the staff just refilled them with tap water. If you run out, you have to go to the first floor to get drinking water, which also tasted like tap water. On the first day, the tissue box ran out after only two tissues, but thankfully it was refilled the next day. Breakfast is mainly Western style, and the location is convenient, as you can walk to restaurants, the wharf, and other places!

MMubamumaThe views are unbeatable! I watched the sunrise over the ocean right from my bed 🌅. The location is absolutely amazing! You just cross the street and you're on the beach – literally a few steps away, nothing like those places back home where you have to walk 5 minutes and cross a road. The hotel pool is fantastic and the surroundings are lovely. Eating out in Australia is so expensive, so the apartment hotel concept here is brilliant. We bought some noodles and veggies at a nearby supermarket and cooked a delicious dinner, which was so much more cost-effective. Plus, there's a washer and dryer, perfect for catching up on all the laundry I didn't get to in Sydney. Having clean, fresh-smelling clothes again was such a relief! I could easily stay here for several more days; it's super convenient for the beach, shopping, and theme parks like Sea World.

GGuest UserThe concierge was extremely poor, drove in with my 7 seaters rented car, and staff simply ignored my existence - didn't even bother to come out to greet us nor offer any help with the luggage, even after telling him that I'll need help - zero awareness and zero service. The luggage trolley is simply an ornament. Excuse me, it's Marriott! Never in my life have i had to experience such an unwelcoming experience. However, the receptionist (wearing spec) was the only person who gave my family a warm welcome, likewise the staff at the buffet. 👍

XXuanxuanbutinghuaThe hotel's front desk service was quite good; they even gave a small gift once they knew I was a Marriott Platinum member. The room was a bit damp, but clean enough. It's great for kids; we spent three days enjoying the hotel's beach and pool and didn't even want to go out. While the amenities can't compare to a water park, they were still very good. We'll definitely go back. The hotel breakfast was decent, just a bit crowded, so you had to queue.

GGuest UserI stayed in room 4603 on the 46th floor this time. It was a 2-bedroom, 1-study, 1-living room with an open kitchen, and all rooms offered incredible, unobstructed sea views. The three balconies outside were interconnected, and there were two comfortable sofas on the balcony where you could lie down and enjoy the ocean. You could also see the sea from both the bed and the indoor sofa. However, I had to switch rooms twice before I was satisfied. The first room they gave me, 4501, only had a sea view from the living room balcony, and there was a super thick pillar blocking the middle! (See picture 6). Then they moved me to room 4702 (picture 7), which had an enclosed sea view, and the visibility wasn't very satisfying. There was only a balcony space about one person wide that wasn't sealed off, where you could stand to take photos without glass in the way. I wasn't happy with 4702 either; it felt different from what I booked. And then!!! From 4702, I saw the balcony of 4703 next door (picture 8), which had a fantastic view and was also completely open with an interconnected balcony! So, I went to the front desk a second time to request a room like 4703. Finally, they gave me 4603, and we stayed for three nights. It was pretty much like the pictures I saw when I booked! So, I highly recommend everyone choose the 03 room type! I told the front desk that I had specifically booked a 'sea and sky' infinity sea view room, and if the sea view wasn't good, I'd rather not stay. The front desk kept saying she understood, she understood very well, and only after two room changes was I satisfied. I feel like the front desk has a strategy: they first give you a less desirable room, and only change it if you ask. If you think it's 'okay,' you might fall for it. If you only changed once, to a room like the 02 type, you might think, 'Well, this is better than the last one.' But what you might not realize is that the 03 type is the truly unobstructed sea view room you booked and deserve. So, if you're not satisfied with your room, make sure to take your booking photos and immediately ask the front desk to change rooms!
