Stayed for two nights and gave us an upgrade to check in three hours later from the original time. Service was excellent, staff were amazing but there was a lack of amenities in room.

Decent hotel located at the heart of city. The lobby of the hotel was spacious, food in the bar was yummy. Room was spacious and tidy. Will consider to stay again in future.

Robin, on the reception desk, was very professional and friendly and gave me a very warm welcome and a great first impression. The hotel, being directly attached to the Winter Garden, has a great central location and is less than ten minutes by foot to the train station (which is all wheelchair and suitcase accessible). All the breakfast staff were also attentive and helpful even early in the morning.

I have used Doubletree Hilton in USA and this is much the same, including the cookie. Hotel was pleasant enough for what it was. Comfortable bed and warm room. The shower wasn’t very hot but acceptable. Breakfast was good but I thought £15 per night for car park a bit steep. Being next to the Sheffield United football ground I could understand the need to ration parking but this wasn’t a match day and there is not much close to attract drivers who might use the parking available.

There are shampoo products, bath towels, towels and floor towels, drinking cups and kettles, which are rare. I didn't know about the above, so I brought them all by myself. There are no slippers, hair dryers and conversion plugs, so you have to bring them yourself. Then there is breakfast, which is really rich. Because I stayed for 20 days, I had enough. Then I discussed with the waiter to replace it with fried eggs. The waiter didn't agree on the first day, but when he saw that I really couldn't eat it, he took the initiative to replace it for me. It's still pretty good. The room is relatively small and the facilities are a bit old, but if you just want to sleep, it's enough. Don't worry too much about the environment and facilities. After all, the price is there, just look at the cost performance.

The hotel is in a perfect location. The rooms are fairly basic but better than many other hotels in the UK (although that isn't saying much). The building itself is rather nice. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the hotel itself feels safe and pleasant. However, the rooms are small, in particular, the showers are small... I have friends who would genuinely be unable to squeeze through the small door to enter the shower cubicle.

Although the location is a bit remote, driving and parking are very convenient, the key price is very high, the facilities in the room are ok, and the bed is more comfortable!

Very comfortable stay, spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed. Bath robes are a nice touch. Tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits which you can top up from stations on each corridor. Breakfast was very good.

Hotel location is good, walking from the station can be reached, but be careful of the tramp on the road Sheffield is the only place where we have been harassed by the tramp. It is in the middle of the hotel and the train station road. It was also at night. We fought with the tramp. The tramp took bread. Throw us, but the English are really good. The black guy who passed by saw the tramp fight with us, and he immediately went over and scolded the tramp so we could get out.

Great staff at this hotel, even gave me a steering wheel lock for my Range Rover as they said it’s high priority on the hit list, rooms are very clean and comfortable, evening meal was delicious, perfect location

The hotel is not in the city center, the environment is super beautiful, surrounded by golf courses and parks. There are also cute and lively little squirrels in the park, the bed is big and comfortable, and there are snacks for delivery.

The deluxe double room is nice and the scenery outside is also good.

I have stayed at The Red Lion some years back. This time I was very pleased to see that the interior decoration had been updated. The room I had was very pleasantly decorated with William Morris wallpaper. The breakfast and restaurant and restaurant area had had a facelift too. Definitely an improvement from what it looked like previously. The staff members at reception were very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Thank you.

First time I have stayed there hotel is beautiful and peaceful surroundings. It was a break for me and my wife as my mum passed 10 days ago and we wanted a break. Nice big room shame no bath, only problem we were near the staff exit and heard noise till late and very early in the morning. I complained to receptionist and we have a discounted rate next time we stay. Staff all very helpful and friendly.

WE HAD A FRIDGE The toilet sit had some soap smudge on it and initially thought is something else but if foamed when tried to clean it (I always have sanitizer with me as is only human to miss a spot and do a mistake. Didn't kill me cleaning that myself. Housekeeping job ain't easy. Bless you all. Just keep a better eye to avoid Karen type❤️) The receptionists were all friendly and happy to assist me with both check in and check out. We absolutely loved our room and the view was magnificent. The dawn was heavenly seen from our window❤️ What I loved the most was the fact that in the room we had a FRIDGE. Many hotels don't have that anymore and imagine having a room without a fridge with this heatwave going on 🥵 I will attach a photo with our beautiful view🤩 This hotel will be my top choice whenever I'll need a room around the area. Clean room, clean hallway, clean reception area. Please keep an eye for the accessible rooms. Read all description and detail before booking as they have special rooms for people with a health condition and the room will have some things at a low level to the ground. Will be your fault for not choosing the right room not the hotel's as you need to read description always. Don't take it out to the staff for your own mistake😊 Seen a lot complaining about that, as I've seen also about the rooms accessible and didn't understand the term initially, until I went through the details. After reading the details I knew exactly what room I need to book and what would not be convenient for me🙌 Bless you all and hope this review will be of help to some of you at least 😊

The hotel is near the Thorne North station and the M62 motorway. A pub with car park is part of the establishment and provide breakfast, warm meals and drink. Next to the hotel is a retail park with Aldi, KFC and other stores. Thorne itself is 15 min walk. The rooms are simple but effective and there is no staff on side. Kettle, coffee and tea supplied. Bathroom with bath and shower. Iron in corridor. I stayed few times as it is convenient for my needs and reasonable priced. 15% discount on meals for guests.

Perfect for what we needed. Definitely will be staying again in the future
