For a hotel in the UK, the price was very affordable. The room size was decent, and the bed was generally comfortable. Its location is quite good, with a bus stop nearby making it easy to get to Darcy Manor (just check Google Maps). The room came with a bathtub, although the water pressure was a bit weak. Both the air conditioning and extractor fan operated on timers, which I presume is an energy-saving measure. It felt like the room was half of a two-bedroom suite, given the locked connecting door in the middle, which unfortunately led to poor soundproofing. Luckily, the guests next door only chatted briefly after returning late at night before going to sleep, so the noise wasn't too disruptive.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Sheffield! The location is unbeatable, right next to the beautiful Peace Gardens, making it perfect for a relaxing and convenient visit. The room was immaculate—new, modern, and thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What truly made it special was the staff's attention to detail—they surprised us with a lovely gesture to celebrate our honeymoon, which made our trip even more memorable. Highly recommend this gem of a hotel! 🌟
The hotel reception was very friendly. We arrived late, around 9:30 PM, because we were shopping at Bicester Village. The hotel is next to a Holiday Inn and has a decent-sized parking lot; it costs 6 pounds for an overnight stay, deducted from the deposit. Our room rate included dinner, but since the restaurant closed at 9 PM, the hotel arranged for us to eat at the bar next door. We ordered steak and fish and chips, which were surprisingly good, especially the steak. The room and bed were both very spacious, and the breakfast was excellent, featuring smoked salmon. Everyone in our group agreed it was great. There's also a traditional British reception room near the entrance, perfect for taking photos!

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. We were very impressed with the service provided by the friendly & professional staff.
The hotel building is beautiful, stylish and well maintained.
Breakfast was lovely but be warned the breakfast room is quite snug when there is a busy period.
We would definitely recommend a stay here.
WE HAD A FRIDGE
The toilet sit had some soap smudge on it and initially thought is something else but if foamed when tried to clean it (I always have sanitizer with me as is only human to miss a spot and do a mistake. Didn't kill me cleaning that myself. Housekeeping job ain't easy. Bless you all. Just keep a better eye to avoid Karen type❤️) The receptionists were all friendly and happy to assist me with both check in and check out. We absolutely loved our room and the view was magnificent. The dawn was heavenly seen from our window❤️ What I loved the most was the fact that in the room we had a FRIDGE. Many hotels don't have that anymore and imagine having a room without a fridge with this heatwave going on 🥵 I will attach a photo with our beautiful view🤩 This hotel will be my top choice whenever I'll need a room around the area. Clean room, clean hallway, clean reception area. Please keep an eye for the accessible rooms. Read all description and detail before booking as they have special rooms for people with a health condition and the room will have some things at a low level to the ground. Will be your fault for not choosing the right room not the hotel's as you need to read description always. Don't take it out to the staff for your own mistake😊 Seen a lot complaining about that, as I've seen also about the rooms accessible and didn't understand the term initially, until I went through the details. After reading the details I knew exactly what room I need to book and what would not be convenient for me🙌 Bless you all and hope this review will be of help to some of you at least 😊

Robin, on the reception desk, was very professional and friendly and gave me a very warm welcome and a great first impression.
The hotel, being directly attached to the Winter Garden, has a great central location and is less than ten minutes by foot to the train station (which is all wheelchair and suitcase accessible).
All the breakfast staff were also attentive and helpful even early in the morning.
Good location and ease of access to M1 no problem. Venue check in was easy and quick no messing about. Room was clean and tidy though the complimentary biscuit for the tea and coffee was missing, no big deal they are nice though ! Bathroom was clean no issues. There was a wedding on the day of travel so a lot of people hanging around especially the
entrance to hotel. Bar seating area lounge was small and the drinks draught beers were expensive over £5 pint !
Generally a good stay staff helpful and courtease. Would stay again.

XXinyeIt was an impressive and pleasant stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a family room, which was perfect for our trip, very spacious and with great view. The bed mattress is one of the best in all my experience. I had great sleep during the stay. The cleanliness of the room was ok. The location is very convenient if you are driving - 20 mins drive to the walking trails and 10 mons drive to centre of Sheffiled. David from the restaurant provided highly professional and helpful service for our breakfast. All in all, we would consider staying at this hotel again if we visit this area again.

MMengskyI wouldn't consider this a good stay, as I encountered several issues. First, the check-in process was a hassle since this hotel doesn't have a front desk. I spent hours calling the hotel, facing either ”Line busy” or no response after a long wait. If it wasn’t for Trip.com's customer service finally connecting with the hotel, I wouldn’t have known what to do. Second, the wooden door in my room was difficult to close; it required a hard push and made a loud ”bang.” The glass sliding door of the shower room was also problematic, it fell out on my first pull, and I'm certainly not strong enough to break a door with just one pull. Lastly, and most frustratingly, was the toilet paper situation. It was my first time encountering a toilet without a single roll of paper. I can't imagine what I would be if I hadn't brought my own in my bag that day. On a positive note, the room was well-equipped with a fridge, oven, heater, toaster, and even an iron, which suggests the hotel might have been quite good when the things are all good a few years ago, but not now.

WWeiThis is our second time to stay at this hotel in three weeks and again, we loved everything about it.
Thanks to the receptionists who are always professional and friendly.
Look forward to coming back in a few weeks to enjoy our walks around Kinder Scott and lovely evenings in Sheffield city centre.

TTraveller7150Terrible facilities as this hotel was decorated long long time ago. I've booked the hotel for 2 nights and on the first night the wall mounted hair dryer exploded with a huge sound and burnt odour, and the hotel was fully booked so no room for us to move we have to sleep with the burnt odour. On the second day the hot water supply is broken as there was no hot water supply in my room, only room temperature (slightly warm)water, the night shift staff tried to fix it but failed. This is one of the terrible experience I've ever had. The room is also very old, please imagine 1970's rooms
Staffs are good especially the night shift staff who actively helped us. Location is good.
GGuest UserWe stayed in March 2024 had a good experience then, but this visit last weekend 11th May 24 was very disappointing we found the room dirty with insects crawling around under the bed, we asked to change room which we did but found the same problem which i pointed out to the night receptionist, he came up with a 3rd room clean luckily at midnight, now very tired we slept well and spoke to reception at check out who offered us a complimentary Breakfast which was nice but doesn't make you want to return again if the rooms are presented to you so dirty please see photos i did write to the hotel manager on 13th May but as yet have received NO reply
AAirborn63The hotel is near the Thorne North station and the M62 motorway. A pub with car park is part of the establishment and provide breakfast, warm meals and drink. Next to the hotel is a retail park with Aldi, KFC and other stores. Thorne itself is 15 min walk.
The rooms are simple but effective and there is no staff on side. Kettle, coffee and tea supplied. Bathroom with bath and shower. Iron in corridor.
I stayed few times as it is convenient for my needs and reasonable priced. 15% discount on meals for guests.
