"Bringing my kids to Lu Xun's former residence, we chose to stay on Cangqiao Old Street, with its charming bridges and flowing water. The hotel butler added me on WeChat beforehand and told me to set my taxi's destination to Wangjianglou, offering an electric buggy pickup which made getting around very convenient. The room was clean, tidy, and well-laid out, even equipped with a XiaoDu smart assistant. We had a great view of the old town from our window, and the hotel lobby offered an even better vista. The resident cat, 'Fugui,' was also adorable. The hotel is very close to Lu Xun's former residence, Shen Garden, and Fushan."

"This place has an excellent location. There are tons of eateries right outside on the street, and it's not far from Lu Xun's former residence – just a short walk away. Is it plum rain season now? Everything feels so damp, even the duvet in the room was a bit humid. However, this room type is really quiet, living up to its name, and the landlady is incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic."

"The environment here is lovely, very green and lush. However, this hotel is just too dark at night. Staying in building 8, when we went out for a late-night snack and came back, there were hardly any lights outside, making it very dim. We checked in early that day and the room hadn't been cleaned yet, but the cleaning lady did an exceptionally thorough and clean job, which was really great! It's a shame the air conditioning was just too cold. My friend and I both got sick the next day. We called the front desk to adjust the temperature, but they said it's a central air conditioning system and you can only adjust the fan speed, not the actual temperature. Even setting it to 30 degrees for heating didn't help; it was practically useless."

The hotel's location in Shaoxing Tiandi is excellent, and the decor is modern with a well-designed green landscape. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary extra services like the black-awning boat ride and afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was not only visually appealing but also delicious and not too sweet, served in a lovely setting. In the evening, the bar even featured a Yuejun Nanci (Shaoxing Pinghu Tune) performance. Our room was quite spacious, simple, and cozy, and the coral fleece bathrobes were very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and proactively offered assistance. The breakfast spread offered a wide variety of fruits and other food options! Overall, the hotel was very comfortable and provided exceptional value for money."

Secondly, the service was excellent; upon hearing there were three of us, they proactively offered an extra breakfast. When we checked out, they even gave us a souvenir. "This is a really great hotel! It's been open for three years, but the rooms are still very well-maintained and clean, offering excellent value for money. The room itself is also quite spacious, though I felt the water pressure in the shower was a little low. The lounge hours are fantastic; you can get coffee starting in the morning, which is perfect for a coffee-lover like me who dislikes crowded breakfast restaurants. The lounge wasn't busy either. It would be even better if the food options during the regular happy hour could change daily. I stayed for three days and it felt like the food was pretty much the same each time, haha."

"We brought our child, and they had a fantastic time, even just staying at the hotel. The swimming pool, especially, was clean and spacious; our child wanted to spend the whole day in it. The room was also very comfortable, and the private hot spring bath was incredibly relaxing. The breakfast was plentiful, and the complimentary souvenir and fruits were a nice touch! The only downside was that we didn't have enough time to fully enjoy everything. Next time we visit Shaoxing, we'll definitely stay for a few more days!"

"The hotel boasts a superb location, right next to the He Jian Ancestral Hall and Zhou Enlai's Former Residence. It's quiet and comfortable, and within walking distance of Lu Xun's Former Residence and Cangqiao Straight Street. The environment is beautiful, the service is attentive, and the sweet and glutinous white fungus soup served at the late-night snack is delightful. The breakfast is also delicious – highly recommended!"
Grand New Century Hotel Meishan Spring Shaoxing
"I booked a hotel in Shaoxing a day in advance and noted some hygiene concerns. The hotel was very proactive, calling to ask if there was anything else I needed to prepare besides cleanliness. The next day, when we arrived at the hotel, we found it completely unvacuumed, with hair everywhere! We contacted the front desk manager, but because we were in a hurry, he said he would handle it and have someone clean it, so we went about our business. This was around 3 or 4 pm. When we returned to the hotel at 10:30 pm, we found hair still on the carpet. The hotel showed a complete lack of respect for its customers. Around 11 pm, they came with a vacuum cleaner saying they would clean it again, severely disrupting our sleep. At midnight, they upgraded our room, but by then the experience was completely ruined; we just wanted to rest. We moved our luggage and put the milk we had in the refrigerator in the upgraded room's refrigerator. The next day at noon, we found the refrigerator hadn't been opened, and the milk had gone bad. We were in a rush to leave, so we complained. The duty manager came and told us we would receive a discount after check-out and compensated with drinks. After checking out, the hotel informed me through Ctrip that there would be no compensation."

"Five-star review! I wholeheartedly recommend the Shaoxing Wenduyuan Hotel. I stayed at this hotel during my trip to Shaoxing, and the experience was absolutely fantastic! As soon as I entered the lobby, I could smell roasted sweet potatoes. Eating a warm one instantly melted away most of my travel fatigue. The room size was incredibly generous, not cramped at all. What really impressed me was that the room actually had a massage chair and a massage gun! After a day of exploring the ancient city, a massage was pure bliss. These little details really added to the experience. The 28-yuan breakfast also exceeded expectations. It had a good variety and was very satisfying – incredible value for money. The hygiene was also top-notch, making my stay very comfortable. They even upgraded us to a better room for free, with a view of Mirror Lake, which was a delightful surprise upon check-in. They also provided disposable toilet seat covers and disposable bath towels. The most unique feature was a row of hooks in front of the air conditioning vent, perfect for hanging clothes. With the air conditioner heating, it also helped dry clothes – truly a two-in-one solution. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Shaoxing. I've already recommended it to my friends, and I sincerely recommend it to everyone!"

"Facilities: This hotel is pretty much top-tier in Shaoxing. All things considered, it's only about 200 meters to Lu Xun's former residence, directly accessible via a back alley. It's also super convenient for visiting all the surrounding attractions like the residences of the Premier, Qiu Jin, and the Sage of Calligraphy. Guests get free parking, so you can just dump any souvenirs or Huangjiu (yellow wine) directly in your car. This alone outshines most other local hotels, not to mention its century-old brand, and their self-produced and sold Huangjiu, fava beans, and pastries. Plus, the new building at the front offers a great living experience; despite the hotel's age, the new building has a high-end, new-Chinese style, reminiscent of a five-star hotel. Service: Incredibly thoughtful. Cici, as our butler, proactively added us on WeChat, and her service was impeccable throughout. You can just relax and enjoy your trip; any needs can be directly communicated to the butler. When cleaning the room, they even brought children's slippers and toothbrushes directly to us. Overall, it's especially suitable for children around ten years old coming for an 'educational trip.' After all, Baicaoyuan to Sanwei Study is something kids will learn about sooner or later, so staying at this hotel is perfect for reinforcing those memories."
Wassim Hotel (Shaoxing Lu Xun's Hometown)
"The breakfast was terrible; the coffee was instant. The selection was limited, and it cost less than the Home Inn I stayed at the next day in Xinchang (which at least had fruit). The room facilities were extremely basic; you could tell they'd cut corners to reduce cleaning duties. Even the TV required scanning a QR code to pay for every program. I originally booked two nights, but checked out after one and left the next day. My positive review mainly came from the front desk's insistence on my check-out. This hotel is truly worse than even a Home Inn. For nearly 700 yuan, it's simply indescribable. I recommend choosing a chain hotel, not this one."

"I was drawn in by the hotel's exterior, thinking it was a whole building, but it's actually just a small hotel. The rooms are converted apartments, and the soundproofing is terrible. I could hear everything upstairs—showering, walking, even sex. I didn't get a good night's sleep at all while traveling. Also, I have to complain about the hairdryer. I think it's the kind that costs only a few dollars. The airflow is terrible. It took a guy ten minutes to dry his hair, let alone a woman."

"Because of a flight delay, we didn't arrive at the hotel until 2 AM. I thought check-in would be a hassle, but the front desk staff were waiting for us and thoughtfully provided hot water, which warmed us up from the chill. The room had ample storage space, and the bathroom had a well-designed wet and dry separation. The next morning, when we were rushing to catch our flight, the hotel even prepared breakfast in advance. This kind of thoughtful service was truly touching, and I will definitely choose this hotel for future layovers."
