Romantic Hotels in Shaoxing

"Pros: This is an economy hotel. The location is its biggest highlight; it's incredibly convenient for visiting various attractions nearby, very close to Shaoxing Station and the subway. The hotel staff are very friendly. The breakfast is abundant; though it's all basic fare, there's both Chinese and Western options, and a full selection of drinks and yogurt. The rooftop outdoor dining area is very comfortable. Cons: The upgraded rooms (those ending in 10 or 11) have huge pillars inside. Guests planning to stay here should either decline the upgrade or book a higher-grade room. The 'Quiet Elegant King Room (no window)' is extremely small, so small that if the bathroom door is open, you can't walk past it. The bathroom itself is also tiny, with no separate wet and dry areas, and the shower controls are a bit peculiar, making showering inconvenient. Double Self-Service Afternoon Tea: The afternoon tea is self-serve in the lobby. There's a dried vegetable pastry (gan cai su bing) that was delicious; I even bought more from a scenic spot later to take home."

"Room 808, the hotel is not far from Lu Xun's hometown and Shenyuan, and can be reached on foot; opposite is Shaoxing Museum. The guest room faces north, facing the street. Enter the small hall, turn right to the bedroom, which only has a 2-meter bed and two bedside cabinets. The head of the bed is against the wall, and the other three sides are left for one person to pass through. The bathroom and shower room are between the hall and the bedroom. There is a basin and a sink against the wall. There is an electromagnetic stove next to the sink, and there is a range hood on the electromagnetic stove. The whole room is compact, with a reasonable layout and many cabinets. The disadvantage is that there is no desk, which is inconvenient to write and use a mobile phone. The breakfast is also good. The front desk and the auntie are good, especially Auntie Tan Silan. I asked the front desk for an air-conditioning quilt (thin quilt), and Auntie Tan delivered it immediately, and told me to find her if I need it."

"Main purpose was to eat delicious Shaoxing cuisine and drink yellow wine. All within easy walking distance! And the town is so charming and peaceful as a quick respite from Shanghai craziness. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Even with a language barrier, it was easy to communicate using translation tools and sign language. The older woman working the desk at night, the breakfast cook and the younger woman at desk during the day were all extremely kind. Quite enjoyable - highly recommended!"

I traveled from Shanghai to Shaoxing and arrived before 11 AM, but they still arranged for me to check in. The front desk staff enthusiastically recommended local delicacies and attractions. Any issues I encountered during my stay were promptly resolved. On my last day, they kindly reminded me about the check-out time, and even offered us bottled water as we were leaving. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive, but the service is even more attentive and thoughtful. The hotel is also within walking distance to various attractions, and the breakfast was delicious. It was a very pleasant stay overall."
