My stay at the HUALUXE Xiamen experience was truly exceptional, characterized by thoughtful and professional service, along with great convenience. A special thank you to the hotel butler, Molly, who proactively communicated with me well in advance regarding check-in details. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a harbor view room. Throughout my stay, the hotel's professional service attitude was consistently evident. I had the opportunity to experience the hotel's 'Island Walk' and cocktail bar, and also savored the delicious cuisine at the XIAMEN Restaurant. The hotel's comprehensive arrangements saved me the trouble of meticulously planning my itinerary, allowing me to immerse myself more fully in the local culture and customs of Xiamen. The butler service was incredibly responsive, answering almost all my questions and resolving issues immediately. I once again extend my sincere gratitude to Molly, whose professional service attitude left a perfect impression of Xiamen in my mind. I will definitely choose HUALUXE Xiamen again on my next visit to the city.

First off, the hotel's location is a major plus. It's situated right in the (heart of the city's commercial district/at the entrance of a famous scenic spot/next to a transportation hub), making it incredibly convenient whether you're heading out to shop, visit attractions, or catch a flight or train. For guests like me, who are either (sightseeing/on a business trip), it saves a significant amount of valuable time. Secondly, the hotel's service left a deep impression on me. From check-in at the front desk to the concierge helping with luggage, the staff were consistently (warm and professional/efficient and organized). Especially when I requested (an extra pillow/directions for a tourist route), they were quick to respond and resolved my needs perfectly. This kind of thoughtful service truly makes you feel at home.

A very satisfying stay. I brought my kids to Xiamen to play in the sand, and after a lot of research, I chose Shangri-La. It definitely lived up to expectations. The staff I encountered throughout my stay all had excellent service attitudes. They would proactively greet us and offer help. Before check-in, Yulia from Guest Services called and added me on WeChat, asking about our needs in advance and making arrangements. During our stay, she also promptly helped us book activities. At check-in, the front desk staff actively showed us several types of ocean-view rooms and helped us upgrade to a full ocean-view room for an additional charge. The staff in the Executive Lounge were also very friendly. Although the lounge was extremely busy with many guests during the holiday, the staff maintained their smiling service. The hotel rooms were, needless to say, great. Although the hotel has some years on it, the overall condition of the rooms is very well-maintained. The full ocean-view room offered excellent views; you could lie in bed and watch the sunrise over the sea. Outside the window was the Xiamen-Kinmen Bridge construction site, which many people online had warned against. However, for a family with a little boy, it was actually a bonus, as he could watch excavators while enjoying the sea view. The sand at Guanyinshan Beach downstairs was a bit coarse, but it was sufficient for a little boy to play in. However, if you want finer sand, you'd need to go to other beaches. The hotel arranged daily parent-child beachcombing activities, with times varying based on the tides. Spots were limited and required advance booking. For two children, there was an additional charge. The children's playground downstairs also allowed the kids to burn off plenty of energy. Overall, we were very satisfied. Areas for improvement: Firstly, the afternoon tea at the Horizon Club was not replenished promptly. Several times, I found the entire area empty with no snacks or fruit. The à la carte breakfast also took quite a while to be served, requiring a long wait. Secondly, there were many paid activities. For children aged six to twelve, many activities incurred additional charges, and most K20 Club activities were also charged. For a room priced at one thousand, the hotel could easily increase the room rate slightly and include all children's activities, which would significantly improve the user experience.

This hotel was originally the one I was most looking forward to during our self-driving trip. But this experience also made me once again determined not to book homestays when traveling in the future. First, let me talk about the good feelings: 1. Before checking in, the housekeeper took the initiative to contact me, added WeChat, and gave me directions from Sanqiutian Wharf to the hotel. I watched the video first to get a general impression and then followed the navigation to find the hotel's location accurately. 2. The room type I booked has two rooms. I was taken to see both rooms first and choose the one I like. 3. Wheelchairs, strollers, umbrellas, these thoughtful little items are all available. The child's foot was broken and the plaster had just been removed. We didn't bring our wheelchair to the island, but luckily the hotel had a wheelchair, which was a great help. 4. The environment of the small courtyard is really great. The guy with glasses in the hotel is a very nice person. He has a sense of boundaries and is very enthusiastic. He likes to chat with children. The restaurant he recommends is also very delicious. Let me talk about the unsatisfactory parts: 1. As soon as I walked in, I had a bad feeling. I was not greeted by ”Hello, are you checking in? / How can I help you?” but ”What are you here for?” ”What's your name?” ”The room is still being cleaned, at least an hour (but another room had already been cleaned)”. 2. The actual situation of the room...I can only say that the picture is rendered too well. Every item in the room showed roughness and lack of maintenance. 3. There was a serious problem with the sewer in the room. It smelled so bad that it made me dizzy and want to vomit. I put the minibar diffuser next to the bed, but it still couldn't cover up the stench. 4. As the most expensive room type in the hotel, one has a noisy heating device on the top and the other is close to the street with pedestrians and garbage trucks which is also very noisy. It is really not a particularly good experience. 5. The so-called free travel photography is even more outrageous. It is completely a traffic diversion. It is arranged in advance, but it is completely equivalent to no appointment. I arrived at 2:30 pm on time. There was only one makeup artist in the store. The photographers must have been out for work. Then the grandma said impatiently that it wouldn't be that fast and I should just wait. I gave up decisively.

The last time I came to Gulangyu, I was shocked by the scale and momentum of Huangjia Garden. This time I came to Gulangyu to experience it specially, it was a surprise! The environment of Huangjia Garden is very quiet. Take a slow walk in the garden, watch the gardens and buildings of the large families of the Republic of China, and touch the 100-year history of this key cultural relics protection unit in the country. The location of the hotel is very convenient, and the back door goes directly to the garden of Yuanzhuang and the back beach of Hong Kong. It was also very quiet at night, and you could see Sunlight Rock from the window of the hotel room. The service of the staff was very good, and Director Xiao Liu carried my big box all the way to the room.
