"My stay here was a delightful surprise! The hotel kindly upgraded me to a premium king room free of charge. My room was on a high floor with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows offering a fantastic view. The space inside was bright and spacious, with plenty of natural light, and everything was spotlessly clean with no strange odors. Free parking downstairs was a huge plus, making it super convenient for those traveling by car. The facilities were excellent and made for a comfortable stay, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. It offers incredible value for money. This will definitely be my top choice for accommodation whenever I'm in town again!"

The sunset glow painting the ocean surface creates an incredibly atmospheric scene. The room itself is spacious and elegant, with a plush, skin-friendly king-size bed. GGuest UserFive out of five stars, I highly recommend Gulangyu Bayview Hotel! The location is absolutely perfect – it's just a few minutes' walk along the coast from the Sanchietian Pier, so you don't have to drag your luggage up hills. Plus, the hotel staff meet you upon arrival, which saves a lot of effort and worry. Just a few steps outside, and you're on Longtou Road Snack Street, making exploring and eating incredibly convenient. It’s lively yet quiet, and not noisy at all. The century-old banyan tree in front of the hotel stands as a witness to the passage of time. The room was clean, dry, and free of dampness. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the smart toilet was a nice touch. The bedding was soft, ensuring a very restful sleep. The front desk service was gentle and attentive. They patiently recommended lesser-known spots and authentic local snacks on the island. Luggage storage and travel guidance were all perfectly arranged. This trip to Gulangyu was exceptionally comfortable. The sea view, environment, service, and location were all top-notch. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time, and I strongly recommend it to any friends visiting Gulangyu to stay for a few nights!

GGuest UserAs an IHG member, I chose the InterContinental Xiamen Seaview for a trip to Xiamen with my parents to celebrate my mother's birthday. I communicated my needs via email before arrival, and the hotel upgraded us to a high-floor sea view room upon check-in, offering superb views, including a glimpse of the Mazu statue. The beach is just a ten-minute walk away, and getting around by taxi is very convenient. The room included a complimentary first round of mini-bar items and welcome fruit. The pool and sauna experience were excellent. When a minor issue arose with the room equipment, the hotel promptly responded by upgrading us to an adjacent room, and the resolution was very satisfactory. Special thanks to our butler, Vivian, who was incredibly responsive and helpful with all matters throughout our stay, solving many of our problems with exceptional dedication. The breakfast selection was extensive, and they even provided an extra breakfast for our party of three. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I would definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Xiamen.

GGuest UserOur experience was fantastic! As soon as we drove up, a bellhop jogged over to open the door, immediately helped with our luggage, and directed us to parking. When checking in, the front desk agent, Sophia, noticed I had a child and proactively upgraded our room and brought over kids' toiletries. After checking out, I realized I'd forgotten a book, and when I called, they found it right away. Their perfectly balanced enthusiasm made us feel incredibly welcome. The bedding was high-thread-count and super comfortable, making for a very refreshing sleep. The double vanity, separate walk-in closet, and extra-large bathtub all exuded comfort. As for breakfast, it was incredibly rich and varied; everything you could want was there. We had a great time eating with the kids.

GGuobao^_^Overall, it was pretty good. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around. The pier is about 500 meters from the entrance, and it's just a fifteen-minute boat ride to Xiamen No. 1 Pier, making it easy to go anywhere. A concierge even proactively helped us with directions to the pier; he was really enthusiastic 👍. The ferry ticket to Gulangyu Island was only 35 RMB, and the hotel breakfast was decent too. Regarding the upgrade to a deluxe sea-view room (subject to availability on the day): I booked a superior sea-view room, and the front desk upgraded us to a deluxe sea-view family room. For the mini-bar, you need to proactively contact the front desk for refills. Also, for the cute little souvenir doll included in the package, you need to ask the front desk for it. It's a really adorable doll 🥰

IIain13This is a duplicate of my review for dates from 6 to 8 June 2026, as I extended my stay for one night. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay here again. The location is excellent. It's right next to the metro, directly across the road from China City Mall, and within easy walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, the waterfront and the ferry wharf. It made exploring Xiamen incredibly easy. The staff were consistently helpful and efficient. They obtained information about the Xiamen-Kinmen ferry, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast restaurant staff deserve special mention as they were always friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed pleased to see their guests each morning. The room itself was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was excellent and while I didn't use the bath, the shower was very good. The hotel also has a nice swimming pool, gym and lounge area, all of which added to the overall experience. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices, both Asian and Western, and a pleasant atmosphere. I only intended to stay a short time, but enjoyed both the hotel and Xiamen enough that I extended my stay by an extra night. From my room I had good views, including Zheng Chenggong's statue on Gulangyu Island and Xiamen's Twin Towers in the distance. This hotel certainly helped make my stay in Xiamen an enjoyable one. I left with very positive memories and would gladly stay here again.

Zhongshan Road, the ferry terminal, and the Eighth Market are all right next to the hotel, just a three-minute walk away. Our room was spotless, very spacious, and had no strange odors. GGuest UserHad a terrible experience. The comforter was damp. Aside from the sea view, it was worse than staying at an Atour. The most frustrating thing was the long wait to check out. When I asked the front desk, I was actually scolded! I reflected on it afterwards: 1. I wasn't feeling well and my reactions were slow. 2. If a five-star hotel can't shake off its 'Kong Yiji' (pretentious and outdated) attitude, it should at least maintain its facilities, even if the price is a bit higher. 3. Maybe I haven't stayed at hotels requiring a deposit much in recent years.

AAnonymous UserTraveling with my child, I found the lobby grand and the room clean and hygienic. The disposable slippers and toiletries were great, and they even provided children's lotion, which was a thoughtful touch. The kids' club was also quite clean; although not very large, it was perfect for an hour of fun to let the kids burn off some energy. What impressed me most was the Le Wei restaurant. The buffet allows one child under 120cm to dine for free, which is very practical and considerate. The hotel is right next to the Rainbow Boardwalk and the beach, and the beachfront restaurant even has live music, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Overall, it's an excellent family-friendly hotel. My child had a fantastic experience and said they want to come back again.
