Xiamen Beach Hotels

Overall, I'm extremely satisfied! I stayed here for 3 days during my trip to Xiamen, and they upgraded us to a sea-view room. The hotel isn't located on the island, so transportation isn't the most convenient. However, compared to hotels of similar quality on the island, the price is very advantageous, making the transportation costs worthwhile. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and warm. Whenever we encountered housekeeping staff in the hallway, they always greeted us proactively. On our departure day, when they learned we were checking out and heading home, they even asked if we needed two bottles of mineral water for the road. On a daily basis, when taking a taxi, staff at the hotel entrance would always help open and close the car doors, and their attitude was excellent. On Mid-Autumn Festival, we returned to our room to find a mooncake, which was a very thoughtful touch! When they found out I wanted to take a bath, they brought me a disposable bathtub liner, and also provided disposable toilet seat covers. In short, it felt like a home away from home – a truly wonderful stay.

Staying at the Intercontinental Sea View again, it's still as warm and familiar as ever. The concierge at the entrance provided excellent service, making me feel delighted right from the start – a perfect first impression! Although the room's decor is a bit older, it's well-maintained, and we were upgraded to an executive floor, which was great. The toiletries are still Byredo, a scent I love. I'd like to specially commend Zhang Hongmin, the housekeeper, and Bingbing, the supervisor, for their swift response to guest requests and their meticulous service. Thank you!

This hotel is closest to Piano Wharf and not far from Sanqiutian Wharf. It's very close to the shore, yet tucked away in a quiet spot. On the way, you'll pass the Gulangyu Museum. My room was on the first floor and was well-decorated and very clean. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

Location: About a 10 to 20-minute walk to Zhongshan Road. The sea-view room offers a view of the ocean across the street, with a relatively wide and open field of vision. Dining: There is a good variety of local specialty breakfasts; I tried the peanut soup and rice noodle paste. Amenities: They only offer paid laundry service, with no self-service washers and dryers. I've stayed at various guesthouses, 4-star, 5-star, and diamond-rated hotels, and all of them had self-service laundry facilities. This is the first time I've encountered a hotel without one. Even a coin-operated or QR-code paid machine would be acceptable. Packing damp clothes into a suitcase for hours is just really hard to accept. The hotel also lacks delivery robots, which makes getting food delivery a bit inconvenient. Service: The staff are proactive and enthusiastic, and the room service after ordering food was thoughtful and attentive.

I booked here because it’s highly recommended and known for 4-star quality — yes, it was pricier at ~1227/2nights, but I understood it was peak National Holiday season so I went ahead for 2 nights. ✅ What I loved: Breakfast is excellent — wide, rich variety, thoroughly enjoyed every meal.The bed is huge and perfect — so comfortable and convenient Good reputation and solid standard overall plus the location. ⚠️ Where it fell short: Booked late so limited rooms left — got the Business Room, which has no window — honestly, I didn’t like that at all. No bedside lights,made the room feel dim. Bathroom was the biggest letdown: no ceiling rainfall shower, only a handheld head that can’t be adjusted up or down. It’s mounted high above my head so I had to hold it the whole time or water sprayed straight onto the wall. Water easily overflows onto the floor because of gaps in the shower glass — messy every time. The hair dryer was in bad condition so I had it replace. I was provided with a new one,better quality.👍 I really considered asking to change rooms, but my schedule was packed — back late, leave early — so moving would’ve just wasted travel time. If you get a better room category, I’m sure it lives up to its 4-star name. But for ¥600 plus/night, this room felt far from the quality I expected. Great breakfast & bed aside, the room and bathroom need real improvement.

The service was excellent. Our next destination was affected by a typhoon, so we extended our stay for another day. I personally saw the cleaning staff's meticulous work; everything was very clean and tidy. For those who enjoy tea, you can proactively request extra bottles of water. The breakfast was the only one during our 10+ day trip that offered local specialty snacks, and the Satay noodles were much better than the takeout we had the night before. During the day, children can play in the water or go to the kids' club, making it very suitable for family trips.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and dining. The room was clean, odor-free, and spacious, with soft, comfortable bedding. The bathroom had great water pressure. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient with check-in and check-out, and they were quick to respond to any requests. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and my top choice for travel. Highly recommended! Plus, Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street is right downstairs.

On my third day in Xiamen, I chose to stay at the Portman Qixingwan Xihai Hotel🏨! The entire hotel complex is huge, with a strong French ambiance. The room decor is very new, exquisitely furnished and beautiful, clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. The service is excellent, staff are friendly, and requests are handled quickly. It's very close to the beach, within walking distance, and it's especially pleasant to feel the sea breeze in the evening. Overall, it was a great holiday experience, and I'll choose this place again next time I visit Xiamen!

The location is super convenient! Right next to Zhongshan Road, within walking distance to the ferry terminal, and just a few minutes' boat ride to Gulangyu Island. The surrounding area is packed with local snacks and shopping malls, so after a tiring night of wandering around, it's just a short walk back to the hotel—pure happiness! The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was quite good, offering a quiet retreat in the bustling city. The front desk staff were very friendly, and check-in and check-out were both super efficient. I'll definitely consider staying here again next time I visit Xiamen!

The surrounding area is quiet, and transportation is convenient, making it suitable for both leisure and business stays. Overall, the experience was satisfying and highly recommended.
