The hotel is centrally located and is close to many tourist attractions. The location is easy to find if you need to call for rides. It is pretty close to metro about 7-10 minutes walking distance. Some of the decors in the hotel have a vintage feeling of Old Shanghai but the facilities are modern. There is a sizable gym and free self-service laundry room but it is being shared with two other hotels so it can get a bit crowded during peak hours. Room was clean and big enough to lay out some luggages and depending on the room you have, you may get a nice view of Nanjing East Road. Bathroom area was spacious and clean while shower and toilet were also nicely functional. Bed was very comfortable and cozy. There is conveniently a robot to deliver takeout food to your room. Taobao packages can also be delivered there. All in all, it is a very nice hotel at the price point in the middle of the city with everything I needed. Nice and helpful customer service really added to the experience as well especially Lin Feng (林枫)and his colleagues! Lin Feng went above and beyond giving me tips about how to have an enjoyable stay, how to navigate the laundry room, and helping me book with them a second time etc. I would not mind staying here a third or more times when I'm back in Shanghai again.

Amazing location right on Nanjing pedestrian street. Shopping malls and eateries all within walking distance.
Staff are friendly and respectful.
We asked for a quiet room and it was sorted out very quickly and we were even able to check in a little earlier. A special thank you to the lovely gentleman Alex at front desk who is professional, helpful and is an absolute star ⭐️
Our room on level 5 though having no view was nice and quiet and as described online. The walls are quite thin so you can sometimes hear people next door/upstairs etc… but not too much to ruin the stay.
Breakfast was ok. Lots of Chinese and western options so even a fussy eater will find something to eat.
Keep in mind if you are being dropped off/picked up by a taxi, it will be done on the street as there is no off road spot at the front of the hotel.
Only one lift to enter the hotel which can be a little crowded. Lobby is on level 4.

Location was good, service was good. Just to mention their centralised air-condition system, every traveller has their own comfortable temperate to feel relax, crowne plaza always kept it at 25 degree in the summer and made it stuffy to sleep well at night. Despite they had a wall-mounted adjustable temperate controller, it was not working. The last time we stayed was during the winter and they kept the temperature at 25 degree and kept the windows shut, which forced us to change hotel at the 2nd night and forfeited the rest.
This would be the last time i booked with this hotel.

It was a very comfortable stay for my first trip to Shanghai. The staff were all very kind, and although their English was limited, they provided attentive and satisfying service. The location is convenient, about a 15 minute walk to the beginning of Nanjing East Road. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money!

My third time there, hope there will be s fourth one soon! 😁🫶

First off, huge thanks to the amazing staff here: Lu, Li, and Shu! 💕 They’re all so kind, approachable, and generous. Even the cleaning ladies are the sweetest. One time, I had to rush out and left my clothes in the washing machine, and one of them kindly moved them to the dryer room for me. Such a thoughtful gesture that really shows how much they care for guests.
This is honestly the BEST hostel I’ve ever stayed in when it comes to location, cleanliness, amenities, and hospitality. It truly feels like home.
✅ Location
Perfect! Super easy to find on both Google Maps and Amap. The hostel is only a 2-minute walk to People’s Square Subway Station and Nanjing Road, with restaurants, bars, spas, malls, and a 7/11 nearby. I also love that they have an English sign outside super helpful for tourists. Many hostels here don’t even appear on Google Maps (since it doesn’t work in China), so it was a nice surprise this one does. For accuracy though, I recommend downloading Amap, it’s reliable when exploring the city.
✅ Cleanliness
Definitely five-star level. The shared bathrooms and showers are cleaned and sanitized every hour, and the sinks are always wiped dry so your stuff doesn’t get wet when you set it down. That small detail makes a huge difference! They even have a dressing room just for touch-ups, so rare in hostels. Bedsheets smelled fresh, and they gave me clean ones for every night of my stay. And instead of thin blankets, they provide duvets! Such a HUGE plus. As someone who always gets cold feet, that little touch honestly made my nights so cozy and comfortable.
✅ Amenities
They’ve thought of everything. There’s a small gym and yoga studio on the 3rd floor (right next to my room 348 😅), both clean and convenient. Each room also has designated lockers to keep your belongings safe, which gave me so much peace of mind.
There’s also a common station if you want to study or work. But the best part? FREE laundry. Yes, free! Detergent included. And the kind cleaning ladies even help you dry your clothes in the dryer room. They also provide a steamer if you need to iron, which is so much better than the usual bulky ironing boards.
✅ Atmosphere & Hospitality
The vibe here is amazing. It doesn’t feel like just a budget stay it feels like a community. The staff genuinely care and go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable. Every little detail from helping with laundry to greeting you with a smile makes you feel welcome and cared for. The lobby is cozy and a great place to meet fellow travelers if you’re social, but it’s also quiet enough if you just want to relax.
I’ve stayed in plenty of hostels, but this one stands out. The combination of a perfect location, spotless facilities, thoughtful amenities, secure lockers, and the warm hospitality of the staff makes it unbeatable.
If you’re planning to stay in Shanghai, I HIGHLY recommend this hostel. For the price, the value is incredible: prime location, super clean, free laundry, a gym, secure lockers, and staff that truly treat you like family. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip. ❤️

Facilities: They have a washing machine with a dryer, which I didn't get to try as I arrived quite late this time. The TV offers live broadcasts with 30 channels, including major networks, which was sufficient. All necessary shower amenities are provided, along with both disposable and bathroom slippers. The showerhead even features multiple spray settings. The WiFi speed wasn't great, which might be related to the high occupancy – I noticed a lot of international guests during my stay.
Service: They offer a parcel receiving service, but it seems they handle a lot of deliveries, so it's best to know what your package looks like to help them find it faster. The breakfast provided for airport transfers was sufficient to fill up on, with options like fresh eggs that you can fry yourself, freshly ground coffee, congee, siu mai, and fresh fruit.
Cleanliness: Cleanliness was satisfactory.
Environment: The area downstairs is packed with small restaurants, so you'll never go hungry, no matter the hour.
Pudong Airport Shuttle Service: They offer a scheduled minibus shuttle to Pudong Airport; during regular hours, just contact them in advance, and it generally runs once an hour. The airport drop-off is a shared coach service with other hotels. It departs each hotel at XX:40 and arrives at the terminal on the hour. Make sure to manage your time accordingly. It drops off at Terminal 1 first, then Terminal 2.
Disneyland Shuttle: I didn't get to try the Disneyland shuttle this time. My original plan was to arrive by 3 PM and use the free shuttle to scout the area a day beforehand, but my travel schedule was delayed. Maybe next time if the opportunity arises.

The hotel was very clean and we had an amazing stay. The highlight of the stay aside from the amazing city of Chongqing was Dengrong one of the hotel staff. She was available whenever we needed help and was extremely nice and helped us arrange a great itinerary for our stay. Her hotpot recommendation was great! Will definitely consider booking again. Thank you Dengrong!! 😁😁🌹🌹
We stayed here for our last 3 days in Shanghai. Picked it as it was close to the attractions we wanted to see plus there was a free shuttle going to them and the airport ☺️ The staff were friendly and helpful. Laundry service which was great and a big selection for breakfast. Starbucks, HeyTea, mc D and other little chinese restaurants and supermarket like 2 mins walk away. We also had a very good facial near the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Was also my daughter’s birthday so they made the room all cute for her. Water and new slippers in the room every day..

CChristineA very satisfying and pleasant stay at Mercure Yu Garden for 6 nights. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Free drinks, coffee, tea and cookies are provided in the room. The breakfast has many varieties and delicious. Supper is provided. Shuttle bus is provided. Recommended!
AAmila MoonamaleNovotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha is an excellent choice for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. The hotel is exceptionally clean, with modern amenities and spacious rooms. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. A standout feature is the free shuttle service to Pudong Airport, making transfers hassle-free. For Disneyland visitors, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle, placing you just minutes from the magic. Its location near Chuansha Metro Station adds further accessibility. With great dining options and a well-equipped gym, this hotel delivers both leisure and business convenience. Highly recommended for families.
FFairy DeeThe room is good and small but doesn’t feel crammed. Front desk is friendly and speak English. There’s a laundry room. Food will get delivered to your room. Walking distance from the subway , Shanghai railway station and most land marks. It’s in the center of the city or close to it. Many restaurants close by. This was my third stay and I’d stay here again.
GGuest UserI booked a Deluxe Suite, which was 43 square meters – larger than the family rooms at Atour (this was my initial reason for choosing it). The window view was absolutely beautiful, completely lush and green. If you visit in late autumn, with the sycamore leaves outside the window turning yellow, it would offer a different kind of charm, whether sunny or rainy.
The toiletries provided were Acqua di Parma. There was a walk-in closet, which my son loved to hide in and play games. The hotel's restaurant was also very good; for convenience, we had lunch there on the day we arrived, and both the presentation and taste were excellent. For breakfast, there were options for both Chinese and Western set menus.
The location is extremely convenient. It's just over 700 meters from iapm and the subway station. Several popular and renowned coffee shops are within walking distance, including O.P.S, DUO, TIESHOU Coffee Bureau, and Village Entrance Big Tree Coffee.
The hotel has a chic and refined style, making it more suitable for friends or couples traveling together. Of course, it's not entirely without its downsides; because the windows are very large, the soundproofing isn't ideal, so you might want to ask the front desk for earplugs.
WWU.NIENENA Five-Star Experience from Check-In to Farewell!
Review:
Our stay from August 6–9 was one of the most memorable experiences my wife and I have ever had in Shanghai. Upon arrival, we were thoughtfully upgraded to the Pearl Tower Bund View Suite, and every detail throughout our stay reflected The Ritz-Carlton’s Gold Standards.
Special thanks to Mr. Joey Zhang, Ms. Cherry Gan, Ms. Daisy Sun, and Ms. Lydia – their professionalism, warmth, and genuine care made us feel valued and looked after every single day. Lydia, in particular, greeted us with a radiant smile each day, leaving us with one of the warmest memories of this trip.
From the breathtaking views to the comfort of the room and the impeccable service, everything exceeded our expectations. The Ritz-Carlton will remain our only choice whenever we return to Shanghai.
GGuest UserThe hotel room had a very good view and a large tub. Breakfast was good with champagne served. More importantly, the service by Jennie, Deslin and Flora was warm and friendly and made the stay a pleasant one.
GGuest UserThe room environment is very good. Although the available space does not seem very large in the picture, it is actually not as crowded as imagined. It is close to most of the surrounding squares and has convenient transportation.
DdjimanderssonOverall I had a decent experience at this hotel, but the service was lacking, which is a shame since the property is very nice. When you check into a 5 star hotel, there are certain expectations and unfortunately this hotel did not meet them.
Upon arrival there is usually a doorman, helping you with your luggage, opening doors and showing you to the reception. There were none when I arrived. That's fine, not really an issue.
However after I dragged my luggage to the reception the staff ignored me for a solid minute while I was standing right in front of them. Not exactly a five star welcome. Of course the room wasn't ready so I had to wait 15-20 minutes to get my key.
The room was nice and clean with a great view, but had a bit of a strange layout where the sink was in the hallway and the shower in the corner so there's no real place to change clothes unless you close the curtains.
It was raining a lot during my stay but the staff were kind enough to lend me a broken umbrella. Better than nothing I guess. That might actually have been her personal umbrella so I appreciate the gesture nonetheless.
During my stay I had a strange feeling of not really being welcome, which I've never had at a hotel in China before.
Upon checkout the staff tried to pressure me multiple times to give a five star review and include certain names in the review which I did not appreciate. That needs to be earned.
If this hotel improves its service it would be 5 star no doubt, but until then it's not really worth the money.
GGuest UserOverall, our stay was close to perfect. The hotel is near The Bund and Nanjing East Road. We stayed here for 5 nights.
The only thing that disappointed us was the air-conditioning ventilation. Our room was on the 6th floor, and my daughter is allergic to cigarette smoke. On the first night, the whole room smelled like cigarette coming from the aircon vents. It was already late and we were very tired from walking all day, so we didn’t ask to change rooms. Instead, we turned off the aircon and opened the window.
The next day, the lady at the reception, who was really helpful and kind, immediately changed our room after we shared our concern.
TTatyana (谭西亚)My experience was made whole with the exceptional Maxx staff particularly Ross, LiuYuQi and CiCi !! They will go above and beyond to assist in anyway! Really helpful and kind. The view from my roo was really nice! 💐 Location is nice .. its across the street from the bund.
