There are many guests. It has been renovated recently and is quite new. There is a microwave in the room. Although it is next to the road, it is very quiet. The hotel sells Christmas decorations. The counter lobby is decorated in American style. There is fruit for breakfast and the service staff are polite.
First of all it is a Quality Hotel now and not Best Western. It is blue and not red. They are in the process of switching everything over. The room was mostly new furnishings and paint and carpet. The bed was comfortable. The location was what we wanted. The staff was friendly.
The breakfast was okay. We are protein people so eggs and sausage is what we ate. Most hotels could have more variety there.
Overall a nice stay.
Everything was excellent: picking up from the airport, checking in process, cleanliness, amenities in room (microwave & fridge, big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap), amenities outside room, pool - clean, hot tub, gym, very helpful front desk, breakfast, dropping us off at the airport. You have to try it. It's worth it for its price. We love this place.
BBruce BerggrenI booked 2 rooms, 4 nights via trips.com and 1 night via a credit card portal. We normally book direct with the hotel but it the 3rd party sites offered lower costs.
Neither third party booking site disclosed a $3 parking fee at the time of booking. Looking at the hotel website, I also do not see a parking fee disclosure. Mankato is a relatively small town, and the location is not busy enough to justify a parking fee; charging it as a surprise/undisclosed fees (resort, parking, etc) is a dishonest practice you should abandon if you want repeat business.
We were generally happy with the housekeeping, beds and room features. Issues with the TV signal and room keys were resolved by the staff in a timely manner.
I chose Fairfield based on past good experience with Mariott/Residence Inn/Fairfield breakfasts in other cities. We appreciate access to a basic breakfast, and were pleased with the coffee, fruit, and bagels. However the quality of the main course (instant scrambled eggs and so-called ”omelettes”) was disappointing. Yogurts were exclusively fat-free (chalky taste) in a padlocked at 9am sharp. Sausage patties (frozen/warmed) were in short supply and also not appetizing. For the room rate we paid, we hoped for a better breakfast.
GGuest UserWe traveled to visit our son and his family for Christmas. The hotel was located just two miles from our son’s home which meant more time with our grandchildren. The breakfast buffet was delicious, the rooms well appointed with everything we could need and the health and fitness room provided us with and opportunity to unwind after a six hour car drive.
We will definitely book this hotel again!
AAlgero Jermaine BrownHotel was oké for a flight layover. I had an issue with the shuttle service I waited for almost 2.5 hours to be picked up and each time i called they said they were on there way and finally they said oh the driver did not see me. Finally when I see him he had an attitude….. even in the return trip to the airport he had an attitude in the car like someone ate his breakfast…. On check out there was a guy at the reception, he was super friendly and great sorry I don’t remember his name but if he reads this, he know. We spoked about traveling and Mexican food, he made the overall experience worth it and people like these we need more in the hospitality service
GGuest UserSo many issues to list:
1) I had booked a non-smoking room - the hotel did a bait-and-switch and gave me a smoking room instead.
2) The AC unit was barely functional, the room temperature never got below 84 degrees.
3) The bathtub drain was essentially non-functional, taking in excess of 20 minutes to drain after showering.
4) The A.D.A. grab bar in the shower was loose and wobbly, hanging by a couple screws.
5) Half of the ice machines were non-functional, and the other half were absolutely disgusting with dirt and rust.
6) Complimentary breakfast consisted of a barely lit dirty room, with a gallon of milk set out on the counter for who knows how long.
And several other minor problems.
GGuest UserFrom check-in to check-out, we had a very enjoyable experience. Our accessible room was spacious, clean and the bathroom is what one should expect in a room for particular needs with wide doorways, a roll in shower and lower height countertop. Most rooms we have utilized at other hotels seem to only add grab bars and think that is enough to make it an accessible room. At check-in we were invited to be a part of their community with offerings of local events going on. We enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant. The breakfast that was included in our reservation was more than adequate with several hot food items. If we are ever in Warroad again this will be our only choice of lodging.
KKelley JordanStaff were polite an respectful. Very welcoming. Would recommend. Rooms were nice and clean. An just overall a great experience. I didn’t get her name but that front desk lady should get a raise she was very sweet and kind.
