Skye Hotel & Residences - BW Signature Collection ★★★

📍 136 Westmore Drive, Etobicoke, Toronto

"The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I felt the photos we saw when booking were misleading - it appeared larger and said the square footage was between 850-950sqft and our suite was nowhere near that size. The two beds and the sofa were so crammed in that you couldn’t open one of the cupboards and it was difficult to get to the second bed without squeezing against a wall. We did move the desk and table/chairs to make a little more spaceand to me, the layoutsakee more sense the way we left it - with the desk against the window and the table in the little room. The photos made it look like the beds were in a separate room than the sofa/kitchen. It’s possible we were put in the wrong kind of room? There are absolutely no extras here - no pots and pans or ice cube trays. We had 3 plates and one glass in the cabinets. No silverware or dish soap and no detergent for the dishwasher (not that there was anything to put in there). The hotel appeared pretty clean but we also were missing sheets for the pullout. The team did bring us two flat sheets to use and they said they only had one extra pillow (which was fine since the beds had 4 pillows each)."

Best Western Premier Toronto Airport Carlingview Hotel

Best Western Premier Toronto Airport Carlingview Hotel ★★★

📍 135 Carlingview Dr, Etobicoke, Toronto

"I was disappointed with my stay due to the poor level of customer service and housekeeping. When I checked in, the front desk clerk was not welcoming. Although I received my room quickly, I was not given any basic directions, such as what floor my room was on or where to find the elevator. The interaction made me feel unwelcome, and I was left wondering if I was treated differently because of the color of my skin. Housekeeping was also below expectations. I did not receive housekeeping service on the first night. After requesting service, not all of the trash was removed, and the dirty towels were left in the room instead of being replaced. Overall, this was not the level of service I expected from a hotel. Based on my experience, I would not expect a warm or professional welcome—more like the minimal service you would expect at a motel rather than a hotel."

"This is the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. It's run by Chinese people from Guangdong. First, the building itself is clearly low-cost; the floorboards creak with every step, and the door locks seem broken! Secondly, the room layout is terrible. There were no curtains, no power outlets, no lamps, and the whole room was smoky and stuffy! Furthermore, when I arrived late, the lights were completely off! The owner actually made me use my phone flashlight! Luckily, I only booked two nights, or I would have gone crazy. Most importantly, it's hard to find; the location is inaccurate! Homeless people live downstairs! Not recommended."

Fairmont Royal York Hotel Hotels in Toronto

Fairmont Royal York Hotel

"Totally disappointed. We were visiting my son in Toronto. I stayed with my son. My sister and her friend stayed at Royal York mainly for the location and history. I seldom travel in North America because hotels are just too expensive. I favoured Asia much more. We had lunch at the restaurant. There were 5 of us. Services were very slow. One of us ordered steak and eggs for lunch. Steak came with no eggs. The server brought eggs later with no apology. We ordered coffee. Coffee came with no cream and sugar. Oh well. The final night of our stay i had dinner with 2 of my old friends and we went back to lobby bar to meet my sister for a drink. We were seated and there was no server to be seen. When we raised our concern to the manager Karen, she promptly asked us to leave even though we told her we were hotel guests. She intended to embarrass me in front of my friends. It was a first time I got kicked out of bar without even drinking. So we moved across the street to a nice local bar. We were seated and served a bottle of wine at half of the price. I would like to have Fairmont to provide a response from Karen for the reason for kicking us out. So our destination was Montreal and we chose Queen Elizabeth Fairmont. We learnt from Royal York. We avoided the food and beverage at the hotel. I am a seasoned traveler and a Diamond member at Trip.com. This is probably the worst experience I have had in last 10 years of travelling worldwide. I will definitely avoid Fairmont from now on."

"They have a complimentary schüttle that picks you up just outside the baggage area. Complimentary schüttle to the airport on the hour. The complimentary breakfast was a pleasant surprise as there was actually an excellent protein, boiled eggs, Sausages, yoghurt granola and fruit. They had all the other items such as toast, croissants, bagels, muffins, orange and apple juice, waffles you make yourself, tea or coffee with milk or cream. Every area was clean. Quiet at night. Coffee machine in the room with compliment coffee pods and teas. Pump soap and bar soap Shampoo, cream rinse, lotion, shower cap and makeup remover pads. Plenty of towels."

"I had the most disappointing experience here and strongly advise against relying on their so called wake-up call service; you will miss your flight!!. I strongly recommend avoiding this place, as their customer care is nonexistent, and they show a complete lack of concern for your needs and circumstances. It's best to choose a more reliable option elsewhere."
