Toronto Hotels with Bars

Booked Deluxe King Room with breakfast included. Room was spacious and breakfast was great. Yet the standard of housekeeping was far from satisfactory. First, hairs were found at the wrap for the wire of the hair dryer the moment I checked in, and small scrap of paper was also found on the inside of a towel. Without any notice/sign in the room about the hotel's green housekeeping policy (if any), towels heavily loaded on the hook and hangers in the bathroom were not collected even on day 3 of my stay (there was no bath tub in the room to place used towels). Packs of cotton pads, cotton buds and small soaps were not refilled even when totally used up. Interesting enough, when enquired with front desk if that was the hotel's policy not to so collect the towels and make the refill unless express requests were made, the answer was in the negative. The charging of tips for breakfast is another interesting issue. My husband stayed at the hotel for 2 nights (with breakfast included) before my arrival. When he checked out, he was asked to pay for tips for 1 breakfast. After clarifying if tips should be paid for 2 breakfasts instead, front desk apologized for having wrongly charged for any tips as all charges should have already been included when making the hotel booking. Yet on our checking out after 5 nights' stay with the hotel, we were told that we had to pay for tips for 2 days' breakfast. We again enquired about the hotel policy and explained that we were willing to pay but wondered why tips weren't charged for all 5 days for our stay. No explanation was given and the staff (probably thought that we did not want to pay) just advised that the charges would be waived. I have stayed at Park Hyatt Bangkok and the service was excellent. Was thus surprised to had those experience at Park Hyatt Toronto.

Stepping inside, it immediately felt like coming home. I was greeted in Chinese, a welcome and long-missed feeling after being away for so long. The hosts were incredibly warm and even offered me some delicious stuffed flatbread. We chatted, and I even managed to do my laundry. The best part was finding a running store, Running Room, right outside the door – a place I'd been searching for ages! I was thrilled to get a new pair of running shoes. Staying at a B&B offers a completely different experience compared to a hotel. The room was so comfortable; it was the best night's sleep I've had in days. If I had to pick a con, it would be that there's only one, rather small, bathroom. It so happened that a friend came to meet me and was waiting outside while I urgently needed to use the restroom. However, an elderly gentleman was in there, and I had to wait for what felt like a very long time, probably about 10-15 minutes. Besides that, everything was absolutely perfect!

I was initially apprehensive about staying in an ”old” hotel, but my worries came to rest. It was similar to a cottage theme with very clean rooms and adequate amentities. Staff were always very friendly, greeting us everytime we leave and return to the hotel, and responds promptly to our housekeeping requests. 10 minutes from the hotel, there is a park with a calming stream, a great place to rest and rewind from the busy city life. Nearest train station is just 5 minutes walk away, and a 30-45 minutes car ride to downtown. Some downsides though, there are no nearby restaurants besides the one in the hotel, and no nearby supermarkets. Utensils were not provided in the room so be prepared to bring your own set. Hotel lifts seem a bit worn out but had not broken down during my stay. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay given the calm surrounding vibes and amazing service. I would consider returning in the future

Facilities: Hilton's quality is top-notch, and the room has a mini-fridge. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Environment: The external environment is amazing! It's in the city center, feels like a food street, with all sorts of delicious food right outside. Service: The front desk and restaurant staff provided excellent service.

There was a constant noise coming from the toilet that prevented us from getting any rest. Even though a technician came, he couldn't fix it. However, everything else was fine. We had a good stay!

Great: 1. Unbeatable location. That stretch of Bloor St W has restaurants, coffee shops, used bookstores (my favorite!), and more. Subway station, streetcars, and a Bike Share Toronto hub just around the corner. Christie Pits park nearby. Incredibly walkable. 2. Clean room and useful amenities. Love that slippers were available from the amenities closet. (Slippers seem to be common in hotels in Asia, so I was delighted to find them here.) 2. Responsive customer service. My room had a small issue (intermittent loud buzzing sound of mysterious origin in the night). When I raised this with the Nomas WhatsApp number, Umesh was responsive and offered to move me into a different room. Thankfully the sound eventually vanished after a couple nights! I have no opinion on: 1. Bellis. I didn't eat at the Bellis bar (mainly because I wanted to check out the other offerings nearby). 2. Lockers. I didn't try the lockers, but they looked useful. I saw someone describe this hotel along the lines of ”it's a bar with hallways and rooms.” Isn't that what all hotels are, ultimately? Could be better: 1. My room was near the washrooms for the bar. At night, shrieky bar customers would congregate near the washrooms to chat. Had to get up to shut the soundproofing hallway door a couple of times. Not too big of a deal because the soundproofing is effective. I'd definitely stay here again!

Room is big, clean and has a nice view. Great swimming experience and sauna, there’s a gym too. The room is near the elevator as I requested  and the receptionist is very accommodating. Bring your own slippers specially if you are planning to use the swimming pool.

Excellent location just steps from King subway station and a short walk to Union Station. Clean, spacious room with comfortable bed and an amazing view (from top floor tower room). Bathroom was a bit tight.

The service, amenities, and dining all meet a certain standard. It only takes about 25 minutes to drive from the airport to the hotel, yet the hotel is located in the city center. I stayed in room 408 and initially thought it might be noisy being on a lower floor, but it turned out to be quite good. A special shout-out goes to Ms. Monira from housekeeping; whenever I returned, she had already quietly tidied and cleaned the room perfectly. What's even more impressive is that she would arrange my belongings according to my habits, which is incredibly thoughtful and personalized. She is a very responsible and meticulous employee. I will definitely choose Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre by IHG again next time I visit my daughter in Toronto.

Good! I had a very pleasant stay at Crowne Plaza Toronto. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional, and the location was convenient for getting around the city. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely stay here again.
