"A very pleasant stay at the Pipa Old Inn. A very historical building, though the place is equipped with all necessary modern amenities save for an elevator. Fortunately the staff very helpful assisted us with lugging up our heavy luggage to our room on the 3rd floor. Very beautifully decorated and strategically located in the heart of Datong Ancient City. Very pleasant and helpful staff who helped us plan and arrange our trips around Datong though sadly, they weren't very proficient in English (but that's common in China). Free breakfast was included in our stay and there was a decent spread though the menu didn't change much over our stay there save for one or two vegetable dishes being rotated. Overall definitely worth a return trip and stay in Datong Ancient City."

"From Beijing high-speed rail 1.5h direct to Datong, stay at Manyue Hotel, the location is awesome! 🚗 12 kilometers from Yungang Grottoes (about 25 minutes by car/taxi), only 3 kilometers from the ancient city (10 minutes by car), take the baby to play more time-saving! Visit the grottoes during the day, visit the ancient city at night, come back and take a bath, the itinerary is perfect Breakfast is super rich: there are freshly made noodles, hot milk, children's tableware, the baby carries the plate to choose food, eat more fragrant than at home! 🚗 Free parking: Self-driving families are super convenient, parking spaces are sufficient, and charging piles are also provided (new energy vehicles are friendly)! 💁 Service is super intimate: the front desk lady is super enthusiastic, helped plan the best route of ”Yungang Grottoes + Ancient City Day Tour”, avoiding the peak of the flow of people, and having a great time! "We booked 4 rooms this time, with 7 people in our group + 1 child. The rooms are very clean and each has its own character and name. There are tatami beds and double beds. A large tatami bed is specially arranged for children, so they can sleep peacefully 😁. The room is fully equipped with various disposable toiletries and an instant water kettle. I especially like the service 👍🏻. The breakfast variety is much richer than we imagined, including eggs, corn, pumpkin, sweet potato, millet porridge, minced meat noodles, small cold dishes, fruits, and they even made cakes for the children. On the first day we arrived at the B&B, the staff came to meet us and help with our luggage. It was raining, and they reminded us that there were umbrellas available at the door. I also boiled some hot water to drink. There is a big solid wooden table in the lobby on the first floor, with fruits and snacks on it. The children were very happy 😄. The inside and outside of the door are carefully decorated with green plants and hydrangeas, which is very comfortable. The geographical location is perfect for our travel, close to the main road, with parking spaces available. When we don't want to drive, we can take a taxi or stroll into the ancient city for shopping and eating. As soon as I went out, I saw the city wall. I went to see the night view on my last night! This time everyone praised the convenient location."

"This newly built hotel is amazing with elegant antique decoration furnitures & equipped with smart facilities. The location is very convenient, within walking distance to the lively ancient city. Beautifully prepared breakfast was served every morning. The boss & family are super friendly, nice & provided impeccable service. Giving us thoughtful excursion ideas & recommendations which saved us a lot of time & efforts. We highly recommend this hotel without a doubt & would definitely return again in the future."

"I had the most beautiful time in Datong, and a big part of that was due to my stay at Renyi Inn! First of all, the host is so kind and friendly. She always greets you with a smile. She even brought fresh watermelon for free everyday to my room :) more importantly, the whole hotel as well as the room we're super clean. The interior was so beautifully traditional. And it's only a 3min walk away from the major temple and all the main shopping streets. If you stay in Datong (which you definitely should, it has so much to offer), stay at Renyi Inn!"

"I decided to go to Datong temporarily. I saw this homestay on the Internet and decided directly. Because there was rain in the past few days, I stayed at the homestay most of the time. The homestay facilities are advanced, the whole house is intelligent, the bedding is comfortable, the house is particularly clean, and the environment is elegant. "This is a newly opened hotel with very comfortable and clean rooms. We booked a family room with our children, but there were no rooms available. "The most surprising thing about this trip was choosing this B&B! The boss is very enthusiastic. He took the initiative to contact us before check-in and informed us of the route and surrounding tips in detail. When we arrived, he personally greeted us at the door, helped us carry our luggage upstairs, and introduced the local characteristics and hidden attractions along the way like a friend. The next morning, she personally cooked a hot breakfast for us and even planned our transportation. She truly met our every request! The B&B environment is impeccable! The room is clean and tidy, the decoration style is warm and tasteful, and the bedding is so soft that it feels like sleeping on a cloud. The most surprising thing is the small garden in the yard, which is surrounded by green plants and has a swing chair. It is very healing to sit and watch the stars at night. The bathroom is fully equipped with supplies, even moisturizing body lotion is thoughtfully prepared, perfect details! Living here is like living at home. "Incredible guesthouse. Spotless clean, beautifully decorated, super friendly staff, and incredibly strong internet (the strongest I’ve seen so far in China). They gave me an entire fruit bowl as a welcome gift. Lovely! It was not easy to find (the address shows a slightly different location), but eventually some neighbors helped me. The location was ok in the northern side of the ancient city, roughly 15-25 min by foot to the main sights. The best restaurants are also the same distance away. The only thing I didn’t like was the breakfast. Considering that this hotel was world class on every other dimension, it almost felt surprising. Other than that, it was fantastic. I’d come again!"

"The price is very high, the hot spring is not big but clean and hygienic, it has local bathing characteristics, the guests are basically regular customers, slow and comfortable. The back is also a major feature. It costs less than 100 yuan to enjoy an hour of squatting, pressing, pinching, and flushing. Basically, they are all done in a deep sleep. Unfortunately, there are too many people in the queue, and I can't wait for more than an hour. I can leave my hope to the next time."
