GGuest UserI can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.

GGuest UserI highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone visiting Datong! The owner is incredibly warm and thoughtful. They proactively communicated with me even before I arrived and, upon check-in, immediately provided a meticulously prepared guide covering attractions, transportation, and local food – truly a one-stop solution that saved me so much hassle. The local snacks they recommended were authentic and delicious; following their advice, I never had a bad meal. The guesthouse itself is clean and elegant, with a prime location that makes getting around very convenient. The service is genuine and attentive, making for an absolutely wonderful experience. It was a super heartwarming trip, and I genuinely recommend it to everyone!

GGuest UserThe location is superb, right within the ancient city. For those driving, parking is available at the Nine Dragon Wall parking lot, just a 100-meter walk away. Despite being in a tourist area, it offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Guandi Temple is also conveniently located nearby. The service was excellent, and breakfast was quite good too. Both the owner and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Although the May Day holiday prices were significantly higher than usual, the convenience made it completely worthwhile. Highly recommended!

BBrendanmThe Renyi is a wonderful hotel in a great location looking onto the City walls. We were greeted by the friendly and welcoming owner who showed us to our rooms.
We were two independent travellers who decided to have a room each, and both rooms were superb. Mine looked onto the pretty courtyard while my friend’s faced the City walls, with each having a balcony with table and chairs.
Both rooms were duplex with comfortable and spacious living areas and bathroom/showers downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. All areas were spotlessly clean and the bed was big and comfortable and I had a wonderful night sleep.
Centre stage though is the gorgeous communal area which was adorned with beautiful plants and flowers, a small fish pond and even a peacock that gloriously but quietly strutted its stuff.
The location of the hotel is perfect for walking around the ancient city with the major tourist attractions only minutes from the hotel’s door. The ancient city itself is stunning and delightful to walk around.
We also took a trip to the nearby Yungang Grottoes which are breathtaking and a must see. We were both amazed by their beauty and historical significance to both Chinese and Buddhist cultures.
There are also many great restaurants within walking distance of the Renyi, and the owners were very helpful and provided us with any advice we needed.
As other reviewers have said the Renyi is a beautiful blend of historic and modern and I would highly recommended the hotel to anyone thinking of staying in DaTong.

SSB888The hotel is located close to a lively area, making it very convenient to explore nearby shops and restaurants.
The owner was very friendly and welcoming. They kindly picked us up at the railway station and helped us arrange a car rental to visit Xuankong Temple, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, and the Yungang Grottoes.
The breakfast was also delicious and a great way to start the day.
Their hospitality and assistance made our trip much easier and more enjoyable.

*The place is close to the scenic spot (few minutes by car).
*The breakfast is not too bad. Few choices but it will fill you up.No drinks (juice or coffee).
*The accomodation was nice to drop and pick us up at the scenic area.They dropped us off to the bus station going to Datong city.
*Problem was the bad odour coming from the toilet. We think it’s from the drainage. We can’t even open the door for few minutes for air to come in because it is freezing. It’s negative degrees.
*The room was nice and comfortable. I can’t find photos or video of the interior. The size of the room is perfect. It has a long bench.Table with 1 small chair.Tv, closet, slippers,toothbrush, hair dryer,kettle and 2 bottle of water.

KKizzaI had a great one night stay at the Hauting Hotel. It’s a large, modern hotel conveniently located in a building attached to a big shopping centre, which made it easy to grab food or essentials. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, with individual heating and cooling and electric opening and closing window dressings.
The shower had excellent water temperature and pressure, and the bathroom was well-stocked with quality toiletries including shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, and toothpaste. A great bonus was the free laundry facilities. It has a gym also but I didn’t try that.
Breakfast featured a nice spread of Asian cuisine, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a great experience and excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend it to others visiting Datong.

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is perfect. It is the right place to stay when visiting the Hanging Temple and Jin Temple. The room and bed are large, especially suitable for bringing children. It is no problem for a family of three to stay in a big bed. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas. The breakfast is also very good. Overall, it is very cost-effective.

GGuest UserThis newly built hotel is amazing with elegant antique decoration furnitures & equipped with smart facilities. The location is very convenient, within walking distance to the lively ancient city. Beautifully prepared breakfast was served every morning.
The boss & family are super friendly, nice & provided impeccable service. Giving us thoughtful excursion ideas & recommendations which saved us a lot of time & efforts. We highly recommend this hotel without a doubt & would definitely return again in the future.
