"The Laocheng'en Courtyard Homestay is located within Datong Ancient City and is accessible by car. Parking is easy to find within the alleyways, especially during the off-season. The homestay features a cozy courtyard and living room, and the rooms are tidy. We booked a twin room, which wasn't huge, but the bathroom was very spacious. The main draw for us was the excellent wet/dry separation in the bathroom. There's no elevator, though. The breakfast was well-prepared and satisfying. The staff were all very friendly; on our first day, they even provided tricycles for a spin around the ancient city! Overall, it was a great stay."

"The boss was warm and thoughtful, and the pick-up service was very punctual. He quickly dropped us off on time when we were catching the high-speed train on the way back, and his driving skills were superb. As for the B&B, its location is convenient, the environment is quiet and beautiful, and the facilities are complete and brand new. It is a great experience to rest here. At the same time, the architectural design is strong and simple. There are also quaint buildings nearby, and the B&B is about fifteen to twenty minutes' walk from the city's attractions, which is very convenient. Datong in the Northern Wei Dynasty was once the glorious capital of the Northern Dynasties, the secondary capital of Liao and Jin, and an important military town in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has rich preserved Buddhist cultural relics and can be said to be a capital city through the ages. As for scenic spots, the grottoes, wooden pagodas, the Hanging Temple, Hengshan Mountain, temples in the ancient city and museums are must-sees and worth the trip."
