GGuest UserLocated right in the heart of the ancient city, this hotel is a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The room was spotless and exceptionally well-appointed, featuring premium toiletries, an electric toothbrush, a Dyson hairdryer, and even a smart toilet. The entire courtyard is incredibly charming, offering a true taste of traditional Shanxi architecture. Breakfast in the courtyard was a highlight, and even when it poured rain on the second morning, we enjoyed a unique experience having breakfast under an umbrella. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and approachable; we could even communicate with them easily via WeChat.
My only minor point of feedback is that the duvet felt a bit too thick for summer; we were still quite warm and sweating even with the air conditioning on. However, this might just be a personal preference. Overall, this place is absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Datong who's looking for a unique and memorable accommodation experience.

PPSOCWe were warmly greeted by friendly staff upon arrival, making us feel welcome right away. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and the team went the extra mile to help us register on their app as we are foreigners, ensuring we could easily access Wi-Fi and contact them if needed.
We had called ahead to request a humidifier and air purifier, and were pleased to find them already prepared in our room when we checked in. The room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the inclusion of an electric toilet with a heated seat was a thoughtful touch, especially during the winter season.
Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was genuinely helpful and sincere in their service, always making sure we were well taken care of. We initially planned to stay from 6/12/24 to 8/12/24 but felt so at home that we decided to extend our stay for an additional two days.
A big thank you to the team at Mecure Hotel for their exceptional service and attention to detail. Me and my Husband had agreed this is best hotel in our 17 days China trip. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning in the future. Great job!

JJamesBeautiful new hotel. Very friendly staff who offered two gifts to every room during the national holiday. Room felt spacious and luxurious and was sunny and mostly quiet during a very busy holiday period. Hotel restaurant was also delicious with good service. We ate there twice. We also had breakfast everyday of our stay. Very nice quality including lots of local ingredients and choices was fantastic! The hotel is so conveniently located in the ancient city. Walking distance to a really nice cafe with great coffee, lots of restaurants and all the main attractions including pop up laneway markets selling ancient treasures. Honestly, it’s a fantastic hotel and felt worth the price. Would definitely stay again!

BBuziI had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Hotel in Datong and was genuinely impressed by the level of service and hospitality. The room was modern, spotless, and well-equipped with all the amenities you’d expect from a quality stay — comfortable bedding, fast Wi-Fi, and a clean, spacious bathroom.
What truly stood out, though, was the staff. They went above and beyond by preparing an early breakfast pack for us when we had to check out before the buffet opened — a small gesture that made a big difference. They also safely stored our luggage after checkout, allowing us to explore the city hands-free before heading to the train station.
Overall, the service was efficient, friendly, and thoughtful. If you’re visiting Datong, I highly recommend staying at Hampton — they make traveling easy and comfortable from start to finish.

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is perfect. It is the right place to stay when visiting the Hanging Temple and Jin Temple. The room and bed are large, especially suitable for bringing children. It is no problem for a family of three to stay in a big bed. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas. The breakfast is also very good. Overall, it is very cost-effective.

LLaofu1. I booked a room for two days, but I didn't expect that I needed to cancel one day of accommodation because I neglected to book the Yungang Grottoes tickets in advance. The hotel was very understanding and allowed early check-out, which was very humane.
2. It can be said that the high-rise hotel closest to the ancient city of Datong in the south can indeed see the ancient city wall. It is only about fifteen minutes' walk away, so it is not far.
3. The hotel service is very good. Whether it is hotel supplies or millet porridge for midnight snack, they are all delivered enthusiastically.
4. The ground parking lot is a little crowded, but as for the underground parking lot, it is no problem for small cars, but for a 7-seater commercial vehicle, you need to choose a good location, otherwise it will be difficult to drive out. Parking is still very convenient.
4. The breakfast is very convenient and has local characteristics of Datong.

2205853****I highly recommend the Datong Hotel VIP Building. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service is professional, and its location is convenient for getting around. We booked an Executive View Room, which offered stunning night views of the ancient city. The front desk staff also kindly helped us arrange transportation for our outings, which we truly appreciated.
Initially, we were hesitant to book this hotel due to some negative reviews on Ctrip. However, on our second night, we decided to give it a try, reasoning that it's an established and trustworthy brand. We were absolutely delighted with our stay after checking in!
There were a few minor shortcomings, which I already discussed with the front desk during check-out. I hope the VIP Building continues to improve!
I look forward to my next stay.
The three books provided in the hotel room were incredibly informative. They offered a deeper insight into Datong's rich culture, landscape, customs, cuisine, and beautiful sights, truly enriching my experience after exploring the city.
