Green bricks, wooden structures, plain walls – colors are minimized, and tranquility is maximized. As night falls, another layer of light illuminates the courtyard. A fire-dancing artist moves with a 'fire pot,' a flick of their arms sending golden streams of fire streaking through the silent night. Sparks scatter between the eaves and the green bricks, flickering on and off like the unextinguished heartbeat of the sleeping ancient city. Silence and passion arrive simultaneously in this single courtyard. The room's window is understated. It doesn't rush to display a panoramic view; instead, it draws your eye to the layered rooftops, resembling distant mountains. And at this moment, through the window, the fire's reflection dances on the tea ceremony table. Ji Xia Shan doesn't create scenery. It simply filters out the noise for you, leaving behind the ancient city's true essence – and your true self. Checking in here is truly arriving."

"The hotel was new and the rooms were clean, but the service was terrible! We arrived at the front desk at night, and there were three or four staff members standing there laughing and joking. After I showed my ID, they told me that someone had already checked me in?! It turned out that after a long discussion, they realized it was because a man with the same name as me had booked the same room type, and they gave him the room I had booked in advance (I had noted that I didn't want the last room and wanted it away from the elevator)?! Such a big hotel?! Don't they even check the information when registering guests? The phone numbers are different, and the genders are different too?! While I was standing at the front desk late at night waiting for them to resolve the issue, the receptionist kept yelling about what to do about the man's booking?! Where was I supposed to stand?! She didn't even apologize, and she was yelling at me about the wrong booking!! Am I supposed to fix her problem? Is this how you train your staff for such a big hotel? And this is supposed to be number one on the luxury list? Is this the level of service you're providing? Don't tell me it's because there are too many guests during the Chinese New Year. If you're so busy during the holidays, how could you make a mistake checking guest information? After making me stand for at least ten minutes, they finally gave me a room. They even gave me a last-minute room near the elevator! When I saw this, I called the front desk, and they said, ”Oh, all the rooms you booked are last-minute rooms?” Why didn't you write on the booking page that all City View Suites are last-minute rooms? It felt like the staff didn't know what they were doing; the service was completely disproportionate to the hotel's quality! Oh, and by the way, the laundry room was closed during the New Year period, and they didn't mention this at all when I messaged customer service during booking. 😃 The score is for cleanliness and hotel infrastructure; service is zero."

"I saw a lot of people complaining that Datong hotels couldn't keep up with the service, so I didn't have high expectations. Surprisingly, I found the service to be excellent. There was a genuine, rustic desire to be good to tourists, sometimes a bit overzealous and awkward, but incredibly sincere and charming. Overall, my stay was fantastic, and it offered great value for money. The little details in the room were well done. Toiletries were provided at both the sink and in the shower. Important tips and services were clearly written and prominently displayed in the room. This is the first hotel I've seen that even offers to change to a firmer mattress! The fresh fruit and vegetables delivered daily were so fresh that I felt bad for not eating them and ended up forcing myself to eat two pieces of fruit. You absolutely *must* try the pear soup the hotel delivers in the evenings. On the first night, I was a bit skeptical, thinking, 'Who drinks something so sweet late at night? Why pear soup?' But on the second morning, when I got a nosebleed, I immediately understood... I promptly asked for a bottle and chugged it down; the effect was instant. The hotel's large floor-to-ceiling windows offered a great view, with the ancient city and Drum Tower visible right opposite. If I had to point out any areas for improvement, it would be the lack of a small shelf near the toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom, so there's nowhere to put your phone, which is a bit inconvenient. Also, the air conditioning was very noisy and seemed to stop cooling in the middle of the night. It got to the point where I'd wake up in the late hours and have to turn it off because it was just making noise, which was quite annoying."

"This hotel is grand and truly high-end. The location is excellent, with a large, free parking lot in both the front and back, so parking is never an issue. It's convenient for getting anywhere, with a bus stop right outside the entrance. When I booked on Trip.com, I used my Trip.com points to redeem the room fee, so for a good deal, I stayed in a standard room in Building B. The room facilities were also great, and from the north-facing room, you could see Datong Ancient City. The breakfast was quite good, with a rich variety. My standard room also came with a complimentary bathing pass for the hotel's bathhouse. That day, I walked over 21,000 steps exploring Datong, setting a new personal record for daily steps in recent years. After a full day of sightseeing, it was incredibly relaxing to soak in the hot bath for an hour at the bathhouse. The hotel itself is very, very spacious. Since it was a Sunday, I saw several wedding banquets being held at Jianguo Hotel, as well as birthday parties for children. My only regret was that my standard room in Building B didn't have a mini-fridge, so there was no place to store food I brought back from outside. All in all, it was excellent, and I would definitely consider staying at Datong Yungang Jianguo Hotel again if I have the chance."

"The hotel's breakfast was plentiful, and the interior design and decor were excellent. The complimentary bathhouse tickets allowed my family to shower separately, so we didn't have to wait for each other. The main advantage is the excellent soundproofing in the rooms; during the Dragon Boat Festival, I barely heard any sounds like doors closing from other rooms. Overall, it's great value for money and a very comfortable stay. I'll definitely come back. Just a small suggestion: popular attractions like the Yungang Grottoes open at 7 AM during peak season. If breakfast could start at 6:30 AM during peak season, it would be much more convenient for guests to get an early start."

"This hotel definitely deserves five stars. The rooms are spacious and well-arranged. All the amenities, including the kettle, coffee machine, and even the toiletries, are from well-known brands. The room also features AI voice service, which is very convenient and practical. The entire hotel is exquisitely decorated, with large and luxurious elevators. The hotel isn't far from the ancient city, and there's a Wanda Plaza about 1 kilometer away, making shopping and dining very convenient. The breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious options; it was quite busy during my holiday stay, with most tables full. I booked late and the hotel was fully booked, so I had to wait until the second day to get an available room. It's a highly recommended hotel, and I've already recommended it to many friends."

"I forgot to leave a review before, but even though the facilities aren't top-notch, the environment was quite peaceful. I'm not sure if it was because I requested a quiet room when booking, but our three rooms were on a floor where there were indeed no noisy drunkards or unruly children. Being able to get a good rest makes it a decent hotel. Some hotels, despite having great facilities, have terrible management, which is pointless... Breakfast was average; the lamb offal soup was pretty good, but you can't expect too much from breakfast at this level of hotel. Both service and breakfast were pretty standard, and overall, it wasn't a rip-off."

"Staying at Ruifeng Tower was definitely the best decision for our Datong trip! The hotel is located right in the heart of the ancient city, within walking distance of attractions like Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple, making it super convenient. The rooms have an antique charm, and when you open the window, you're greeted with the sight of traditional courtyards and intricate eaves. What truly delighted me were the books in the room. Reading them before bed, the glory of Pingcheng during the Northern Wei Dynasty and the prosperity of the Liao and Jin secondary capitals came alive on the pages, adding a wonderful cultural depth to our journey. The breakfast buffet was abundant, and the staff were warm and professional. Next time I'm in Datong, I'll definitely choose Ruifeng Tower again, to immerse myself in the unique charm of this ancient capital amidst its scholarly ambiance and historic beauty!"

"Great location, very convenient for transport and close to the commercial center. The service was excellent; the staff member, Xiong Fengqing, noticed medication on my table and proactively brought me chrysanthemum tea bags, along with extra bottled water. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide variety of high-quality options, including local Datong specialties. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong."

"The environment is great and very comfortable. Even though the ancient city was packed during the May Day holiday, this place felt like a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. After exploring, it was so relaxing to come back to the courtyard. The butler service was excellent too. The courtyard's location is perfect, making it easy to get anywhere. The butler mentioned they developed the Southeast Yiborough, and it's definitely worth checking out – every shop there has its own unique charm. The only minor issue was the breakfast; while it looked lovely and was beautifully presented, it wasn't very tasty. The asparagus wasn't blanched, which made it taste a bit odd. I'd still stay here again if I come back to Datong."
