The room was spacious and comfortable, clearly decorated with great care. It's located in a newly built villa complex within the ancient city, spanning three floors from ground to basement. It offers a peaceful retreat while still being close to the central district – just a short walk away. The owner was very welcoming and provided pick-up and drop-off service, which was a warm touch when visiting a new place. Unfortunately, I caught a cold during my stay due to the dry weather and spent half my time resting at the guesthouse. The front desk lady even helped with my laundry, drying it and bringing it back to my room, which was a huge convenience. Plus, ordering takeout was super easy. Overall, it's a highly recommended place for accommodation and relaxation, as it has everything you need. Datong itself has a lot to offer, but unfortunately, due to my health, I only got to see the highlights: the grottoes and the wooden pagoda. It's a shame I couldn't get climbing tickets for the Hanging Temple; I'll definitely visit again next time.

A relaxing, slow-paced trip! The room was spacious and cozy. The front desk ladies were enthusiastic, lively, beautiful, and thoughtful fairies. It was also very convenient for late-night snacks and ordering takeout – the delivery driver provided excellent and thorough service. I'm looking forward to my next stay! The laundry and drying facilities were very convenient. It's right across from Daiwang Mansion, so after exploring from the South Gate, it was super easy to head back for a good night's sleep.

Terrible! I strongly object to secretly leaving positive reviews using a customer's phone. I will definitely leave a positive review if asked, but doing so secretly is going too far. I stayed two nights and placed two separate orders. The first night, I arrived at the hotel at 11 PM, and the door lock wouldn't lock, and the security zipper was missing. The staff tried to fix it, but couldn't. I had to make do for the night without being able to change rooms. The second night, I called to ask for a room change, and they readily agreed and even gave me a gift (two bags of cold noodles and three drinks). My stay was very pleasant. On the third day, when I checked out, the front desk, perhaps afraid of leaving a bad review, asked me to leave a positive review. I said okay, I was in a rush to catch my flight, I'd leave it later. The front desk then said, ”Could you please pull up your Ctrip order so I can check it?” When I handed the phone back, I saw them tap it and return it to me. I realized they had left a positive review. I was in a hurry to get to the airport and didn't have time to leave one. I find this behavior very offensive. Do they treat their customers like dirt? This is the first time I've encountered such an employee among all the Manxin stores nationwide. Shouldn't we improve the quality of our employees?

We took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city of Datong. Although there were few steps of staircase leading to the entrance of the hotel and the reception was on level 2 and our room type was only available on the 3rd level. Upon check in the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo was very helpful and she helped us to carry our luggages to our room at level 3.. There was a small window in our room overseeing the street. The room was spacious and very clean. All corners, fixtures and furnitures in our room were wiped very clean. All amenities were provided inside the room too. The bed mattress and pillow were soft and very comfortable. Body gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash and clothing detergent were all good quality. 2 water bottles, toothbrush, hair comb and slippers were provided in the room. There were space to hang our winter clothing and also washed socks and inner wears. The air-conditioner was superb as it can be adjusted to 4 types of air:normal, wet reduction, cold air and warm air, hence it made our stay more comfortable. There was also an air freshener machine in the room to refresh the air inside the room. So far this is the cleanest hotel room throughout all my China trips. The housekeeper was friendly and ensure the room being cleaned up daily. Overall, I would like to compliment the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo for her hospitality and kindness in helping us when we asked her for any information about Datong and places to eat. Xiao Guo always smilling and her warmness has let us felt very welcomed as a hotel guest. Another compliment was to be given to the housekeeper old lady who really did a great job to ensure the cleanliness of our hotel room and the entire hotel public areas. Highly recommended this hotel to all tourist.

This guesthouse boasts a wonderfully elegant ambiance and a truly superb location. Stepping out, you're right on Gulou East Street, perfect for exploring, and Southeast Yi is just a few minutes' walk away. Despite its bustling street location, the guesthouse's courtyard offers surprising tranquility. We slept soundly through the night and woke up naturally, completely undisturbed. The owner and the housekeeper were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They were always ready to answer any questions, from before our arrival until our departure, and their responses were always very detailed. Every day, the housekeeper would kindly ask us what time we'd like breakfast the next morning, and at the agreed time, she'd even come to our room door to let us know it was ready. I absolutely adored it!!! If I ever visit again, I would definitely choose Yishui Street.

On my trip to Datong, I booked a stay at the Howard Johnson Jindi Plaza Datong, located right by the ancient city, through Trip.com. It's rated 5 stars online, and it truly lives up to the hype! As soon as I checked in, I was upgraded for free to a deluxe business suite. It was my first time seeing a suite with a dining table big enough to host over 10 friends and family. After one night, I switched back to my originally booked business king room. The king room was also incredibly comfortable, measuring a spacious 62 square meters. Opening the curtains revealed views of Datong's streets. If you walk to the end of the corridor, you can even see a panoramic view of the ancient city of Datong. What truly stands out is the fantastic Chinese restaurant at this 5-star hotel. I stayed in Datong for three days, and除了one lunch I had in Hunyuan Ancient City, all my other five lunches and dinners were enjoyed at the hotel's Chinese restaurant. Here, a bowl of Shanxi's specialty knife-cut noodles is only 6 RMB, and a bowl of cold noodles, even tastier than those in Hunyuan, is just 3 RMB. You can order half portions of shumai, and during the first dog days of summer, they even had dumplings. I tried the braised deer tendon with scallions, something I'd never had before, and it was superb, as were the husband and wife lung slices and jellyfish salad – perfect with drinks. Dining here is delicious and affordable. If you top up 200 RMB, you even get a complimentary plate of Shanxi's signature 'guoyourou' (fried pork in sauce). A huge shout-out also goes to the restaurant staff. They are warm, thoughtful, and genuinely care for guests, even advising against ordering too much, ensuring just the right amount! In summary, I give a 5-star rating to both the hotel and the F&B department. The last photo is of the hotel's breakfast, which was also excellent. The hotel has two breakfast restaurants, so even with many guests, it never feels crowded!

This time to Datong, choosing to stay at Shengyajuju is really the wisest decision! From booking to leaving the store, the whole experience is impeccable. Location: The location of the homestay is quiet, it is very convenient to go to the core attractions such as the ancient city wall, Huayan Temple, Kowloon Wall and other attractions, and it is within walking distance. The surrounding life is convenient, but it will not be too noisy, and the rest is very quiet at night. Environmental facilities: I was deeply attracted as soon as I entered the door! The decoration is very distinctive, perfectly integrating classical Chinese aesthetics and modern comfort. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and I lay on it to remove the fatigue of the journey. The facilities are full marks, high-definition projection, first-class quality toiletries, details can feel the owner's intentions everywhere. Warm service: The hospitality of the boss and staff makes people feel at home. The room introduced the play guide and food map, helping to book tickets, and saving a lot of worry. Featured experience: I have to mention the breakfast near his home! The authentic Shanxi characteristics are clean and delicious, and they are full of energy for a day of play. In short, Shengyaju is not only a place to stay, but also a good memory during the trip. Next time I come to Datong, I will definitely stay again and recommend it to all my friends without hesitation!

Traveling from Hangzhou to Datong this time, I stayed at the Yungang Hotel. My first impression after checking in was: Datong hotels are incredibly grand! 😂 When I arrived at night, the fountain at the entrance turned on, the lights lit up, and the whole hotel looked particularly impressive. Inside, it was 'resplendent' all the way through; the lobby and corridors had the feel of an old-school high-star hotel, perfect for casual photos. The room was much larger than I expected, and the bed was very wide. I could spread out my suitcase completely without it getting in the way. The cleanliness was meticulous; the bedding, desk, and bathroom were all very neat. Overall, my stay for several nights was very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious, and the double sinks were very convenient – two people could get ready in the morning without fighting for space. The breakfast is also worth praising. The variety was truly extensive, not just a few random items like some hotel breakfasts. There was a huge spread of fruits, hot dishes, and main courses. Those with decision paralysis would definitely go back for several rounds! 😂 It's especially friendly for tourists; eating a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore means you won't get hungry easily for the whole morning. Overall, it's a place I'd be happy to recommend. The environment is grand enough, the room is spacious and clean enough, and breakfast is abundant. If you care about accommodation comfort when visiting Datong, you can confidently choose Yungang Hotel, especially if you spend your days exploring and want a good rest at night. Next time I come to Datong, it will likely be among my top choices for accommodation.

Extremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!
