"I was so touched! Right after I got off the high-speed train, the inn owner was already waiting for me by the roadside in his car. Since cars can't enter the ancient city gate, the owner switched to an electric scooter and continued to take me to the inn, free of charge. The proprietress helped me carry my luggage to the second floor, which I felt really bad about, but was deeply moved by! I absolutely love the style of this room. After check-in, the proprietress grabbed a map and meticulously explained tips for exploring Pingyao Ancient City and important details to note, making everything very clear. I love Shanxi; I felt such attentive care here. When it was time to leave, the owner offered to drive me to the high-speed train station again. I felt embarrassed and decided to leave early and take a taxi to the station myself, then informed the owner via WeChat. He immediately asked if I had gotten into the car yet, offering to drive me if I hadn't. Oh, I was so moved! I told him I had really gotten into a car and didn't need him to drive, wishing his business prosperity and continued success! For anyone planning a trip to Pingyao Ancient City, choose this place; it's very reliable, you won't go wrong!"

"This guesthouse was a wonderful surprise! It's located right inside Pingyao Ancient City, close to the East Gate, and also near the City God Temple and Confucius Temple. Since cars are banned inside the ancient city, it's very convenient to catch a taxi just outside. The guesthouse itself is tucked away in a narrow alley, giving it a real 'deep courtyard' feel. Once you step inside, it's a whole different world – a truly exquisite and elegant courtyard. Looking up from the open-air patio, you see the bright moon at night and blue skies with white clouds during the day. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. They provided transportation tips in advance, gave us a free paper map of the ancient city, and even recommended key sights, routes, and local specialty dishes and restaurants."

"The location is absolutely fantastic, very close to the city center. When we checked in, they upgraded our room for free, and the owner even helped us with our luggage. When we left, they gave us some handmade vinegar from their shop, and also free outfits and discount vouchers for popular restaurants. It was absolutely wonderful! Since I have relatives in Pingyao, I'll definitely bring them to stay here next time."

What's even better is the hotel's complimentary high-speed train station pick-up and drop-off service – just make sure to communicate and book in advance. They upgraded our room knowing we were traveling with a child, which was a nice touch. As expected from a Jinjiang Hotels property, the room was spotless and the facilities were modern. Plus, a free mini-bar? That's a unique perk for a hotel in this town at this price point. Overall, highly recommended!"

"Extremely satisfied with my stay! We checked in on New Year's Eve, originally planning to stay for just one night, but ended up extending for two more days! The location is great, about 3km from the ancient city, which is perfect if you're driving. There's underfloor heating, which is really important when you're traveling with family. The room was clean and tidy, and the breakfast spread was plentiful! All the staff were very friendly. I was particularly impressed by a tall, slim, handsome guy with glasses in the lobby – he was both professional and dedicated! There were so many guests staying over the New Year period, and yet, every time I saw him during my stay, he was always energetic and greeted us with a smile. To maintain that kind of state under such high-pressure work can only mean he truly loves his job and is dedicated to it! Plus, the surrounding area is residential, and we saw beautiful Shanxi-style hanging lanterns, which was lovely!"

"I've traveled to over thirty cities in the past two years, and this was my first time choosing a guesthouse within an ancient city. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this hotel, located right in the ancient city, had very modern facilities, including central air conditioning, and hot and cold running water. The environment within the ancient city is beautiful, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service. I felt completely at home. They offered shuttle service to and from the high-speed train station and provided all sorts of assistance. I even forgot my glasses during a tour, and one of the staff members ran to bring them to me – it was incredibly touching. The location is also excellent, very close to the bustling South Street."

"Awesome! 👍🏻 We arrived late by high-speed train, and the owner drove directly to the station to pick us up. All the restaurants in the ancient city were closed, so the owner lent us his electric tricycle to go eat outside the city. Riding that little vehicle through the ancient city at night was truly a special experience, haha. As for the room, it had everything we needed, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The large kang bed was quite unique, and even the mouthwash cups were disposable. Since it was the off-season, the owner even upgraded our room. Although the wallpaper was a bit peeling, it didn't affect our stay at all. Moreover, right outside the inn is the owner's own travel photography studio. I'm so glad I didn't book one of those trendy shops recommended online in advance. The photo shoot here was absolutely fantastic 💖. The makeup artist was very gentle and recommended suitable hairstyles and makeup based on my face shape. I loved the photos, and there was absolutely no pressure during the selection process – completely voluntary. A perfect ancient city experience, I'll definitely recommend it to my friends!"

It was constructed in 1838 during the reign of Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty. Currently, it is a county-level cultural heritage site. It was originally the residence of Wang Jin-ting, the manager of the Pingyao Tiancheng Heng Bank’s Hankou branch. Wang Jin-ting (1859–1938), whose full name was Quan Yi and whose courtesy name was Jin-ting, was from the village of Xi Zhang Zhao in Pingyao. In his youth, he worked in the Tiancheng Heng Bank. After the bank’s collapse, he was recommended by Lu Rongting, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, to serve as an assistant manager at the Guangxi Bank. In 1924, Wang Jin-ting purchased the residence at No. 33 Chang Xiang Street in Pingyao’s ancient city, which had originally been a government residence. The courtyard’s floor plan features a pair of phoenixes spreading their wings, with the phoenix facing the grain market and its tail extending over the Helaoxian Bridge, symbolizing vitality and auspiciousness. The courtyard has weathered the passage of time, and with the changes in society, it was acquired by Kang Qian Ji Catering Company in 2025. We uphold the “Deren” principle of the Jin merchants, striving to restore and maintain the original state of the courtyard. The courtyard’s brick carvings of the麒麟 delivering children symbolize the owner’s dedication to preserving the Jin merchant culture and their best wishes for the guests. The wooden carvings of the phoenix and dragon support the pillars, showcasing the courtyard’s grandeur and elegance.
