"Temporary addition of Pingyao Ancient City, a better homestay has been booked. In addition, I was a little worried about the health of the homestay, and finally chose the hotel chain Atour. I heard that it was officially open on May 1st, and we should be the first wave of guests in the room we stayed in. All rooms are on the second floor. The room still has a little smell. Every room is immediately equipped with a purifier. Needless to say, the Atour bedding is all of Atour's planet, very comfortable. Breakfast: The restaurant is small and the dishes are very complete. The quality of the dish is also very good Needless to say, the environment is shown in the picture."

JJiebudiaodejimoThe location is great, nestled between Yingxun Gate (South Gate) and Shangxi Gate, making it convenient for sightseeing yet surprisingly quiet. The facilities are good, but what really impressed me was picture #2 [assuming this refers to a specific feature/amenity shown in a picture]. I hope they can plug in the outlets before guests check in. The buckwheat pillow was very comfortable! The service was excellent; they communicated in advance about pickup/drop-off and even offered to drive me to attractions. Breakfast was abundant, featuring local specialties like Pingyao beef. It was well-balanced and tasty. The menu changed over the two days, though for me, there was a bit too much meat. If a full buffet isn't feasible, perhaps offering an à la carte menu where guests can choose their items would help reduce waste. And the cats at the hotel are adorable!

GGuest UserWe had the best stay at Elswhwere Hotel West Gate. The building is restored it the nicest way really gives you the feeling of timetravel. The people working in the hotel, were carrying and welcoming. They explained us how to navigate the city, helped us buy tickets for the city sights, recommend restaurants and we even got a room upgrade and lovely gifts to take home and remember our time in Pingyao. The bed was so comfortable and we had the best sleep. Can recommend this hotel full heartedly. Would definitely come back! Thank you Helen and Fenny for making our stay so memorable.

The hotel is convenient to go anywhere next to the ancient city. There are snack streets next to various restaurants to eat. The hotel service staff are also good. Everything is in place. HHirao KenI’m honestly speechless! The host upgraded me to a suite without me even asking—it was such an incredible gesture. He speaks enough English to help with anything you need and is genuinely one of the kindest people I've met. Both he and his son even ran out to the street to catch me when they saw I was walking in the wrong direction! They truly have hearts of gold. As for the stay, everything was spotless. The bathroom has a seated toilet and the shower has great pressure and hot water. Even though Pingyao was close to zero degrees, I stayed perfectly warm. Also, this is easily the most exotic and beautiful hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The interior design is just stunning!

GGuest UserWe had such a lovely stay here and truly felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The hotel is owned by a husband and wife, the husband kindly picked us up from the train station and later dropped us back, which made our travel so much easier and stress-free. The wife checked us in warmly and looked after us throughout our stay, always making sure we were comfortable. Her English was very good, and she gave us fantastic recommendations. The homemade breakfast she prepared for us the next morning was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel like guests in their home rather than just customers at a hotel. Their kindness and genuine hospitality really stood out. The room was modern and very clean, and the hotel itself is so picturesque! Staying here made our experience in Pingyao incredibly memorable. We’re very grateful for how well they looked after us and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

GGuest UserThis guesthouse is located right inside Pingyao Ancient City, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city's attractions and enjoying local cuisine. We arrived at Pingyao Ancient City Station by high-speed train, and the guesthouse offered a pickup service from there, which saved us a lot of hassle. The room was clean and tidy, with underfloor heating throughout, as well as an air conditioner. You could walk around barefoot without getting cold. The bed was a large, comfortable 'kang' bed, a local specialty. The building itself is over 300 years old and a protected heritage site, so staying here offers a unique experience and a connection to historical relics. The guesthouse owner was very approachable and friendly. They enthusiastically introduced us to the city's sights, helped us plan our itinerary, and gave us many helpful tips. They also warned us about certain people to avoid in the city – it's always reassuring to have local insights when traveling. We were truly grateful! The recommended dining spots were also affordable and delicious. We look forward to visiting again!

TTigerThe hotel staff provide outstanding customer service, and I especially want to highlight Ana — she is amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful, but my room felt old and was not as clean as it should have been. I was also very disappointed that a western breakfast was not provided. Since I was the only guest in the room, it would only require one portion, and I believe a western breakfast should be included free of charge. I hope the hotel can improve in these areas to better match the excellent service of the staff.

GGuest UserThis trip to Pingyao, I am very honored to choose the glory homestay. Although it is outside the ancient city, it is super convenient to travel. It takes only a minute to walk to the entrance of the ancient city, and it also avoids the trouble of traffic control in the ancient city. The room was clean and warm, the bedding was soft, and I fell asleep as soon as I touched the pillow at night. The owner of the homestay is a retired veteran of 20 years. The service is super enthusiastic. Not only does he help plan the route, but also recommends many small shops that locals often go to. The price is very favorable and only tens of dollars, which is really good value for money. I especially recommend everyone to stay and experience

From the moment I booked and added them on WeChat, they patiently guided me to the parking lot and explained the shuttle service. The attentive service upon arrival was truly impeccable. I stayed for three days, and no matter when I saw them, they always greeted me warmly. They were prompt and patient in resolving any issues. The overall environment is beautiful and boasts an antique charm. P.S. Perhaps because it's so beautiful, there were travel photographers non-stop from morning till night, which slightly affected my rest.
