RRach316I had a truly wonderful stay at this charming courtyard hotel in Pingyao, a perfect 10/10 experience. Although it’s a small property with only about 6–8 rooms, everything about it feels thoughtfully done and beautifully presented. The hotel is newly renovated, with tasteful decorations that blend traditional character with a fresh, comfortable atmosphere. What impressed me the most was the owner. He is incredibly friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful, his service goes far beyond expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt well taken care of, and his sincerity really made the stay special. Location is superb! The room was spotless,  one of the cleanest I’ve experienced. I actually walked around and looked at a few other motels in Pingyao, and I can confidently say this one stands out as the best in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and overall quality. On top of all that, the price is very reasonable for what you get. It’s rare to find a place that offers such great value together with such heartfelt hospitality. Highly, highly recommended ,  I would definitely stay here again.

It was spotlessly clean, and the owner was incredibly thoughtful, even providing disposable toilet seat covers. The floor heating worked wonderfully, keeping us warm throughout the night. It truly felt like a home away from home. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserWe had the best stay at Elswhwere Hotel West Gate. The building is restored it the nicest way really gives you the feeling of timetravel. The people working in the hotel, were carrying and welcoming. They explained us how to navigate the city, helped us buy tickets for the city sights, recommend restaurants and we even got a room upgrade and lovely gifts to take home and remember our time in Pingyao. The bed was so comfortable and we had the best sleep. Can recommend this hotel full heartedly. Would definitely come back! Thank you Helen and Fenny for making our stay so memorable.

Room was well renovated, owner super friendly and very accommodating, we asked for more water, toilet paper, different type of breakfast etc all happy to oblige. 10 minutes walk to light show, 10m walk to center of ancient city where most of the historical sites were. 10m walk to outside where the best food is..DO NOT eat inside the old city, food outside much better. Owner also arranged for car to take us to Wang Family compound and Shuanglian temple at much better price than I could find anywhere online. and private transfer to/from train station as well. Very happy I booked to stay at this location. Breakfast was EXCELLENT

YYuzhouwudidahaitunA fantastic hotel! The owner was incredibly welcoming, the hotel environment was excellent and very clean, and the rooms were spacious. Located near Yamen Street, almost in the heart of the ancient city, it's very convenient for visiting surrounding attractions. When we left, the owner even gave us some of their own vinegar and offered free transportation to the train station – such thoughtful gestures! It's rare to find such a good hotel. If you're planning a trip to Pingyao Ancient City, I highly recommend staying here!

GGuest UserThe location is right in the heart of the ancient city, making it super convenient for dining and sightseeing – everything is just a stone's throw away. I went with my family for New Year's, and the welcome gifts were a thoughtful touch. The courtyard at night is beautiful, exactly as pictured. Our room was very warm with underfloor heating, and it was clean and hygienic. The in-house travel photography service was very professional; the makeup and styling were exquisite, and the photographer was excellent. It added so many wonderful memories to our trip.

AAnonymous UserThe room was very quiet, and the location was excellent, making it incredibly convenient to get around. However, there were a few drawbacks. Only two bottles of mineral water were provided per day, so if you're a tea drinker, you might want to bring extra water with you. When I made the reservation, it stated that a bottle of vinegar would be offered as a complimentary gift. However, upon checkout, it wasn't automatically given, and you had to specifically ask for it. Even then, for a two-day stay, we only received one bottle.

PPanPivoI must highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Pingyao. The hotel is really authentic, well equipped, the room was beautiful and I didn't miss anything during my stay. The owner is very nice and helpful, he was able to help me with everything. The front desk is guarded by a small, beautiful dog who gives you a proper greeting. Everything is a short walk from the hotel yet it is in a quiet area where you won't be disturbed. Not choosing this hotel for my stay would be a big mistake. Thank you very much -‐----------------------- Tento nádherný hotel v historickém centru města Pingyao musím vřele doporučit. Hotel je opravdu autentický, dobře vybavený, pokoj byl krásný a během pobytu mi nic nechybělo. Majitel je velmi milý a ochotný, se vším mi dokázal pomoci. Recepci hlídá malý, krásný pejsek, který vás náležitě přivítá. Vše je kousek od hotelu a přitom je v klidné oblasti, kde vás nebude nikdo rušit. GGuest UserThis guesthouse is located in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City, Shanxi Province, opposite KFC. This is my second time here. I'm a price-sensitive traveler, and this time I didn't spend too much money, but I was surprised by the high quality. They even use Simmons mattresses from Blue Box, and their projector has excellent clarity—it seems to be from Ctrip (a travel website). The toilet is a fully automatic type. Most importantly, it's very convenient for dining and sightseeing. The owner even recommended several popular restaurants that offer discounts—you can actually get a discount by showing your room card when you pay! The guesthouse breakfast is also good, and they even offer a shuttle service. I'll definitely come back to this guesthouse again. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserA very unique courtyard B&B inn. The rooms are clean, tidy and antique. The inn is located on the West Street of the Old City. It is right on the pedestrian street. It is very close to the Rishengchang Bank and the county government. The boss is very enthusiastic and the service is very good. I will give you a tip in advance. We sent location navigation and helped us pick up and drop off our luggage from the parking lot 🅿️. They introduced the ancient city travel suggestions in detail and arranged an ancient city guide for us to have an in-depth understanding of Pingyao’s historical and cultural heritage. It was great [strong][strong ] [Strong] When checking out, the boss also gave me a souvenir from the ancient city - aged vinegar, which is very nice and worth recommending [Strong] [Strong] [Strong]
