Stayed at Heping Mansion for 2 days, the experience was very good, full of emotional value
There are not a few tourists traveling to Pingyao in the off-season. Before arriving at the ancient city, contact the boss to arrange for pick-up outside the city gate. Such services are rare.
The decoration of the guild hall is very Shanxi Merchants Guild Hall style, the level is quite high, the off-season room price is very nice, the room is also quite large, the sanitary conditions are also good, the shower spray can be improved, the water is a little small.
The boss's service attitude and enthusiasm really made me deeply understand why Shanxi merchants can succeed. Guests staying in the hotel will get a map of the ancient city tour guide introduced by the boss himself. He will answer any questions, and he is humorous. Jinzhai is really super super super awesome đđ»The housekeepers and staff in the house are very enthusiastic, patient and gentle! It gives people a feeling of being at home. The house is very large and antique with 14 rooms. The children have a lot of fun playing in the yard outside the room. The small suite we stayed in was suitable for 2 adults and 2 children, and they all slept very comfortably. There are simple Chinese and Western breakfasts to order, as well as homemade bread and jam, which taste great! There are many people in Pingyao Ancient City, and Jinzhai is the place where we have the best experience in these two days. And the photos are very good~ I will stay here again if I have the opportunity to come to Pingyao again in the future. The children are reluctant to leave... I recommend everyone to feel the charm of Jinzhaiđ„°

If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic.
It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city.
With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel.
Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time.
I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite.
All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

This hotel is very nice, very quiet and very well situated in the old city. We had a very pleasant and good night. And the best is still the personnel/owners that are very helpful and kind. Thank to them we have been able to retrieve a bag that we forgot in then train ! Also there are traditional costume to make very nice pictures and they offer nice gifts. Everythingâs just perfect here.

I personally experienced the ancient residences of Shanxi merchants in the ancient city of Pingyao. The courtyards I entered several times are classic and elegant. If it weren't for the cold winter, I could have taken pictures, drank tea, and played in the courtyard. You are not allowed to drive into the ancient city, so the boss sent someone to pick you up and dropped you off, and also gave you old vinegar as a souvenir. The breakfast is also good, tastes good, and youâll have to wait until youâre full, ha! But I would also like to give some suggestions to the boss. The overall hygiene of the room is okay at first glance, but it needs to be improved upon closer inspection. Then there are not enough places to hang clothes to dry, but what I like is that the B&B provides disposable bath towels and towels. good.

You can't drive into the ancient city, firstly because there are too many people, and secondly because the ancient city is full of small roads. When you arrive at Xiaonanmen, the hotel will send a sightseeing bus to pick you up, and you will be sent to Xiaonanmen after you check out. The front desk service is very enthusiastic, and basic needs can be met. For a small county town, Pingyao Xinghuiguan is a very large hotel. We booked a duplex family room with a large platform. The children added a quilt and rolled on it very happily. The front desk gave them handmade vinegar before leaving.

Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it
And it does feel and look like a traditional house.
You feel you are going back in time.
Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs.
He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city.
Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions.
Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him.
Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm.
On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour.
Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class.
The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved
The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk.
The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

LLeighBeJamminMy children (18/16 yo) stayed at Pingyuan Mansion for two nights. Our taxi from the Pingyao railway dropped us at the South Gate of the city wall. He called the hotel, who sent a trolley to pick up as they were not allowed inside the city wall. It has two lovely courtyards. Our room had automations everything. Breakfast was amazing for those who like of varieties of small dishes. The staff made arrangements to drop us off the railway. It is only a few alleys away from the excitements of street vendors, music, sit down restaurants and shops. You wonât be disappointed staying with them. Truly an authentic Pingyao stay.

Easy to locate and the lady in the reception is friendly and helpful. The public areas are clean and well tended to and needless to say very instagramable. If you had visited the Wang or Qiao family compound, this hotel will let you experience living in one of those courtyard chambers. The room combines old and modern touches with a modern toilet and comfortable old styled bed. Strong heating and a strong hot shower ensures you feel comfortable during the colder months. Great feeling that your hotel is right in the middle of the ancient city after tiring day of walking. The complimentary transfer to the train station and vinegar gift upon check out is a nice touch. You won't regret staying here.

GGuest UserThe owner of the B&B is very, very nice! When I arrived, he received me very warmly, gave me water, helped me plan the route to the scenic spots, recommended restaurants, and gave me coupons. I also bought cheaper tickets for âSee Pingyao Againâ through the owner. I wanted to go to Wang's Courtyard and arranged a car. The owner has always been very caring, really considerate, and a very sincere person!
The courtyard environment is very beautiful and unique. I took a lot of photos, which are very good. The room is clean and hygienic, with everything it should have, and it is very quiet. The location of the B&B is very close to the scenic spots, and it can be walked for a few minutes.
Originally planned to stay only one night, but the overall experience was so good that I decided to stay another night. Because of special reasons, I upgraded my room on the first night.
I strongly recommend everyone to come to Pingyao to experience the enthusiasm of Shanxi, and I will definitely come again if I have the chance in the future!

In reception they do not speak English, but they were very helpful with the translator. However, if you really need to rest, this hotel is not made for you. At 7am there were already families and kids shouting and playing in the patio. Even with taps, it was too noisy to keep sleeping. The hotel is also offering folkloric dressing and photos shoots, so you might find people take pictures in front of your room anytime, also at night with flashes

EEduardo J. RamosLovely hotel right in the heart of the walled city. Be aware entrance is trough a hairdresser. Spacious and modern rooms, very clean and traditional.
Before you visit be advised, taxis cannot enter walled town therefore cannot reach the hotel. Ask taxi driver to drop you off at the East gate of the walls and from there take the golf cart like vehicles (only taxi service allowed within the walled area) to reach the hotel. If you speak mandarin you may be able to get the service for free from the hotel, couldn't get it before check in but they kindly drove me to the East Gate for free when I left. Closest gate to the hotel is the South but has no vehicular access, if carrying luggage, always use East Gate.
