"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel in Pingyao. The location, right inside the old city walls, was perfect for exploring the ancient town on foot and it was very quiet in the evening, ideal for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and nicely heated, which was especially important given the cold temperatures outside. A special mention goes to the owner and his wife for the excellent pick-up service from the train station, which made my arrival smooth and stress-free."

CCecile1986The hotel is really nice and in the authentic style of Pingyao. It is quite closed from the east gate and from the ancient city center. The owner is really friendly, speaks good English and is doing everything to make you enjoy your stay. He did explained very well all the activity and provide help if needed. The room is clean and we didn't care about the size as we were out all day. If I have to suggest one thing, it will be to have bigger mattresses as they are quite hard but it's a personal preference.

KK Hoffman (Canada)Fantastic ancient Chinese lodging with modern amenities. You get the chance to sleep on a Luohan bed. The room is a suite! Within Pingyao walled city, it was easy to go to visit the sites. The lady owner gave me a map. Even though I speak no Chinese and they speak no English, we were able to communicate using a translator app. She recommended a restaurant when I asked. They made the utmost effort to make your stay enjoyable. The owner took me to the railway station when I left. P.S. Best to download MAPS.ME as it will work offline. Google Maps does not work in China. The taxi will drop you outside the city wall and you can ride the shuttle to the hotel. Make sure you got the Chinese address. Also same possible, install the Wechat app as it is used widely in China - you text in English they translate to Chinese and vice versa.

GGuest UserThe hotel is beautiful, specially the patios. The location is just 10 minutas walking from the North Gate of the wall. In reception they do not speak English, but they were very helpful with the translator. However, if you really need to rest, this hotel is not made for you. At 7am there were already families and kids shouting and playing in the patio. Even with taps, it was too noisy to keep sleeping. The hotel is also offering folkloric dressing and photos shoots, so you might find people take pictures in front of your room anytime, also at night with flashes
