"If you want an authentic traditional vibe but still appreciate modern convenience, this hotel is the perfect choice. The staff picked us up and dropped us off by buggy at the main gate, which made everything effortless. The host was incredibly helpful and explained the best way to explore Pingyao Ancient Town. The hotel has a beautiful traditional courtyard style, but the rooms are fully modern—well-sealed windows, a big projector screen, an automated toilet, super clean linens, and a very comfortable mattress. A cold wave hit during our stay, and the host even provided an extra heater to keep us warm, which we really appreciated. We’re so glad we found this place and highly recommend it with confidence."

"The hotel is located in a beautiful restored traditional house on the very center of Pingyao. The room was clean, comfortable, and everything worked as expected. The hotel offered a few complimentary services too, such as a fish spa and a traditional Chinese costume, which made our stay a little more fun. The staff was kind and helpful.We highly recommend the Elsewhere hotel!"

"I chose this place because it's a hundred-year-old historic house, and I wasn't disappointed! The building is truly beautiful, full of rich historical charm. The hotel offers a shuttle service, and during check-in, they gave clear and comprehensive explanations of the main attractions. Some of the in-room facilities are a bit old, especially the bathroom, and there's a slight 'old house' smell. However, the courtyard is absolutely stunning! As a parting gift, they gave us some aged vinegar. The owner's sincerity really shines through. I'd recommend it!"

"The hotel is located just within the old town after the north gate. The hotel is well decorated with a beautiful garden. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The hotel staff are superb friendly and helpful. In one of the nights in 平遥古城, I had left a shop without my haversack after my meal at the old town. I only recalled about my haversack when I returned to the hotel. Immediately, I reported the incident to the hotel staff. Without hesitation, the hotel staff 小武 brought me back to the said shop with his own bike in a cold weather. Although we managed to locate the shop, however, it had already closed for business and there was no people in the shop. It was nearly midnight at that time . Even though i didn’t manage to recover my haversack (cuz i needed to leave the town to another destination early in that morning), I sincerely appreciate 小武 for helping me to find my haversack. He also suggested to me to lodge a Police report so that my lost item could be recovered by mailing it back to my hometown. It was a good idea but I didn’t do it cuz the belongings in the bag were not valuable and nothing important. Once again , I really want to thank 小武 for his patience and service rendered to me. "The service was excellent! The airport pick-up and drop-off were seamlessly handled. The owner even gave us a huge bottle of vinegar as a farewell gift. Breakfast was provided daily and was light and healthy. The facilities are comprehensive – this is not a fake review! The owner is incredibly kind and enthusiastic, giving us a great introduction to Pingyao Ancient City. You can book tickets directly with the owner, which is so convenient and saves you the hassle of using various platforms!"

"A very cost-effective homestay. We came from Hebei and stayed at a homestay all the way. This one is called No1, the king of cost-effectiveness. You can rent the entire small courtyard for a few hundred dollars. The environment is beautiful, the decoration is exquisite, and the main sanitation is not inferior to star hotels. If friends come to Pingyao, I will definitely recommend this homestay. If we pass by here in the future, we will also come to live again. It is definitely 5 stars recommended! , Not a trust, real experience!"

"Traveling to Pingyao with my child for two days, the owner kindly upgraded our room. I was most impressed with the 'Little Yellow Duck' family room, located in the courtyard under the bright wall. It completely dispelled my concerns about the inconvenience of staying in the ancient city with a child. The guesthouse's exterior is an authentic Jin-style courtyard, perfect for photos, and the courtyard itself is quiet and peaceful. After a tiring day of sightseeing, returning to the guesthouse to rest was incredibly relaxing. Inside the room, however, it was filled with playful, child-friendly designs. There was a complete 'Little Yellow Duck' themed soft furnishing set, including a small tent, plush toys, children's non-slip slippers, and dedicated toiletries. My child didn't want to leave after entering the room and kept talking about the 'Little Yellow Duck.' The hygiene details were excellent, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. They offered luggage pickup and drop-off at the station, patiently planned an easy route for traveling with kids, and even thoughtfully advised on times to avoid crowds. There was no excessive upselling throughout, making the interaction very comfortable. It perfectly combined an immersive experience of Pingyao Ancient City's charm with catering to my child's playful spirit. Both comfort and ambiance were excellent. If I plan another trip to Pingyao, I'll definitely book this 'Little Yellow Duck' family room again. Highly recommended for all families."
