GGuest UserThis guesthouse was a wonderful surprise! It's located right inside Pingyao Ancient City, close to the East Gate, and also near the City God Temple and Confucius Temple. Since cars are banned inside the ancient city, it's very convenient to catch a taxi just outside. The guesthouse itself is tucked away in a narrow alley, giving it a real 'deep courtyard' feel. Once you step inside, it's a whole different world – a truly exquisite and elegant courtyard. Looking up from the open-air patio, you see the bright moon at night and blue skies with white clouds during the day. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. They provided transportation tips in advance, gave us a free paper map of the ancient city, and even recommended key sights, routes, and local specialty dishes and restaurants.

GGuest UserWe had the best stay at Elswhwere Hotel West Gate. The building is restored it the nicest way really gives you the feeling of timetravel. The people working in the hotel, were carrying and welcoming. They explained us how to navigate the city, helped us buy tickets for the city sights, recommend restaurants and we even got a room upgrade and lovely gifts to take home and remember our time in Pingyao. The bed was so comfortable and we had the best sleep. Can recommend this hotel full heartedly. Would definitely come back! Thank you Helen and Fenny for making our stay so memorable.

JJanelle SomoanoWe had a wonderful stay. The employee who checked us in was very friendly and gave us many great local recommendations of where to visit and where to eat! The hotel was very unique and beautiful with so much history. The staff also scheduled complementary pickup and drop off to the train station which was very convenient for our arrival and departure.

AAnonymous UserVery clean and spacious room. The hosts were very helpful and super friendly. We enjoyed our stay a lot and felt very comfortable at the hotel. We were even provided with some fruits at our arrival and some snacks for our journey on the day we left. It was also possible to wash our clothes. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Pingyao at Delian Homestay.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located just within the old town after the north gate. The hotel is well decorated with a beautiful garden. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The hotel staff are superb friendly and helpful. In one of the nights in 平遥古城, I had left a shop without my haversack after my meal at the old town. I only recalled about my haversack when I returned to the hotel. Immediately, I reported the incident to the hotel staff. Without hesitation, the hotel staff 小武 brought me back to the said shop with his own bike in a cold weather. Although we managed to locate the shop, however, it had already closed for business and there was no people in the shop. It was nearly midnight at that time . Even though i didn’t manage to recover my haversack (cuz i needed to leave the town to another destination early in that morning), I sincerely appreciate 小武 for helping me to find my haversack. He also suggested to me to lodge a Police report so that my lost item could be recovered by mailing it back to my hometown. It was a good idea but I didn’t do it cuz the belongings in the bag were not valuable and nothing important. Once again , I really want to thank 小武 for his patience and service rendered to me. Cheers! 👍

TTanluzheWsI am from Shanxi, and this time I went home to bring my father-in-law, mother-in-law and relatives from other places to visit. The boss is a local and very nice. It is his own inn, and the photos taken are very good, which can fully satisfy everyone's fantasy about Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. Great 👍. The first photo is inside the inn.

HHirao KenI’m honestly speechless! The host upgraded me to a suite without me even asking—it was such an incredible gesture. He speaks enough English to help with anything you need and is genuinely one of the kindest people I've met. Both he and his son even ran out to the street to catch me when they saw I was walking in the wrong direction! They truly have hearts of gold. As for the stay, everything was spotless. The bathroom has a seated toilet and the shower has great pressure and hot water. Even though Pingyao was close to zero degrees, I stayed perfectly warm. Also, this is easily the most exotic and beautiful hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The interior design is just stunning!

GGuest UserThe first thing is to make sure you are going to the correct location for this hotel. On maps, two different locations will show up for 'Delian' so confirm with the hotel that you are going to the correct place. Hotel is in a beautiful historic building that has been renovated and converted. Rooms are modern and tasteful, but I was hoping for a bit more of a decor that would befit the location within the ancient town. Being within the walls of the ancient town, near one of the main streets through town, the location is very good in regards to seeing the sites. One of the nice things about Pingyao is the abundance of friendly cats that you will meet as you stroll the main streets. They seem to be strays that local shopkeepers help take care of. The breakfast at Delian was interesting. They obviously have a deal with a small restaurant across the street from the hotel and you have a limited choice of menu items from which you can choose. This was all Chinese-type breakfast, and everything we had was simple, yet good. The woman that worked at the front desk was very helpful and gave us her WeChat so that we could message her at any time with any questions we had.

GGuest UserThis trip to Pingyao, I am very honored to choose the glory homestay. Although it is outside the ancient city, it is super convenient to travel. It takes only a minute to walk to the entrance of the ancient city, and it also avoids the trouble of traffic control in the ancient city. The room was clean and warm, the bedding was soft, and I fell asleep as soon as I touched the pillow at night. The owner of the homestay is a retired veteran of 20 years. The service is super enthusiastic. Not only does he help plan the route, but also recommends many small shops that locals often go to. The price is very favorable and only tens of dollars, which is really good value for money. I especially recommend everyone to stay and experience

GGuest UserPingyao Yundingxuan truly exceeded our expectations! This ancient courtyard, a former Shanxi merchant's residence, has an incredible atmosphere, perfect for amazing photos. The location is superb, right on West Street in the heart of the old town, within walking distance of 'Impression Pingyao' and all major attractions – super convenient for sightseeing and dining. The hotel offers free pickup and drop-off at the city gate, helps with luggage, and provides thoughtful and attentive service. They patiently explained sightseeing routes and even assisted with discounted bookings for 'Impression Pingyao' tickets, saving us time and effort. The rooms are clean and tidy, with soft and comfortable bedding. The courtyard is quiet and tranquil, making it a very reassuring stay for both elderly guests and children. The amenities are comprehensive, and the breakfast is authentic. It offers incredible value for money. It's definitely the top choice for family trips to Pingyao. Highly recommended; we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Pingyao.
