Opened in 2024, the Pingyao dust outside boutique guest house offers travelers a pleasant stay in Pingyao County, whether for business or leisure purposes. The hotel is only 4km from Pingyao Railway Station and 47km from Taiyuan Yaocheng Airport, giving guests a number of convenient transportation options. With Chenghuang Temple, Temple of God of Fire and Ming and Qing Dynasty Ancient Street all within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. Our guests consider this hotel to have excellent service. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.
"Very nice B&B. Hygiene: clean and tidy,
Facilities: Brand new and easy to use, the kang and bedding are comfortable to live in
Environment: Comfortable and quiet, there are also swings, which children especially like. Although it's not on South Street, it's not far from the attractions. The ancient city is full of small alleys, so it's quick to get dressed.
Service: Warm and enthusiastic, free pick-up from the high-speed rail station. In order for passengers to travel with luggage without burden, they also sent my luggage to me for free in the scenic area."

GGuest UserWe had the best stay at Elswhwere Hotel West Gate. The building is restored it the nicest way really gives you the feeling of timetravel. The people working in the hotel, were carrying and welcoming. They explained us how to navigate the city, helped us buy tickets for the city sights, recommend restaurants and we even got a room upgrade and lovely gifts to take home and remember our time in Pingyao.
The bed was so comfortable and we had the best sleep. Can recommend this hotel full heartedly. Would definitely come back! Thank you Helen and Fenny for making our stay so memorable.

JJiebudiaodejimoThe location is great, nestled between Yingxun Gate (South Gate) and Shangxi Gate, making it convenient for sightseeing yet surprisingly quiet. The facilities are good, but what really impressed me was picture #2 [assuming this refers to a specific feature/amenity shown in a picture]. I hope they can plug in the outlets before guests check in. The buckwheat pillow was very comfortable! The service was excellent; they communicated in advance about pickup/drop-off and even offered to drive me to attractions. Breakfast was abundant, featuring local specialties like Pingyao beef. It was well-balanced and tasty. The menu changed over the two days, though for me, there was a bit too much meat. If a full buffet isn't feasible, perhaps offering an à la carte menu where guests can choose their items would help reduce waste. And the cats at the hotel are adorable!

TTigerThe hotel staff provide outstanding customer service, and I especially want to highlight Ana — she is amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful, but my room felt old and was not as clean as it should have been. I was also very disappointed that a western breakfast was not provided. Since I was the only guest in the room, it would only require one portion, and I believe a western breakfast should be included free of charge. I hope the hotel can improve in these areas to better match the excellent service of the staff.

GGuest UserWe stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property.
Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it
And it does feel and look like a traditional house.
You feel you are going back in time.
Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs.
He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city.
Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions.
Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him.
Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm.
On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour.
Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class.
The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved
The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk.
The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

GGuest UserThe location is right in the heart of the ancient city, making it super convenient for dining and sightseeing – everything is just a stone's throw away. I went with my family for New Year's, and the welcome gifts were a thoughtful touch. The courtyard at night is beautiful, exactly as pictured. Our room was very warm with underfloor heating, and it was clean and hygienic. The in-house travel photography service was very professional; the makeup and styling were exquisite, and the photographer was excellent. It added so many wonderful memories to our trip.

AAnonymous UserThe room was very quiet, and the location was excellent, making it incredibly convenient to get around. However, there were a few drawbacks. Only two bottles of mineral water were provided per day, so if you're a tea drinker, you might want to bring extra water with you. When I made the reservation, it stated that a bottle of vinegar would be offered as a complimentary gift. However, upon checkout, it wasn't automatically given, and you had to specifically ask for it. Even then, for a two-day stay, we only received one bottle.

GGuest UserThe hotel reception staff, both the young men and women, were incredibly nice. From the moment I booked and added them on WeChat, they patiently guided me to the parking lot and explained the shuttle service. The attentive service upon arrival was truly impeccable. I stayed for three days, and no matter when I saw them, they always greeted me warmly. They were prompt and patient in resolving any issues. The overall environment is beautiful and boasts an antique charm. P.S. Perhaps because it's so beautiful, there were travel photographers non-stop from morning till night, which slightly affected my rest.

PPanPivoI must highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Pingyao. The hotel is really authentic, well equipped, the room was beautiful and I didn't miss anything during my stay. The owner is very nice and helpful, he was able to help me with everything. The front desk is guarded by a small, beautiful dog who gives you a proper greeting. Everything is a short walk from the hotel yet it is in a quiet area where you won't be disturbed. Not choosing this hotel for my stay would be a big mistake. Thank you very much

Tento nádherný hotel v historickém centru města Pingyao musím vřele doporučit. Hotel je opravdu autentický, dobře vybavený, pokoj byl krásný a během pobytu mi nic nechybělo. Majitel je velmi milý a ochotný, se vším mi dokázal pomoci. Recepci hlídá malý, krásný pejsek, který vás náležitě přivítá. Vše je kousek od hotelu a přitom je v klidné oblasti, kde vás nebude nikdo rušit. Nevybrat si tento hotel pro svůj pobyt by byla velká chyba. Moc děkuji

FfokuhilaThe service was excellent, and it felt like home! Although the design is over a decade old, the equipment is still in great condition! You can tell they've paid a lot of attention to detail. This was my favorite hotel on my entire trip to Shanxi, and I'd definitely choose this hotel again if I had the chance to come back. 😍 The housekeeper was also incredibly nice, A+++

GGuest UserA very unique courtyard B&B inn. The rooms are clean, tidy and antique. The inn is located on the West Street of the Old City. It is right on the pedestrian street. It is very close to the Rishengchang Bank and the county government. The boss is very enthusiastic and the service is very good. I will give you a tip in advance. We sent location navigation and helped us pick up and drop off our luggage from the parking lot 🅿️. They introduced the ancient city travel suggestions in detail and arranged an ancient city guide for us to have an in-depth understanding of Pingyao’s historical and cultural heritage. It was great [strong][strong ] [Strong] When checking out, the boss also gave me a souvenir from the ancient city - aged vinegar, which is very nice and worth recommending [Strong] [Strong] [Strong]
