Family Hotels in Beijing

I was very satisfied with the room; it was clean and tidy. Before staying, I was worried that a siheyuan (courtyard house) might be old or that the room might have an odor. But after checking in, none of those concerns materialized. It was also very quiet. All my worries before checking in were unnecessary. Even before I walked into the hotel, a young man came out to help me with my luggage. If I have the chance to visit Beijing again, I'd definitely stay in a siheyuan here again. The complimentary travel photoshoot provided by the hotel was also excellent. The photographer was very gentle and patient, and his photography skills were top-notch! I was very happy with the final photos; he's the most satisfying photographer I've encountered recently!

On my holiday trip to Beijing, I booked this hotel because I had a flight in the evening. It's close to the subway, which makes getting to the airport super convenient. The hotel lobby and the room's interior environment are both fantastic, and the front desk staff are all very friendly and helpful. This hotel generally allows for early check-in and late check-out. I slept until noon, then took my time checking out, without having to rush out by 12 PM. Plus, the bed in the room is huge and very comfortable. Awesome~ Awesome~

The moment I stepped into the hotel, I felt great; a new renovation really makes a difference. The facilities and layout are very well-designed, and there's even a garment steamer. The slippers also look to be of good quality. The mineral water comes in cans. However, during our stay on the 10th floor, the water pressure was very low, and there was hair in the bathroom that hadn't been cleaned, which was a real letdown. The view of Universal Studios was spoiled by a large board. Although we didn't get to experience the starlit pool and rooftop bar, they looked promising. Now, a complaint about the hotel's shuttle bus service. I suspect it's a partnership with an external company because the tour guide's marketing pitch was incredibly pushy. They started by creating anxiety, claiming you'd waste time getting lost if you went on your own, and that you'd get soaked at the water park. They tried to sell us park tour services, raincoats, and even magic wands – a real multi-pronged approach. Later, during the hotel's follow-up call, after I mentioned the bathroom issue, they offered a room upgrade for a future stay. But who knows when that 'next time' will be? It felt insincere.

The location and cleanliness are wonderful. Right next to the ”Champs Elysees” of Beijing. May I kindly suggest to add a fee to continue proposing the collecting and cleaning which is displayed on the hotel website? It is confusing for guests to see a service proposed and not performed. See hotel website and joint pic of sign to hang on door in Chinese , didn't take a pic of the basket. Also if the receptionist asks you to bring down your dirty laundry basket (placed in the room) to the lobby, it can be perceived as gross by clients as you do not bring dirty clothes in a hotel lobby. Such things are not done and not to be suggested by the receptionist. Finally, most guests on holiday are happy to pay and have laundry done. It is a service we had in other hotels in China free or paid. 2 machines and 2 driers for so many rooms is not enough. Visiting all day(Beijing is huge) and staying up to 1.30 am doing laundry in a queue is tough during holidays. This needs to be corrected or crossed out on the hotel website so clients know beforehand. Overall positive though.

The hotel is located in a hutong (alley) in Dongsi Sitiao, offering an authentic and tranquil Beijing hutong experience. You can easily go for a city walk, and the nearby Dongsi West Street and Longfusi commercial area provide a plethora of dining options. Subway Lines 5 and 6 are conveniently located in the Longfusi commercial area, about a ten-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel itself has well-equipped facilities, including a laundry room and a mini-gym, and the service is quite attentive. These are the hotel's advantages. On the more average side, the rooms are quite small, and both the bathroom and shower are separate and very compact. Given its location within the Second Ring Road hutongs and being a renovated old residence, this is understandable. However, some of the hotel's policies felt a bit stingy. During the National Day holiday, I booked four consecutive nights at over 1,000 RMB per night, but the minibar and afternoon tea were only complimentary on the first day and not for the following three. This feels unfair to guests staying for multiple nights. Therefore, I would recommend this hotel for those who want to experience Beijing's hutongs, but perhaps only for one night. For longer stays, there are other hotels and guesthouses with better service.

At ~RMB600 per night, including breakfast, during the low season, this 5 star hotel offers excellent value for money. **The good points:** - The shuttle bus driver was very polite and helpful, and assisted us with our luggage. - The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. - The room was very clean, with high ceilings that made it feel spacious. **The biggest disappointment was definitely the breakfast.** We paid an extra RMB 100 per person to have breakfast included, but honestly, it was one of the worst breakfasts I have ever experienced at a five-star hotel. The fried eggs were all prepared in advance and left out on display, and for some reason, they were placed on top of slices of bread. The drinks were not refilled for over an hour, even after they had run out. Nobody came to clear our used plates, so by the end of breakfast, our table was completely covered with plates and glasses. Meanwhile, the staff were just standing nearby chatting with each other. And overall, the food does not taste good. **Another issue was the air conditioning.** The room felt rather stuffy, and the air conditioning was not powerful enough. I had already set it to the lowest temperature (16°C) and the highest fan speed, but the room temperature displayed remained at 22°C throughout our stay. In reality, it felt even warmer than that. On the positive side, the windows could be opened to let in some fresh air. However, doing so meant having to put up with considerable noise from passing cars and aircraft. Overall, the hotel offers great value for money during the low season, especially considering the room quality and friendly front desk service. However, the breakfast experience was far below what I would expect from a five-star hotel.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. After my late flight, which landed around midnight, it was wonderful to arrive at the hotel and have a comfortable and beautiful room where I could relax. The room itself was very nice, the breakfast was delicious, and all of the staff I encountered were very friendly and welcoming. However, I would like to share some organizational issues that I found particularly challenging as an international guest from Germany. First, I think it is difficult to expect international guests to have a Chinese telephone number. I was therefore unable to contact the hotel easily using my German phone number or my Chinese eSIM. It would be very helpful if international guests could be given an alternative way of contacting the hotel, for example via WeChat or, even better for many international travelers, WhatsApp. A simple link or QR code provided before arrival would already make a big difference. The second and more important issue was the Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, I was unable to properly connect to the hotel Wi-Fi in my room, because after several attempts I never received any SMS. I needed to take care of some organizational matters for my onward journey, and I therefore had to rely entirely on my mobile data. While the mobile connection worked reasonably well in the lobby, it was partly slow in my room. I tried to contact the reception by phone, but I was admittedly a little overwhelmed by the hotel telephone and apparently pressed the wrong buttons. There are certainly people who are much more technically capable than I am, I have other strengths! When I subsequently asked at reception about alternative ways to access the Wi-Fi, I was given a password, but unfortunately the connection was still too slow to be useful, so I continued having to use my mobile data for everything. Fortunately, I had already purchased an eSIM mobile data package for China. However, I can imagine this becoming a very serious issue for international travelers who may need reliable internet access before or after a flight, whether for travel arrangements, boarding passes, transportation, communication, or other organizational matters. For this reason, I would strongly recommend looking into both the Wi-Fi situation and the communication options for international guests. If these issues remain unresolved, then, despite the many positive aspects of my stay, I would unfortunately have difficulty recommending the hotel to international travelers, simply because reliable communication and internet access are particularly important for guests traveling internationally.

I've stayed at Ascott many times, and it's consistently excellent in all aspects. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and the amenities like the fridge and washing machine are all fully equipped. The environment is also very quiet; you barely hear any noise. It's super convenient for dining and drinks, with plenty of restaurants nearby. There's also Xiao Taihou Park close by, and it's not far from the subway station – about a 10-minute scooter ride.

I had a very relaxing vacation at this resort, and the overall experience truly exceeded my expectations. The check-in process was smooth, and the room felt comfortable from the moment I stepped in. The cleanliness was impeccable, the bedding was clean and cozy, and all the facilities were well-maintained, making for a great stay. The resort offers a wide variety of activities, perfect for both adults looking to relax and children wanting to play. There's never a dull moment throughout the day, with dining, entertainment, and activities all conveniently arranged in one place. I especially want to commend Suna's service. Whenever I had any questions or requests, she responded promptly. She was meticulous and patient, always considering things from the guest's perspective and handling issues efficiently and effectively. Her friendly and professional attitude made me feel very much at ease. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire vacation. The experience across the board was excellent, offering great value for money. It's highly recommended for family trips or friends traveling together. I've already recommended it to my friends and family who are planning trips, and I'll definitely be back when I have the chance.

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel kindly allowed us to check in early without any waiting, which was greatly appreciated after a long journey and gave us the chance to rest immediately. The room was simple, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A great choice for travelers looking for convenience, cleanliness, and friendly service.
