Pros: 1. The hotel is nestled halfway up the mountain, offering fresh air and truly beautiful surroundings. It's a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, and the hotel's decor and maintenance are quite good. Our butler, Bella, was incredibly meticulous and thoughtful, taking care of every little detail. She met all our needs, making our stay exceptionally comfortable. 2. There's a wide array of facilities and activities, including a mountainside hot spring, indoor pool, Hatha yoga, singing bowl therapy, a gym, and a kids' club. It's perfect for families, and the kids' club is large and newly renovated – it just reopened in May. It's definitely more fun than the kids' clubs at other hotels I've visited. Plus, children aged 4 and up can be supervised for free, which made my little one super happy! 3. The room key card came with a park map, showing hiking trails. There's an easy 5-kilometer mountain boardwalk, perfect for families, where you can visit the Eight Planets viewing platforms. 4. The breakfast was impressive! They had steaks, lamb chops, and a rich variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. However, the cured meats were generally a bit too salty. Cons: 1. For a 5-star hotel, there was no safe in the room. 2. While there's an abundance of kids' activities, most of them come with a fee. 3. Since the kids' club was newly renovated, the smell was quite strong, making my eyes and throat uncomfortable. Overall, we were still very satisfied. I imagine it would be even more atmospheric to visit in winter for the hot springs, though I expect it would be extremely crowded.

My stay at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing was absolutely perfect, earning a full five-star review! I experienced both the main building and the traditional courtyard rooms. The location is superb, right next to Wangfujing and within walking distance to the Forbidden City, making getting around incredibly convenient. The hotel's design is truly unique and thoughtful. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the amenities are high-quality and smell wonderful – every detail shows great care. Our butler, Willow, provided attentive and thoughtful service; she was warm, polite, and perfectly balanced, never being intrusive. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring both authentic Beijing specialties and delicious Western options. The afternoon tea was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. This is definitely the top luxury hotel to stay at when visiting Beijing. Highly recommended!

Our stay at the Peninsula Wangfujing was an excellent experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff at the entrance. In particular, a middle-aged gentleman helped us with our luggage to the front desk, which truly showed the hotel's sincerity and passion for customer service. Initially, the room assigned by the front desk wasn't to my liking, but after mentioning it, the staff promptly arranged an equivalent suite for us. Their efficiency and service attitude were delightful. The hotel's breakfast restaurant is located on the first floor of the lobby. The ambiance is fantastic, the breakfast selection is rich, and the staff's service is impeccable. Perfect!

There were also explanations of ancient architecture, and I learned a lot about traditional Chinese buildings. The room conditions were good, and having a bathtub was a real plus – a soak after exploring was incredibly stress-relieving. The room was well-equipped with a coffee machine and various teas. The front desk staff were very efficient, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. However, a minor drawback was that some of the in-room fixtures showed signs of aging and could use regular maintenance and repair. Overall, this place is a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle, balancing beautiful natural scenery with rich cultural experiences. It’s an excellent spot for a relaxing getaway or a short break. If they regularly upgrade the room hardware in the future, the overall experience would be even more perfect. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet vacation and a taste of traditional culture.

What touched us most was that, thanks to Bingao's arrangements, the hotel also made special preparations for our baby's birthday. This warm and heartfelt surprise created very fond memories for our family trip. We could truly feel the hotel team's care and attention to their guests, which made this birthday extra special. I called the hotel to inquire, but the room had already been cleaned and new guests had checked in, and the pencil wasn't found. However, the hotel staff went above and beyond, communicating with various departments, re-entering the room, and meticulously searching. They finally found it tucked between the nightstand and the bed! They called me immediately to confirm and shipped it back to me. My child was thrilled to get it back! I'm so grateful for the hotel staff's diligent and thoughtful service, which saved us from a financial loss. While the hotel isn't brand new, the interior decor is clearly well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged. It's clean, well-equipped, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. We requested buckwheat pillows and mineral water, and they were promptly delivered to our room after we left a voicemail. Overall, our stay was a fantastic experience!

The shower and toilet areas were dimly lit, and there was no smart toilet. There were few power outlets by the bed, and I had to search for the switch for the bedside lamp near the bulb. The electric sheer curtain switch was by the window, which was inconvenient from the bed. If driving, you have to park in the China World Mall underground parking lot, which costs 10 yuan/hour. 🧊 **Environment:** The hotel has a unique location. Although I didn't stay in a room facing east towards the CBD, the view south towards Yintai and Guomao Bridge was also good. This environmental rating is mainly for the location and height. The lobby is very quiet, giving a sense of being removed from the hustle and bustle. The air conditioning in the public areas on the room floors was too cold; perhaps it's to accommodate foreign guests, but I personally didn't like it. 👤 **Service:** There was no doorman to greet me at the ground floor entrance. Before going up to the 64th-floor lobby for check-in, no one informed me that a room card was needed to access the lobby floor. No one guided me upon arrival either; it was purely self-service, which made for a rather unremarkable experience. Turndown service was already prepared when I entered the room. All guest rooms come with executive privileges; the basic room type is essentially an executive room, with no separate executive floor distinction. The minibar offered a good variety, but everything was chargeable. Iris Shang, who handled my checkout, was efficient and had a pleasant demeanor, providing excellent service – a definite highlight. 🍽️ **Dining:** I arrived too late to experience the afternoon tea and happy hour, and I also didn't get up for breakfast. Before leaving, I took a look at the lounge on the 80th floor, and the view was great. Later, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bananas and ginseng fruit in the welcome fruit basket were delicious and very sweet. I'll look for an opportunity to try the dining options or have a meal at Grill 79 separately next time. 💬 **Summary:** I stayed for one night on a whim. Having never stayed in a tall building in Beijing's CBD, I chose the tallest one, the China World Summit Wing. The location and views are fantastic, but the hotel is generally quite old, and the style feels more business-oriented. After turndown service, there was a small bookmark on the bed with a quote from ”Lost Horizon” that coincidentally mentioned ”Shangri-La.” If interpreted as the hotel brand, it's a bit... hahaha.

The hotel itself is great, I can't really fault it. The design is artistic, and both the facilities and service attitude are excellent. It offers good value for money in Beijing. There's a mall downstairs, making it convenient for dining or ordering takeout. However, the quality of some hotel guests is just bizarre. The couple next door were absolute animals, treating the hotel like their own personal movie set. I had just had a cosmetic procedure and my face was throbbing. I was hoping for a quiet night's rest. Instead, I was driven to my wit's end by the incessant noise from these two all night long. The first 'show' started at 7 PM. The screaming was like someone being butchered, so loud I honestly thought there was a ghost. There was even a sound like glass breaking, and I almost put on a Buddhist chant. On closer listening, it turned out to be the woman yelling 'hubby' and 'don't want to'. It ended abruptly after five minutes, at least they had some shred of dignity left. Then at 2:30 AM, it started again, waking both my boyfriend and me. For over half an hour, it was non-stop 'ah ah ah, oh oh oh, ho ho ho,' 'so hard,' 'so deep,' and the guy was constantly dirty talking. The noise was so loud it sounded like they'd moved their bed right outside my window. This isn't a *******, and there are children staying here. Can't you two have some common decency? No one is interested in your late-night adult film live stream. If you're going to be so 'talented,' at least cover your mouths and shut the door completely. Don't make your neighbors your unwilling audience. I'm just an innocent guest who just had surgery. And after all that, they still wouldn't quiet down, continuing to talk loudly and cackle like ****** until 5 AM. It was as if they were the only two people in the entire building, with no sound from any other room. I only went to sleep when they finally stopped talking, and the next day my eyes looked like a 'sad frog'. The moment I thought about calling the front desk, they'd go silent, and the moment I tried to sleep, they'd start up again. What exactly was the point of all that?

With the holiday crowds, being able to get into our room early to drop off our luggage and start our day unhurriedly was a huge relief. The high-floor room offered expansive views, and the interior was quiet and calming. The location was convenient for getting around, and the service was attentive and discreet. It truly set a comfortable tone for the start of our journey.

A butler was waiting for us while we parked, showing exceptional service. Upon checking in at the lobby, we were offered complimentary snacks and drinks. To my delight, they upgraded our room for free, allowing for a better view of Yanqi Lake. The room table had fruit and wine, and the butler had even prepared aromatherapy. Surprisingly, the bathroom floor was also thoughtfully equipped with a non-slip mat. The butler also brought our luggage to our room, and to my surprise, given the slightly chilly temperature, they even brought down a warm coat from the car – incredibly considerate! We had initially mentioned needing to get our luggage, but only remembered when they went to retrieve it, and then they thoughtfully brought us the warm coat! We also participated in an afternoon cultural tour, which provided a deeper understanding of the hotel's design style and philosophy. The food was excellent, and the hotel facilities, cleanliness, and environment were superb! Not to mention the butler's service – it was exceptional! I highly recommend this hotel to families visiting Yanqi Lake. If we go again in the future, we will definitely choose Yanbai Mountain Villa again!
