After all, it's a long-established luxury hotel with a rich Southeast Asian resort vibe. Although the first impression upon entering the room was definitely that it's a bit dated 😂, and a slight musty smell was noticeable, an air purifier was provided. I was initially a bit concerned about the room condition, but thankfully there was Darryl, who actively helped coordinate a room change for us, even upgraded our room type, and gave us complimentary Ching Po Leung (local herbal dessert). The attention to detail was top-notch, which significantly enhanced our experience and provided great emotional value. The hotel's public areas are unquestionable—exquisitely decorated and great for taking photogenic pictures. Before checking out at 9 AM on the 11th, I went to the beach. I was deeply impressed by the uncle on card-swiping duty; he was warm and proactive. While waiting for the buggy, he even introduced the nearby island to us. Thumbs up! The breakfast selection is limited, but the taste is on point. After informing the chef that a flying insect had fallen into a dish, they immediately discarded the whole tray—a very prompt and decisive handling of the situation. A small tip: opt for rooms closer to the main building or villas for a better stay experience. And there are three super cute cats—have you ever considered officially adopting them, haha?

My first trip to Sanya was absolutely stunning, thanks to Capella! It's definitely the top choice for families with kids, and the ocean-view room was breathtaking! This was our first time bringing our two-year-old to Sanya, and after thorough research, we chose Capella – and it proved to be the perfect decision! We stayed for a whole week, and the first 4 nights in the ocean-view room were simply amazing. Stepping out onto the balcony, you're greeted by an endless expanse of ocean. Waking up to that view every day put me in such a great mood. The room itself was incredibly spacious; even on rainy days, there was plenty of room for our baby to run and play. We could lay out several suitcases on the floor without feeling cramped at all. Capella's attention to detail was exceptional. Besides the routine morning cleaning, there was also a super ritualistic evening turndown service, with fresh towels and water replenished promptly. The main pool is fantastic for photos in swimwear! There were lifeguards on duty constantly, and they even helped inflate swimming rings. Towels were already laid out on the lounge chairs, so you could dry off immediately after swimming and avoid catching a cold. The sand on the beach was incredibly fine and soft; it felt so comfortable to walk on barefoot. Our baby loved digging in the sand so much that she didn't want to leave. And I must commend the Thai restaurant for its food! The grilled sea bass was absolutely divine, and the shaved ice was so refreshing in the summer heat. The service was also incredibly thoughtful; when we asked for plain boiled noodles for our baby, the kitchen prepared them for free. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of Chinese and Western dishes. That sour and spicy 'zaopo cu' (vinegar soup) was so appetizing; it felt like it could go with anything! It happened to be my and my husband's birthdays during our stay, and the hotel not only surprised us with a delicious, not-too-sweet birthday cake but also specially prepared longevity noodles for breakfast. It was both surprising and incredibly touching! The beachfront BBQ in the evening also had a wonderful ambiance, and we ate so much we could barely move. Most importantly, I want to thank our butler, Sky! She contacted us even before check-in, providing a super comprehensive map, details on the three ceremonies, and reservation guides. During our stay, she was warm, thoughtful, and meticulous. Any requests we had were handled incredibly quickly, and her responses were super prompt. Thank you, Sky, for your attentive care these past few days. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Sanya!

The Wyndham Lingshui Clear Water Bay Resort, despite being open for ten years, still offers a very good overall stay experience even though some facilities show their age. Its location is outstanding, making it incredibly convenient for self-driving to various attractions in Lingshui with short commute times. The biggest highlight of the hotel is that your room card grants access to the back garden. The garden boasts beautiful landscaping and features a swimming pool. Walking through the garden leads directly to the beach, where the rocky shore is perfect for kids to go crabbing, and the scenery is absolutely stunning. To be objective, there are a couple of downsides: The hotel has a semi-open design, with the lobby entrance wide open, which means it doesn't feel cool enough when you enter during the summer. The guest room corridors are also open-air, making them a bit stuffy and hot around midday. The buffet breakfast selection is somewhat limited; it would be even more perfect if they could expand the variety and improve the quality of the dishes. Overall, it's ideal for family vacations, especially if you're traveling by car. The private beach and garden are significant bonuses.
