"I stayed one night at Modern East because I wanted to be close to the Eurostar station for my early-morning departure. The location was perfect for catching the train, and the room was clean and had basic coffee and tea facilities. The price was also reasonable. However, the biggest problem was the lack of air conditioning. The room was extremely hot, which completely ruined my comfort and my night’s sleep. I barely slept and couldn’t even get properly under the bedsheets because of the heat. I was sweating for most of the night and had to keep towels nearby. It’s disappointing because air conditioning is such a basic investment that can make a huge difference to a guest’s comfort. The hotel may be perfectly fine during the winter, but during the summer, it would be a big no for me. In the end, I would rather spend a little extra money to stay somewhere with proper air conditioning. For me, the savings simply weren’t worth the uncomfortable night."

They don’t offer disposable shavers but willing to mail our post card for free. Very nice! I love their big sink in shower room. Also, They have different rooms for toilets and shower which is very good. But the downside is I need to go back to shower rooms wash my hands. They don’t have sink in the toilet room. Forgot to mention that their shower room floor is slippery. Few times I almost slipped. Its plastic floor, not ceramic or other materials. You just have to be careful. Or, ask for a matt to prevent slipping."
