Nicely located hotel with great amenities and a historical touch/feel. Love how it immerses itself in a busy district but still has all the privacy.
The hospitality of the front desk could be improved but overall excellent.

Fortunately, I stayed at the famous Park Hyatt Kyoto 701. When checking in at the lobby, the service staff knelt down to serve throughout the whole process. I could enjoy sake, champagne, etc. at the same time. It happened to be a guqin performance at 5 o'clock. The whole check-in experience was smooth and full of senses. When I entered the room and the service staff opened the window, I was intoxicated by the real scene even if I had watched many videos before. During my stay, I saw the red leaves of the ancient pagoda and even the rainbow in the early morning, which was poetic and picturesque.
The room supplies are basically the same as other Park Hyatts around the world, and there is no merit or demerit. The breakfast on the second day was mediocre because I had tried the breakfast at Kyoto Yamato before, so I chose Western style this time. The buffet had Chinese buns and rice dumplings, which were quite authentic. The dishes ordered were also amazing, and the udon noodles were delicious. At the breakfast location, you can see the comings and goings of people in Ninenzaka, and even feel that you are part of the street.
A small complaint is: there seems to be an exhaust vent for the heating system under room 701. There will be intermittent white smoke floating in the autumn and winter. When the smoke is heavy, it affects the viewing experience. If you want to take pictures, you have to wait for a while. I hope the hotel can make adjustments in the future.

- Sanitary environment: The room is generally clean except for some dust on the wall beside the bed
- Surrounding environment: The hotel is relatively close to the scenic area of Kiyomizu Temple and Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. It takes about 15-25 minutes by taxi. It is a little far from Kinkakuji Temple. There is a Lawson nearby. There are not many restaurant options. The scenery is pretty good and a little quiet. There is a home in the hotel
- Hotel service: Not bad. I checked in late that day. The hotel front desk called to inquire about the check-in time and was informed that the door would be locked after 10 o'clock. The restaurant pushed chairs and supported chairs (although the Japanese breakfast was not very delicious, an additional ¥1,900 per person was charged). There were free snacks and afternoon tea (wine or tea) before dinner
- Hotel facilities: There is a gym. The gym only has a few aerobic equipment, elliptical machines, treadmills, and a few dumbbells on the dumbbell rack. There are not many choices. There is also an ice machine room. The drinks in the mini bar are not charged separately, and there are many drinks. There are also matcha tea bags and a set of tea sets in the room

The room was larger than expected and very comfortable. The overall hotel was very good. There was a spa that could be booked in advance. The service attitude was also very good. The only drawback was that there was no hot spring bath. In addition, the hotel breakfast required an appointment. If you wanted to sit by the window, you had to make an appointment in advance, otherwise you might not be able to sit there randomly.

My husband and I have been to Kyoto many times and stayed in various luxury hotels, but the Kyoto Bettei at the Sora-niwa Terrace this time is definitely our favorite and most satisfying one! Although the room rate is nearly 6,000 per night, it is worth the money. If it weren’t for the fact that the bed was a little too soft and not elastic enough, it would almost be a full score💯
The hotel is in an extremely advantageous location, with subways and trains nearby, small rivers and large rivers within easy reach, and beautiful scenery;
The room has a private hot spring in Shijo Kawaramachi, which is extremely rare in a hotel in the city center, and the hot spring water quality is excellent. After taking a bath every day, I feel that my skin and body are in great condition;
The service is first-class, the front desk guy is handsome and gentle, not only carefully and thoughtfully explaining all the details, but also recommending several particularly delicious restaurants for us (we have almost tasted them, great!)
The hotel room is spacious and very comfortable, making us almost reluctant to go out... There is a warm outdoor terrace overlooking Kiyomizu Temple, a TV that can be projected, and a refrigerator full of snacks and various drinks for free...
What surprised us most is that the hotel has a ”secret exit” only for guests. From here, you don't need to go through the front desk and go directly to the nearby streets. Every time you walk, you feel like you are on a ”Roman Holiday”.
I strongly recommend friends who come to Kyoto to stay here. We will definitely choose this place again next time we come.

This time was the most serious one. I thought it didn’t matter whether it was expensive or expensive when staying in a casual and high-end hotel. Unexpectedly, except for the good service, there was no other redeeming feature in terms of hardware. First of all, the location. It's not convenient. If you want to go to a convenience store or nearby restaurants, you need to walk for more than 10 minutes. The entrance of the hotel is very hidden. When you arrived, you couldn't find the entrance after walking around twice. The hotel is small and there are basically no public facilities. There is no own parking lot, no fitness room, and no large bathing area, except for a relatively high-end restaurant. Breakfast is included, but if you want to eat better, you have to pay extra. No matter how many nights you stay, only one dinner is included. This is the first time I have seen this kind of offer, and it is not an expensive dish. If you want to eat wagyu, you need to pay extra. The price is expensive and the portion is small. The rent itself is two to three times more expensive than other hotels in Kyoto area. When you book a room on the website, there is a balcony in the photo, but when you check in, you are told that it cannot be used. The view outside the window is the sidewalk across the street. The mattress has no elasticity and the more you sleep, the more it sinks. In the Mini bar, you need everything except water and coffee. Needless to say about the fees and prices. I really want to know why they charge this rent. It feels like a money grab. I have said that I will never stay in a hotel of this group in the future

I had an excellent stay at Fauchon. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The hotel staff were also incredibly attentive and polite throughout our stay.
My room was small but comfortable, featuring modern and luxurious amenities that were stylishly pink in colour and comfortable bedding. The attention to detail in the room was impressive, with thoughtful touches including a whole array of complimentary cookies and cake. Breakfast was served as a set menu and selection was limited and basic but expertly prepared and presented.
The hotel's location was also perfect for me because it is situated right in the heart of Kyoto yet away from the crowded spots with excellent access to public transportation. The bus station is right in front of the hotel, the nearest train station is about 10 mins walk and the hotel is approx 15 mins walk to Kawaramachi Street (shopping area). Just behind our hotel is the river and all the restaurants. Our room has the mountain view.

The hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid.
We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens.
For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks.
We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive.
The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

GGuest UserI am really satisfied with this hotel! I chatted with my friend before and felt that Hyatt Hotel was too expensive. She said that Qingshui Qinglong was also good. I decided to give it a try and was really satisfied!
First of all, the road leading to Qingshui Temple can be driven for a while, and the other part can only be walked. This hotel is just at that intersection. The location is really impeccable.
Then although this hotel is in the most popular tourist area, it is completely quiet in the bustling area. It feels like meeting love around the corner. When you look up, you can see Yasaka Pagoda.
Then the hotel's service, facilities, and bedding are all very satisfactory. The only flaw is the breakfast, which is in line with Japanese efficiency. I have been waiting for a long time. Then I chose the Japanese soup pot, but I was not full at all. I had to add rice twice in a row and finished the rice with the soup base.

LLi Ing Sheryl LeeWe like how the check in was done through an automated system which was easy to use. A staff is nearby to help if help is ever needed. The hotel also offer amenities in the lobby for guests to self-help which even include facial products like make-up remover and masks. The hotel room was clean and beds were comfortable. The pillows provided are of 2 intensities - hard and soft so that guests can choose to use whichever work for them. Sufficient space in the hotel room. The service staff are always smiling and pleasant to talk to. When I called the front desk to check if I could borrow their travel adaptor and I offered to go down to collect from them. The front desk helped to deliver it up to my room in less than 5min. I really appreciate their effort. All in all, this hotel is very efficient and we enjoyed our stay.

GGuest UserBeautiful view and delicious food. The picture shows breakfast, mostly vegetarian dishes, very healthy. The manager is very handsome. Check in at 3 pm, even half an hour earlier is not allowed, pay attention to the time arrangement. There are many fat koi in the courtyard outside the room, and they also let me feed the fish food, very happy 🥳
GGuest UserOne of the nicest hotel with a lovely Japan and Kyoto like interiors in Kyoto for the price in the area. Room and bathroom is spacious and a large bath tub with tv is good plus point if you enjoy taking a bath. The front staffs are not the best and friendly ones but provide service you need. Our family stayed for 2 nights, one room in the 3rd floor and the other in the ground floor. The ground floor room has really bad moldy and cigarette smell, my husband and I notified hotel and asked if they gave us a smoking room by mistake. They said they will do something with it and when we back to the room at night we saw they kept opening the window but it was still smelly and disgusting. It was very unpleasant.

GgzsylviaThe hotel is newly opened, with a very elegant design. It continues the Banyan Tree's usual wooden elements to give people a fresh and natural feeling. The rooms are spacious. I love the wooden private bath in the room the most. The hot spring spa is amazing. The hotel provides exquisite dinner and breakfast. Walking in the hotel's small garden in the morning and looking at the dense bamboo forest is very healing. The staff is warm and thoughtful, polite and meticulous, and the ceiling level

AAnonymous UserI had a wonderful stay at this clean hotel! The room, while cozy, was perfect for a solo traveler. Bed is comfortable as well. It’s located along a quieter street and about 400m to the nearest bus stop, so arriving here with luggage may be just a little challenging during peak hours. About 15-20mins to Kyoto station if you like a walk. Bus/train rides to the popular areas in Kyoto.
The hotel amenities were great though —everything you need for a comfortable stay. Would recommend if you are okay with the traveling time at the start and end of each day.

JJoannaTVery good stay with perfect location. A walk behind the hotel is the bars and restaurants district of Kyoto - you can find a lot of speakeasies and enjoy nights of drinking cocktails and music.
It is also just a 5-10 minutes walk to the station which connects to the various attractions in Kyoto - like Fushimi Inari Shrine, and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.
We went during New Year’s Day - and although some shops are closed but bars are open and the hotel reception has a list of restaurants which are open as well and is helpful in letting us know.
The room ( we picked one of the artist’s room) and it is wonderful. It is big and spacious by Japanese standard with very large bathroom , separate bathtub and toilet and large space. The facade of the room is also a clean, minimalist look with the detailed white and black cups down. We really enjoyed the room and the space.
Breakfast is complimentary and there is a good selection of toasts. One of us is vegetarian - and they do have a selection of vegetarian toast ( not much) but they accommodated with vegetarian soup if you ask !

BBee HoonHighly recommended.
1. The breakfasts are amazing. Looked forward to it every morning during the trip.
2. The room we booked includes 2 beds and 2 futons, I like that combination, suitable for the elderly who may have problems sleeping on the floor.
My kids also said the futon is super comfy.
3. The location is very convenient too, within walking distance to many places of interest.
4. If you prefer to have no room service during the stay, you can also opt out of room service, and the hotel will gift you a box of cookies as a replacement for that option. I like that.
5. We booked a Kaiseiki dinner one day in advance during our stay, a bit expensive, but the experience was amazing, and we had the entire restaurant for ourselves for that dinner.
But, I won't recommend booking all dinners (with the room) though, there are a lot of good meal options around the area. So definitely should explore more; must try more options in Gion as there are many amazing Japanese places within walking distance.
Overall a really good experience. Thank you.

Ccharlie_quAccommodation in Kyoto is relatively expensive compared to Japan. As one of the largest hotel chains in Japan, Toyoko Inn can be understood as a plus version of Hanting, but the overall service and cleanliness are on a higher level. The rooms are not big but very clean, and come with breakfast, self-service toiletries, and DHC facial care portable packages, which are rare in China.
HhuangbaogangThe room is very big, with 2 beds + 1 sofa bed, suitable for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children).
Very important point: the hotel has a free shuttle bus (to Kyoto Station)
Hygiene: very clean
Facilities: fully equipped
