"I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, I would definitely rate it as a solid 4-star experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive, which immediately set a positive tone for my stay. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I appreciated how clearly everything was explained. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and I had no trouble getting a good night’s sleep. The décor was modern and tasteful, and all the basic amenities were provided, including toiletries, a coffee machine, and reliable Wi-Fi. Housekeeping did a great job each day, keeping everything tidy and replenished. One of the highlights of the hotel was its facilities. The common areas were clean and nicely designed, and there was a relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. The breakfast was also quite good, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. While it wasn’t the most luxurious breakfast I’ve ever had, it was definitely above average and satisfying. The location of the hotel was another strong point. It was conveniently situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation. This made getting around very simple and added a lot of value to the overall experience. That said, there were a few minor areas that could be improved. At times, service could be slightly slow during busy hours, and a few small details in the room showed slight wear. However, these issues were not major and did not significantly affect my stay. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money and provides a comfortable and enjoyable experience. It may not be perfect, but it certainly meets the expectations of a 4-star hotel. I would happily recommend it to others and would consider staying here again in the future"

A Truly Exceptional Stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto Our family had a wonderful experience at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, and we left with nothing but gratitude and happy memories. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless and heartfelt — the kind of genuine hospitality that makes a trip feel truly special. A huge thank you to Cecilia and Vinnie from the Guest Experience team, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and comfortable. Their warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtful gestures made us feel incredibly welcomed. A very special shout-out to Cecilia, who noticed my daughter’s love for Winnie the Pooh after our visit to Disneyland Resort. She prepared a beautiful card, a sweet message, and even a handmade Pooh origami and placed it in our room. It absolutely made our daughter’s day — such a thoughtful touch we will never forget. We also want to commend Yuki from the restaurant team for his warm and wonderful breakfast service each morning. His kindness and attention to detail set the perfect tone to start our day. The Ritz Kids adventure passport was a delightful surprise — engaging not only for our daughter but also enjoyable for us as parents. And of course, we loved the festive Christmas atmosphere, especially the beautiful Christmas tree and the amazing gingerbread house with the incredible aroma that filled the lobby. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We felt cared for, welcomed, and genuinely appreciated. We can’t wait to return again. Highly recommended for families and anyone seeking an unforgettable Kyoto stay.

My Kyoto trip was particularly satisfying with this Kyoto townhouse. It had a garden, a private hot spring bath, and was brimming with Japanese charm. The breakfasts were especially delightful, with a wide variety and different dishes each day. After breakfast, there was also a traditional Kyoto matcha and carefully selected sweets; the owner even patiently explained the proper way to drink the matcha. It's a bit far from the subway, but there are several bus stops nearby, making it quite convenient. Strolling along Kyoto's charming streets and discovering hidden gems of little shops was also a delightful experience.

Everything is perfect except the so-called wagyu dinner at the hotel restaurant. While the photo of the menu presents a nice wagyu and you can pre-order as many times as you can within 90 minutes, the beef was served in a very disgusting appearance. It is tough and dark yet it is not done inside. It is definitely not worthy of 7890 yens pax. It was electric grill but not charcoal grill. Anyway, the services provided the waiter, Alan, is brilliant. He was sincere and friendly. The housekeeper, Ms Aina Sao was also deserve my praise. She works with a nice and sincere manner and always put a smile on her face. Also, there are free wine, snacks and beer after 3 pm. You could also grind coffee beans and make yourself a cup of nice coffee. The public bath is not a real onsen. There should be no natural minerals in the water but a slight smell of chlorine. All in all, Hotel Potel is definitely on my list when I visit Kyoto next time.

Anyone visiting Kyoto should be familiar with this hotel because it's located right in the heart of the shopping district, which is incredibly convenient. The location is excellent; you step right out to Takashimaya, and there's even a direct connection from the hotel's third floor! The hotel also boasts a cafe, a supermarket, and a gym... perfect for young travelers! The rooms are spacious, the bedding is comfortable, and the bathroom is also very roomy.

I really like this place. It’s my first time to travel to Japan alone. I stayed in Osaka the night before, and I stayed here when I came to Kyoto. I saw it recommended by others before, even though my Japanese is very poor. Fortunately, I can communicate in English. The lady who checked me in was very patient and took me inside to explain the area to me. When I checked out in the morning, my uncle was very enthusiastic and even called the dog out. I was actually completely I booked this hotel because I was attracted by dogs... I was so pleasantly surprised, and then I successfully took a photo with the dog! (It was resting when I came the night before. It had its own name, but I forgot it😂) I really like it, and there is a path nearby where you can walk to Kiyomizudera Temple. There are few people at night and the scenery is beautiful. It is really a special time. An unforgettable and wonderful experience! Thank you to everyone I met!

+ this hotel 01 station only from Kyoto Station, using metro and stop at Koji Station , and then walking about 15minutes to the hotel + The easy way to reach this hotel is using bus, and stop at Kujo Omiya. Many bus have direct route to Gion, and other tourist spot (about 30 minutes riding). Please take a notes, this hotel is not in tourist area, very quiet and you will meet with many local people here. + this hotel have a concierge and standby staff, so you can keep the luggage before checkin. + this hotel is very new, i think maybe open early 2026, when we proceed for the check in, the hotel staff gave us some welcoming gift, and we can saw many flowers buoquet there. And the good news, yes they have an elevator, so no issue for thise who bring big luggage + Room very clean and tidy. We book for 03 persons, and they prepare room with 04 twin beds (separate 02 rooms). Inside room have bathtub, laundry, kitchen + equipment, and 01 dining table. + I think maybe this is the best hotel we stay at Japan. Very modern, all brand new, many USB port inside the room, wifi connection is strong, really quiet and really convenient for stay + around 05 minutes walking, you will find japanese ramen noodle resto, and also local mini market. - a little bit troublesome for communicate with the hotel staff, because when we want to make sure about Yamato Delivery Service to this hotel, it was so hard to reach to hotel staff throung phone / email. When we asking to the hotel staff about this, they said they not receiving any chat from the trip.com / ******* platform. I dont know where is the issue, maybe because this hotel very new or they are not ready yet for the online communication Please take a notes that you have to pay kyoto city tax. We stay for 02 night, and we pay JPY 1.600 total Overall it was a nice stay, and definitely really recomend this hotel for stay at Kyoto.

Everything was good except the service in hotel restaurants, which was exceptionally bad: 1) breakfast: waited for food for 40 mins, reminded the server 2 times - still nothing; 2) bar: a too long wait for a cocktail. the server said that as apology said cocktail won’t be in included in the bill… but it was there; 3) afternoon tea: told the staff that I dislike dairy products, but have no allergy. So, for example I can eat most sweets, but not the ones with a strong taste of mascarpone cream. In the end they gave me just a plate of fruit and when I remninded them of the above they… did nothing ) I stayed at this hotel and had afternoon tea there last year too - everything was fine then. All of the above are 3 different restaurants inside the hotel, so I wouldn’t recommend going to any restaurant there. In all other aspects except services related to food the hotel is good.

We booked this hotel for the purpose of staying in a Japanese-style garden for one night. I didn't expect it to be quite internationally friendly. There were foreigners at the front desk who spoke English and Japanese. They were afraid that you wouldn't know how to find food, so they provided nearby restaurants, convenience stores, and vintage stores suitable for foreigners. What was surprising was that these stores basically had English menus, and they wouldn't waste time gesturing with you, which improved efficiency. There was a vintage store on the first floor, and the store owner was very enthusiastic. After you got dressed, they would take you around the hotel to check in, for fear that you wouldn't make a good photo. The price was fair, and the most important thing was that it was easy to return the clothes. We rented a half-day 4-hour package at noon, and the boss lady only asked us to return it to the hotel front desk before 11 o'clock tomorrow. During this half-day, we took the wrong bus to Osaka in kimonos, as if we were going to a comic convention and taking the subway, which was too social. In the evening, we went to the recommended Sukiyaki, and returned to the hotel front desk at 11 o'clock in the middle of the night. The room can really be described in four words: the house is bare, there is no TV, but the bathroom is extremely clean, and even the sewer pipes are shown to you, for fear that you would say it is dirty. If you have a set of Japanese tea sets, it will be more convenient to make tea art films.

I don’t usually give bad reviews for hotel, you can check my Google reviews, mostly are 4-5 stars. This hotel’s location a bit away from man Kyoto centre at 7th bridge. Bus station just walking distance but if you come with heavy luggage, still need to take uber/DiDi from Kyoto station if you arrive Kyoto city by train . I actually booked a two full bed quadruple room for 5 nights but upon arrival was given a family room with one double bed. Since we are family with 4 adults and the hotel confirmation letter clearly stated two full beds so I tried to talk to the receptionist called Amar Singh. He just not interested to help and said the booking by trip.com via Rakuten is just family room. I contacted trip.com customer service and try to ask the price difference between the quadruple room and family room. He just refused to even let me know the price difference and keep saying that the quadruple room is not available, even I willing to change room in between, he said that cleaning fees will be applied if I keep changing the room. When I ask about the cleaning fees again he refused to respond. First time I encountered such bad hotel receptionist in my years of travel. Is a shame to Resi Stay’s name. Please note also there is no daily house keeping in this hotel even you stay 5 nights, is this hotel so under staffed??
