"I personally love sleeping in hotels where I can hear the sound of water; it helps me sleep really well, but that's just a personal preference. The staff, an auntie and uncle who are probably both over 60, provided excellent service. I actually prefer older staff members; their work ethic shows a respect for the value of their time, unlike younger people who might be ready to switch jobs at any moment. The hot spring and meals were perfectly aligned with the price!"

"This hotel offers great value for money. It's my second time in Hakone, and compared to the hotels by Lake Ashi, this one feels much newer. The rooms are quite spacious for Japan, with a 1.5-meter bed and a 1.1-meter bed side-by-side. The toilet is separate from the shower, which is a wet/dry design. The view from the window is also lovely. The hot springs are on the sixth floor, featuring both outdoor mountain-view onsens and indoor ones. The outdoor area also has a single and a double private pool, which is a nice touch. Overall, it's pretty good. The breakfast and dinner are more Japanese style, with ramen, miso soup, sashimi, and sweet shrimp. The mattress in the room was really comfortable. All in all, a great stay. Right opposite the hotel is the Okada Museum of Art, which I highly recommend visiting, especially as a Chinese person. The first floor of the five-story museum is dedicated to Chinese porcelain from various dynasties, with the oldest being a green-glazed阁楼 (pavilion) from the 2nd-3rd century BC (Former Han Dynasty), standing about a meter tall. I won't say too much more, as photography of the artifacts is not allowed."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would happily give this hotel 5 stars!
From the very beginning, the staff were incredibly accommodating and responsive. They kindly arranged to pick us up from Gotemba Premium Outlets, which made everything so convenient for us.
After attending the beautiful Yamanakako Ice Lantern Festival, we made a last-minute request for dinner. Despite the short notice, they thoughtfully prepared a delicious shabu-shabu meal for us. They even gave us complimentary cookies because our moms were very hungry after the festival. It was such a sweet and caring gesture that we truly appreciated.
The hotel itself is spacious, clean, and wonderfully warm, making it the perfect place to relax after being out in the cold. We felt comfortable, cared for, and genuinely welcomed throughout our stay.
Highly recommended for their exceptional hospitality. We would definitely love to come back!"

"This hotel is suitable for self-driving as public transport stops are quite a distance away, making it inconvenient with luggage. Checking in very late felt a bit odd, and I mistakenly went to an old building nearby which was quite a fright! However, many staff appeared the next morning and everything was sorted. The breakfast was plentiful, and the front desk staff, who spoke Chinese, were very helpful in assisting us with taxi bookings, which was a huge plus."

"This is a very spacious onsen ryokan with a kids' book corner and a manga nook. The private onsen baths are free of charge, making it perfect for family trips, though they are quite popular and require a queue. There are complimentary afternoon refreshments and late-night snacks. The courtyard features a bonfire and foot bath. From check-in in the afternoon, there are always facilities to use, and it never feels too crowded, even on weekends, as the space is very well-arranged and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located right next to Gora Station, making it easy to get around by bus or train. The staff are very friendly, and snacks are constantly replenished, so you don't have to worry about missing out if you arrive late. After a hot spring bath, there's milk and popsicles available. The 24-hour self-service beverage bar also has hot water and hot tea, so those who prefer warm water are covered. The only downside is the lack of a full-length mirror in the room, which is a bit of a pity."

2026 Asia 100 - Hot Spring Hotels"This hotel is quite unique! Because it's built on a hillside, its first floor connects to the fifth floor of a neighboring shopping mall, while its main lobby is on its own fifth floor. The higher floors offer even better views. The lobby entrance faces directly onto the mountains, providing stunning scenery, and the foot bath by the entrance is wonderfully therapeutic. Both large onsen pools have outdoor sections with fantastic views. They are fully equipped with jacuzzis, saunas, cold plunge pools, and massage areas, making for a truly satisfying hot spring experience! Both breakfast and dinner are buffet-style and taste excellent. Additionally, the hotel offers a wide range of complimentary activities. I highly recommend the Mori no Yu onsen facility that partners with the hotel; it has numerous hot springs with diverse styles, and the bathing experience there is even better than at the hotel itself. This was an absolutely perfect onsen experience and well worth it."

No. 6 of 4-Star Select Hotels in Kanagawa Prefecture"We stayed in a few Ryokans but this Yoshiike Ryokan is the best because the room have large window that allow fresh mountain air to flow into the room and the futons are incredibly comfortable and warmed. We came in January when the weather dropped to 0c and the room had heaters. The onsen is beautiful and natural. My wife loved the gardens. And the receptionists are very polite and happy. We loved happy people that makes your money well spend. Will come back in the winter."

"We loved this experience! After travelling from Tokyo that morning and all around Hakone, we were wrecked by the time we got to the accommodation. The hosts offer free collection from the bottom of the cable car. We text them saying we would be arriving in 10 minutes and they had someone waiting for us. The check in was smooth and the hosts are very accommodating, have good English and will do anything they can to help you. We had a room with a Mt. Fuji view who was on show for a few hours. They then brought us in a shuttle to a nearby restaurant and the restaurant brought us back to the accommodation. The accom was very big for the two of us and we found the beds really comfy. We also got private onsen for 30 mins (available between 10-11pm) for only 2,000 yen. In the morning, they dropped us back (again free) to our bus stop. We loved this whole experience and calm back feeling relaxed and revived. Couldn’t recommend more!"

"Our room this time was facing the street, and we could see Mount Fuji right when we opened the curtains in the morning. Even though some mountains were blocking the view, the peaks peeking through actually gave it more depth and character.
The room was spotless and spacious enough to open up two large suitcases, making it perfect for families or groups traveling together.
Notably, there's a convenience store at both the north and south exits of the hotel, which is super handy for grabbing water and snacks. However, the north exit is quieter compared to the bustling south exit. Also, the north and south exits aren't directly connected; you have to walk around for about 10 minutes, which can be a bit challenging if you're lugging heavy luggage.
Since we were facing the street, we occasionally heard traffic or people chatting late at night (though it was much better with the windows closed). I guess that's a small price to pay for such a beautiful view.
Overall, the view and cleanliness were big pluses, and it offers good value for money. I'd recommend it to anyone who has reasonable expectations for the view and quietness!"
