Hakone Yutowa ★★★★
"Very clean and convenient. I would surely recommend for families looking for best location and accommodation."
Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu ★★★★★
"After checking in, I finally understood why some people come back multiple times. It was a very pleasant experience."
Tenseien ★★★★
"This is a Japanese-style hot spring hotel, and the open-air bath is fantastic. Breakfast is just okay, also Japanese-style, and quite simple."
Setsugetsuka ★★★★
"Like the private onsen very much. The lobby is grand and authentic japanese feel. Dinner and breakfast are good too.. Amenities in the room is slightly dated.."
Hakone Yumoto Onsen Hakoneji Kaiun ★★★
"The food and the ambiance are both excellent! 😊"
Yoshiike Ryokan ★★★★
"The environment is superb, and the hot springs are also great with not too many people. We booked dinner and breakfast, and the food was fresh and exquisite. The weather was lovely, and there were many unique general stores nearby."
Tenseien Odawara Station Annex ★★★★
"The hotel is incredibly convenient, located directly within the Odawara Station complex, although it can be a little tricky to find for first-timers. From Odawara Station's East Exit (stay within the station building), take a short escalator down. You'll spot the Lusca mall on your right. Upon entering, Marugame Udon is on your left, and Seijo Ishii supermarket is directly opposite. Walk past Marugame, turn left to exit the mall, then turn right onto a glass-enclosed walkway outside. Continue straight, passing a parking lot on your right. Keep going until you see the hotel's directional sign (like the one in the last photo). Take the escalator up to the 4th floor, where you'll find the hotel lobby. We stayed in a Double B room, which was relatively spacious and well-suited for a family of three. This particular room type, which we only saw listed on Ctrip, was excellent. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation but no bathtub. However, the public bath on the 10th floor was very comfortable (remember to bring your own towel!). There's also a foot bath on the 14th floor offering scenic views. If daily cleaning is desired, simply place the 'clean my room' sign outside your door, and fresh towels and yukata will be provided. Even if you forget the sign, they thoughtfully leave fresh yukata and towels at your door – a really nice touch. I appreciated this considerate service that respected our privacy. The bedding was comfortable, and individually packaged facial cleanser, makeup remover, and body lotion were replenished daily. Odawara is a wonderful city, and this hotel's location makes it extremely convenient for visiting Hakone, Atami, and Kamakura. I would love to visit again and would definitely choose this hotel for my next stay. The only minor downsides were the slight train noise (though I still slept very well during my three-night stay) and the slightly stiff toothbrush provided."
Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori ★★★★
"The location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around. There's a direct shuttle bus from Odawara Station to the hotel. The Pirate Ship and ropeway are just a five-minute walk away. The hotel staff are very enthusiastic. Although the facilities are a bit dated, the atmosphere is very cozy. The buffet dinner, included in the room rate, is extensive and offers a variety of drinks. However, the menu is pretty much the same every day, so after three days, it can get a bit repetitive."
Tsukino Yado Sara ★★★★
"It was pretty good, mostly fine, but there's no dinner available in the evenings, so you have to go out to eat."

Hakone Kowakien Hotel
"Wonderful, both breakfast and dinner are Buffet, and the water park is feel and nice for adults or kids"
Hakone Gora Byakudan
"The hotel has a unique charm and a great location. If you communicate in advance, they can arrange a pick-up/drop-off service from a nearby station. The rooms are Japanese-style with tatami mats, and it's a 'one night, two meals' plan. Dinner was delicious, and they even prepared the futons for us while we were eating. The public onsen is really comfortable; you can open the glass windows to take in the beautiful mountain scenery. The private onsen in the room was also a nice touch."
Hotel Indigo HAKONE GORA by IHG
"Really beautiful hotel, amazing staff. Room was amazing with great amenities, bit of a pig to get to from Gora station though, make sure to arrange their free shuttle service to avoid lugging your suitcase down a million stairs like I did. All on all a great stay though, highly recommend"
Gora Hanaougi Madoka No Mori
"The whole experience was a way over my expectations and very comforting to know they can arrange shuttle to pick us up at Gora Station whenever we need. The onsen was unbelievable whether is in the public or private, with the magnificent view! My partner and I were both very satisfied with the spread of food every breakfast and dinner. It truly deserved the 5 stars. We also wanna say a special thanks to Nana & Billy who professionally bring us a smile when they greeted us everyday we were there. Billy made the black tea exceptionally well that gave the most aroma of earl grey I ever had! The varieties of amenities that traditional Ryokan has was amazingly high standard. We will definitely choose to go back if we visit Hakone again no doubt."
Hakone Forest of Verde
"The hotel staff are very helpful and very nice, and they will do their best to serve the guests."
Yumoto Fujiya Hotel
"Facilities: A bit old, but cleanliness is acceptable. Location: It's a bit of a walk to the subway, but it's just across a bridge, closer than other places. The uneven pavement made it a bit difficult to pull my luggage. Service: The service attitude was pretty good. There are vending machines on the floor, so I didn't have to carry drinks back from the convenience store, which was a bit far."
Hakonenomori Okada
"It was a nice stay beautiful view from the top. We arrived raining and we left still Raining but aside of that it was a lovely stay. Great experienced."
Hotel Okada
"Reception counter staffs are responsive and helpful when I check in on 25/11/24 as this is my family first trip to Japan Tokyo and hakone .Nice view and nice Osen on the room"
Hotel Clad
"I happened to experience a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in the Fuji Five Lakes area. The whole room shook violently, and all the bottles and jars on the table fell to the floor. Surprisingly, the hotel was completely fine after the quake. The earthquake resistance is truly impressive! 👍 If it hadn't been for the earthquake, I'd say this hotel is incredibly convenient. It's easy to get to Gotemba for shopping, and the bus service to and from Tokyo is also very accessible. My only regret is that I didn't get to see Mount Fuji 🗻"
HOTEL nehako
"The room was great, well-equipped, and the service was excellent. Check-in was easy, and the self-service drink machine had a wide variety of options."
Hotel Green Plaza Hakone
"Very friendly staff, great location to see the Mount Fuji but the hotel is a bit outdated."
Hakone Retreat Före
"This hotel is located halfway up the mountain, offering a very peaceful environment. It boasts a large hot spring pool and a leisure area where you can read, play chess, or even roast sweet potatoes. The hotel's beverage bar provides complimentary freshly ground coffee and black tea. It's also very convenient for picking up guests from the bus station. The main languages spoken are English and Japanese, but Mandarin communication can also be requested. The freshly made burgers for breakfast are a nice touch; although the variety of dishes isn't extensive, the quality is good. Dinner is quite a ritual, with Western-style courses served one by one starting from the appetizer. The waiter explains each dish as it's served, and the food tastes great too."
Rembrandt Premium Fuji Gotenba
"An excellent experience! The room directly faced Mount Fuji, and you could also see it from the lounge, breakfast restaurant, and outdoor onsen. The hotel is quite old, but very well-maintained. The staff were super responsive and friendly. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see Mount Fuji!"
Blisstia Hakone Sengokuhara
"Lovely new hotel with a big room in Hakone. Convenient location with a 7-11 opposite and several restaurants. Breakfast was ok too."
Hakone Kowakien Mikawaya Ryokan
"The staff was incredible - they went above and beyond and actually drove us to the gora station when we missed the bus. The scenery around is beautiful, as is the main building. The public onsen in the hotel left much to be desired - if possible, book the room with a private one because it’s basically the same thing (the outside one) and you’d have it all to yourself. We weren’t fans of the food (neither diner nor breakfast) - the dinner was too much work with shabu shabu, the breakfast didn’t have coffee. But maybe some would like the food, it’s subjective. But I’d give the hotel an A* purely because of how incredible the staff were!"
Sengokuhara Shinanoki Ichinoyu
"The hotel is easily accessible by bus T or L (bus stop is near the train station Hakone-Yumoto). You can leave your bags in the hotel (check-in hours are limited) and go exploring. The hotel grounds are small, but our comfortable two-story room with its own onsen allowed us to relax in a private setting and recharge after a busy day of hiking in the mountains. I liked the public onsen less, as the contemplation and tranquility were greatly hampered by the noise from the road, which could be heard even late in the evening (the main public transport stops running at 6 pm). It was nice to immerse ourselves in the traditional vibe, wear yukatas, and try Japanese cuisine for breakfast and dinner (we liked dinner better). The waiter was a little awkward (he kept dropping things), but nice. We didn't understand his English very well, but there were instructions in English that helped us figure out how to cook everything. I recommend staying for at least three full days to avoid rushing through everything like we did. Be sure to consider the operating hours of public transportation, as you'll be very dependent on it. The two-day Hakone Pass paid for itself many times over. The open-air art museum was a lasting impression; it's definitely worth a visit!"
