"Good things: Location is okay near the small town. Staff did their best to help. Also their breakfast was traditional Japanese and delicious!
Bad things: It wasn't clear when I booked my room that there was NO bathroom and no toilet. We were expected to use the public bathrooms. Also the room was very cold and the heathe heater did not work well at all. Very traditional Japanese hotel but that doesn't mean that it can't be improved. We upgraded to a room with private bath and private onsen and that was cool but the bathroom was primitive and it was like walking into a freezer built in the 1800s. As I said, there's no reason why this cannot be modernized,"

"A very pleasant visit to kind, simple and peaceful people. I like a lot the location of the homestay, out of the center, up hill, need to move your ass to reach it. The hottest onsen I’ve been haha but also the most comfy as it’s private. I miss Rum already, what a nice dog, same as all the staff. A really worthy stop in Hakone with local people who feel real in an area full of tourism. Thanks a lot for taking care of my bags after my check in, those gestures are the ones that really count!"

"It was a self-check-in/self-check-out system without the presence of staff. Nothing could be done with the reservation number (11 digits) sent by Trip.com, and the hotel said that a registration link was sent by email in advance, and guests received a QR code and a 6-digit reservation number that could be registered in the hotel system through prior input/registration. I'm assuming you're checking in. The hotel said they sent a link via Expedia message, but I didn't receive an email directly from Trip.com, and I didn't receive anything other than the 11-digit reservation number from Trip.com."

"The location is a bit remote. If you take the tram, you need to walk quite far. It is close to the bus station. There is a small safe at the head of the bed. The bed is a wooden capsule with a wood smell. The public area is good. There is a self-service kitchen with complete tableware and many small appliances. You can make your own coffee, tea and other beverages. There is a public large refrigerator and a small open-air hot spring. The overall cost performance is high"

"The hotel location was great. We were in Hakone for the Onsen (hotel springs), and the hostel was near a lot of them. The staff was very helpful and enthusiastic. The hostel also offered an interesting diner, but we haven't try it. The building and interior was looking very Japenese traditional. Much appreciated for an immersive experience in Japan!"

"It takes about 10 minutes to walk after getting off the bus. We booked a double room with a 1.5m bed, but the space is spacious and there is a small balcony. We arrived at the hotel at around 6pm and found that the air conditioner had been turned on in advance, which was very considerate. It was just when the sun was setting and we took a beautiful photo of the sunset. The front desk will give travel advice and preferential prices for hot springs. It is also a bar where you can order various drinks and food. The guy at the front desk gave me a small card. I didn't dare to ask if it was free when I checked out. I can also temporarily store my luggage on the same day after checking out. The attitude is very good."

WWendaoA wonderful experience at Asante Inn in Hakone
This stay at Asante Inn in Hakone was full of surprises! The Japanese-style garden is full of Japanese Zen, and it is super beautiful to take pictures. The owner is enthusiastic and fluent in English. The African artworks in the store are unique and come from his African experience. The stories are super interesting.
Staying in dorm, you will meet travelers from all over the world. The atmosphere is good, and the price is 1200 yen per night, which is very cost-effective. Breakfast and dinner are about 1200 yen, and they are delicious and authentic. You can also make an appointment for private time to soak in the hot springs, which is private and comfortable. There is also a luggage transportation service at Yumoto Station, which is super considerate. I sincerely recommend coming here to experience a different Hakone trip!

JJinhuiIt really feels like living in my own home. The grandparents at the hotel are very kind. Although the communication is a bit difficult, the room has a small living room and bedroom. The space is quite large. Breakfast and dinner are also amazing. The location is also very close to the bus station. In short, the C P value is very high.

GGuest UserThe location is excellent being 2mins from Gora-Eli station. It is surrounded by private onsens and even some good restaurants. It’s a below average guest house without any lift or elevator. 2 flight of steps to the front desk and men’s and family rooms, 1 flight of steps to the ladies. It warrants a lot of work on cleanliness service and amenities to grow its image. The only saving grace is its excellent location next to Gora station and the ropeway/cablecar bringing you to Lake Ashi, Owakudani and many places of interest..

GGuest UserIt was my first time to travel to Japan by myself. I wanted to experience Japanese-style accommodation. I searched a lot online. Japanese-style rooms with plants outside usually cost several thousand RMB, and they had to be booked several months in advance. I was really happy to find this one. It met my expectations. It was a Japanese-style room with a forest outside. The children had a hot spring and everything was very well equipped. One thing is that the sound insulation of the Japanese room is a little worse. There was a white baby crying next door, and I heard it very clearly. But he only cried for a while, and it was very quiet at other times. When you go out, everyone is very polite and friendly. I just went there last week. It was dark at around 6pm. Check-in started at 3pm, so I planned the time well. When it was light, I went to the nearby convenience store. There are also restaurants opened by locals. The food is good and not expensive. I took a lot of photos and shared them with you. I hope it will be helpful to you. The room I booked does not include breakfast, but there is a restaurant inside where you can order meals separately. This is the hot spring town. If we go there, we will play first and then take the bus there. We will arrive in a few minutes after getting off the bus.

WWeitedingtaibuhuaThe price of Hakone Hotel in the peak season is generally not low. This hotel is near Xianshiyuan in the north. The boss is a middle-aged couple. There are few rooms, a terrace, a set of toilets, and the bathroom is the public soup downstairs. Because the sense of boundaries and expectations of Japanese service are not particularly high, it is basically acceptable. Old-fashioned Japanese house, walking distance of 711, dinner options are not much, eating a Korean barbecue, actually very hot.

GGuest UserVery satisfied. I booked a hotel with three friends because it was difficult to return to Hakone. I didn't expect it to be so good. There was an English native speaker at the front desk. The room was spacious and clean with a bathroom. There was no problem putting four beds. The hotel also has its own hot spring, and each room can be reserved for half an hour. The boss lady saw that my friend and I were staying in a room and offered to make an appointment for an hour. In short, it was a very happy experience!
But it should be noted that the hotel has no restaurant and is a certain distance from the convenience store. It is best to bring some food with you. The hotel's own store will be closed, and you can only buy some water and instant noodles.

In addition, the surrounding restaurants have a short business hours. If you can't arrive early, you can go to the supermarket to buy fast food. It is also delicious.

黄黄The hotel is located just off the big platform, not far away, just follow the navigation for a while. A relatively cheap store, good value for money, the store does not have Chinese, but the body language is enough. It is convenient to go to the big platform station for breakfast. It is difficult to find the best breakfast at the hotel. There is a convenience store nearby.
