Sincerely the most invincible hotel I have ever stayed in, good service check jn will take you back to your room to introduce all the items and operations in the room. Finally, he offered to take a group photo for us. The food is of very high standard and the portions are large. Outside the public bath there is milk ball soda ice cream free, the room also has many drinks and beer, the lobby has a 24-hour drink bar. The room also has free Bluetooth speakers and a telescope for stargazing. On the day of check out we would transfer to another hotel and offered to help us get our luggage to the next hotel and the shuttle bus would take us where we wanted to go. Shampoo and skincare Lots of different brands to use, and lots of snacks to eat. P.s. We upgraded the room to the previous level for free

The independent hot spring in the room is very pleasant. It is hidden in a bamboo forest. I also recommend the breakfast and dinner at the hotel. If you stay, be sure to include double meals. The dishes will be changed according to the check-in date.

Spacious and clean room, with welcoming service! We drove to Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora by ourselves arriving rather late in the evening, but still we were warmly greeted by their staff, who followed us to the car park and helped us take our luggages. Check in was smooth and we were in our room in no time! We asked the staff if there was any restaurant nearby and they printed out pages of different selections around the area! Since it was getting late, we didn't bother to go out for dinner, so we gave the hotel's restaurant a try, which quality took us by surprise! Dinner was pretty close to a fine dining experience, with good quality food and fair price - highly recommend. Breakfast was at the same restaurant and buffet style! Yum! The room was clean and spacious, however, the onsen was semi open and we were a bit worried people outside may see us. There won't be people walking right outside, but still fairly close to the gas station/ convenience store across the street - may have to put in consideration on which room type you'd choose.

Ten-yu is amazing. We were impressed from the moment we stepped into the lobby. The kind staff allowed us an early check-in at 1 p.m. and arranged lounge services for our three-day, two-night stay. While the breakfast buffet was exceptional—an extensive spread paired with bubbles and wine—the Kaiseiki dinner was a bit disappointing in comparison. We were fortunate to experience a picturesque snowfall that transformed the hotel’s surroundings into a postcard-like scene, and since we drove, getting around was never an issue despite the snow. The staff were thoughtful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

1. Convenient transportation: 4/5 By bus: get off in front of the 131 hotel, which is closer than the 130 Miyanoshita Onsen Station (the hotel is on a slope on the road, and there is a turn in front of the hotel to go uphill, so you don’t need to drag your luggage uphill at Miyanoshita Onsen Station) By tram: get off at Miyanoshita OH54 and walk for 5 minutes, but the tram station is also on a slope above the road, so it’s a bit difficult to pull the suitcase There are Lawson and 711 nearby, and it’s also very convenient to buy things 2. Hotel facilities: 4.5/5 Overall, it’s very good, and the amenities are all the standards of regular 5-star hotels, so I won’t say much. The furniture is American style and the design is very unique. If you have time at night, you can go to the hotel B1 History Museum to see the hotel’s history, including the hotel’s early development history, managers of successive generations, and the process of earthquake reconstruction, etc. The hotel should be the first hotel in Hakone to receive Western tourists. Many Western celebrities, politicians, and scientists have stayed in the hotel in history. The hotel itself is also a microcosm and witness of Japan’s history of opening up to the outside world. 3. Hot spring: On the top floor, the space is large and the facilities are good. Because we went there in winter, there were not many people, and it was basically a private hot spring. After playing all day, it was very comfortable to soak in a hot spring at night to relieve the cold and fatigue. Overall: Choosing this hotel is definitely not only about the facilities and location, but also about its cultural atmosphere. The garden behind the hotel is very large, and it may be more beautiful in summer. Unfortunately, we went there in winter and the flowers were not in bloom. There is also a hiking trail to Mount Asama. If you have time, you can walk around more and feel the cultural atmosphere here

Perfect
MMeng ChuanHad a delightful stay at the ryokan. The rooms are quite impeccable with the smell of the hinoki filling the room, it was quite heavenly. We chose the room with the outdoor bath. And given the cool weather, our bathing experience was amazing. The location was also perfect if you are making a trip to the Sengokuhara Susuki Pampas Grass fields, which is such a scenic spot and of which we enjoyed walked to and through in the setting sun. We also opted to have dinner at the ryokan, who specially made it Halal-friendly for us. What's most amazing to us regarding the ryokan was the service. We had a Nepalese staff speaking with us most of the time, as he was the best in English. He personally brought us to our room and even gave an introduction to the room, and what we needed to take note off. After we checked out, he enquired how we were making our way to the train station. There was conveniently located bus stop just outside the ryokan, so we were going to take that. On our way out, he drove out and stopped along the road beside us (good thing there was no traffic) and to our utter surprise offered to drive us to the train station. We found out that he was actually knocking off, but instead of going straight home to rest (before his next shift in the evening), he wanted to drive us to the station. We were exceptionally touched at his extremely kind gesture (as we didn't think it was hotel protocol to do so). Nonetheless, his actions left us a beautiful and lasting impression on the ryokan. Would definitely go again for the luxurious experience!

GGuest UserThis ryokan is perfect for people who want to experience ryokan for the first time but want something cheaper within Hakone area. Situated on the main road with buses to Owakudani and train to Odawara. I'd recommend catching the bus from Odawara to this ryokan since the walking trail from the closest station to this place is hilly and has lots of stairs. Main road is not very luggage friendly so pack very light when you're staying here. This place has very nice rooms with view to the river behind it. The view is spectacular when the entire river area is covered in red autumn leaves. Dinner and breakfast are very delicious, you will be served a range of traditional food from a la carte to dessert. You can also book your private indoor onsen FOR FREE. The ryokan also has an open outdoor onsen across the bridge for 3000 JPY. The only downside of this place is the main road is very busy as it's the only way for people to drive from Odawara to Owakudani. So local people take this road to get to Owakudani. Buses from this place will not stop at there in the weekend. Your best plan is to go to Lake Ashi first and take the opposite route to Owakudani instead. Plan your trip in this area very carefully because a bus trip that would take 10-15 minutes will end up taking you 1 to 1.5 hours.

TTimothyIf you have extra money, this could be a nice way to indulge. However, a word of warning. If you're arriving at Odawara train station, there's no way to get to the hotel except by the hotel shuttle. Taxis won't take you. And the hotel shuttle won't take you unless you've placed your name on the reservation list ahead of time. Nobody warned me about this. I'd read online that a connecting train takes you near the hotel, but this isn't true either. I arrived during a snow/ice storm and waited over 3 hours before I could get a ride to the hotel. The shuttle driver wouldn't let me on. I called the hotel front desk 3 or 4 times, but they weren't very helpful. I suppose this is the language barrier. They meant well. But regardless, if a shuttle reservation is the only way to access a remote mountain top hotel, it's pretty important to make sure your guests understand this. Once I did arrive, I have to admit the room was beautiful. The buffet dinner was fantastic but not included in the price of the room - a little disappointing, since the room is already so expensive. Lots of extra costs, so be careful. I received a really great massage in my room. The onsen hot spring was very nice, and free (included in room charge). Breakfast the next morning was also included in room charge. The hotel bar was closed, though. There wasn't much opportunity to socialize or meet people. I did check out the lake the next morning, which was beautiful in the snowfall. I'm sharing photos of that. There wasn't time to check out much else because I had to get back on the shuttle bus at 10:30 to catch my next train. I suppose if there hadn't been an ice storm, I would have checked out more of the surrounding area and appreciated it.

SShenmedoubujiaoshi1. Let me talk about the transportation to the hotel first. I didn't do much strategy before, so I didn't know how to get there. Thanks to the Ctrip girl for patiently answering many of my questions. To sum up, there are a few points: 1) Take the hotel shuttle bus: There is one bus every day, at 14:00, and it will pick you up from Odawara subway station. You can see the bus parking lot when you get out of the station, about ten meters away. The straight-line distance is actually not far, but it takes about an hour to drive around the mountain. I think this is the most convenient way to go. You can directly ask Ctrip to help you book a shuttle bus. 2) You can take the bus. But because I don't know where to check the timetable, I gave up the bus. Everyone says that the bus station is 700 meters from the hotel, but it doesn't feel that close. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk. You have to walk uphill and pass through some residential villas. 2. The hotel room is very large, and there is a small loft downstairs. The decoration can see the old money style. There will be a strong mountain breeze at night, but the hotel windows are very soundproof. It's just that our chandelier lit a faint light in the middle of the night, which was a bit irritating. It was fine the next day. 3. The hot springs are open-air and indoor. They are quite standard. It feels that there are more people in the morning than in the evening. 4. The breakfast restaurant and dinner restaurant are the same. It is right after entering the hotel lobby. The view is very good. The breakfast variety is quite rich. Adults are RMB 200. Children are half price. Compared with the breakfast variety, this price is a bit expensive. Because there is no on-site service for breakfast. 5. There is a bus to Odawara Station at 11 o'clock. We went directly to the outlet with our luggage. Because the road to the bus station is not smooth, we asked the hotel's minivan to take us to the bus station. It took about five minutes. 6. It takes 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the bus station. You can take a bus to Taoyuandai Station, and then you can buy a cable car ticket to Owakudani there. You can also buy a pirate ship ticket for Lake Ashi. They are all at that station, which is a hub station. You can also take a bus directly to the outlet. It takes about half an hour, and then it is very convenient to change to the outlet shuttle bus. I put the bus schedule below for your reference. There is a Lawson supermarket at the hotel station. There is also a park for watching Miscanthus, which is worth a visit. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel. Very convenient and quiet.

SStanleyThe house was clean and the owner was very nice. The location was a bit far away from the main road. You may need to drive a narrow path up the hill to the house, but it brought you to a lovely forest. We enjoyed so much during the stay. The environment of the house was fantastic. It was surrounded by tall trees and the area inside the house was huge. We enjoyed cooking at the kitchen which was equipped with various kinds of utensils and electric appliances. The Hi-fi audio system was charming which you should never miss it. It was an unforgettable stay and we would come back again in future. Cheers.

GGuest UserThis was a luxurious stay for us. The room was large and very comfortable, the private bath was wonderful, the buffet breakfast was delicious (and offers a variety for vegetarians); in fact, it was our favorite part of our trip and we wish we could have stayed longer. The downside is the hotel dinner is expensive and not suitable for vegetarians, so the hike down the hill daily for meals (and then back up it) was a bit tiresome. Definitely book the free shuttle service to and from the hotel especially if you have luggage, the “hill” it is on is in fact several steep inclines that are difficult for those less than moderately fit. Another highlight was the hotel’s commitment to honoring the UN SDGs and striving to reduce plastic waste. There’s absolutely no reason in this day and age for people not to travel with their own toothbrush and combs. If you happen to need such amenities, they are available for nominal fees, barely worth complaining over, as many reviews did. This hotel may be pricey, but it’s so worth it, and they’re doing some good for the earth, so the stay comes with more feel good feelings. We are already planning our next stay here.

Excellent
KkitekidThe exterior is in the style of a simple European manor, and the interior should have been renovated in recent years. The key is a traditional key with a long plexiglass room card, which is very impressive. There is a natural hot spring private bath, where you can enjoy the view on the hillside. There are massage chairs, TVs, etc. in the bathing and changing lounge area for you to rest and cool down before returning to the room. The service is very considerate. The breakfast is a Western set meal, which is exquisite and can be eaten as a breakfast. The restaurant faces the hillside and the scenery is invincible. We arrived very late, and the front desk was also very friendly. The front desk was also very friendly during the day, and they responded to every request. Luggage can be stored. The bed and tatami are very good, and the quilt is a duck down quilt, which makes you sleep very comfortably at night. The disadvantage is that you have to climb a slope to leave ”Gora”. There is a car to pick you up at 18:00 in the evening, so you can only climb if it's late. It's closer to ”Park Shang” and there is not such a big slope, but there is still a car at 22:00 on the mountain climbing line to ”Gora”, and there seems to be no car at 18:00 on the traction railway to ”Park Shang”. If you go late, you can only climb or take a taxi. We checked in late, so we only enjoyed the service of being sent to Gora after checking out.

Sstarriiesinteresting balinese onsen ryokan. service was great, i couldn’t take raw food and my husband is allergic to prawns and they took notice for it and didn’t serve them during our half board meals (breakfast and dinner). the onsen water is certified to be natural and we could read the details of the certification from both the hotel reception and room toilet. the private in room open air onsen’s temperature can be adjusted as well. however the room’s shower’s door was not completely sealed and we found it very chilly to bathe even tho there was hot water supplied as the constant cold air from outside would come in. hope the hotel can take note of this and seal up the showering area’s door completely to prevent air from exchanging during shower. it’s a jap-balinese fusion hotel, pretty interesting concept. we drove during our trip around hakone area and be ready to navigate through very small and narrow roads while driving to this ryokan haha. really very narrow roads. hotel also requested for us to pass them the car key when we returned to the hotel, and to pass them the hotel key when we are heading out, which we found to be a little weird to be honest.
