GGuest UserMy first experience at a ryokan. A wonderful place. The staff provides the highest level of service. Beautiful rooms. The hotel is a very pleasant place to stay. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully designed. The public onsen is absolutely beautiful. It was a beautiful night, and I just listened to the wind and counted the stars while there. Wonderful kaiseki dinner and breakfast. Comfortable shuttles to and from the hotel. Seclusion and privacy—that's what you'll get there, whether you're alone or with someone. There are so many pleasant surprises in store for you if you decide to go. An excellent choice.

GGuest UserThe service and dining were excellent. The butler service was spot-on, and we enjoyed a traditional Japanese breakfast and innovative French dinner. The location is a bit far from the station, but they offer a dedicated shuttle service. The room was spacious, perfect for a family trip. The private hot spring's water temperature was a bit high, so we opted for the large public bath, which was quiet and uncrowded.

GGuest UserCentennial brands all share a similar spiritual strength, inheriting a very old-fashioned tone, whether it is the guests or the hotel itself. The outdoor pool on the top of the mountain, the creatures on each trail, the historical museum, etc. are all very decent.

GGuest UserThe hotel's food is really delicious. We ate dinner, breakfast and lunch in the hotel and were very satisfied. The cost-effectiveness of the food is definitely much better than that in Shanghai!

AAnhao-SophiaSecond stay, the hotel environment is very good, hot spring is also very good. Meals, breakfast and dinner are rich, delivered to the room, but the barbecue and hot pot smell very strong, I proposed to eat in the restaurant, and applied several times before being approved. My companions were sick, and all the pharmacies nearby were closed due to the economic depression. The first aid kit in the hotel was not updated, and it was barely enough for emergency. The town is quite quiet, the forest art gallery and sightseeing train are still there, but they are obviously very dilapidated.

TTim NazarovWe were looking for onsen with private bath on the balcony and probably hit the sweet spot.
Unfortunately we had only 1 night stay, but it was fantastic.
Onsen is located at the top station Gora, where you can get from Odawara. That’s around 2 hours from Tokyo all together, around 3 hours from Kyoto. Last 2 sections of the way are going through a picturesque steep railway. Views are great! Be sure to rush to the front or back seats (doesn’t matter which) to secure a spot for nice photographs.
Private bath is fantastic, rooms are clean and spacious with a touch of ryokan style (tatami etc). That’s a perfect place to sit and relax doesn’t matter it’s sunshine or pooring rain outside.
The food was fantastic (according to my wife), however the options are limited if you’re not eating fish or sea products due to allergy or other reasons.
For Karaku team - I would suggest adding a signature wagyu set for those who would like something else. Selection of wine and alcohol drinks is superb. Free snacks and coffee are available till 8 p.m. as well with a view terrace. For those who like some regular conbini stuff - Lawson is around 10 mins walk with Miyazaki style trains passing by👌🏻
All in all, we wish we had stayed at least 2 nights as there are lots of activities around.
Thanks to Karaku staff for a warm welcome and tailored experience!

XXiaopangxieStayed at gen fufu. This hotel is the last one in Hakone. Fortunately, it is the last one because it is a bit far from the attractions in Hakone. Although it is only 10 kilometers, the transportation in Hakone is not convenient. The hotel is located halfway up the mountain. The bed is a bit too soft. The bathroom is stuffy because there is no ventilation. The temperature of the hot spring is high. There are water droplets on the entire bathroom wall. Overall, if this hotel is located in the city center, it can be considered. The breakfast is Western, but the taste is very ordinary. Although the dinner is a one-star Michelin hotel, it is still a little disappointing. The only classics nearby are the reed marshes and the Hakone Nemoto Hot Spring Town. Friends who come to Hakone for the first time should stay near Gora.

Very Good
XXiaopangxiePros: The terrace is very photogenic! The hotel is bright and spacious. It was my first time in Hakone. I could see a beautiful sunrise in the morning. The room was beautiful when I took photos. The facilities and equipment were relatively new. The highlight was the cafe in the lobby. There were a lot of coffee, tea, drinks, and wine for free. The juice was very delicious. The oat milk was also organic. Unlike other hotels, the refrigerator only had a few bottles of drinks.
Disadvantages: 1. The hot spring pool was not clean enough. Many places were yellow or moldy and not cleaned. 2. The hot spring was not constant temperature. It was very troublesome to add water by yourself. 3. In addition, the room was actually quite cramped. It was not as big as it looked. The toilet was very small. 4. The bed and bedding were really uncomfortable. The pillow was very small and the quilt was a bit short... 5. The partitions of the hotel were all made of stone. They were very hard. In addition, the room was not big. My friend's hand was scratched. 5. The food was really not delicious... too Japanese. Many things were very rigid. You must eat breakfast at 8:30. The waiter would go into the room and turn on the lights regardless of whether you were sleeping or not. When you took a nap, he would knock on the door repeatedly to confirm all your itineraries for the day. Time: departure time, use shuttle time If you can't confirm, just keep asking...
