The hotel parking lot is a bit far from the hotel, and it is a bit troublesome to get the luggage to the hotel when it rains; the counter service staff provides standardized services and does not feel friendly; the only point is that the location is moderate, close to the train station and bus station, the restaurant service staff has a friendly attitude, and the breakfast dishes meet the needs

We stayed in a shiny new room after renovation. The newly renovated room we stayed in was not ready for a bathtub, so we only had a shower in the room. They were kind enough to offer us the outdoor bath, which is usually paid for, for free, so we went to the outdoor bath ♨️ However, the building for the paid outdoor bath was about 100 meters away from the hotel itself, and the system involved moving around outside without a roof in room slippers and a yukata. It was a blizzard outside that day, and the snow was sticky under our feet... It was dark outside, and we were given a small lantern, so we walked in the dark, into the snow. On the way to the outdoor bath in the rain... my slippers suddenly got stuck in the cold mud and both my feet were soaked 😱 cold 🥶 The outdoor bath itself was a beautifully constructed bath ♨️ built in a separate location, with a spectacular view below, but on the way back, of course, both my room slippers and feet got stuck in the cold, snow-covered mud and sand, and they were squishy, squishy, icy 🥶 and rattling :(;゙゚'ω゚'): I immediately went into the large public bath in the main hotel building to warm up my cold body again. I think it's a building built 100 meters away from the main hotel building, with the outdoor bath as the priority, with a view in mind, so I felt it would be more valuable to make it possible to move there safely and comfortably. For example, renting out rain boots on rainy or snowy days... installing footlights to guide the way to the open-air bath♨️ building... I think information about the special open-air bath♨️ (for a fee) is a must. It's a real shame considering it's such a great facility.

Property is set in a very quiet and peaceful environment. Very clean and modern. Well maintained after its renovation. There are plenty of free parking space. Room is big but unfortunately without shower/bath - a big negative for the property. There are two common showers for the whole hotel which must be busy during peak seasons. I recommend the hotel especially during off peak season when you can use the public showers. Otherwise you have to use the bathing facilities in the onsen.

The hotel is atmosphere with a nice blend of the old and new. It is located not too far from Uonuma no Sato and have a complimentary shuttle service to and fro Hatago Isen opposite Echigo Yuzawa Station. The room is big and there is nice heated table area. The bathroom is nice but as with traditional lodgings such as this, it can be pretty cold especially at the bathroom area in winter. Dinner was served in a bento format at our room. I was a little disappointed that it is a not a proper sit-down meal at the main dining area instead. The bento includes two generously sized onigiri, appetizers, and four main items including a meat patty, grilled fish and braised wagyu. The onsen bath is also quite nice and loved the bath with the snowy landscaped garden. Service is generally good and there are snacks and drinks available at the lounge for guests. In the evening, there is also sake and umeshu available for guests.

Gaojian Plateau Hotel is a very recommended hotel. The breakfast is rich and you can eat different wild vegetables in Niigata. The water quality of the soup is excellent, and the relief effect is good for the soreness of the limbs. Near the golf course, for the golfers, you can play and vacation. It is a hotel that will want to visit again.

It was very convenient as it was easy to walk from the station and AEON was nearby. I often don't get a good night's sleep in hotel beds, but this bed was very comfortable and I was able to get a good night's sleep. There was no shortage of equipment, so I didn't have any problems. It was well cleaned and I felt comfortable using it.

The first time I stayed at a hot spring hotel in Japan, I encountered a super cold current and a blizzard, which did not affect the mood of this experience. From the reception of check-in, the room is clean and tidy, to the departure of the hotel, the counter staff helps to check whether the train has stopped and arranges a shuttle bus to Miyagi Station. The whole experience is very good.

VVvvvLlllVery good deal for Ski in ski out!! Room in building 4 is smaller than expected but no complaints with such discount. Restaurants inside are nice, but heading out to the village once a while is good too. The walk to village is like 10 mins and very do-able!

SSilverGeckoThis is our 3rd week of 4 weeks exploring Japan and so far Yuzawa Grand is the best Ryokan Onsen experience we have had. We could have spent several days there it was sublime. We arrived in the morning and the staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. We had been told by the tourist centre at the train station that the gondola wasn’t operational for 3 days; however the Yuzawa Receptionist assured us that it was operating and showed us that they were even able to sell us tickets at a discount. She gave us a map and bus timetable, showing us where everything was. They stored our backpacks for us and off we went exploring and had a marvellous time. We soaked our feet in the foot baths while having a treat before catching the bus to the mountains. We came back to our gorgeous room which had a coffee pod machine in it. Was so nice having a coffee in the morning looking out the window. We enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful Onsens before dinner. The buffet at both dinner and breakfast was incredible, everything so beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. Highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. The staff are fantastic and the ambiance very peaceful.

LLen VWe recently stayed at Hotel Okura in Niigata and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking the Shinano River, providing stunning views, especially during sunset. The location is very convenient, with easy access to the JR Niigata Train Station and Niigata Airport, making it a great base for exploring the area. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. We particularly enjoyed the variety of dining options available at the hotel, including a French restaurant and a Japanese restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We appreciated their attentiveness and willingness to assist with any requests we had. Overall, Hotel Okura Niigata offers a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and excellent service. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Niigata.

BBrandonVery nice place to stay! Quiet during the spring/summer period due to the area being more popular in winter. Very near Echigo Yuzawa Station within 5min walk. Was welcomed into the hotel nicely with complimentary matcha and snack. Upon check in there was even a cute Gachapon game in which you could win one of their special Niigata/Yuzawa stuff! I won a small pack of Niigata rice. Room was clean and spacious with a comfy futon bed. The public baths were so nice and well maintained! The staff here are very friendly and attentive. If you did not reserve their special dinner/breakfast set, you can still do say with 2 days advanced order over the front desk. I also love that they provide free shuttle to the station at check out upon request! Definitely staying here again if ever back in the area 🫶🏼

IIt’s AGood location, near Echigo Yuzawa station. No hotel shuttle bus to the ski resort (GALA), which is a little bit disappointing, as we tried another hotel that offers a free pick-up/drop-off service. Food was normal, it didn't really suit my taste preferences though. I enjoyed that pork miso soup the most. The women's outdoor onsen was meh; it wasn't even warm and had dirt in it. Everyone there, including me, only spent a minute and came back lol Indoor one was fine. There was only one intern at the reception, and while he was helpful and nice (thank you), he wasn't very familiar with the hotel information and procedures. Perhaps it would be a good idea to assign a senior staff member to work alongside him and provide OTJ training, rather than relying solely on intern.

KKoo MYIs a PERFECT get away for family and friends. Excellence value for money package with great dinner menus and setting. Room is spacious and functional. Beautiful outdoor onsen. Near all the famous skiing area. The only set back is the usage of lobby at nite, on the 16/1/25 we are allowed to use till 12am. Yet on the 17/1/25 night, the front office staff come over our sitting area and turn of the light despite is only ard 10pm and he is aware we are chit chatting and having a drink there... This really surprise everyone. The rest of the hotel staff is friendly and approachable. Except the guys working on night shift 17/1/25, I assume in the front office,.

GGuest UserHotel room was good and massive, facilities are abundant as well. The onsen is super spacious and it's thru the night. Food selection are quite a few but do try to get to Eki for more selections... Just take note of the last shuttle bus back to hotel. In all the stay was good, just need to take note that this hotel is only allow SKI in / SKI out... But NOT SNOWBOARDING.... That you have to take shuttle bus to other resort location thru its skiing shuttle bus services...
