The hostel was exceptionally clean and well-organized. The sleeping area was larger than typical hostels, providing extra comfort for rest. The high ceilings created a spacious and airy atmosphere, eliminating any sense of confinement. Overall, staying at this hostel was a very pleasant and comfortable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tidy and relaxing place to stay.

Beautiful small hotel in living area in Kyoto.
We had everything we needed, staff was so friendly and helpful.
Rooms are so cozy and comfortable. Insolation was amazing, we hear no noize from the road, sleeping so well.
Beds are truly comfortable, all techniques are so new and fresh.
But can't tell location is the best. To train station or bus stop you need to walk ~ 10 mins, laundry is out of the building and on the other side of the road. Anyway, everything else was so great, we're happy staying here.
Very nice hotel, location on the mountain can see the sea, there are hot springs. The service is also very good. If you don't go to the scheduled time for breakfast, the waiter will always wait for you and return to inform you. If it's quiet, it's suitable for a family vacation, no one bother, good place, very few meals around.

This hotel is really great and very-very clean. The things is I booked the hotel during Golden Week, so it got crowded but still having a nice stay. Kyoto Station is within 5 mins walks. The kitchen and public spaces really good and nice plus it has rooftop area which you can view the surrounding street from above. Things that I think can be improves are; should added more space in the cabin for bag and things, the lights inside the cabin was to bright and unadjustable. But overall great hostel with great service, accomodation and location. I do really want to have another stay here if I ever visit Kyoto again. But maybe will be upgrade to single room, hehe.
The hotel has a free shuttle to Amanohashidate station between 8 am to 9:30.
Location is 1.8km from station but directly sea view. If there is personal transport it will be great.
The bus from Amanohashidate station is 1 hour 1 bus, so it is a bit inconvenient. I didn't see a taxi.
When you arrive at the station, you should deposit your luggage at the locker (500Y / day with a locker) to go out: Viewland cable car, park, hot springs, boat terminal are all around the station.
The scenery is really amazing
The staff were kind and the facilities were good. I stayed here with breakfast included. The breakfast was delicious.
I recommend the soba noodles topped with grated yam and onsen*. And the navy curry was light and the meat was tender and delicious. Also, the music box in the lobby was lovely.

FUGA STAY, true to the meaning of its name “fuga” (elegance and serenity), is a refined and peaceful hideaway tucked within the heart of Kyoto.
I personally love hotels that are hidden away from the main road yet still extremely convenient—just a 3 to 5-minute walk from Omiya Subway Station and numerous Kyoto city bus stops.
If you’re into cycling or using e-scooters, there’s a Luup rental station right in front of the hotel.
The room is spacious and very comfortable for a solo traveler. It comes with two double beds that you can easily move together to form a super king-size bed. The bathroom is also large, with no sense of tightness.
The front desk staff speaks Japanese and Chinese, so communication is smooth and easy.
Honestly, I’m hesitant to praise FUGA too much—if too many people discover it, the price might go up!
P.S. Just around the corner is Tendō Shrine, only a 2-minute walk away. It felt like a beautiful encounter by fate.
FUGA STAY
FUGA STAY,

It was a stylish hotel.
There is no parking lot, so you have to use a nearby paid parking lot and walk a little.
The staff were kind and polite.
The room was clean and the shared kitchen that guests could use was cool, and the coffee that you could grind yourself was very delicious.
There was only a shower in the room, but it wasn't a problem because we went there after taking a bath in Kinkakuji-yu.
However, we looked for a restaurant within walking distance to eat dinner, but it was quite far away.
The breakfast looked very delicious, although we didn't order it. I'm thinking of staying here again, so I'll order it next time.

I have to say that this is the most comfortable and well-received room I have stayed in Japan so far! First of all, I want to praise that the hotel is very clean and big! ! And the pots and pans for cooking are all clean, so I feel completely at ease staying here! The transportation location is very good, and you can go to Kiyomizu Temple just across the road; secondly, there is a very local set meal opposite the hotel, which is run by an old lady. It only costs 2000 yen (cash only) for two people to eat very full, and the taste is also very good! In addition, it is also very close to the supermarket (I think it is called Ueda). In the evening, my husband and I bought sashimi and beef skewers at the supermarket and cooked them in the microwave at the hotel! !

I feel that it is far away from the lively fortress, and the subway is really far away. If you like taking the subway like us, I don’t recommend it. But fortunately, there are buses available, about 3-5 minutes walk, and taxis are also convenient. , so it’s not bad. The merchants on the shopping street are very kind. Although it is on Kitano Shopping Street, I am really only interested in supermarkets, small grocery stores, and convenience stores. The nearby famous attractions include Kinkakuji Temple and Kitano. Tenmangu Shrine and Nijo Castle are both very close and convenient, but Nijo Castle is quite a distance away. Those with children can go to ”Kyoto Aquarium”, ”Railway Museum”, and ”Umekoji Park”. It's very convenient to take the bus. It can be done in one go.

GGuest UserAlthough it’s a bit far to the Kyoto train station, if you know how to take the bus, there are 3 bus stops + 1 Shijouoomiya train station which are really closed to this hotel (only 6 to 10 mins walk), which can lead you to anywhere of the tourist spots !! 👍🏻 hotel located in a quiet street which gives you a well sleep at night. 😴The hostel of this hotel are helpful, they helped us to return our kimono via the local post since we are rush in time to travel around. 📤 They replied the email daily and fast, at the first day we couldn’t find their reception to check in (Just found out it’s a self check system that they had already sent you a password to your email earlier). 📧 They helped us to take care of our luggage after we check out our room, as we were going to nearby spots after the living. All the facilities and equipment are clean, you can tell they had mopped the floor, clean anywhere of the kitchen, restroom and sleeping room all the way around and leaving with no dust. 🪣👍🏻 my conclusion is, I will definitely come back to book their hotels, their signature brand “Risshisha”, next time when I come back to travel again. Once again, thank you for your 5 stars services !! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
VVeldaThis time I chose an apartment-style hotel, which is about a 1-minute walk from Exit 3 of Marutamachi Station on the Karasuma Line and a 2-3-minute walk from the Kinkakuji/Kiyomizu-dera bus stop. It is very convenient to reach various attractions. There are FamilyMart, 7-11, McDonald's, and supermarkets nearby. The room is spacious 👍, with kitchen utensils, oven, microwave, washer and dryer, electronic scale...all available. There is a large table in the room, which is a place where our family of five can go home every day to have late night snacks without being crowded. The teenagers enjoyed their stay very much and will choose this place again next time they visit Kyoto👍.
NNanjiazhoubuxiayuThe hotel was booked on the way from Osaka. I didn't expect the environment to be much better than expected. The staff was very friendly (and could speak Chinese!) and gave me a map of the surrounding restaurants and a tourist map of Arashiyama. And the luggage can be stored for free for 24 hours after check-out, which was really touching😭
It takes three minutes to get to the subway station, and it is also very close to Togetsukyo Bridge. It takes about five minutes to walk to the scenic area. There is also a Yusai Pavilion similar to Rurikoin. It will be more beautiful when the maple leaves are in season.
There are free coffee machines and microwaves in the public space of the hotel. You can sit and read comic books and TV. In addition, Halloween decorations have also appeared. There will be piano music in the public space. It is very comfortable to sit and drink tea and coffee.
Although I only stayed in three hotels during this trip to Kansai, this hotel is the most satisfactory one. I feel very warm when traveling alone. If I come to Arashiyama again, I will choose Mulan Hotel!
GGuest UserIf I had to point out something, it would be that the shared space was small and the price was a bit high for a capsule hotel, but I guess it's understandable considering the location.
SSinanThis place is clean and its in a good location. The owner of the place is always happy to help. He is the most cheerful guy i have seen in japan.🙂
HHuanlvbubuxingThe hotel is close to tourist attractions, which is very convenient and can save a lot of time. Although the bathroom and shower room are a bit small, they are just right for use.
The hotel is relatively clean, and the service staff can communicate in English and use translation software.
The hotel has a small public space, which provides a small kitchen and table for guests staying in the hotel. If necessary, you can buy ingredients and cook your own meals.
People can communicate together and inadvertently provide each other with a lot of information, which makes it convenient for sightseeing.
GGuest UserIt's similar to a Japanese economy hotel. It's quite small. It's very close to JR Nijo Station, and you can see it when you get out of the station. It is also very close to the subway station. There is a bakery, restaurant, and convenience store at the door, which is super convenient. This station is also beautiful, with cherry trees at the entrance of the station. Close to Nijo Castle, about 10 minutes on foot to Nijo Castle.
GGuest UserHave everything you possible wanted in a hotel when you go for vacation. Reception so attentive and assisted in all our request. Would surely recommend anyone who is coming Kyotango to stay. Colin Ang
SSue AnnRoom was clean and comfortable, but a strong oily, deep-fried smell filled the corridor and my room (703) throughout my stay. The fumes came through the ceiling vent near the door, making the room stuffy and unpleasant. I barely slept and had to leave the window slightly open in 10°C weather. I reported it to reception—they said it was from a banquet event—but the smell lingered heavily, and even my clothes and hair smelled oily after checkout. This was a really disappointing experience, as it felt like a ventilation issue. There’s no reason the oily fumes should have kept seeping through all night as if they were deep frying in my ceiling for 24 hours nonstop.
