Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach - North Beach

My daughters favorite hotel on the beach - and the extra amenities for families allows me to work from the hotel if necessary - while my munchkin still has fun.. she loves the kids club even at 10 y/o and the private mini movie theater because she can go ”by herself” since I am only a few feet away. The indoor lazy river pool is a huge hit - and clean and maintained. The outdoor pool is BEACHFRONT..almost in the sand its so well located. The few times we have stayed there the staff was always above and beyond helpful. Downfalls - The A/C units could use an upgrade and the breakfast spot needs some decor upgrades but the food is REAL (not ”pretend scrambled eggs” ) and well prepared and service is good. I wouldn't consider it a ”Luxury” hotel and the seasonal prices are equal to the fancy competitors but I guess that depends on how you define luxury - my daughter would choose this hotel over the new Hilton without question.

Checked in really late (around midnite but they held my room. I called ahead to let them know I'd be flying in late. Conveniently located on one of the major arteries, which incidentally conveniently ends at the US Coast Guard Training Center. I attended my son's training graduation but his checkout went long - probably because their NCO missed them and didn't want them to leave....so I ended up checking out of the hotel much later than the standard checkout time (11am - I checked out just after 1pm) - but because it was USCG related - they waived the late fee - which was greatly appreciated. The entrance was easy to park (it was raining) and checkin was really simple once we confirmed my reservation. The breakfast nook was directly opposite the checkin counter which made things easier for later that morning (included breakfast). The elevator hallway had a machine which dispensed junk food and sodas - but you need physical cash to use them. Elevator made for deja vu as it's a standard Radisson layout. The room was clean - no weird smells and quite large and spacious with a receiving room (sofa and tv) hot water pot for coffee tea etc. The bathroom was well stocked with towels but the body wash was weirdly located next to the bathroom sink instead of the shower - that was strange. Hand soap was nice and sizable (useful as a body wash, given the fixed location of the body wash next to the sink). The bed was huge (king?) with plenty of pillows and bedding (sheets blankets etc). The room was quite warm which was nice since it was cold and wintery and wet outside. Staff were all very very nice and welcoming and polite. All in all - most excellent experience from checkin to checkout. But it's the staff which make the experience smooth and enjoyable.
Sheraton Pentagon City

The shuttle driver to the airport was the highlight of this stay, which, as a Sheraton, should not be the expectation. The desk staff were pleasant enough, but when leaving the lobby to cross the driveway to the second building where the room was located, we saw the most ridiculous situation I have ever encountered at a hotel or even MOTEL. The entry was a split level, ten or so steps up or down without any ramp or elevator. Seeing as the clerk saw we were traveling internationally and had three massive and heavy suitcases, placement in that location was inconvenient at best. If I had not had my son present, there is no way that I could have lifted the luggage to arrive at the room. This does not even take into account someone with mobility concerns. The restaurant staff were courteous enough, but prices were insanely elevated. Vending machines were scarce and had different offerings in the main building and the satellite building. For example, my building had empty snack machines and the main building had soda machines and ice machines with no prices noted, and when a card was used, the soda was 4.00. All in all, would NOT recommend whatsoever. The poorest Sheraton I have ever stayed at. Unfortunately, I had told my family that Sheraton was considered a good hotel chain. No longer true if this is a representation. Sewage leaking in the parking garage with caution tape all around was just icing on the cake.

Hotel a bit dated. Been dealing with an issue receiving my deposit back due to a hold that is placed at check in on my card. Nice balconies available
The Mimslyn Inn

This is a lovely hotel! It's classy and elegant, and overall it'll make your vacation that much more special. The location is great, as you can walk to restaurants or other places in Luray. The Luray Caverns are a quick drive away, as is a Walmart and Food Lion, and Skyline Drive's Thornton Gap Entrance is close by. I ate at the Circa '31 restaurant for breakfast, which was reasonably priced (the menu is small with a few standard breakfast options). Free coffee and muffins in the lobby at all times. The Speakeasy restaurant is very good, and has various specials/deals each night. The bedrooms are small, but comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, with an area for bonfires and hammocks, as well as a pool and hot tub area. The staff is very kind and accommodating. A few recommendations for the management: ~Put mini fridges in the rooms ~Put chairs on the balcony so people can use it as a sitting area ~Something to provide more counter space in the bathrooms I recommend the Mimslyn Inn to anyone staying in the Luray area!

The hotel is really great, the environment is very safe, there are convenience stores and Burger King downstairs. The hotel has a free shuttle bus. The rooms are large and spacious, the facilities are relatively new and the front desk is very welcoming. I will consider it next time.
Hilton Garden Inn Reagan National Airport

Crystal City
Located in Crystal City, adjacent to Reagan National Airport, it is six or seven minutes away from the Blue Line and Yellow Line subway stations. Take the Yellow Line subway for three or four stops to the main scenic spots in the city, and two stops away from the Pentagon subway station. It takes a little longer to take the Blue Line to the White House, which takes more than 20 minutes. Overall, it is quite convenient. The hotel is surrounded by a new city, which is not very lively, but it is very safe. There are many fast food restaurants, cafes and hotels on the same street. The Hilton Garden Inn in the United States is similar, with two Queen beds (1.5 meters), American breakfast, laundry room and gym. Notes: 1. The soundproofing of the room is OK, but the even-numbered rooms face the street, and there are occasional noises of racing cars and police cars at night; 2. The room was booked with breakfast, but the front desk did not give me a coupon when I checked in. The next day, the restaurant waiter opened a bill of more than 60 dollars. I personally think that breakfast of 20 dollars is a bit expensive; 3. I went to the front desk to ask for a meal coupon and gave it to the waiter, but the waiter still asked for a tip because she served me (poured a cup of coffee! They put away the coffee pot, you can't find it, and serve you when guests come, full of routines! The next day I didn't give a penny, and had breakfast by myself); 4. I stayed for four nights, and the room was not cleaned up on the second day. Although I heard that it was cleaned up every three days, I asked the front desk and it was cleaned up, which was not bad. 5. There are blind spots in the sanitation. When I checked in, I found urine stains on the back of the toilet seat, which instantly discounted my impression score.
The Watermark Hotel

The WaterMark was amazing! The room junior suite we reserved for 2 nights was clean, organized, spacious, had an abundance of towels and bathroom amenities were elegant! We had a full living room detached from master bedroom, and a full kitchen also!!! Priced just right for a 2 night stay. This property is 5 stars for sure! Restaurant, mini golf, star hill brewery, food trucks, big play field for kids and family fun All rolled into one great hotel! The staff from front desk, housekeeping, and kitchen were polite and professional and went above and beyond! The property is very sophisticated and full of technology and the security measures are top notch. You have to experience it if your traveling to Tysons area in Va. The capital one hall is amazing and conveniently located and accessible from the hotel. More than enough parking! We will be returning in October for another weekend!!!
The Draftsman, Charlottesville, University, Autograph Collection Hotel

Beautiful hotel! Front desk very friendly, especially Latasha! My request for a quiet room was granted. The 6th floor in low numbers is good. I stayed 3 nights for work and my room was SPOTLESS! The mattress was firm, my pillows fluffy. I especially loved the slippers because I forgot mine. Upon arrival Franklin helped me with my luggage and on a rainy day my umbrella was in my car. He kindly gave me one. The only drawback was the Valet parking. They're very good at what they do but I wish there was maybe off-site parking. $18 is a bit steep, I walked to work so I paid for my car to be parked. The morning coffee in the lobby was very good. I didn't get a chance to eat at restaurant Ridley but the aroma sure smelled good. I would definitely stay here again. The lobby's decor and seating was very comfortable.
Hampton Inn Virginia Beach-Oceanfront South

My family & I recently stayed at this property, and the service was awesome!! We would definitely book here again!! To speak on why we would...One of the elevators was out of order, which is beyond their control, so to make the unpleasant situation pleasant; guests were provided with snacks and soda in the lobby while we waited for the elevator ... in addition to this dilemma, the water lines had to be tested, and the hotel was without water pressure for a little while; with that being said, guest were informed arrangements had been made so that we could use the neighboring hotel .... all the staff was extremely nice and I especially appreciated the security of ID check before a room key was given ... because there wasn't a hot-tub, I will give this hotel a 9/10 ... Wonderful booking
