I recently had the pleasure of staying at SYYF Li River Courtyard Hotel, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness of my room—spotless and well-maintained, it felt welcoming and comfortable.
The hotel’s location is another highlight. Nestled in a vibrant area, it’s just a short walk to a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops, making it incredibly convenient to explore the local scene. Whether you're looking for a cozy café or a lively nightlife spot, everything is within easy reach.
One of the standout features of my stay was the hotel restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with an emphasis on local cuisine that truly showcased the flavors of the region. The beautiful views from the restaurant added an extra layer of enjoyment to each meal, making it a truly memorable dining experience.
Additionally, my room offered stunning views as well, allowing me to wake up to breathtaking scenery each morning. What a wonderful experience for us all as a family. When we saw the room, we instantly felt comfortable. Their warm welcome made us feel like home. We can't wait to come back again and will surely recommend to friends and family. Their fresh breakfast was so enjoyable, made from fresh ingredients and also allowing us tourist to enjoy local foods and they were all delicious! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The rooftop view of Guilin Port House is amazing!
The 9th floor is under renovation, I thought I would miss the beautiful view. Fortunately, Miss YanHong took us up to see the view enthusiastically.
When you step into the 9th floor, you will see the construction site. When you walk to the balcony, you will feel like you are in a dreamland above the city. The view upstairs is very wide. The landscape painting of Guilin unfolds slowly in front of you. The mountains in the distance are like dark blue, and the city streets nearby is amazing. The layout of the building is exquisite, adding a bit of vitality and comfort.
Miss YanHong took us to see the night view at 8:30. The lights were on, shining like stars, this is a great place to relax, whether it is a couple hugging to watch the sunset, or chatting with friends to enjoy the night view (I chatted with YanHong, who I just met, for 2 hours upstairs).
Really enjoyed my stay !

Stayed for 3 nights at this lovely boutique hotel. The rooms are clean, modern and well maintained. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. I would recommend to friends and family.
If there was one thing to improve, I think smoking and non smoking rooms should be completely separated - the hallways were filled with the smell of cigarettes and it also filled my room but otherwise, I would stay here again.

This is certainly one of the best hotels you can book in Guilin !!
We loved our stay here so much that we can't wait to come back and stay again for our next trip to China.
Here are the highlights of our stay:
1) The hotel staff were all very friendly, especially the receptionist who checked us in when we arrived late at night.
2) The hotel building and our room are very clean and modern, with well maintained facilities and utilities
3) The view is simply amazing. Especially from our 270 Degrees View Suite on the 12th floor.
4) The spacious gym and pool (which is only for children) are also a nice addition
5) There is also a very useful washing machine and dryer
7) The rooftop area has some of the best views in Guilin
8) The location is fantastic and right what we needed, with quick access to local shopping centres and to parks/temples
The things we recommend for improving:
1) There is not a lot of privacy from the toilet area which can be uncomfortable
2) The bed mattress is a bit more firm than what we prefer
3) The complimentary water provided by the hotel doesn't taste very nice (but this is a very minor inconvenience)
Overall we can 100% recommend staying here and paying a little extra to book one of their amazing suites!

Finally, before the New Year, I took the high-speed train from Chongqing to Guilin to bask in the sun.
The location is opposite Guilin Vientiane City. I was a little worried that it would be noisy at night, but I didn't know that the soundproofing of the hotel was very good. As a light sleeper, I didn't feel any sound at all when I fell asleep.
Another treasure of this hotel is that they have a rooftop with a lot of green plants! If you rush to take pictures on the mountain when the sun goes down! You can take a photo of Manhattan with the city in front, the sunset and the mountain behind.
I booked a double bed room. The room was very clean and the bed was big enough to accommodate 3.4 people. I can pose however I want on it. All electrical appliances are smart voice controlled! Full of sense of technology.
The hotel also has its own swimming pool, Pilates, and laundry room. It’s really a good deal to stay in such a comprehensive hotel at this price!
The second floor is a breakfast room and a Western restaurant, where you can have coffee and drink at night. You can also have a drink when you come back in the evening🥃
The happiness of life is to be satisfied even if you stay in a comfortable hotel!

The accommodation was lovely. It's a small trip in to town. It's possible to rent electric scooters and go in. The room was very spacious, neat and clean. They left a small welcoming gift which was appreciated. There are lots of cool things to see in the resort area, as well as little scenic pathways to walk just next to it. Breakfast was okay. On the second morning it was late and most food had not been prepared yet, even though they said breakfast is served from 7am. Some of us were waiting for the food in order to leave early for our next destination.

The amenities were excellent and I especially enjoyed the view or breakfast. The location was convenient, close to 西街步行街.

Amazing stay at the hotel, highly recommended! Staff were friendly and approachable, rooms were cozy and clean, service was prompt and efficient! Views in the area were stunning as well. Free shuttle to 西街 made it really convenient too, otherwise can also rent a scooter to explore the area.
Special shoutout to 小薇，小顾，勤勤 for their help throughout. They were really patient with us and always checking in on WeChat if we needed anything. Really prompt and willing to help us with almost all our requests - giving us information on certain attractions when needed, helping us book the van/buggy between locations, giving us dessert, checking in on us throughout. Loved our stay here and would return back if ever in the area again. Price is on the higher end but for whatever is provided, you won't regret it one bit, it's worth every single dollar!

One of the standout aspects of this hotel is its location. Situated amidst breathtaking scenery, it serves as an ideal base for exploring the surrounding mountains and natural wonders. Whether you're interested in hiking, visiting old buildings, embarking on scenic walks, exploring caves, or immersing yourself in the charm of old towns, this hotel offers it all. The owner, Kitty, is not only fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese but also an avid hiker who has conquered all of the nearby mountains. Her knowledge and passion for the area truly enhance the experience.
During my stay, I found that the hotel's 2-4 days itinerary was perfect for fully enjoying the scenic places and hidden gems the region has to offer.

SSereneLike the location as it is smacked in West street. Views are awesome. Down side is that West Street is crowded and could be a little noisy as you can hear the music from the bars in the area but if you close the door and windows it can block out most of the noise. Also, a little difficult to walk on the cobbled street with luggages as car cannot enter West street so you will have to walk for a bit. Hotel provide free drinks/coffee/tea at the lobby. Plus point: my room have a bird view of the entire West street with the mountains as a back drop. They also have a nice rooftop for photography with pool.

DDavis LimAppreciate the upgrade by night duty manageress to their newly renovated room, which is spacious, which came with a huge super king-size bed.
The photo-taking sessions that were offered free exceeded our expectations. The shots taken were highly professional, tempting us to purchase beyond the free pictures that were allocated to us.
My wife was extremely happy with the photos and commented that the pictures taken were remarkable.
Thanks again for their great efforts to make our stay memorable.
Forgot to mention that breakfast, although it came with limited selection, offered surprisingly good local soup GUILIN NOODLE that surpasses many restaurant standards.
An added bonus was the free shuttle service to the dock where the rafting took place and West Street, among other destinations within the vicinity.
A gift upon our checkout was another surprise that delighted my wife and kids.
On top of all these, the hotel is situated near many attractions.

JJason CorbettWe had a very pleasant stay at Zen Garden Resort. The staff are very kind and helpful, and can arrange free shuttles to anywhere within 7km of the Resort (which is close enough for several attractions and Yangshuo town). The room was quite spacious and comfortable, with a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. We particularly enjoyed the incense and tea in the room which set a very relaxing mood. The Resort also offers a range of activities like breathing meditations in the morning and lantern decorating at night which we enjoyed. The restaurant was especially excellent for all meals, and even provide free afternoon tea from 3-4pm. The fat cat in the lobby, Baozi, and the small dogs were lovely to have around. It’s within about 10-20 minutes drive away from most attractions the area, but there are also some nice walks you can do around the Resort. A bit on the expensive side, but you will definitely have a good time here.

Location – the hotel is located 5 min from the Yangshuo city and yet in a more peaceful quiet rural setting. Its 5 min from the scenic area of the Yulong rivers as well. Lots of parking spaces if required.
Services – the services by the staff can be compared to a 5 star hotel standards. When arriving we were greeted well and were given options of rooms to choose from with free upgrades with beautiful view .See picture below. The front desk lady was superb with information in and around Yangshuo , bought tickets for us for several venues . Even borrowed us her own private scooter to drive around the scenic area. Breakfast was delicious and the cook was very generous.
Hotel- the hotel is quite well designed , although its small but the color pallet is quite soothing. Well furnished and the bed was really comfortable and clean. Slept really well throughout the night.
Overall , it’s a great deal considering the price and services and recommend it.

KKumaranHOW TO REACH: The local name of this hotel is “Wang Jiang” tower or building. This helps if you are traveling from Yangshuo Railway Station by taxi. I traveled with my friends – 3 families (with kids), and we are non-Chinese. Typically, several taxis are available at the exit of Yangshuo Railway station. Someone approached me who can speak English – so took a 10-seater. The cost is about RMB 20~25/person & takes about 40 minutes.
ROOM: Spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The balcony view helps, depending on which side the room is located on. I chose the front side view, which has both a river view and a mountain view.
HOTEL: Although the hotel doesn’t have a lift, the staff delivered the luggage to the room. If you need help at the time of checkout, they may help. But I did it on my own at the time of check-out. It is conveniently located close to West Street (10 min walk).
HOTEL-RESTAURANT: very good restaurant in 1F (vegetarian options as well!). It is very popular among the locals & we liked it too. But it gets very busy during the weekends. So, if the room is close to 1F, it will be loud till ~ 22:00.
HOTEL STAFF: All are very friendly and do their best to help foreigners. Many staff can speak English. In my case, YAWEN is worth mentioning, as she helped us a lot in planning our local trips. Even before arriving at the hotel, we had a plan. But our interactions with YAWEN (& her feedback) made it very convenient & time-effective for us.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: It is possible to book tickets for the Ruyi scenic spot, Silver Cave, Hot air balloon, Li-river cruise (from Yangshuo), Xinping (hot air balloon), Bus-trip to Longji Ricefields, & many more at the hotel.

EExpatThis is an absolutely beautiful hotel. As a solo traveler, I do feel that it’s good for one night to experience that design and pampering space. There are bus tour groups which go there and seem to work well with the KTV, Buffet meals, and lounging areas.
From my trip, I stayed for two days after the Chinese Qixing Festival. It was really nice to arrive and have access to the teatime snacks and desserts as well as the wonderful architecture and furniture design. The outdoor pool is nice, however the indoor pool charges 50 yuan because they offer drinks and snacks. The only drinks and snacks they offered were juice boxes and some fruit. One employee told me that there were cocktails available. The exercise room and yoga room were set up very nice. The shower rooms very clean. I would not pay for the indoor swimming pool in my opinion based on the drink/snacks.
The bar that is advertised from some user photos does not exist. Some employees said it was open, others said not. Management can communicate that better, as a lush hotel should have a solid lounge. The tea lounge does not have any alcohol drinks available, but rather decoration of wine bottles. The design is gorgeous though. One employee told me that they ran out of alcohol due to holiday, and another employee told me that there was a bar open which really was not. I simply went to get my own spirits when I wanted a cocktail (made in my room).
Other than that, everything in the hotel was fine. My room was really lovely with the exception of the fact that you cannot go out on the balconies and there is a smoke smell from the carpet. The hotel gladly gave me a an air purifier to help alleviate the smell. My opinion is that the power should be sat on before a guest checks into their room. I had to change the filter over the two days. It did not appear that the KTV was open (maybe epidemic), I decided to go hang out in town, but enjoyed the Victorian flair when relaxing.
Overall, the comfort, bathing, and relaxation was great. The breakfast is really delicious, and the service of the employees all around was impeccable despite the fact that they could not offer all of the amenities. It seems an OK place for families/photos as well since the property is unique. The 50 yuan for tea time was probably the most valuable, and the room service staff are detailed. The butler/reception very professional, Ayi staff amazing. Transportation quite easy.

Shortcomings are that the location is on top of the high place in the small alley and there is no car/ vehicle allowed to go into the hotel. Try to minimise your luggage as you will have to walk a long distance from the station to the hotel. Even we tried to ask the hotel if they can use an electric motorcycle to help to send our luggages out but it wasn't possible. So it was a bit of a hectic to go in and out with big luggages

AAleksandrPNice hotel, room is clean and bright, the hotel is pretty close to the location where you can take a boat trip along the Li River. The staff is friendly and kinda helpful.
But there are some issues that better to know before you go to this hotel.
Firstly, the hotel located in the village and the cars cannot freely enter there, we took a didi taxi from Yangshuo city and when we were 3 km away the hotel, the taxi driver started to argue with us that it's not allowed for taxi to go there, and luckily we insisted to enter and we showed our voucher to the police guard so they let us enter by taxi. If we believe to the taxi driver we could end of walking to the hotel with a big luggage 3km. And better if the hotel can warn of this in advance.
Secondly, we already knew that the rooftop swimming pool is not for swimming, only for taking photos, so we were hoping to take some good photos but when we SAW that swimming pool, we were really disappointed. The pool that you see in the hotel profile is only photoshop!!! The reality is totally different!!! Seems that they didn't clean the pool for a long time, you can see the photos below. They also wrote in the comments that you can swim in their pool that is on the first floor, but actually you CANNOT because the water is only under your knee in that pool. So it's also not what you are expected.
The last thing is we did mention that it's our honeymoon while booking the trip and the hotel didn't pay attention to this. We left very early in the morning and didn't have time for breakfast, the hotel told us before that they can give to us some snacks and they did not. Anyway they provided a free transfer to the train station which is very convenient.

FFaeMy first impression of Shangri La Guilin is that many staff speak English proficiently or at least the basics that are required for their job. I arrived an hour and a half before the check in time but they promptly checked me into my room without any long wait. My luggage was taken to my room by a bell boy whose English was even better than the front of the house. My initial thoughts of the room was that it was quite old fashioned and the interior design & amenities were dated in comparison to most 5 star hotels. The view however was exceptional. I could clearly see the garden, river and mountains. After my first night I was woken by some loud music. Though the staff tried to tell the dancers that playing the music was disruptive to their guests, they continued to play it which further frustrated me. I informed the guest manager Edward who was very helpful in rectifying this. He upgraded me into a much nicer room that he ensured me should be quieter. They also gave me complimentary fruits in the room which added to the nice gesture. This is exactly the kind of quality of service that earns them a 5 star rating. Carl at the front desk was also very competent and was very helpful when I had to pay for something through wechat.
The room I came with was a package deal that included breakfast, spa voucher, photoshoot and club privileges. It was worth the extra cost as the all inclusive club buffet during happy hour was filling and tasty (photo attached).
Breakfast was a Chinese buffet with a fusion of western basics such as cereal, toast and bakery items.
If you have the time, I would highly recommend seeing Kelly (English name) for a ”signature Asian” massage at the spa. She applied the perfect pressure for me and was very kind.
The photoshoot was organised through wechat and included 6 photos. The photographer was lovely and the final photos made special memories of my time in China.
Suggestions for improvement: several items in the room are in need of repair or replacement eg. old hair dryer that lightly blows air (useless), flickering lights when you turn it on and the phones. I also think if they were to refurbish the pools outside then the place would appear less worn down.
Overall, the service and reputation is what made this stay worth it. I look forward to staying at Shangri La again
