I had a great time staying at this hotel! Everything feels brand new and super high-tech — they even provide an electric toothbrush, which was such a nice touch. You can control the aircon and TV with your voice, and the whole room setup feels smooth and modern.
I booked a suite with a peaceful, green view. Some trees block part of the river, but I personally liked the added privacy and nature vibes. For my parents, I chose a 270-degree view room — it offers a much clearer view of the Li River. The room is slightly smaller than the suite, but the view is absolutely worth it.
Before staying here, I actually stayed at a hotel near Elephant Trunk Hill (象鼻山). That area was super busy and noisy, especially during the holidays. Compared to that, this hotel is on the quieter side of the river and feels much more relaxing. There’s also a beautiful park right next to the hotel, which is great for morning or evening walks.
The location is still convenient — you can walk to sightseeing spots easily. Plus, there are plenty of food options nearby, and delivery is super easy.
What really made the stay memorable was the service. I’ve lived in China for three years, and this was honestly the best hotel service I’ve ever received. Everyone — from the front desk to the canteen to housekeeping — was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Only minor downside: parking is limited. If you’re driving during a holiday, you might have to look around for a spot.
If you’re after comfort, smart tech, and warm, genuine hospitality — this is the place to stay!

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The customer service is amazing, almost all staff we have encountered with are friendly and helpful, especially the young lady who checked us in and also helped us with our luggage. The hotel is tastefully decorated with quality materials. The breakfast was very delicious with many selections. Areas needed to improve are 1)The hot water pressure is very weak for the bathtub in our room. 2) The plastic cover for the bathtub was nice thought but not practical.

We loved this hotel! The service is excellent, the staff team is trying to make your stay comfortable. You won’t miss anything here. They even have a area where the kids can play and feed with rabbits. The room in which we stayed is spacious, clean and nice decorated. The breakfast is good, there are many choices. Hotel is at walking distance from the elephant hill trunk and two rivers and four lakes. Reed flute cave is approx. 15 min drive from hotel. Will come back here again!

We stayed here for 4 nights with as a family of 5 (two rooms, one of which is a room with an extra bed).
I’ve written a much longer review for our other booking, but in gist, highly recommend! The services was impeccable and the view of the pagoda was lovely from the room. It was also really modern and the number of freebies from woodblock printing to foot massage and more really sweetened the deal. You could tell they also really cared about service - the guest relation manager even asked us during our buffet breakfast if we had any feedback for them! It especially helped that the buffet breakfast was really good, as well as the hotel restaurant

nice clean big room. Right next to the lake and sun moon towers and a night market. At night can get a bit noisy from music and noise from the street but it's understandable because of the touristy area and only get better after 10pm. Overall, great value and highly recommended!

The bed was very comfortable and the view was gorgeous. Breakfast was stellar and definitely worth eating every day. I will say the staff was a little overbearing when you come in every day. It got to be a bit much when I was just trying to get to my room and they kept asking me questions. Like are you checking in today? Would you like a spa? And I would have to say no it’s my second day here. Really don’t need that much attention every time I come in.  Also please don’t ask for five star reviews upon check out. It’s really a turn off and makes me second-guess the whole reviewing process when the hotel is asking you to give them five stars when a proper assessment is always beneficial to both the hotel and guests.

Overall a very nice hotel but I wouldn't give it 5 stars. In my opinion it's more of a 3-4 star boutique hotel. The room was very large and nice, with 3 panoramic windows to the courtyard in front of the entrance. No unpleasant smells, one window with mosquito net. The TV didn't work, meaning it didn't have regular channels connected. The bathroom very large but unfortunately without any heating. In my opinion too cold for a bath or shower. Leaving the door to the room open and raising the room thermostat to 30 degrees Celsius didn't change anything. Welcome fruits were very nice. Free afternoon tea modest, exactly as shown on the photo during booking. Amenities with too strong for my taste, masculine smell. Based on the number of seats in the dining room (only 24), I think it's a really small hotel, so the breakfast had a very limited choice and quantity, but it was tasty. At the check out each guest receives a pack of local tea. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is connected by bus 18 or 100 with Guilin North station but I don't recommend taking bus. First of all, tickets from Guangzhou or Shenzhen should work, but they didn't, and neither did Allipay. One ticket costs 2 yuan, and you can pay in cash. More importantly, there is no overground crossing between the nearest bus stop and the hotel. You have to use an underground passage [a lot of stairs, no lift], and with suitcases it's a big problem. In the other direction, from the hotel to the station, there's no such problem. Taxi cost around 0.25 euros per kilometer.

The room was clean en specious. But the view whoch wason the picture was not there. There is free selfservice laundry which was very convenient. The front desk was very helpfull. Xiao yang did her best to help. The wechat contact was also very nice. Ontlly when booking trips via frontdesk the wise card could not be accepted.

Great location right in front of Elephant Trunk Hill. We reserved a car pick up at the train station and when arrived, received an upgrade to VIP floor with a room that has direct view of Elephant Trunk Hill. We enjoyed the welcoming afternoon tea, and was delighted to see the welcome treats, free minibar, and took advantage of the VIP Lounge. The room was beautiful and luxurious, with a deep soaking tub, and upscale amenities. The staff were all welcoming and proficient in English. We definitely would stay here again and would recommend to friends.

GGuest UserA truly magnificent stay - highly recommend
Even before I arrived, the staff went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. I received a message the day before my reservation to call the hotel. When I called, they asked if they could send me a message on Wechat as they didn’t speak English. The staff simply wanted to know my eta so that they could turn the a/c on in the room to cool it down before I arrived.
The hotel is more of a BnB set up than a hotel - similar to a house design. The building is 5 stories high with I guess around 4 rooms on each floor. This makes it perfect to escape the large tourist groups which frequent bigger hotels.
When the taxi pulled up outside on the day of my arrival, 2 staff members rushed out to welcome me. Check-in was quick and they told me that they had upgraded me to a bigger room. They also asked me what I wanted for breakfast the next day as they had some different ‘Western’ options (think Chinese idea of Western but still okay). I was able to have toast and fried eggs every day.
The room is really exquisite - I came alone but would definitely recommend for couples as the bathtub is heavenly.
The two balconies offer beautiful views of the karst mountains. The room is also tastefully done up in wicker and white. And the bedding is luxurious. My only recommendation for the room is to add some sachets of instant coffee.
The pool is perfect for a cool down and what a spectacular view from the loungers!
I swam every day and every day while sitting by the pool, the staff brought me some refreshing lemon water to drink. In addition, every day of my stay they brought me something: day 1 - fresh watermelon and some blueberry thing (candy?), day 2 - baby tomatoes and more blueberry things day 3 - apples and peanuts. On checkout, they prepared a local snack and water bottle for the trip home.
The staff at this hotel really go the extra mile and just about bend over backwards to serve you. It’s been a long time since I have seen such eager staff and it makes for a very pleasant change from bored receptionists on their phones.
I cannot rate the hotel highly enough for their excellent hospitality service.
The location is also perfect - away from the main strip but an easy 15 minute walk to the river rafts and another 5-10min to the ‘town’ and a variety of eating options. That’s when you turn left when you get to the main road from the hotel (5min walk). Turn right at this road and you can comfortably walk (30 min?) to some other sites like the one with the hole in the mountain (overrated) and an exquisite cave - Dragon cave. If you like caves and the formations within I highly rate this cave. It is truly gorgeous. You can also rent bikes or a scooter 10m in front of the hotel.
The staff do not speak English but they communicate via WeChat and are more than happy to help with anything.

GGuest UserVery nice hotel with a modern but minimalist style. Good location with a wonderful view on the mountains, close to the river and one of the main roads. Service was excellent and the employees were considerate and nice, and tended to any needs we had. Breakfast has not a lot of choices, but the quality and simplicity makes up for it. The photo shooting they offer was an interesting activity. The photographer and the team were patient and took the time to make this an enjoyable and fun experience. The pictures came out very well.

EErikaAmazing hotel with a heartbreaking view. The location is super good, in the countryside but close to a few restaurants, shops, electrical bike rent, and some scenic spots but also at 10/15 min driving from yangshuo city. The room was huge, as was the bathroom as well, the bed was super comfortable and the bathtub with the view as the balcony was priceless. The staff is really nice and they speak English so the communication was easy. Breakfast with traditional guilin noodles was also super good, highly recommended

EearlgreykosongRoom was very clean, and toilet and shower were separate. Smoking was apparently permitted in rooms despite my request for a non-smoking room, but there was no smoke smell in the room and it was well ventilated with the attached balcony which faced the river and had pretty views. I had issues with the electricity tripping, but the front desk resolved this very quickly by giving me a card specifically for the power outlet in my room. The hotel had washers and dryers for clothes free to use for all guests and even an area with hangers and poles to air dry your laundry, but the time I was there, there were many insects at night (the hotel did put a warning sign at the door). The laundry also apparently closes at 11pm but I did not notice this until I was done with my laundry at 1am. The caretaker who did the evening rounds also did not chase me away and let me use the area until I completed my laundry.
The hotel was located near the Longtoushan pier where the Li River Cruises end and disembark. It’s supposedly a 3-5-min walk from the pier to the hotel, but the area tends to be very crowded as all the cruises tend to arrive together (~1.30-2pm). The stretch of pavement from the pier to the street is also very bumpy and not luggage-friendly, but you may contact the hotel to fetch you with a buggy but they tend to be too busy to accommodate at that time too. Apart from this timing, the street is generally very quiet. If walking at night, i would recommend bringing a torch light as the street is very dark. It’s also a 10-15min walk away from Xijie (west street) where there are many food options and souvenirs. The hotel has an attached cafe and restaurant too if you just want to chill in the afternoon. It’s a little pricey for this area but overall a good and comfortable stay! The rooftop also has very pretty views of the mountains and the river, and a great place for some quiet time in the morning!

RRosh12345Really nice relaxing stay! Everyone was really nice, Sarah was a really nice concierge and helped with activities and all the bar staff/ restaurant staff were particularly good! Shout out to Tom and his bar team for some really nice cocktails. Perfect stay to relax from hiking or just to enjoy the amenities, the modern retro architecture is so great to walk around and the private area by the river is nice to get away from the hustle and bustle !

AAnonymous UserThis time on my trip, I chose to stay at this hotel. The stay experience far exceeded my expectations. It was simply a pleasant journey for both body and mind.
The hotel is right by the Lijiang River. Standing on the balcony, you can enjoy the scenery of the Lijiang River. The architectural style of the hotel is unique. The decoration in the room is elegant, making people feel a warm and peaceful atmosphere.
The service staff of the hotel are extremely warm and friendly. From check-in to check-out, every link makes me feel at home. In particular, the reception staff at the front desk are not only considerate in service but also very patiently answered all my questions.
The hotel's facilities are very complete, with facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, and SPA, allowing me to maintain health and vitality even during my trip. I also participated in some special experience activities. For example, the SPA project reserved at the hotel made me completely relax.
In general, this stay experience in Yangshuo, Guilin is extremely wonderful!

You can buy local tours from them. The prices are much cheaper than Trip.com and Klook. The hotel also arrange transportation to Guilin, High speed train station at a very reasonable price.The services rendered at the travel and tour counters are exemplarary.
The receptionist are very helpful. They will try their best to assist you.
Everything is perfect.
The only one small complain that I have is the housekeeping didn't clean/wipe the mirrors. You can see some kind of mucus stains on the mirror left by previous guest (looks like someone has cough on it). It was left on the mirror for the 4 nights we stayed.
Overall it was a good stay and we enjoyed our stay.

EExpatThis is an absolutely beautiful hotel. As a solo traveler, I do feel that it’s good for one night to experience that design and pampering space. There are bus tour groups which go there and seem to work well with the KTV, Buffet meals, and lounging areas.
From my trip, I stayed for two days after the Chinese Qixing Festival. It was really nice to arrive and have access to the teatime snacks and desserts as well as the wonderful architecture and furniture design. The outdoor pool is nice, however the indoor pool charges 50 yuan because they offer drinks and snacks. The only drinks and snacks they offered were juice boxes and some fruit. One employee told me that there were cocktails available. The exercise room and yoga room were set up very nice. The shower rooms very clean. I would not pay for the indoor swimming pool in my opinion based on the drink/snacks.
The bar that is advertised from some user photos does not exist. Some employees said it was open, others said not. Management can communicate that better, as a lush hotel should have a solid lounge. The tea lounge does not have any alcohol drinks available, but rather decoration of wine bottles. The design is gorgeous though. One employee told me that they ran out of alcohol due to holiday, and another employee told me that there was a bar open which really was not. I simply went to get my own spirits when I wanted a cocktail (made in my room).
Other than that, everything in the hotel was fine. My room was really lovely with the exception of the fact that you cannot go out on the balconies and there is a smoke smell from the carpet. The hotel gladly gave me a an air purifier to help alleviate the smell. My opinion is that the power should be sat on before a guest checks into their room. I had to change the filter over the two days. It did not appear that the KTV was open (maybe epidemic), I decided to go hang out in town, but enjoyed the Victorian flair when relaxing.
Overall, the comfort, bathing, and relaxation was great. The breakfast is really delicious, and the service of the employees all around was impeccable despite the fact that they could not offer all of the amenities. It seems an OK place for families/photos as well since the property is unique. The 50 yuan for tea time was probably the most valuable, and the room service staff are detailed. The butler/reception very professional, Ayi staff amazing. Transportation quite easy.

Our recent stay at the Shangri-La Hotel Guilin was an absolute delight. While the food offerings were decent, the exceptional service from the staff truly elevated our experience.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Luna from Guest Relations. Her dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction was truly commendable. She went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially as we were celebrating my wife's birthday. The thoughtful room decorations and the delicious complimentary cake were a wonderful surprise. Luna's insightful recommendations for local attractions were also invaluable, allowing us to discover hidden gems in the city.
The hotel's well-maintained gym was another highlight of our stay. The state-of-the-art equipment and serene ambiance provided the perfect setting for a rejuvenating workout.
We would also like to express our appreciation to Catherine, our talented photographer. Her photography skills were exceptional, capturing the beauty of the surroundings while providing a mini tour guide.

CChee KinThe hotel is located in the centre of vibrant Guilin city. Reachable with Didi and within walking distance to Sun and Moon Pagodas, Elephant Trunk Hill, Love Park and the busy West Street pedestrian walk where you can find plenty of eats and other products. Local delecacies and fashion is also available.
The room was spacious and clean. Washroom was good too. The only disappointment was the aircond system. Even though it was really hot outside, we could not lower the aircond temperature at all. At night, the aircond stops and restarts all the time. Perhaps a system glitch.
Checkin was fast with Trip.com bookings and staff were really helpful with suggestions and directions.
Breakfast was nice with local flavours plus western touch.
Overall, a hotel we strongly recommend whenever coming in to Guilin. Attractions are near but let's start walking.
