If you're visiting Longji Rice Terraces and Ping'an Village, this is definitely the place to stay! Everything about it is great! The service is excellent, and the homemade dishes are delicious, especially the rice noodles – they're the best I've had in Guilin! For a scenic area, I think it offers good value for money. Two of us had dinner and breakfast for less than 150 RMB. The hotel also offers traditional clothing rentals for photos, which I loved! The owner is super friendly and even picked us up from the tourist center after we parked, and dropped us off again. Their cat is adorable and not shy at all! PS: The sticky rice wine is really good and surprisingly potent – I actually felt a bit tipsy, haha! Definitely worth trying!

Relatively cheap accommodation with window/balcony facing karst mountain, and just 100m from the Li River. Some nice Thai themed embellishments decorate the rooms. Bed is only a small 'double' and has one useable powerpoint near bed right side + light controls. Aircon works well (only small room so to be expected). Overall, OK for 100 RMB per night, but does have a few issues. Booked the 'special promotion' room. Trip.com indicates a room size of 12m square metres, which is incorrect. I measured it at 9.5 square, including the bathroom. If including the small balcony (2.5 sq m), the total room area is 12m best case. Only large enough for single occupancy, with small amount of luggage. Two people would need to climb over eachother to move around. No where near enough space for two - luggage would need to be kept outside on the balcony! Hot water works but is not properly calibrated. Either boiling hot or freezing cold. Extremely difficult to find the right temperature to shower with any comfort. I put full hot, and waited. Water got super hot after 40 seconds. Adjusted to reduce by setting at middle between hot/cold, but water temperature remained super hot. Then pushed to full cold. Water temperature transitioned to cold 29 seconds later. Then put back to middle position but water remained dead cold. Tested this both ways for at least 4 minutes each and remained either scolding hot or freezing cold!! Hotel provides signs to indicate desire to 'please clean room' and I hang this on outer door handle for two days, but to no avail So can only assume the owners don't provide this service. This establishment is only rated as a 2 star hotel, and given the low price point, you really can't complain - on the condition that the tariff is low. Acceptable for 100 -120 RMB per night. Unacceptable for much more than this though.

Choosing the Xianting Hotel for my Xingping trip was definitely the right call; the overall experience exceeded my expectations! The environment and scenery are incredible. The hotel is surrounded by karst mountains, and the courtyard is quiet and tranquil. In the morning, you can watch the mist over the mountains, and in the evening, enjoy the sunset over the peaks. It’s an immersive experience of the beautiful Lijiang landscapes, truly setting a fantastic vacation mood. The rooms are very clean, the bedding is comfortable, and the room service is meticulous and attentive – they're always there when you need them, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I have to give a special shout-out to the owner. They are genuinely kind and warm-hearted, and incredibly enthusiastic towards guests. They proactively helped with luggage upon arrival and thoughtfully explained all the must-see spots in Xingping, along with tips to avoid tourist traps. They were so practical and heartwarming, just like a kind elder from your own family. The location is convenient for getting around, and it offers great value for money. I highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Xingping. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Yangshuo!

Make sure to connect with them before arriving and ask for the exact location, it's across west street and you can take a ferry or book a taxi to take you to the exact location since the bus will only drop you off on the main road. One thing that stood out is their 24/7 home-like service. You can contact them anytime, and they are always responsive and helpful, which makes the stay very comfortable. They also offer 24/7 e-motor rental, which is a must in Yangshuo since it’s part of the local travel culture. Just a small tip — remember to take the umbrella attachment for the bike, the sun can be really intense. What truly makes this place different is the personalised, family-like service. The staff actually pay attention to your habits and travel style, and recommend activities that genuinely suit you instead of pushing touristy options. For example, one day we got caught in the rain while riding back. The staff had actually messaged us earlier to take shelter, but we missed it and ended up drenched. When we returned, they immediately suggested we take a hot shower and even prepared a pot of hot ginger tea with red dates, personally delivering it to our room. It was such a warm and thoughtful gesture. This is not a typical five- or six-star luxury hotel, but that’s not the point. The atmosphere is unique — cosy, warm, and genuinely homely. It feels less like staying at a hotel and more like being taken care of by people who actually care. Highly recommended if you value comfort, warmth, and a more personal travel experience.

All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; the front desk was quick to resolve any issues. You can even rent electric scooters directly from the hotel and book transportation to the 'A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains' scenic area, both at very reasonable prices. Plus, they offer pick-up and drop-off services for the Li River cruise to Yangshuo and the bus to Liuzhou, which was incredibly convenient and stress-free!

The courtyard environment is incredibly tranquil and peaceful, a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. The twin room was spacious enough; my family and I didn't feel cramped at all.
