It's a great choice for anyone who values scenic views and a pleasant environment during their stay. Although it's a guesthouse, the service and management are top-notch. You can arrange for the hotel's business car to pick you up and drop you off at nearby attractions. The hotel's lobby bar directly faces a stunning panorama of mountains, making it a perfect spot to enjoy coffee or tea and simply relax. A stroll on the hotel's lawn is also very enjoyable. They even offer travel photography services, but remember to book in advance! The breakfast offers a decent variety of both Chinese and Western pastries. Complimentary herbal teas, like Siraitia grosvenorii (luo han guo), are available all day in the lobby. The rooms are quite spacious and well-equipped, complete with a welcome fruit platter and a free mini-bar. Overall, it was a very enjoyable vacation.

GGuest UserThe room has a lovely wooden aesthetic, clean and incredibly soothing. Opening the door reveals a huge floor-to-ceiling window, framing the karst peaks like a perfect painting. Waking up to the sunshine and mountain views in the morning was just so therapeutic.
I could sit in the armchair by the window all afternoon, doing absolutely nothing but gazing at the mountains and feeling the breeze. The bedding was super soft, making for a really comfortable stay, and the thoughtful little details were impeccable. I honestly couldn't find a single fault.
If you're coming to Yangshuo, you absolutely *must* stay here. It truly gives you a whole new appreciation for the scenery! ✨

MMantuzhiChecked in on the seventh day of the Chinese New Year. The price was around 400, which was great value for money. As soon as we entered the courtyard, there was an adorable alpaca, and my child was thrilled. The room and environment were both very nice, and the location was excellent. It's right off the main street with plenty of food options. You can rent an electric scooter at the entrance, and if you ride towards the back gate, you'll reach the Yulong River with beautiful scenery. A pleasant stay overall.

The hotel's location is great, by the river and close to nature. There are the waterlily ponds around the hotel and you can hear the delightful little frogs croaking at night. The staff are very friendly and helpful with all requests, and the hotel's interior is clean and beautifully designed. GGuest UserFirst off, the butler was incredibly welcoming! They upgraded our room, sent us the location, and even let us pre-order from the menu. Plus, free parking was a huge bonus, making it super convenient for self-drivers. The location is great too – within walking distance to the pier and that popular '20 yuan' photo spot. As we were leaving, they even gave us two lo han guo – haha!

PPececilloveraniloThis hotel is truly wonderful. Beautiful, spotlessly clean, and very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, the location is great (just 20 minutes from Yangshuo and right next to a scooter rental place, perfect for exploring the rice terraces and river area), and the staff are generally very friendly and attentive. They also offer many activities for families or friends. We did the dumpling cooking class.
The food on the menu is varied, reasonably priced, and tasty. Breakfast was included, but they told us on arrival it was only Chinese (even though they had advertised both Chinese and Western). They don't let you pay the difference to change, so if you don't like the Chinese breakfast, you just lose the money.
Now, about the bad part: our whole family and another family staying at the hotel got food poisoning from something we ate at the hotel. I want to be clear – getting sick can happen anywhere, it's an accident, and I don't blame the hotel for that. What disappointed us was that nobody took responsibility or even made a small gesture of apology. A simple ”sorry” would have made a big difference.
That said, despite this bad luck, I would still return to this hotel because everything else was absolutely lovely.

GGuest UserAfter browsing dozens of guesthouses on the platform, we finally settled on ShanShui BieYuan Guesthouse. I read a lot of reviews before making a decision, and while there were good and bad ones, I can confirm it's truly worth it! Our family trip found this place to be excellent value for money. There's so much for kids to do: they can try 'Touhu' (pitch-pot game), make lacquer fans – my child was so proud of their handmade fan! The calligraphy experience, writing blessings, was also a nice touch. They also offer Hanfu, Qipao, and Guangxi Zhuang ethnic costume experiences. The room size was just right for us, feeling very cozy and welcoming. It was spotlessly clean, every corner was immaculate, and the attention to detail truly showed they care for their guests. From the front desk manager to the auntie who cooks breakfast, everyone was incredibly warm and friendly, always greeting us and asking how we were. The courtyard is super photogenic, and there's a small boat you can paddle. You can spend a whole day just feeding and catching fish in the courtyard. We relaxed on the tea table on the second floor, letting the kids play freely – it was so relaxing! Just sipping tea and reading a book made for a perfect holiday. The day we checked in, there was even a teacher hired to teach many foreigners traditional Chinese crafts, which was very cool and authentic. Both older guests like us and the foreigners really enjoyed the traditional Chinese style. The hotel has a very large parking lot, complete with charging stations. Next to the parking lot is a lawn where you can play, swing on a swing, or even camp. It's super convenient for sightseeing: a 15-minute drive to Qian Gu Qing Scenic Area and the Liu Sanjie performance theater, and only 20 minutes to Ruyi Peak Scenic Area and Silver Rock Cave. Didi (ride-hailing) cars are readily available and pick you up right at the entrance. The hotel is also just 170 meters from the Qing'e Ferry Pier rafting point. Electric bikes are available for rent at the hotel entrance – 30 yuan a day in low season, 50 yuan for half a day in high season. Renting one lets you cycle to the Ten-Mile Gallery and Yulong River Scenic Area in just 5 minutes. The Guilin rice noodles for breakfast were delicious and chewy, very clean and hygienic – I had two bowls! They also had dumplings, congee, corn, sweet potatoes, soy milk, steamed buns, and some pickled vegetables. I was incredibly satisfied and full! We'll definitely come back next time; my child had such a memorable time they didn't want to leave.

1. The hotel boasts an excellent location, although it's quite a distance from the city center. If your plan includes visiting Yangshuo West Street, it's a considerable journey from here, so you might consider dedicating a separate day to each area. However, for exploring the Li River scenic attractions, this hotel's location is ideal and highly recommended.
2. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the bamboo raft boarding point for the iconic 20-yuan banknote scenery. The hotel also has EV charging stations right outside, which is very convenient for electric car owners.
3. Electric scooters are available for rent just across the street, making it easy to visit nearby ancient towns. Fruits there are incredibly cheap, and the ancient town experience is fantastic.
4. The staff provide very warm and welcoming service. Guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool on the ground floor. We noticed that staff proactively turned on the lights as soon as it got dark.
5. There's a great photo-op spot on the rooftop.
Cons:
1. We stayed in a family room with one large bed and one small bed, arranged in a rectangular layout. The TV was awkwardly placed between the foot of both beds, making it practically impossible for anyone to watch comfortably.
2. The wardrobe next to the small bed was not secured, posing a safety hazard. When our child opened the empty wardrobe, it nearly toppled over. Thankfully, my husband reacted quickly and managed to stop it, preventing a potential accident.
3. The food at the hotel restaurant didn't quite live up to the positive reviews. The beer fish was mediocre, and the bamboo rice was notably hard. Overall, we weren't very satisfied with the dishes we tried.

The room's cleanliness was impressive; the floors and bathroom areas were well-cleaned, and the bedding was neat and tidy. Amenities like the air conditioning, water supply, and Wi-Fi all worked stably without any issues. The bathroom had a good wet/dry separation, and the toiletries provided were comprehensive.
The hotel's public areas were clean, and the hallway soundproofing was decent, so my rest at night wasn't significantly disturbed by noise. The breakfast buffet offered a reasonable variety of fresh food, meeting everyday dining needs. The hotel's location is convenient for getting around, with good dining and transportation options nearby.
There were no hidden charges throughout my stay, and the overall value for money met my expectations. It's suitable for both business trips and short leisure stays. I would definitely consider staying here again if I visit this area in the future and would recommend it to friends and colleagues.

GGuest UserI stayed in the panoramic king room at That Year May B&B, and it was truly excellent! Yesterday, the clear sky offered stunning views of the karst mountains and sunset, and today, the light rain transformed the landscape into a misty wonderland – both experiences were incredibly worthwhile. The room was clean, very quiet at night, and the morning air was fresh. Opening the curtains felt like looking at a painting. The service was down-to-earth and made me feel right at home. The courtyard is large and beautiful, and it's only a 7-minute drive to West Street and Ten-Mile Gallery. A genuine experience, highly recommended!
