Yangshuo Homestays

You need to take a 5 yuan/person ferry from the ancient town pier. The transportation cost will be a little more expensive than living in the ancient town, but the environment is really quiet, and the 360-degree glass mountain view from the restaurant on the 6th floor is amazing. We booked a loft suite on the first floor. The room was very neat and clean, with a small yard, and the hair dryer was a Dyson [wit][wit]. There are large floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the second floor and above, surrounded by bamboo forests, so you can take photos of large films at will. The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic and invited us to come back in May or June next year. The bamboo forest is full of fireflies [Wow] [Wow] After the transition, a young man drove a pink battery car to pick up and drop off at the pier. The service was very considerate. Before leaving, I was given a souvenir, Guilin specialty mung bean cake. We will come again next time!

This place comes highly recommended. The hotel is situated on a quiet street one block north of West Street, quickly accessible to the Li River piers. The hotel owner and staff (and the pet dog) are very welcoming, giving valuable advice to be able to take full advantage of the sights in and around Yangshuo. They connected me to a cheap scooter rental place and even helped arrange transportation back to Guilin. Even though it is a hotel, it felt like a homestay experience. Rooms are very clean, newly renovated, warm showers, and a working AC/heater. They even offer to carry your luggage up the stairs, as this building doesn't have an elevator. I am definitely staying here again when I return. Thank you!

I was so impressed with the customer service that this hotel has to offer. Before my arrival, Allen (main staff at the hotel) took care of me by asking for my flight information and arranged a car to pick me up from the airport. After a long hours of traveling, this makes life so much better! Allen also arranged trips for me the next day. He asked what I like to do, then the plan was made just like that. The hotel also can provide a car for you to go to places. My driver, Mr. Bin, was wonderful! He is very polite and kind. I highly recommend this service. The room is huge! Wifi was great. Never had any problems during my stay. The hotel has it’s own restaurant so you can order food for there. Overall I was very happy with my time at this hotel and Yangshao! Thank you so much!

I had a very happy stay. The front desk lady and the brother were very enthusiastic. They would share the surrounding attractions and restaurants. They greeted me happily every day. During the conversation, I learned that this was the brother's own business and he would definitely run it with care. The small courtyard was very comfortable, the room was very clean, and the daily necessities were of relatively high quality. The front desk lady would try her best to meet any needs. The location was relatively good. There was a comprehensive pier outside, and it was also very convenient to take a sightseeing bus.

Great spot along the road. Balcony overlooking the road, river and karst mountains was a great place to relax. Upon arrival the front desk service was friendly, helpful and efficient. While we didn't try the restaurant in the hotel, the surrounding food options were delicious, especially the restaurant across the road, set directly next to the river. The swimming pool is more of a sitting pool. A kid friendly climbing wall is right next to the alpaca den, and was very popular with the families we saw. Many scooter and scooters +sidecar were available for rent, which you should take advantage of. The next 8km of road upriver, and further, is well worth exploring.

The boss lady is awesome! Since it is the March 3rd festival, 50 pounds of fresh mandarin oranges are prepared in the store for us to eat as much as we can! What a surprise! The tangerines are delicious, better than those sold in the market, and should be of top quality. The store also offers hot tea 24 hours a day, which is very considerate. Very comfortable stay! A great trip!

I liked the hotel building and the interior so much that I regretted making a reservation only for one night. When I stayed there, I understood why Westerners prefer this hotel. All the staff were kind, the food was delicious, and the menu was diverse. If I ever come back to Yangsu-oh, I would definitely like to stay. And personally, I would like to thank Alice (?) who was a fluent English employee who helped me give first aid when my husband fell and got injured.

Sister Chen at the front desk of the hotel is friendly and helpful. The room is clean and tidy. The price is very affordable and cost-effective. When the weather is good, the scenery is particularly beautiful when taking photos on the balcony! You can walk to the Li River in just 1 minute, where you can play in the water, take photos, and relax. Friends play cards, drink, and brag. You won't get tired of it even if you stay there for 3 days. You can also swim downstairs in the Li River in the evening. We stayed very late in the ancient town, and Xiao Chen would go to the pier to pick us up and drop us off. Special thanks 🙏 It’s a very warm hotel~ I heard from Xiao Chen that there will be fireflies in May and June, and I will definitely come back next year !

The weather has not been very good these two days. When we went out, the young lady would remind us to take our umbrellas. After walking around for a while, it really started to rain. When we returned to the lobby, the young lady gave us hot water, which was very heart-warming.

Truthfully, I am having time finding words, and that's unusual for me. I must admit I was disappointed when Yangshuo Mountain Retreat cancelled my booking because of a wedding that had booked the place, but the photos of the garden sold me. I've been to Yangshuo perhaps five times over the last 10 years, and have stayed in every kind of place there-from a cheap hostel to the boutique rooms but my dream was to stay at YMR, where I always stop and have a whiskey by the river. When we pulled into Liqui Town, I realized I had not explored this part of the valley and was disoriented. But then the staff greeted us, carried in our bags, gave us tea, peanuts, and oranges, and set to taking care of our every need. They were this way with us from start to finish-sending us off with a bag of fresh mandarin oranges and hugs-and a promise to send an invoice for our remaining expenses-which we still have not gotten! Apart from the wonder of just those details, the food was exquisite, our farmhouse room was stylish and simple yet so thoroughly Chinese-in the most real and unassuming way. It was an honor and a pleasure to sip tea in the farmhouse and look at the many woodcut posters and Chinese propaganda songs on the walls while staring up from the tea table to the simply elegant clay tile roof resting on the original beams, feeling the mud bricks breathe out their history silently under a soft rain and the early crows of the neighborhood roosters. I If one is quiet and still, I believe this little gem will give up her secrets, her history, and the story and true feeling of old-time village life amongst the stunning splatters of karst and water. We enjoyed watching the staff use the traditional well to clean up around the property, and the garden did not disappoint. Truly magical and filled with bonsai that some local master has been enjoying for many years. The food was excellent. We spoke with some Chinese tourists on the way out who were very disappointed with the local version of beer fish, ah but ours was exquisite, along with the drinks and italian food. It's very rare to find this mix of culture, authenticity, generosity, and good service all wrapped into a package that does nearly guarantee the fulfillment of the motto the girls wear on their shirts, ”be inspired....” I would recommend this to anyone. 谢谢你们！
