New Hotels in Seoul

"The biggest plus is its location, right by Jonggak Station and Jongno 2-ga. Airport bus 6002 drops you off directly at Jongno 2-ga, and it's also quite close to Seoul Station, so taking the AREX and then transferring works too. The surrounding area has excellent amenities – there's a Daiso right downstairs and several Olive Young stores nearby. The backstreets are a food paradise, offering tons of late-night snack options. The hygiene is good, and the bunk beds are quite spacious. The bathroom and shower are also acceptably clean, though they aren't cleaned frequently, so it relies on guests to maintain them. The lounge offers capsule coffee and ice, but not much else."

"Everything was simply excellent! For breakfast, they had cereal, yogurt, and toast – perfect! The staff were incredibly responsive; they always helped with everything and explained anything unclear, or resolved any issues. For 9 days, this felt like home, and I'm very happy about that! I highly recommend it. The shower and toilet were clean. You can tell the hostel recently opened because everything is brand new. It's an excellent option for solo travelers looking for value for money. Each capsule has an outlet, so if you don't feel like leaving your capsule, you're all set (for isolation, that is). The location is fantastic, right on 'Youth Street' – you step out and you're immediately in a pedestrian area, the very center of Seoul. The subway and buses are very close by. The soundproofing in the capsules is decent, but I was lucky with my neighbors; they were quiet people. Overall, I made the right choice, so I'm happy to write this review, even though I rarely do."

"Stay at SL Myeongdong for 3 nights. Location is quite good, in between Myeongdong and ChungMuro station (~6 mins walk). Airport bus stops for 6001 and 6015 located near the two stations. Frontdesk is efficient and friendly. Room is bright, relatively small but equipped with washing machine, dryer and a full-size fridge. Bed was comfy, but pillows were too soft. Hotel is new but the cleaning/maintenance can be better, cos some marks can be seen on the tiles. On the first night, we noticed a bit of blood stain on the side of the bedsheet, which they promptly changed after feedback. Overall a good place to stay in Seoul near Myeongdong."

"I stayed at this hotel while visiting Korea for a health check-up at Korea University Guro Hospital, and my first impression was excellent thanks to the incredibly kind front desk staff. Since I needed to drink a lot of water for my colonoscopy preparation, they generously provided plenty of bottled water and showed such warm hospitality throughout my stay. I stayed in Room 803, and the small private balcony with a beautiful city view was absolutely wonderful. I stayed with my mother, and the bedding was so clean and comfortable that I was able to forget my worries about the health check-up the next day and sleep very peacefully. Another thing I really appreciated was the taxi stand located right outside the hotel. Since I did not have a Korean phone number, it was difficult to call Kakao Taxi, so having taxis readily available made everything so convenient. It only cost about 5,800 won to comfortably get to Korea University Guro Hospital. Thank you again for the kindness and wonderful service. I would gladly stay here again in the future."

"My daughter's first trip to Korea, so I went with her. It's super convenient for sightseeing in Dongdaemun. There are also restaurants on the first floor and a convenience store nearby, so you won't have any trouble. I was a bit confused because the sign outside still had the old hotel name, but I figured it out quickly. The hotel staff were really great too. It seems like the lower floors are still under renovation, but it didn't bother us at all. The room is compact, with only enough space to open one small suitcase, but since we were just sleeping there, it was fine. Having outlets above the bed was a big plus. The bathroom facilities were also good, with excellent water pressure. There's no one at the front desk at night, but if you needed anything, you could just grab it from the entrance. It felt like you could connect with them via LINE if you had any issues (though we didn't have any, so we didn't contact them). I'd definitely want to stay here again if I travel to Korea alone."

"The room isn't very spacious, so if you're not with someone you're very comfortable with, you might be bothered by things like toilet sounds. There's also no elevator up to the 4th floor, which I imagine would be tough if you had a suitcase. I didn't use the hotel shower since I bathed after my body scrub, but it's integrated with the toilet, so again, that might be an issue for some. However, the hotel is right next to the station! The bus stop is also close, and there were cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby, which was really convenient!"

"The location is excellent, right next to Lotte World, and a 10-minute walk from Myeongdong and Shinsegae. For the price, the rooms are quite large, and the newly renovated facilities are clean. The front desk has a Chinese check-in page, but the room's central control and TV only have English and Korean language options, and the TV screen mirroring kept disconnecting (I'm not sure if it was a problem with our operation). It seems their ability to accommodate Chinese guests needs improvement, but that's understandable given it's newly opened. The service attitude was still very good."

"This was my daughter's first trip to Korea, right after she graduated from high school. The hotel was quick and polite in responding to my email inquiries. We were able to leave our luggage secured in the stairwell (though I was a bit worried leaving it unattended for a while) and head out for sightseeing. The location was super convenient, on the 3rd or 4th floor, roughly across from the Starbucks at the post office. There was a new building under construction right in front of us. When we checked in, a staff member was there to help us with our luggage. On the way out, I had a lot of bags and had to make two trips, which was tough, but it's great that there's a 7-Eleven a few doors down and plenty of other convenience stores, plus it's right off the main street, so no complaints there. I felt safe even coming back late at night. The double-glazed windows kept the outside noise out, but since our room was near the stairwell entrance on the 3rd floor, we could hear other guests locking and unlocking their doors in the hallway, which was a bit bothersome. The shower worked fine without any issues, though the water tended to pool a bit at our feet. It was nice to have shared towels and water available, and the amenities were well-stocked, the hairdryer had good power, and the tea and kettle were appreciated. The refrigerator, however, didn't work; it wouldn't cool anything. I managed by putting ice from 7-Eleven in a cooler bag for yogurt and drinks. We pushed the twin beds together and had a comfortable 'girls' night,' feeling right at home. The price was reasonable, the location was convenient, and there wasn't a large lobby like in bigger hotels, so we could get to our room quickly. The compact layout, with the restroom right nearby, was actually a relief for our tired feet after a lot of walking. There was no room cleaning service. We learned to hang towels in the bathroom to keep the floor from getting wet and uncomfortable. It's also a good idea to put trash bins and slippers outside the room. The self-service check-in/check-out machine was great, allowing us to do it at our own pace. I'd definitely want to stay here again."

"I was a bit worried because of the low price, but it turned out to be a clean and comfortable stay. Even though it was a Saturday, it didn't feel overly crowded, and the shared lobby was spacious and comfortable for everyone. The free coffee was also a nice touch. The shower rooms were clean with 5 stalls, and they made sure to restock towels both day and night, so I never had an issue. Toothbrushes and razors were also available in the shower rooms. Security was good; you needed a security card to enter each floor, and there were dial-code security boxes at the entrance and in the bedrooms, which gave me peace of mind. The bedrooms were quiet, and if your main goal is just to sleep, it was perfectly fine. There are several bus stops nearby, so access was never a problem. A subway station was also within reach. I would definitely consider staying here again if I have the chance."

"Pros: It's clean. Whether it's truly spotless or just gives off that vibe, it feels clean enough that you'd be comfortable walking barefoot on the floor. The location is super convenient, close to the light rail and bus stops, with tons of cafes and restaurants nearby. Plus, it's quite spacious, bigger than I expected. The previous nights in Seoul I stayed in a similarly priced place that was tiny in comparison, so this one feels positively 'expansive'! Cons: The only downside is that it's street-facing. If you can, try to request a room away from the street side. Even with double-glazed windows for soundproofing, it can still be noisy because it's right by a main road. (It's not unbearable, but might be an issue for light sleepers.)"
