The front desk staff was super enthusiastic, even giving us a small gift and patiently recommending nearby attractions and restaurants. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Silver Beach, and you can borrow free sand-digging tools for kids from the front desk. The hotel breakfast was also quite varied. We stayed for two nights and had a great experience overall!"

"1. I booked a deluxe twin room, but the pictures in the advertisements didn't match the actual room; this is false advertising. 2. Upon arrival, the front desk said that if I canceled my online booking and rebooked through the front desk, I could get a free upgrade to a scenic twin room. Please, platform management, address this; what does this mean? 3. There's a cesspool right outside the hotel; it stinks terribly. Every time I leave and return, I feel nauseous and want to vomit. 4. There's a large step at the intersection of the hotel and the road, making it very inconvenient for electric scooters. I almost tipped over every time; it's too dangerous. 5. There's dirt on the right-hand side outside the hotel; cars kick up dust everywhere they go. 6. The hotel is extremely small and only has one old, dilapidated elevator that's incredibly noisy. 7. The room's decor is very basic, and the windows are broken and worn; I'm worried about my child's safety. 8. The hotel's name is like the "Regent Grand Hotel" from the movie "From Beijing with Love." Doesn't the government care? How dare such a terrible hotel call itself an international grand hotel? Does it deserve that title? 9. Went for breakfast at 9 am, and the few side dishes, like cucumber salad, were all gone, and they wouldn't refill them; the soy sauce in the vinegar bottle was so salty that vinegar lovers would find it unbearable. 10. The sink was clogged when I checked in, and they didn't care about the mess. 11. The door wouldn't close properly. 12. The bathroom was extremely small; the door was so small you couldn't even stand inside. The design was bizarre. In conclusion, this room is only worth 100-200 yuan, but it cost 664 yuan. If it weren't for the inconvenience of traveling with a child, I would have moved already. It's a total rip-off!"

"For our holiday trip, we specifically chose the Shangri-La Hotel Beihai, trusting its established brand and service quality. We weren't disappointed. The bellman was enthusiastic about handling our luggage upon arrival. Lulu at the front desk was very friendly, introducing our room package, nearby facilities, attractions, and even offering delicious food recommendations. She also informed us about hotel facility operating hours and locations, and helped us book children's activities – excellent service! Our luggage was delivered to our room. The pool water was very comfortable, and we were lucky with great weather during our holiday, making it extra beautiful. The sea view from our room was also stunning, and on clear days, the sunset was exceptionally gorgeous, visible right from the hotel's seaside promenade. No need to jostle with crowds on the bridge; there are even seats where you can order coffee! Fantastic! The facilities are comprehensive, the free sauna is great, and breakfast is abundant, a mix of Chinese and Western, with local specialties. The room itself was clean, tidy, and bright. The furnishings, though classic, had character. The location is superb; the Underwater World and Old Street are within walking distance. If you're looking for local seafood, the nearby food stalls offer great value for money, with no bad experiences. All hotel staff were polite, greeting us as we passed. Overall, it met 5-star standards. We'll definitely choose this place again on our next visit!"

"The balcony directly faces Golden Beach, and there are two bathrooms. It has two rooms with large beds, and the environment is quiet, perfect for light sleepers. The community is right across the road from the beach, so it's great for those who enjoy foraging or digging for shells. You can cook, and there's a washing machine and refrigerator. It's suitable for both long and short stays. There's an electric scooter rental spot right behind the complex, and shared bikes also have a parking area, making getting around very convenient. I didn't take photos of the room. Not far from the complex is the Golden Beach promenade, and at the end of the promenade is the Ocean Park, perfect for a stroll."

The hotel is very close to the beach, just a 5-minute walk. After returning from the beach, there's even a place to wash off your feet, which shows great thoughtfulness. We'll definitely book this hotel again next time we're in Beihai!"

"The hotel's lobby is very nice, my room was upgraded and I received a much nicer one that I had requested, which was a big plus. The views were excellent, the room spacious and clean. Can definitely recommend it on the grounds of the location, too, which was very convenient. Issues I had was that the breakfast buffet was average at best, and that the water in the bathtub, after turning it on, was initially yellow, rusty and very foul. It took a minute for the gunk to clear the system. Not a great look!"

"Traveling with two children, the location is very close to the passenger port. Thank you to Xiao Zhang from the reservation department for upgrading the room. The check-in was quick and the room was clean. There were fresh fruits in the room every day and many extra bottles of water were given every day. I have eaten breakfast, Chinese food, and buffet in the hotel. The breakfast is quite satisfactory. The Chinese food is plentiful and reasonably priced, but the waiters in the Chinese restaurant are not as enthusiastic as the front desk and appear to be slack. The buffet is okay. The good food stall on the left side of the north gate of the hotel is good, and it feels better than the internet celebrity restaurant Yuexiang Kitchen in Qiaogang Fengqing Street."

"Location: OK. It’s a bit far from the city center, but transportation is well developed, so it’s not a problem. The sea-view rooms are quiet, and the new buildings being constructed below were not operating during our stay. Room: Small. It feels a bit tight for four people. Since the hotel is new, the room is clean, and the materials and furnishings are of good quality. Breakfast: Good, with a reasonable variety of choices. One thing we would like to mention: we hope the swimming pool could be made free of charge, as it is shared with the neighboring hotel under the same group. Instead of providing three vouchers that are not really useful, it would be much better to offer free access to the swimming pool. We kindly ask the management to consider this suggestion."

"Overall, it was a good experience! We checked in on the third day of our family trip from Yunnan. It's quite convenient if you're driving, and there were a good number of guests. We arrived around 3:30 PM for check-in. It was a bit slow, as mentioned in other reviews, but the front desk staff were very polite. We also met Yuki, the hotel's GRO, at the front desk, who was very enthusiastic and proactively introduced us to the hotel and surrounding area. Because of the slight delay (only about ten minutes), she even upgraded our room type. The front desk staff also helped us with our luggage to the room. The room was very spacious and well-equipped. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, though it's a bit small and irregularly shaped. Breakfast was decent, and there's a buffet dinner on weekends (for an additional charge). You can get to the beach by exiting through the small gate next to the swimming pool, then turning left down a slope for about a hundred meters, then turning right and going down about a dozen steps. However, the sand is quite coarse, and it's crowded. Personally, I don't think it's as fun as Silver Beach, and you can't go into the water, but the scenery is nice on a clear day. Downsides: 1. One side of the barrier separating the swimming pool from the children's area was detached and very sharp, posing a safety hazard. 2. The hairdryer in the room was an old model; a hotel of this caliber should have a bladeless one. 3. The parking garage elevator doesn't seem to connect directly to the hotel rooms (or maybe I just couldn't find another route), which made it inconvenient to retrieve things from the car."

"The hotel is close to Golden Beach, but the surrounding area is unsanitary, possibly due to the overall poor environment of Beihai. Additionally, the hotel only has two and three floors; the second floor has an unpleasant odor, and the air conditioning is ineffective. These issues need improvement."

The popular internet-famous cafe is right on the beach behind the hotel, and the hotel's pool is also very unique. The sunset by the sea was beautiful!"
