YYigexihuanzhenshidianpingdeyonghuI didn't take any photos this time. First, let me talk about the facilities: I forgot to check for a bathtub, assuming there would be one. It's my own fault for not checking. The sink and shower were fine, no major problems.
Cleanliness: The walls upstairs in my room were black, but the grout lines were peeling off, making it difficult to place anything on them and leaving black residue. This wasn't a good experience.
Environment: The environment was okay, but it's located in an area full of guesthouses. I recommend renting an electric bike; riding one in the evening is incredibly relaxing.
Service: The service was impeccable, deserving a 5-star rating.
The downside: One bad thing was the swimming pool! We've taken our child to Sanya dozens of times and never had an ear infection from swimming, but here, one time we had to go home to see a doctor. The doctor said it was from swimming; something got in. Looking back, I don't know why the pool water in Beihai is salty—was it just seawater? Sanya's pools use disinfectant additives, which I suspect this one didn't.

GGuest UserThis stay perfectly met my expectations, no disappointments whatsoever! The facilities here are definitely the best on the island. The complimentary afternoon tea was delicious, and the seafood we had the hotel help us purchase and prepare was incredibly tasty – seriously, you *must* try the rock oysters, they're divine! Breakfast is à la carte, with both Chinese and Western options, and you can order more if you're still hungry. The hotel staff were very responsive to all our requests. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. The private beach is wonderfully quiet and peaceful; lying there gazing at the sea was so relaxing, and it was great for photos without crowds in the background. The hotel's famous pool also makes for some fantastic pictures.
**Surprise:** What truly impressed me was that the hotel provides a special bag containing all the essentials you'd need on the island, plus they give you their own sun umbrella. I can't express how thoughtful and considerate this is! Even after we left, the positive impression lingered, and my parents kept raving about it. Next time I visit, I definitely want to try a pool room, though they're so hard to book, haha!

HHonghongdefengjingrijiThe check-in process was very comfortable. We stayed in a house with a yard on the first floor. The room was clean and tidy, but I don't think it was necessary. It would be better to stay in the garden room in front of the swimming pool. The price is cheaper. There is afternoon tea, which is exquisite and fresh, and breakfast service, which is clean and hygienic. We were picked up at the pier and received a small collection of shells and conchs as a delicate gift. The most surprising thing was that I took life-like photos during the free photo shoot offered by the hotel. The photographer lady understood me so well. Love it, already set as wallpaper!
The hotel has small electric donkeys for rent.
Shiluokou Beach is right downstairs from the hotel. I regret not taking a good walk there.
Cons: The lights in the hotel are too dim. Hot water takes a long time to drain. The hotel is not too close to the Sports Park, Nanwan Old Street and other centers

GGuest UserI was very curious how a property with such an affordable price has a such a high rating. I was immediately convinced by myself.
The property is perfectly located in the Southern part of the Island near Crocodile Mountain and its beautiful beach as well as South Bay with countless options of tasty seafood. The room is big, bright, clean and smells great. There is everything a traveller needs. The highlight is clearly the boss, she is very warm, welcoming and very kind. There was a book in my room which I took out of curiosity to read on the beach, and I realized it contained great messages. I asked the boss if she is willing to sell it to me but she gave it for free. She told me that she deliberately puts books with great messages for young people in the room since many students stay in her property. Wow...I wish more people in this world would be like the boss. Don't hesitate and book a room here. If I ever happen to be again on this island, I know where to stay!!

GGuest UserGet this hotel!!! We were supposed to stay for a night and then decide what to do - we ended up staying 3 nights and were very sad to leave.
Every so often when you travel your hotel experience significantly improved your holiday - this was one of those cases! First of all the basics, we were looking for a nice family friendly hotel walking distance from the beach - and this certainly fit that category. The rooms are fine, you could see the sea from the windows, comfortable beds, pretty clean, slippers, plenty of towels, wifi everywhere etc. There was also a small playground for small kids and hammocks (picture) etc which was cool, we also saw mahjong tables, but didn't have the time to play.
The hotel is located near a fairly large field, filled with exotic birds, butterflies and crickets etc. There were also geckos everywhere (love them), but we didn't see any inside the room. There were some mosquitos outside on the terrace (don't love them), but the repellent took care of those and we didn't have any in our rooms. Felt like you were near nature, in a good way.
The kids loved to play on the beach, it's great for sand castles (the hotel had buckets and shovels free of charge) and searching for crabs, fish, shells, sea snails etc... The moms loved it too, especially to walk around and explore during low tide. (the hotel also provided equipment to catch crabs and other sea creatures etc if you wanted to - they also had a service to cook them for you) We especially enjoyed playing under a nearby pier during low tide to avoid getting badly sunburned.
The supermarket across the street sell dozens of single malt whiskys and beer from all over the world (they also have ice cream and other stuff) - and the dads recommend the roof terrace for that after the kids are asleep. (picture)
If you know how to ride a scooter/ebike they rent them across the road too, and it's the best way to explore the island. The small roads (almost devoid of cars) were awesome to drive on, just remember to stay safe.
I don't usually care much about breakfast, but the included breakfast was great! (picture) The kitchen staff was also super laid-back about the whole thing - this whole hotel radiated a very laid back tropical island feel that made you forget you were in China.
However the reason I write this review is because of the owner. (last picture) (I'm not sure if he speaks English though, but I'm sure you'll manage) Super chill guy! Immediately after booking he contacted us to arrange the transport from the boat. He helped us buy tickets for the trip back. He was willing to come and pick us up at any time if we got lost on the island. He had great recommendations about basically everything, and whenever we made plans we were sure to ask for his advice. He was basically always reachable over wechat too.
These are just some of the things that he didn't have to provide, but did (or offered): unlimited cold drinking water, ice, proper glasses, a coffee grinder, buckets, shovels, hats, umbrellas, sunscreen, aloe vera plants, flashlights, mosquito repellent etc etc and it feels like we only scratched the surface. It feels like whenever I asked him for something he always had a solution that exceeded my expectations. Great host!
I've traveled to almost 100 countries and while this wasn't the fanciest hotel I've stayed in by any means, this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've ever had. If anyone I know plans to visit this island I will for sure recommend this place.

GGuest UserVery satisfactory hotel, I also like the breakfast. I especially like the bed. The bathroom is also very clean and the disposable toothbrushes are very useful. Following the route the boss told us, we reached Silver Beach in less than 10 minutes. I sincerely recommend it. There is also a swimming pool in the hotel where you can swim in the afternoon. The boss and his wife are very welcoming. Highly recommended! Highly recommended! Highly recommended! We stayed in two rooms for three nights and had no regrets. By the way, there is a place to dry clothes on the second floor, which is very convenient. There is also a special smoking area.

GGuest UserTraveling to Beihai with my parents, I immediately booked a suite at the Marriott when I saw they had one! The actual experience was great too – the room was huge! It even had two bathrooms! And three separate AC controls, so we could adjust them as needed!
Location: The hotel is right in the surging wave area of Yintai! You can use your room card to walk from the hotel straight to the beach! It's not too far from the airport, and getting to the high-speed rail station is quick too!
Facilities: This is the only thing I'd complain about. First, on our second day in Beihai, we encountered strong winds, and the howling sound from the door gap was really scary! That night, the living room AC wasn't cooling well, so we called someone to fix it. When I mentioned the wind noise to the staff, they proactively adjusted the door's weatherstripping for us! I think the hotel should have informed guests about this as a standard procedure. Also, the hotel's refrigerator didn't cool at all! The pastries I bought on the first day molded overnight, so I had to throw them away. When I reported the non-cooling fridge, the hotel replaced it. We later figured out it was a ventilation issue – the fridge cabinet door couldn't be closed, or it would stop cooling again!
Breakfast: The hotel breakfast was very rich. The bowl of noodles every day was delicious! There were also many dessert options, I recommend the Guilinggao (tortoise jelly)!
Overall, I'm still very satisfied, especially since the price was so reasonable! All the staff were also very warm and polite!

EEdmund GerardIt’s a perfect spot for visiting Beihai. You get amazing value for money. Quality room and a lot of space too , as well as a great location close to shops and railway station. Beach isn’t close but it’s easy to reach with DiDi. No issues with getting around town either. Great power shower, good a/c , bed is comfy, and the soundproofing works!
A negative is SMOKING! Even though it’s covered in no smoking signs it still happens. Rooms can fill with smell of next door smoking or some ignoramus walking along the corridor puffing away. It’s an issue for most hotels due to the high number of smokers in China, but if they enforced fines consistently then maybe it would stop more doing it. Having said that , I still use City Comfort because the POSITIVES massively outweigh that single negative.
No frills. Just delivers on quality at a value price with good staff.

GGuest UserThe room we got was on the fifth floor, and the view was pretty standard – mountains to the side, buildings in front, which was a bit of a shame, but overall still good. The location is a bit out of the way, but ordering takeout and getting taxis was super easy. We also tried their travel photography service, which was decent, but they didn't offer many photo choices. We stayed for two nights, and I'd definitely recommend it for the sea view; it’s much better than Wan H's view, no complaints there. As for cleanliness, some details might not hold up to close inspection, probably because it's an older place. Overall, I'd still recommend it.

AAnonymous UserChecked in at night, to be honest, it was not much different from my expectations, the room was very spacious and clean, to be honest, much bigger than the hotels in the city, the price is quite cost-effective. Mainly, it is very close to the coastline, and the balcony is open-air and you can sit, enjoy the sea breeze and look at the sea at night, it is very comfortable.
